ESTHER I. BILKE
GROVE - Esther I. Bilke, died Thursday, June 20, 2002 at Integris General Hospital in Grove, Okla., She was 74 years of age.
She was born September 26, 1927 at Peoria, Okla. to Everett and Alta (Longan) Graham. She had lived in Grove since 1983 moving from Peoria. She had been a bookkeeper for both Milner-Burke Department Store and Security Bank, she had worked at Grove General Hospital as a nurse for several years. She was a member of Grand Lake Baptist Church, Grove.
She married Wayne Bilke November 9, 1944 at Commerce, Okla. He preceded her in death May 1, 2000. Her parents, a grand daughter, Leslie Dawn Bilke, and four brothers also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons, Don and wife, Annie Bilke, Baxter Springs, Kan., Randy Bilke, Grove; one sister, Ethel Craig, Oroville, Calif.; one grandson, Joe Bilke, Quapaw, Okla.; two step grandchildren, Lacy Freeman, Miami, Okla., Christopher Freeman, Denver, Colo.
Graveside services will be Saturday, June 22, 2002 at 10 a.m. at the Seneca Cemetery, Seneca, Mo., There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami, Okla.

BILLIE M. BINGHAM
FAIRLAND, Okla. - Billie M. Bingham, longtime Fairland resident, died at Family Care Center in Fairland, Wednesday, March 27, 2002, after a lengthy illness. She was 75. She was born October 1, 1926, to Loren and Mary Fields Barker, at Miami, Okla. She was a housewife, having married Tom. J. Bingham in Arkansas on May 19, 1953. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2001. She moved to Fairland in April, 1968, from Miami, Okla.
Survivors include: two sons, Joey Bingham and Leslie Bingham and wife, Christie, all of Fairland; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 30, at Adcock Funeral Home in Fairland, with Rev. Jerry VonMoss officiating. Burial will follow at Fairland Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, March 29, at Adcock Funeral Home.

JENNY LYNN BISHOP
ROSE, Okla. - Jenny Lynn Bishop, 27-year-old resident of Rose, Okla., died July 15, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center, Springdale, Ark. Born February 1, 1975 in Siloam Springs, Ark., the daughter of Larry Lee Bishop and Betty Welch Bishop, she lived most of her life in the Colcord, Okla., area. She was a checker and electronic associate for Wal-Mart. Ms. Bishop was baptized at Countryside Bible Church.
Survivors include her parents, Larry and Betty Bishop of Rose; one brother, Mike Bishop and wife, Stacy, of Rose; one niece, Delaney Bishop of Rose; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Charlene Welch of Gentry, Ark.; paternal grandmother, Lorene Bishop of Gravette, Ark.; maternal great-grandmother, Mary Welch of Stigler, Okla.; one aunt, Mary Cockrell of Colcord; a number of other aunts and uncles; two close cousins, Amber Cockrell of Colcord, and Angie Copeland of Arizona, and many other cousins.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 19, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Ark., with Brother Edward Billups and Mr. Larry Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Dickson Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, 5:30-7 p.m., at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.

BESSIE BLACKBEAR
KENWOOD, Okla. - Funeral services for Bessie Blackbear, age 77, of Kenwood, Okla., will be held Friday, March 15, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the New Green Baptist Church near Twin Oaks, Okla. The Reverends Fox Blackfox and Arch Foreman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Euwasha Cemetery in Kenwood with services under the direction of Jones Funeral Home in Locust Grove, Okla.
Bessie was born on August 23, 1924 in Kenwood and passed away Monday, March 11, in a Tulsa hospital.
She was the daughter of Conaheyadu and Takie (BigAcorn) Blackbear. Bessie grew up and attended school in the Eucha and Kenwood area. After finishing school she worked in a canning factory and as a home provider. She also served as church treasurer at the New Green Baptist Church where she was a longtime member. In her leisure time Bessie enjoyed fishing and gardening and doing just about anything outside. She liked to quilt. Above all she loved having her family near her where she could cook big meals for them and enjoy their company. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all.
Survivors include: three daughters, Minnie Blackfox of Jay, Leona Blackfox and husband, Darrel Caudill, of Jay, and Cindy Hair and husband, James, of Tahlequah, Okla.; one son, David Blackfox, of Kenwood; seven grandchildren, and 14 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a foster son, Marvin Tagg, in 1941 and her parents.

