Bill F. Nabors
Bill F. Nabors, 71, of Tecumseh died Tuesday, Feb. 24, in Tecumseh.

He was born April 22, 1932, in Tecumseh to Amon W. and Mary (Reissaus) Nabors.

He was reared in Pixley, Calif., where he graduated from Dellano High School.

He married Jewell I. Flick on June 1, 1956, in Las Vegas and the couple moved to Gardena, Calif. They moved back to Tecumseh in 1976.

While in California, he owned and operated Al-Roy Drilling for 14 years. After returning to Oklahoma, he worked as a welder for OG&E until retiring.

He and his wife owned a ranch west of Tecumseh.

Nabors served as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division of the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

He was a 32nd-degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite and the Tecumseh Masonic Lodge No. 69.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Melvina (Reissaus) Fossett; his father, Sam Fossett; one brother, Jackie Fossett; one sister, Lue Sullivan; and Amon W. Nabors.

He is survived by his wife, Jewell Nabors, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terry and Wayne Gober of Shawnee and Gwen and Bill Johnson of Seminole; one son and daughter-in-law, Bill II and Debby Nabors of Tecumseh; one sister, Helen Bourland of Rialto, Calif.; one brother, John Dixon of Pixley, Calif.; four grandsons, Allan Johnson, Daniel Gober, Mark Gober and Justin Gober; one granddaughter, Callista Nabors; and many other relatives.

Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Shawnee Faith Assembly with the Rev. Kurt Beauford and the Rev. LeRoy Kerbo officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Zora Mae Branscum
Zora Mae Branscum, 89, of Konawa died Wednesday, Feb. 25, in Ada.

Service will be 11 a.m. today at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dovie Harms and the Rev. Bob Payne officiating. Burial will be at Vamoosa Cemetery. Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa is in charge of arrangements.

Clifton Lee Brazell
Konawa resident Clifton Lee Brazell, 50, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, in Batesville, Ark.

Service is 2 p.m. today at Dora Cemetery with the Rev. Ed George officiating. Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Oleta Chambless Newton
Shawnee resident Oleta Chambless Newton, 87, died Sunday, Feb. 22, at a Shawnee hospital.

She was born Jan. 1, 1917, in McLoud to Susan Arilla Richardson and John Nathanial Chambless.

She graduated from McLoud High School in 1935.

On Aug. 14, 1937, she married John David Newton in Shawnee.

She was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church, a past Noble Grand of the Shawnee Rebekah Lodge and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch's Militant.

She and her husband operated a dairy farm east of Shawnee until 1973 when they retired and moved to Bethel Acres.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John, on Dec. 13, 1981; three sisters, Mary Brown, Cleo Murphy and Inez Butts; and brothers, Ralph, Roscoe, Johnie and Marvin Chambless.

Survivors are her daughter, Aneta S. Newton, of the home; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sarah Chambless of Wayne, Sylvia Chambless of McLoud, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Newton of Shawnee, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Montgomery of Auburn, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Van Officer of Oklahoma City, Mr. and Mrs. Lynuel Newton of Hot Springs, Ark., Olive Bogenrief of Paden and Nila Newton of Noble; and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Service will be noon Saturday at Gaskill Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael F. Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Service are under the direction of Gaskill Funeral Home.

Alice Aldridge
Kinta resident Alice Aldridge, 92, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, in Stigler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; three brothers, Jack Heatley, Joe Heatley and Paul Davidchick; sister, Jennette Davis; and granddaughter, Melody Sue Aldridge.

Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Carol Aldridge of Stigler, Jay and Carolyn Aldridge of Kinta and John H. and Cheryl Aldridge of Kinta; two sisters, Ruth White and Kitty Lou Miller, both of California; three brothers, Buddy Heatley of Tulsa and Steve Davidchick and David Davidchick, both of Texas; three grandchildren and spouses, Marcie and Kevin Patterson of Oklahoma City, Scotty Aldridge of Oklahoma City and Jayson and Shannon Aldridge of Wilburton; and four great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Kinta with the Rev. John Sands officiating. Burial will follow in Quinton Cemetery and under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler.

Naoma Lucille Roe
Naoma Lucille "Lucy" (Shirey) Roe, 86, of Shawnee died Wednesday, Feb. 25, in Tecumseh.

She was born on Oct. 2, 1917, in Tribbey to Alex and May (Folks) Shirey.

Roe attended Tribbey schools.

In 1951, she married Jack Roe in Atoka. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1971.

She was a homemaker.

Roe was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Tecumseh and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 1317 in Shawnee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clyde and Vernon Shirey; and sister, Annie Nelson.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Judy King of Shawnee and Billy and Wanda King of Midwest City; daughter and son-in-law, Dovey and James Mangus of Kingston; two brothers, Monroe Shirey and Willie Shirey both of Macomb; sister, Mamie Aber of Shawnee; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Jerry Richards and Cora McElhaney.

Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Andy Busch officiating. Burial will be at Prairie View Cemetery. Cooper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Michael Charles Lincoln
Shawnee resident Michael Charles Lincoln, Shawnee, died Tuesday at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Services are pending with Walker Funeral Service.

Lorene Fish
Seminole area resident Lorene "Joan" Fish, 86, died Sunday in El Paso, Texas.

