Charlotte Summers Blair
Silverdale, Washington resident, Charlotte Lee Summers Blair, age 73, widow of F. Rene Blair, died at her daughter's home on Bainbridge Island, WA Sept. 8, 2004. Private family services have been held.

She was born in Charleston, West Virginia on December 14, 1930 to Michael and Rose (Thaxton) Simmons.

Charlotte graduated from Charleston High School in 1949 and attended secretarial school. They moved to Medford in 1969.

She spent most of her career as a homemaker but worked at Western Auto Supply in Medford.

She excelled in creating beautiful hand-made quilts and her family considers them heirlooms.

Charlotte loved to play bingo, go to the casino, was an expert seamstress, and a voracious reader.

She is survived by three daughters, Judith Clark of Medford, Cynthia (Tim) Page of Alpine, CA, Susan Summers (Rick) Lewis of Bainbridge Island; six grandchildren, Laura Clark Rice, Barbara Clark and Donald Clark, all of Medford, Stephanie and Lindsey Page of Alpine, CA, Rick Lewis of Bainbridge Island; two great-grandchildren, Nick and Blair Shanklin-Rice; and two sisters, Leona Thompson of Jacksonville, FL and Jean Johnson of Charleston, WV.

Elizabeth Jean Paris
Sept. 9, 1926 - Sept. 17, 2004

Liz was born in Medford, OR to Frank and Charlotte (Pratt) Blew on Sept. 9, 1926. She graduated from Medford Senior High School in 1944. She worked for two years at Lockheed Aircraft Company in Los Angeles on the development program for the Lockheed Constellation.

Returning to Medford she became engaged to Robert D. Paris and was wed in Reno, NV on Aug. 30, 1947.

She passed away Friday, Sept. 17, less than two months after being diagnosed with cancer.

Her husband Bob and her two brothers Gary Blew of Florence, OR and Kent Blew of Cupertino, CA survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Bruce Blew of Dillard, OR, and Leigh Blew of Central Point; and her sister Barbara of Eagle Rock, CA.

Her interests included gardening, reading, travel, water exercises and walks on the beach. She and her husband Bob, spent many wonderful years boating and R'ving.

For 32 years before retiring she was employed by Pacific Power and Light. At the time of her retirement in 1989, while residing in Portland, she was the executive in charge of training. Prior to that she worked in the PP&L; office in Medford.

Her family and friends will remember her for her dynamic, outgoing personality, her sharp wit, and her loving, caring nature.

Inez Cornett
Inez Cornett, 71, of Medford, died Wednesday (Sept. 22, 2004) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at Eastwood Baptist Church at a later date. Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

John M. Sharp
John M. Sharp, 82, of Medford, died Sunday (Sept. 19, 2004) at Rogue Valley Hospital. A committal service will be held today, Sept. 24, 2004, at 10 a.m. at Eagle Point National cemetery. Arrangements: Abbey Funeral Inc., Medford.

Joshua J. Wilmarth
Joshua J. Wilmarth, 32, of Medford, died Monday (Sept. 20, 2004) at his home. Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, Medford.

Mary Ruth Reed
Mary Ruth Reed, 84, of Cave Junction, died Wednesday (Sept. 22, 2004) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. Arrangements: Grants Pass Funeral Alternatives and Crematory.

Charles S. Hardisty
Charles S. Hardisty, born in Corona, CA, April 17, 1922, went home to be with Jesus on Sept. 29, 2004.

In life, Charles was a retired industrial engineer, a scoutmaster and Silver Beaver recipient.

He is much loved and will be missed.

Survivors include: his wife of 49 years, Billie Jean; his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Charles Isted of Gold Hill; 3 granddaughters; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Catherine, and a son Mark.

Donald I. Hammer
A celebration of the life of Donald I. Hammer will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, at the First Presbyterian Church, 8th and Holly, Medford.

Robert C. Patrick
In Loving Memory Robert C. Patrick, 82, passed away on Sunday (Oct. 10, 2004) at his residence in Medford.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Edith; his son Robert of Plattsburg, NY; his daughter, Donella C. Higdon of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Lois Schaefer-Bishop
Lois Pearl Schaefer-Bishop, 87, (April 21, 1917) of Eagle Point, died Sunday (Oct. 3, 2004) at Hearthstone Manor in Medford. No service at this time. Arrangements: Conger-Morris, Central Point Chapel.

Delbert N. Tobiasson
Born in Orton, Alberta, Canada, on December 23, 1912, to Neils and Eva McMurray Tobiasson, Delbert Neils Tobiasson passed away at his home in Ashland, Oregon on September 15, 2004. He was 91.

