Helen Bernice Jones
Helen Bernice Jones of Earlsboro died Thursday at a local hospital. She was 77.
She was born Feb. 26, 1923, on the 101 Ranch near Ponca City to Frank Wheatley and Iris (Duff) Wheatley.
She moved to the Seminole County area in 1949 from Stillwater. She married Verrel B. Jones, who preceded her in death April 10, 1996.
Mrs. Jones worked as a nurse at Shawnee Medical Center' Coronary Care Unit, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Seminole.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Phillips of 
Oklahoma City and Glenna Loftis of Earlsboro; one brother, Leonard Wheatley of Lawton; one sister, Audra Weber of San Jose, Calif.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services
will be 10 a.m. Monday at Little Cemetery with the Rev. David Stephenson officiating. Swearingen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Priscilla Jackson
Priscilla Jackson, 86, Seminole, died Friday at a local hospital.
She was born Sept. 3, 1913, in Calico Rock, Ark. She was the daughter of Edwin Stowers and Emma Jane (Morrow) Stowers.
She lived in Seminole County since 1945, moving from Okmulgee, where she went to school. She married Ray B. Jackson Aug. 7, 1952, in Fort Smith, Ark.
She sold concrete statuary on State Street in Seminole and was a waitress at several cafes in Seminole. She was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Gary Wayne Southern and Billy Ray Southern.
Survivors include her husband, Ray B. Jackson of Seminole; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Buster Earl and Ruthie Southern of Kirtland, N.M., and Jimmy Southern of Farmington, N.M.; daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and J.R. Rose of Marion, Ohio; Shirley and Woody Woods of Shawnee; Patricia and Denny Morgan of Muskogee and Sue and Cleo Tibbs of Shawnee; sister, Hattie Clark of Globe, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Stewart officiating. Burial will be at Little Cemetery.
Jeffrey Lynn Wagner
Jeffrey Lynn Wagner, 49, Seminole, died Friday at his home.
He was born Feb. 25, 1951, at Arkansas City, Kan. He was the son of Vern D. Johnson
and Mary Evelyn Wallace.
Wagner, a rehabilitation counselor, moved to Seminole from El Paso, Texas.
He was a cavalry scout in the Army for four years and received the National Defense Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Good Conduct Medal, Pistol/Rifle Expert, Overseas Service Ribbon/Combat Action Ribbon.
Survivors include his daughter, Adrienne Jaramilla of Whittier, Calif.; brother, Preston J. Wagner of Arnold, Mo.; granddaughter, Lauren Jaramilla of California.
No services are planned. Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole, are in charge of arrangements.
Johnie L. Lewis
Johnie L. Lewis died Friday in Davis. He was 97.
He had been a lifetime resident of the Okemah area. He was a longtime member of the Okemah Round Up Club.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include one son, Wilford Lewis of Davis; one daughter, Alma Fredman of Shawnee; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and other family members and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Church of Christ in Okemah with Roger Thompson and Thomas Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Welty Cemetery, Welty, under the direction of Schumacher Funeral Home, Okemah.
Veva D. Fields
Former Prague resident Veva D. Fields, Ada, died Saturday in Ada. She was 84.
Mrs. Fields was born Aug. 27, 1910, in Old Glory, Texas, the daughter of Robert and Ida (McBroom) Riddle.
She married Thomas Fields in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1960. She lived in Prague for most of her life, and moved to Ada to be near two of her daughters.
Mrs. Fields was a homemaker, and a member of the Prague Church of Christ.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, A.C. and Sue Guillory, Newtoll, Calif.; Ronald Dwayne and Jeanie Fields, Miami, Texas; James Glenn and Tessa Fields, Alma, Ark.; Carl "Salty" and Jane Fields, Prague; four daughters and a son-in-law, Dorothy Branson, Ada; Sandra and Gary Curry, Ada; Kathryn Hightower, Welty; Rowena Hobbs, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Herbert and Dorothy Riddle, Florence, Colo.; Elbert and Katheryne Riddle, Prague; Darrell and Pat Riddle, Tishomingo; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Myrtle Sage, Binger; Edith Janda, Merkel, Texas; Margie and Edd Pernicka, Prague; Norma and Jack Nichols, West Cliff, Colo.; Loretha Janda, Allen; 21 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be until 9 a.m. Tuesday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Prague.

Burial will be in Garden Grove Cemetery.
Eletta Keene
Former Stroud resident Eletta Keene, Corryton, Tenn., died Tuesday in Knoxville, Tenn. She was 75.
Mrs. Keene was born Dec. 29, 1924, in Stroud, to William and Frannis (Kilgore) Choate.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Dennis L. Bailey Jr. and Lee Roy Keene; a brother; and a sister.