BOB BLACKFOX
ROSE, Okla. - Bob Blackfox, age 60, of Rose, Okla., died Sunday, May 5, 2002 at W.W. Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah, Okla. Born April 26, 1942 in Kansas, Okla., he was the son of Andy Blackfox and Katie Davis Blackfox. He was employed by Skinner Brothers of Tulsa, Okla. Most of his life was spent in the Leach, Okla. area. He was a member of Elm Prairie Baptist Church, Leach. He married Alene Dry in August, 1968.
Survivors include: his wife, Alene, of the home; two sons, Jerry Dry of Ft. Gibson, Okla., and Darrell Dry of Tahlequah; two daughters, Janet Daniels of Kansas, and Priscilla Arneecher of Leach; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Leon Blackfox, Jimmy Blackfox, and Roy Blackfox, all of Leach; and two sisters, Louella Crittenden of Kansas, and Sarah Woods of Leach.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Elm Baptist Church in Leach with Rev. Richard Budder officiating. Burial followed at the Rocky Ford Cemetery near Leach.
Services were under the direction of the Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

LEON BLACKFOX
ROSE, Okla. - Leon Blackfox, 62-year-old resident of Rose, Okla., died Monday, August, 19, 2002 at W.W. Hastings Indian Hospital, Tahlequah, Okla. Born June 30, 1940 in Kansas, Okla., he was the son of Andy Blackfox and Katie Davis Blackfox. He was a machinist for Skinner Brothers Oil Parts of Tulsa, Okla. He was a lifetime resident of Delaware County and was a member of Leach Baptist Church.
He is survived by: his wife, Shirley, of the home; four sons, Leonard Blackfox of Tontitown, Ark., Ronald Blackfox of Tarasida, Okla., Perry Blackfox and Leon Blackfox, Jr., both of Leach, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one step-son, Ronnie Landrum of Siloam Springs, Ark; two stepdaughters, Janet Penner of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Joyce Fasullo of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Jimmy Blackfox of Leach, and Roy Blackfox of Flint Ridge, Okla.; and two sisters, Louella Crittenden of Kansas, Okla., and Sarah Woods of Leach.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 22, at Leach School, Leach, Okla., with Utah Humphrey, Jess Williams, and Richard Pickup officiating. Burial will follow at Bill Batt Cemetery, near Leach. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.

IRMA L. BLACKWOOD
GROVE - Irma Blackwood, age 84, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at her home after a sudden illness. The daughter of Albert C. and Alvena S. (Soelter) Calwitter, she was born on June 10, 1918 in Paxico, Kan. On August 17, 1940, she married Raymond H. Blackwood in Topeka, Kan., where she had worked as a secretary for the Capper's Weekly newspaper. They lived in Wichita, Kan., until 1951 when they moved to Tulsa, Okla., and raised their four children. Irma and her family enjoyed spending weekends at their Grand Lake Retreat from 1956 to 1978 when she and Ray retired and made their permanent home here.
Irma was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Grove and its "Kum Dubles" Sunday School class. She enjoyed living in the country where she spent time gardening and canning, sewing and quilting, and working with her hobby farm of ponies and chickens.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Lee Blackwood, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Steven M. Blackwood, Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Linda Blackwood Uglean, Afton, Okla., and Nancy Rae Blackwood, Grove; six grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, in the First United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Olympus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Grand Lake Christian Clinic or the Christian HELP Center through the church. Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

ELLA BOUSFIELD
VINITA, Okla. - Ella Bousfield, age 96, of Vinita, Okla., passed away Saturday, May 4, 2002 at the Rosewood Terrace Nursing Center in Vinita.
Ella was born February 21, 1906 in Missouri to John and Lillie (Ellings) Page. She was a homemaker. Ella was united in marriage to James Bousfield in 1932 in Girard, Kan. He preceded her in death in 1967.
Ella moved to the Vinita area in 1972 from Arma, Kan.
Survivors include: one daughter, JoAnn Rhodes and husband, Vern, of Vinita; one grandson, Mike Rhodes and wife, Vicki, of Tulsa, Okla.; one granddaughter, Carrie Adams and husband, Tim, of Kentucky; one brother, James Page and wife, Wilma, of Madison, Kan.; 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, James Robert Bousfield, one grandson, David Rhodes, five sisters, and two brothers.
Funeral services were held in the Burckhalter Memorial Chapel at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 7. Interment was at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Rosebank Cemetery in Mulberry, Kan. Rev. Henry "Skip" McClain officiated.
Services were under the direction of the Burckhalter Funeral Home.

WILLIAM GORDON BOWLES
JAY, Okla. - William Gordon Bowles, age 85, passed from this life on Friday, October 18, 2002 at his home near Jay. Gordon was born on November 23, 191, to Porter and Myrtle Bowles. He married Maxine Hawkins on July 16, 1941. One child, Betty, was born to this union.
Gordon was a life long resident of Delaware County, where he operated a cattle farm. He worked for several years at the Southwest City Milling Company until his retirement in 1981.
Survivors include: his wife, Maxine, of the home; one daughter, Betty, of the home; one son, Ted of Monett, Mo.; two grandsons, Joe Dorton and Matt Dorton; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Dorton; four sisters, Lurena Hawkins of Jay, Dorothy Proper of Houston, Texas, Nadine Johnston and Velva Jean Kirby, both of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and one brother, Frank (Chub) Bowles of Jay.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Garland and Joe D. Bowles, and his parents, Porter and Myrtle. Gordon also leaves behind many friends and other relatives.
Services were held Monday, October 21, at Plainview Missionary Church, east of Jay, with Dennis Green and Tim Bailey officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday, October 20, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay.
Services were under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay.