His mother died in 1920, and the family moved after to Enterprise, Utah, and then to Logandale, Nevada. On February 14, 1934, he married Dorothy Lamoine Seckinger, "gentle, loving, and of a good courage." He became a US citizen on September 23, 1941.

Delbert and Dorothy owned a dairy farm in Logandale. In 1951, "Tib" moved to Ashland, Oregon, where he became known as "Del, " continued farming, was a sawyer in a sawmill, became a greenskeeper at Oak Knoll Golf Course, and worked 18 years for United Grocers before retiring. Over the years, neighbors along the Wells-Walker True Ditch watched him look after his farm, yard, and garden.

Del is known for his sense of humor, music, and love of fishing. One of his goals was to share a joke, one-liner, or anecdote to lighten people's burdens. He continued to pick the mandolin, sing, and yodel through this 92nd year. He treasured fishing trips to Lake Mead, Hyatt Lake, Howard Prairie, and Emmigrant Lake.

Del's wife, Dorothy, daughter Rowena Verlee, and son Robert Dwayne passed away earlier, as did three brothers and four sisters: Cecil (Hester "Dixie") of Las Vegas, NV; Gladys (Karl) Marshall of Logandale, NV; Dorithy (Woodruff) Holt of St. George, UT; Illeen (Hugh) Tenney, Donald, Richard, and Ruth of Redding, CA.

Surviving children: Delbert Corwin (Ella) Tobiasson of Turner, OR; Loya June (Ramon) Elbert of White City, OR; Loran Jack (Karolyn) Tobiasson of Payson, UT; Lorna Kay (David) Carter of Yreka, CA; Evan Stanley (Linda) Tobiasson of Phoenix, OR; Joseph Neils (Marilyn) Tobiasson of Ashland, OR, 29 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Surviving brothers: Heber of Las Vegas, NV; Eldon (Marilynn) of Terrebonne, OR; Wendell (Kathy) of Lehi, UT; Bert (Barbara) of Orevada, Nevada; Reynold (Donna) and Bill of Redding, CA. Surviving sisters: Norma (Earl) Allen of Alpine, UT and Mary Lou (Clyde) Forrest of Albany, OR.

The family especially thanks the Providence Hospice staff for their love, care, and kindness, Dr. Hites for attentive and sustained medical watchfulness, marvelous LDS ward members for their loving friendship and acts of service, and friends and neighbors, who also served in love.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (111 Clay Street) in Ashland. Friends and family are invited to visit there from 10 until 10:50 a.m. that morning.

A graveside service will be held at the Logandale cemetery in Logandale, NV, on Saturday, September 25, at 2:30 p.m.

Harold 'Champy' McCollum
A funeral for Harold "Champy" McCollum will be at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 21, at the Apostolic Faith Church, 285 Sunrise, Medford. Rev. Alan Friesen of the Apostolic Faith Church will officiate. A private family committal will be at the IOOF cemetery in Medford.

Mr. McCollum, 89, of Medford died Friday (Sept. 17, 2004) at his home surrounded by his loving family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Medford Gospel Mission.

He was born on Jan. 3, 1915 in Worden, OR to Champion and Henrietta McCollum. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1927. On July 3, 1936 in Medford, he married Ronelda M. Schleigh who survives.

Mr. McCollum attended school in Wordon and Medford.

He worked for Timber Products for 35 years, then worked as a Courier for First Interstate Bank until his retirement in 1985.

Mr. McCollum attended the Apostolic Faith Chruch, drove the Sunday School bus and was a usher for 40 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking and rock collecting.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Jerry and David; a daughter, Kathleen Y. Frazier all of Medford; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-granchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Echo McCollum and Violet Sergent; a brother David S. McCollum, and a grandson, Scott Frazier.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Margaret "Peggy" Cunningham
Aug. 20, 1920 - Sept. 16, 2004

With peaceful anticipation, Peggy reached out and took God's hand last Thursday morning, leaving behind her family and friends and countless warm memories.

Peggy was born on August 20, 1920 in Spokane Washington to William and Julia Lindsay. She met her husband and partner of 58 years, James "Jim" Cunningham, while writing a lonely soldier overseas. Together they raised a daughter, Sally and two sons, James Jr. and Ron.

Peggy was known by all for her warm smile, quick laugh, servant's heart and visible faith.

She loved to travel, create things for her family with fabric, thread and yarn, and prepare good food.

Her husband Jim, their children and spouses, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends gathered to share their memories of Peggy on Saturday, September 18.

While they all feel an empty place in their hearts with the passing of this wonderful woman, they take great comfort in knowing that - the God she loved and served has a plan that allows for them to be together for all time.