Survivors include her son, Jerry Bailey, Corryton, Tenn.; daughter, Janice Deelene Bailey, Corryton, Tenn.; a brother, Cecil O'Dean Choate; three grandchildren and their spouses, Rob and Shirley Jones, Jason Dean and Rosanna Bailey, Tracy and Allen Spoon; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Chandler. Burial will follow in Paden Cemetery, Paden, with the Rev. Thom Chappelle officiating.
Charles C. Northcutt
Charles C. Northcutt, 78, Shawnee, died Monday in an Oklahoma City hospital.
He was born April 25, 1923, in Wayne, Okla., to H. Kelsey and Mary Northcutt. He was a graduate of Shawnee High School.
Northcutt had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
On Oct. 9, 1949, he and Virginia E. Taron were married. She preceded him in death in 1991.
Northcutt was a salesman for Modern Motors for 45 years. He then worked for Dinsmore Motors until his retirement.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Nancy Northcutt of Fort Worth, Texas, and Pat and Maureen Northcutt of Colorado Springs, Colo.; seven daughters and four sons-in-law, Janice Mitchell of Oklahoma City; Margaret and Gary Pittman of Shawnee; Denise and Bill Thurman of Shawnee; Rhonda Grinnell of Tecumseh; Alice and Allan Day of Shawnee; Anita and Jack McDonald of Leawood, Kan., and Yvette Coots of Shawnee; his brother and sister-in-law, Oren and Betty Northcutt of Cookson, Okla.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Inez Coleman of San Marcus, Texas, and Evelyn and Marshall Bennett of Bartlesville, Okla.; 26 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
A prayer service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Father Maurus Jaeb, O.S.B., will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Bill Frank Burton
Bill Frank Burton, 72, Konawa, died Monday in Konawa.
The son of Herman Floyd and Gladys Amy (Jones) Burton was born April 12, 1929, in Konawa.
On Aug. 6, 1955, he and Rogene Croom were married in Okmulgee.
Burton, a pipe fitter and oil field worker, was a lifelong Konawa resident. During the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Army.
Burton was associated with the Boy Scouts, the Konawa Round-up Club, the Odd Fellows, the Konawa City Council, the American Legion and the Elks Club. He was also a lifetime member of the Konawa United Methodist Church.
His parents precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Rogene Burton, of the home, and two daughters, Cynthia Jane Burton of Houston, Texas, and Catherine Ann Shuffield of Stillwater.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Pickard Funeral Chapel, Konawa. The Rev. Pam Shirk and the Rev. J.B. Bond will officiate. Burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery.

Lewis F. Shaha
Lewis F. Shaha of McLoud died Monday. He was 89.
Shaha was born April 24, 1912, in Coalgate to Benjamin and Rose (Bolin) Shaha. On June 11, 1938, he married Margaret Schupp in Temple, Okla.
He retired from Wilson and Co., Oklahoma City, where he was an electrician.
He was a veteran of World War II and moved from Oklahoma City to McLoud in 1975. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of McLoud.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan Shaha and Carol Haller, Greeley, Colo.; Ken and Gail Shaha, Fort Worth, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Richard Silvey, Edmond; seven grandchildren, Colin, Shawn, Ryan, Aubrey, Lauren, John-Michael and Meaghan; great-granddaughter, Sarah; sister, Troybelle Farris, Ada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church of McLoud. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Barnes and Johnson Funeral Home, Midwest City.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of McLoud.
Edna Olmstead
Edna "Louise" Olmstead, 78, Eufaula died Sunday at a Tulsa hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. today at Lindsey Chapel Baptist Church. The Rev. Tim Turner will officiate, assisted by Dr. Johnny Ramsey, Mrs. Olmstead's nephew. Music will be provided by Lindsey Chapel Choir. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Olmstead was born Feb. 12, 1923, in Oilton, the daughter of Walter Mathis and Maydene (Sanders) Mathis. She was a civil service employee at Tinker Air Force Base before her retirement.
A Sunday school teacher for 40 years, Mrs. Olmstead was a member of Lindsey Chapel Baptist Church and a WMU leader.
On March 18, 1950, she married Billy Olmstead in Oklahoma City.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Randy Olmstead, and one brother, Gene Mathis.
Survivors include her husband, Billy; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven Craig and Jan Olmstead of Broken Arrow; a sister-in-law, Marie Mathis of Eufaula; brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Glenda Mathis of Eufaula; her grandson, John Olmstead of Broken Arrow, and two nieces and their husbands, Linda and Ralph Rayburn, and Pam and Rick Hoegger, all of Oklahoma City.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home, Eufaula.