Survivors include her son, Charles and wife Janie of El Paso, two sisters, Pauline Wagner and Lucille Kibby, both of Holdenville, and two grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee, followed by a short reception.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Louise G. Brown
Shawnee resident Louise G. Brown, 79, died Feb. 21 at a local hospital.

Private services were held Wednesday under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Burial was at Calvary Cemetery.

Glenn B. Judy
Shawnee resident Glenn B. Judy, 78, died Tuesday at his home.

He was born in Trousdale to Herbert and Nora (Nunley) Judy, on Oct. 16, 1924.

He worked as a carpenter and home builder.

He married Neomi Sue Lincicome on March 14, 1952, in Shawnee.

His parents, one sister, three brothers, son, Danny Joe Judy, and great-granddaughter, Victoria Judy, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Judy of Shawnee; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy D. And Billa Judy, Shawnee, and Ted and Denise Judy, Franklin, Tenn.; six grandchildren and their spouses, Amy and Richard Strickland, Shawnee, Briana and Lance Moore, Shawnee, Mary and Paul Eiklor, Oklahoma City, Kander Hill, Oklahoma City, Daisy and Donald VanSlyke, Panama City, Fla., and Daniel Judy, Shawnee; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mildred and Oscar Butler, California, Vietta and Trever Bell, California, Delores Bylin, California, Jacie and Bob Shadix, Sparks; brothers and sisters-in-law, Milton Judy, Shawnee, Harlan Judy, Tecumseh, Darrell and Maurita Judy, Tecumseh, and Sanford and Gladys Judy, Shawnee.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Walker Funeral Service. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.

Terry Geno Carr
Terry Geno Carr died Saturday, Feb. 21, in Tyler, Texas.

Graveside service will be 11:15 a.m. Saturday at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee. Afterward there will be a memorial service at the Oklahoma Army National Guard Armory at 520 Saratoga in Shawnee.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd. Tyler, TX 75703.

Samuel Eli Campbell
Samuel Eli Campbell of Wewoka died Monday, Feb. 23, at the age of 10.

A memorial will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Evangelistic Center in Shawnee.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville.

Rachel Johnson
Rachel Johnson of Plano, Texas, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, in Plano, at the age of 91.

Service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Resthaven Funeral Chapel.

Further information is pending with Resthaven Funeral Home.

Alfred Sloan
Shawnee resident Alfred Sloan, 80, died Monday, Feb. 23, in a local hospital.

He was born March 6, 1923, in Pauls Valley to Vernie Ebenezer Sloan and Annie (Smith) Sloan.

He was retired from Holton Transfer and Storage of Oklahoma City.

In 1961 he married Eula Groves, who preceded him in death, and in 1972 he married Chancy L. Basquez.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Shawnee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; five brothers, Raymond Sloan, Julius Sloan, Cleo Sloan, Ira Sloan and J.W. (Bud) Sloan; and sister, Ola Burnett.

Survivors include his wife, Chancy Sloan, of Shawnee; two daughters, Mary Ann Sloan of Texas and Mary Etta Growth and husband Jeff of Dibble; three stepdaughters, Hannah, Jackie and Joetta; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Alton Sloan of Shawnee, Merle and Joetta Sloan of Holdenville, Donald and Edith Sloan of Okemah and Doyle Sloan of California; three sisters and two sons-in-law, Neoma Moore of Lawton, Irene and Chuck Bryant of Paradise, Calif., and Helen and Jerry Perkins of Oklahoma City; four grandsons and five granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Walker Funeral Service with the Rev. James Walter officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery. Walker Funeral Service is directing arrangements.

Frank Kubicek Jr.
Okmulgee resident Frank Kubicek Jr., 82, died Feb. 21 in Okmulgee.

He graduated from Prairie Valley High School in Seminole County and attended Oklahoma A&M, Stillwater.

He interrupted his education and enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he completed OCS at Fort Benning, Ga., and was commissioned a 2nd lieutenant of infantry. He completed Chinese language at the University of California and spent the rest of his war years during World War II in the China/Burma/India Theater. After his tour, he remained in the reserves and earned the rank of captain. He returned to A&M, where he earned his degree in agriculture.

He was called to active duty during the Korean War and, after his tour, he was employed by Oklahoma State University to establish an agriculture technical college in Ethiopia, Africa. He and his family lived there for eight and one-half years. When he returned to the United States, he was employed by OSU/Okmulgee, where he became assistant director of the school. He served in that capacity until his retirement.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Okmulgee. He also was a member of Elks Lodge of Okmulgee, the VFW of Henryetta, the American Legion of Okmulgee and other organizations.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Frank Kubicek Sr.; wife, Eulela; and granddaughter, Tammy Gregorio.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; two sons, Ronald Kubicek of Okmulgee and Randy Dennis and wife, Jeany, of Nashville, Tenn.; daughter, Claudia and husband, Ted Butler of Morris; grandson, Kyle Gregorio and wife Alicia of Okmulgee; brother, Jim Kubicek and wife Delores of Shawnee; two sisters, Mary Ann McGee of Shawnee and Jane and husband, Geno, Quinnett of Edmond; a great-granddaughter; and many other relatives.

Service was 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee. Burial was at the Veterans' Circle at the Okmulgee Cemetery with military honors by Post No. 1189 of the Henryetta VFW, and Post No. 539 of the Okmulgee VFW.
