DONALD PAT DRAPER
1946-2006
MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. - Donald (Pat) Draper of Afton (Monkey Island) died suddenly Tuesday December 5, 2006 at Integris Grove General Hospital, Grove, Okla. at the age of 60.
Pat was born September 26, 1946 to Amzie Donald and Ellen Josephine Draper at Wichita, Kan. He graduated from the Wichita East High School. After high school he served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. Pat married Lois Krause May 23, 1969 at Wichita. He earned his pilot’s license in 1974 flying for fun over 30 years. Pat was currently working as an Account Manager for Airgas in Joplin, Mo. He was a member of the A.O.P.A., past member of the Elks Lodge, enjoyed spending time on Grand Lake with his boat, family and friends and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Survivors include: his wife Lois Draper of the home; two sons, Rick Cartwright and his wife Margie of Wichita, and Tim Cartwright and wife Patti of Tiffin, Ohio; two daughters, Darla Crumm of Wichita, and Patti Valenciano and husband Mario of Bartlesville, Okla.; two brothers, Tom Draper and Mike Draper, and one sister, Dorothy Draper all of Wichita; and 10 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday December 9, at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, with Rev. Kim Hayes officiating. The Grove Veterans Ritual Team will conduct military honors. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monkey Island Fire Dept., in care of the funeral home (711 S. Main St. Grove, Ok 74344). DOROTHY MAE KING
1925-2006
EUCHA, Okla. - Dorothy Mae King, 81, died early Tuesday morning, December 12, 2006 at the home of her son, Jerry.
Dorothy was born July 5, 1925 at Delaware County, Okla. to James Williams and Muriel (Walls) Williams. She married Sherman Edward King in Delaware County on December 11, 1943. Mr. King preceded his wife in death, June 23, 1979. The King’s lived in New Mexico and Oregon, before moving back to Oklahoma in 1967. Dorothy was a homemaker and loved to play Bingo. She was a member of Zena Baptist Church, Zena, Okla.
Survivors are: her children, Jerry, Sam, Robert, Ernest and Don King, all of Eucha, John and Leonard King of Jay, Okla., Betty Bradford of Enid, Okla., Tom King of Kansas, Okla., Mary Burge of Colcord, Okla. and Virgil Johnson of Peggs, Okla.; six brothers, Charlie, John, Bob, Lee and Gordon Williams, all of Zena and Jimmy Williams of Missouri; three sisters, Sarah Millspaugh and Susie Keller, both of Jay and Roberta Mitchell of Fulton, N.Y.; and over 150 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: both her parents; her husband, two sons, Leon and Jim King; a step-son, Arlie Johnson; a daughter, Muriel Skaggs; two grandsons; one great-grandson; and a sister, Helen.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 14, at Zena Baptist Church with Pastor Chester Crittenden, officiating. Interment will be in New Eucha Cemetery, under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home.

MARGARET PATRICIA “PAT” LONG
1928-2006
GROVE, Okla. - Margaret Patricia “Pat” Long, 78, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2006, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Long was born Margaret Patricia Younger on January 19, 1928, in Amarillo, Texas. She attended Colorado College where she met and married her husband of 59 years.
Pat and her husband, Chester, made their home in Tulsa, Okla., where she volunteered her skills and talents to the Girl Scouts of America as well as the Gilcrease Museum.
After retirement, Pat and Chester moved to Grove where they have lived for the past 25 years. She has been an active member of the Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church, the Oklahoma Bluebird Society and the local and National Audubon Society.
For many years she helped establish and maintain numerous Bluebird trails in the Grove area.
Mrs. Long is survived by: her husband, Chester I. Long, of the home; her two children, Dr. Chester I. Long and his wife Karen, of Joplin, Mo. and Janet Bell and her husband Kevin of Springfield, Mo. She leaves five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, as well as a brother, Robert Younger of Amarillo, Texas.
A funeral mass will be held at Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church in Grove on Tuesday, December 19, at 2 p.m. Following the Mass, there will be a gathering of family and friends at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, U.S. Hwy. 59 N. at 113th, Grove, OK, 74344.

WALLACE HOWARD LYNE
1929-2006
WYNNEWOOD, Okla. - Wallace Howard Lyne, 77, passed away December, 15, 2006. He was born March 12, 1929 in Wynnewood, to George and Anna Marie Lyne.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, having served in Korea. Wallace worked as a skilled electronic technician for Tinker Air Force Base. He was a member of the Wynnewood Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and Odd Fellows.
He was preceded in death: by his parents; wife, Peggy Lyne; and brother-in-law, Howard Glenn Linam.
He is survived by: his niece, Kim McHenry and husband, George of Oklahoma City; nephew, Miles William Linam, and wife, Amy; grandnieces, Rachel Elizabeth Rainwater of San Antonio, Texas and Maddison Ruby of Casper, Wyo.
Services are pending at this time.