Cleo Vivienne Brown
Cleo Vivienne Brown, 99, of Medford, died Friday (Sept. 17, 2004) at Rogue Valley Manor. A service was held. Private interment will be in Twin Falls Idaho. Arrangements: Hull & Hull Funeral Directors, Grants Pass.

George M. Rancourt
George M. Rancourt, 55, of Shady Cove, passed away at the VA SORCC in White City, on Sept. 19, 2004. Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, Medford.

Hugh Donovan
Hugh Donovan, 80, of Medford, died Sunday (Sept. 19, 2004) at his home. Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, Medford.

Jim H. Rager
Jimmy "Jim" Howard Rager, 70 of Central Point, died Saturday (Sept. 18, 2004) at Providence Medford Medical Center. Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.

Mark Money
Mark Money, of Ashland (Infant) was born and passed away Sept. 10, 2004 at Ashland Community Hospital. Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, Medford.

Donald R. Gordon
Donald R. Gordon passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife on Oct. 6, 2004 at Providence Hospital after a courageous battle against pancreatic Cancer.

Don was the son of Rex and Myrtle Gordon. He was born on Dec. 23, 1939 in Van Nuys, CA. He married DoRita L. Henson on Nov. 12, 1988 in Carson City, NV.

He owned and operated the Roadrunner Coffee Shop for 35 years. He officially retired in Aug. 2004. He treated his customers and his employees as family. He wanted his customers to feel at home while serving the finest meal possible.

Don was a very loyal and caring friend and his friends were many.

Don enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was a meticulous gardener. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

He will be missed.

Survivors include his wife DoRita Gordon of White City; two daughters, Kristi Gordon of Medford, and Tiffani Jenkins of Central Point; a son Larry Gordon of Medford;. a step-son Travis Henson of Eagle Point; a step-daughter, Catina Henson of Central Point; three sisters, Ruby Cook of Central Point; Greta Mirolla of Jacksonville; Peggy Walker of Puyallup, WA; a brother, Randy Gordon of Reno, NV. He was "Grandpa or Papa" to 13 beautiful grandchildren. He was expecting the arrival of another grandchild and a great-grandchild. They were the joys of his life.

He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Leslie Gordon, and his parents.

Private services will be held this spring at Rogue Elk Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Foundation.

H.R. 'Buck' Graves
A graveside service for H.R. "Buck" Graves will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland. The Rev. W. E. (Bill) Hase will officiate.

Mr. Graves, 79, of White City, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004 at his home.

He was born on Sept. 21, 1925 in Sheridan AR. He married LaNell Elbie in Eugene, OR.

Mr. Graves served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He moved to Oregon in the 1950s.

He worked in the lumber industry and in the furniture sales business until his retirement in 1983.

Survivors include: his wife, LaNell Graves; his son and daughter-in-law Louis and Shirley Graves; daughter-in-law Wendy Graves; step-children, DoRita Gordon, LaVita DeHaven, Sam Elbie, Jeff Elbie; sister, Kathryn Flynt; brother Pete Graves, 14 grandchildern; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bessie; a son Ray; brothers, Reed, Elbert, and Delbert; and a sister, Imogene Lainer.

Llze Devries
Llze Devries, 58, of Talent, died Monday (Oct. 11, 2004) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, Medford.

Steven A. Greenwood
Steven A. Greenwood, 45, of Medford, died Monday (Oct. 11, 2004) at his home. Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, Medford.

Drew M. Pierson
Drew M. Pierson, 23, was born on March 7, 1981, in Wichita, KS, and passed away due to an industrial accident on October 14, 2004, near his job site in Rialto, CA.

Drew and his family moved to Oregon when he was two years old where he attended the Phoenix/Talent school system, graduating from Phoenix High School in 1999.

Drew's love of sports kept him involved and active with friends and their families throughout the Rogue Valley including the youth baseball program at Miles Field. In 1998 Drew was proud to have been the starting first baseman at Phoenix High School when their team won the State 3A Baseball Championship.

Soon after graduation Drew began traveling through California and Oregon operating heavy equipment on industrial sites for the Barber-Webb Company and was a member of the Local Union No. 738.

Drew will be greatly missed by his loving family; parents, Patty and Cecil; sister Amanda; grandmothers, Corinne and Vola; aunts, Pam, Paula, Rose; uncles Jay and Dick; immediate cousins, David, Desi, Nichol, Audra; and his many loved and adored friends and coworkers.

Drew "Lived Life Large" with a positive outlook and a smile that his friends, coworkers, and family will always remember. Now somewhere, someone is smiling because of the joy Drew donated to them.

A celebration of Drew Pierson's life will be held Sunday, November 14, 2004 at The River House, 7710 Rogue River Drive, in Shady Cove, Oregon at 1 p.m. Please bring your fond memories and love to share.