ALTA MAE RANDALL BOWMAN
VINITA, Okla. - Alta Mae Randall Bowman, age 88, of Vinita, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at Grove Nursing Center in Grove.
Alta Mae was born June 24, 1913 in Nowata County, Okla., to Frank Randall Jr., and Maggie (Albert) Randall. A member of the Delaware Tribe, she is descended from Eliza Woolenoosquay Snead and John A. Randall through their son Frank Henderson Randall and her father, Frank H. Jr.
She attended rural schools in Nowata County and Nowata Public Schools. She moved to Vinita with her sisters in 1932. Alta Mae married Fred Calvin "Ted" Bowman on April 20, 1935 at Nowata, and they lived in Vinita. He preceded her in death March 8, 1976.
Mrs. Bowman was active in the First Christian Church in Vinita, and was study leader for the CWF for many years. She served as an officer in the Northeast Oklahoma Genealogical Society and worked diligently on the preparation of The Story of Craig County, with special emphasis on family histories. In 1986, The Story of Eliza and John A. Randall and their Descendants was published, to the delight of family members, after 20 years of research. A copy resides with the Delaware collection at the library in Bartlesville. She was also published in several collections by the American Poetry Association. Alta Mae was also a loyal volunteer at the Vinita Public Library, worked on the Election Board for many years, and was a skilled homemaker, dressmaker, and needleworker.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mary Nell Bowman of Vinita, and Teddee Goedecke and husband, E.D., of Kansas, Okla.; two sisters, Faye Reed and Freeda Sue Fanska, both of Titusville, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kevin Berry, Randy Goedecke, and Russ Goedecke; three great-grandchildren, Amber, Kristopher and Kyle; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, May 10, at the Burckhalter Memorial Chapel. Rev. Keith Mackey, Pastor of the First Christian Church officiated. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery.
Services were under the direction of the Burckhalter Funeral Home.

KARL D. BOWMAN
AFTON, Okla. - Karl D. Bowman, Sr., died at his home in Afton early Saturday morning after an extended illness. He was 52. He was born December 28, 1949 at San Francisco, Calif. to Clifford and Constance Bowman. He was retired from the United States Marine Corps. He moved to Afton just this week from Leeds, N.D. He married Kima Tea on July 22, 1978, at San Jose, Calif.
He is survived by his wife, Kima Tea; his father, Clifford Bowman of Hayward, Calif.; his mother, Constance Gunn of Fremont, Calif.; three sons, Karl Bowman Jr., of Oregon, Kevin and wife, Alvina Bowman, of Leeds, N.D., and Keith Bowman of Leeds, N.D.; two daughters, Rebecca Bowman and Jessica and husband, Alan Remeika, all of Leeds; five brothers, Kurt Bowman of Leeds, Kenneth Bowman of Oregon, Kim Bowman of Fremont, Calif., Clifford Bowman of Reno, Nev., and Danny Gunn of San Francisco, Calif.; seven sisters, Gail Bowman of Hayward, Calif., Gina Ross and Heather Miller, both of Fremont, Calif., Debbie Hill of Oregon, Kethy Jeustock of Colorado Springs, Colo., Melissa Bowman of Reno, Nev., and Karen Carpenter of Sparks, Nev.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded by a brother, Keith, and sister, Maureen. Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at 1:00 p.m., at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, Ft. Gibson, Okla., under the direction of Adcock Funeral Home of Afton.

CLINTON WILBUR BOYD
MIAMI, Okla. - Clinton Wilbur Boyd of Miami, died at 7:37 a.m., Tuesday, December 10, 2002, at his home after a long illness. He was 90.
Boyd was born January 26, 1912 in Fairland, Okla., to Bert Ernest and Macy Iness (White) Boyd. He was a very active member of the Lone Star Baptist Church, serving as church treasurer for 51 years. He was a farmer and rancher and served on the Farm and Home Committee for three years and the A.S.C.S. Committee for 15 years. He had also served on the Afton Co-op Credit Loan Committee.
He married Ruth Baker in November 1934 and she preceded him in death on March 24, 1943. He married Lois McCarty on August 3, 1953. She survives of the home.
One son, James Vincent, II, also preceded him in death.
Other survivors include three sons, Raymond Boyd of White Hall, Ill., Larry Boyd of Fairland and Ronald Joe Vincent of Fairland; two sisters, Helen Rowley of Fairland and Francis Simmons of Miami; two brothers, Dr. Wayne Boyd of Hot Springs, Ark. and Kenneth Boyd of Fairland; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, at Lone Star Baptist Church, northeast of Fairland. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, December 13, at Lone Star Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Price officiating and Herschel Barnes and Kevin Burns assisting. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery, Fairland. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home, Miami.