MARGARET TIPTON
1923-2006
AFTON, Okla. - Margaret Tipton, resident of Afton, died at home Saturday afternoon, December 16, 2006 after a lengthy illness. She was 82.
She was born at Denoya, Okla. on December 19, 1923, to Elisha and Lela (Allen) Gilbert.
She married Charles Tipton, Sr. on November 23, 1941. She was a housewife, and a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Grove, Okla. She moved to Afton in 1942. She is survived by: her husband, Charles, of the home; two sons and their wives, Charles E. Tipton Jr., and Patricia, of Afton, and Jackson and Charlotte Tipton on Magnolia, Texas; a sister, Bessie Knight of Miami, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for family will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday, December 18.
No service is planned. Arrangements are provided by Adcock Funeral Home in Afton, Okla.

EVELYN EBB WHITETREE
1914-2006
GROVE, Okla. – Evelyn (Ebb) Whitetree passed away December 16, 2006, in her home. She was born February 19,1914, to Fletcher and Ethel Cosby in Blocker, Okla. She moved to Grove and spent most of her life there.
She is survived by: her daughter Dixie Bluestone of Grove; Rex Whitetree of Sapulpa, Okla.; grandchildren, James Bluestone of Aberdeen S.D., Marc and Carolyn Bluestone and Rex Bluestone of New Town N.D., Todd and Adrian Whitetree and Erin and Jasson Brook of Sapulpa, and Amy Whitetree of Houston, Texas; 18 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband Frank Whitetree; stepchildren Frank Whitetree, III, and Catherine Whitetree; four brothers and two sisters.
Evelyn was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, Tsa-la-gi Club, and the First Christian Church and its Missionary Society.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Turner Funeral Chapel in Grove and services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, December 21 at Council House Cemetery.
Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa is in charge of arrangements.

ROBERT C. (BOB) FINLEY, Sr.
1930-2006
GROVE, Okla. – Bob Finley, 76, beloved father, grandfather and friend to many, passed away at St. John’s Hospital in Joplin, Mo. on December 26, 2006, after a lengthy illness.
Bob grew up in and graduated from High School in La Rose, Ill. He later served his country honorably in the United States Army as a paratrooper during the Korean War. After spending several years in the grain and feed business while raising his family in Iola, Kan., Bob retired to the Grand Lake area. After retiring from the Grove Co-op, Bob loved to play golf, spend time with family and friends and was an avid Florida State University Seminole fan. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his four children, son Craig and wife Teresa, of Tallahassee, Fla., his daughter Colleen and her husband Rick Mitchell of Emporia, Kan., son, Tom and wife Teresa of Wyandotte, Okla., and his son Brian and wife Theresa of McClenny, Fla.; grandchildren Tyler, Trey, and William Finley of Tallahassee, Ashley, Blake and Allie Mitchell of Emporia, Ryan, Devin, Dylan and Ian, of McClenny, Zach and Amber Finley and Heather Sherwood; and a great granddaughter.
His parents, Harry and Bess Finley and his brother James Finley preceded him in death.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
The family will gather at Big Shots on Monkey Island on Friday, December 29 from 7 to 9 p.m. to receive friends.
Graveside services and burial will be held at a later date in LaRose, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
Arrangements are under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home in Seneca, Mo.

CHARLES “Sonny” KEENER
1946-2006
JAY, Okla. - Charles “Sonny” Keener, 60 years old, of Jay, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Integris Grove General Hospital.
Charles was born on November 24, 1946 in Jay to Bob and Thelma (Kegg) Keener. He was a member of the American Legion serving his country in the Army during Vietnam, receiving the Purple Heart. He was also a member of the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokees and Piney Baptist Church. Charles was a longtime truck driver.
He leaves as surviving: two sons, Michael Keener and Marcus Keener; two daughters, Linnie Keener and Sarah Keener; five sisters, Freda Wyrick, Betty Owens, Edna Ferrell, Bobbie Whitney, and Cheryl Elliot. Charles is also survived by seven grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, one brother Billy Keener, stepson, Shawn Keener and Wife Amilea Martin Keener, and brother-in-law Dave Owens.
Charles’s family will gather at Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay to receive friends and relatives on Thursday, December 28, from 1 to 8 p.m., Funeral services will be held on Friday, December, 29, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Jay with Rev. Clifford Loftis Sr. officiating.
Burial is to follow at Jumper Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Turner Funeral Chapel of Jay.

MARY LOUISE BLAZER
1923-2006
MIAMI, Okla. – Mary Louise Blazer of Miami died Friday, December 29, 2006, at Bradford Village in Edmond, Okla.
She was 83.
Born on November 24, 1923, Mary was a homemaker.
Services were held on Wednesday, January 3, at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home Chapel in Miami.
Burial took place at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.
Arrangements were provided by Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home.
