Neola Helen Wilkinson
The memorial service for Neola Helen Wilkinson will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Lundberg’s L.B. Hall Funeral Home, Grants Pass. Pastor Bob Wood of Redwood Christian Church will officiate. Interment will be in Big Meadow cemetery in Lovelock, Nev.

Mrs. Wilkinson, 87, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday (Oct. 29, 2002) at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

She was born May 9, 1915, in Kerby. In February 1947, in Portland, she married Edward Wilkinson, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Wilkinson worked as a cook for various restaurants, hospitals, resorts and ranches. She was a native Oregonian, living here off and on all her life. She moved to Grants Pass in 2001, after living in Nevada for 25 years.

She was a member of the Methodist church.

Mrs. Wilkinson enjoyed square dancing, crafts of all kinds and traveling.

Survivors include three sons, Robbin Reynolds, Grants Pass, Dean Reynolds, Lovelock, Nev., Terre Reynolds, Tulelake, Calif.; a stepson, Ed Wilkinson, Santa Rosa, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Gran; and three sisters, Faye Doney, Naoma Bogg and Enid Regal.

Arrangements: Grants Pass Funeral Alternatives and Crematory.

Evelyn Casey Cross
The funeral for Evelyn Casey Cross will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Perl Funeral Home, Medford.

Mrs. Cross, 91, of Medford, died Monday (Oct. 28, 2002) at Three Fountains Nursing Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 6915 S.W. Macadam, Suite 130, Portland, OR 97219.

She was born Nov. 12, 1910, in Cathay, N.D., to Kasper and Martha (Riedesel) Lathrop. She attended school in Salem. In 1928, she married Forrest W. Casey, who died in 1973. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1953. In 1981, she married Harley Cross, who died in 1982.

In 1953, her first husband established Forrest & Son, a paving and road construction company, where she worked as the office manager for 25 years.

She was a member of the Rogue Valley Country Club.

Mrs. Cross enjoyed her family and her work.

Survivors include a son, Richard W. Casey, Palm Desert, Calif.; a sister, Opal Russell, Imperial Beach, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Gordon Forrest Casey.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Home, Medford.

C.W. ‘Ward’ Blaine
A celebration of the life of C.W. "Ward" Blaine will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at his home in Prospect.

Mr. Blaine, 80, of Prospect, died Tuesday (Oct. 29, 2002) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Prospect School Scholarship, 160 Mill Creek Drive, Prospect, OR 97536.

He was born March 16, 1922, in Jackson, Wyo., to Clinton D. and Daisy M. (White) Blaine. He attended Beagle-Antioch School in Jacksonville and Central Point High School, now Crater High School. On Aug. 8, 1946, in Sparks, Nev., he married Myrtle B. Veline, who died in 1993. On Sept. 15, 1995, in Reno, Nev., he married Joan C. Wright, who died in 1998.

Mr. Blaine owned and operated the Prospect Chevron Station from 1952 to 1959. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service from 1959 to 1978, where his duties included construction and maintenance of wilderness trails and relocation of the Skyline Trail, now the Pacific Crest Trail He supervised the first fire Hot Shot crew for Rogue River National Forest at Prospect. He retired as a fire management officer.

From 1942 to 1946, he served in the 551st Signal Corps as a radio operator in the Solomon Islands and the Philippines.

Mr. Blaine was a harmonica player and singer. He enjoyed hunting and horseback packing.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Gordanier, Medford, and Nadene Pope, Prospect; a stepson, Jerry Wright, Sisters; two stepdaughters, Jacki Evans, Central Point, and Jean Stalnaker, Portland; one grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Lucille Cooper Garbarski
Lucille Mary Cooper Garbarski, 85, of Central Point, died Oct. 20, 2002, in Medford. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

She was born Jan. 13, 1917, in Batania, Ill., to George and Lizzie (Muir) Glasgow. She moved to the Rogue Valley 30 years ago from California. On March 17, 1981, in Medford, she married Hadley "Van" Garbarski, who died in 1999.

Mrs. Garbarski was a food server for Northop Aviation.

She was a member of the Medford Moose Lodge. Mrs. Garbarski enjoyed traveling and watching "M*A*S*H" on TV.

Survivors include a son, Karl King, Windsor, Colo.; two daughters, Janet Reed, Central Point and Donna Rollins, Brookings; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation and Funeral Care, Central Point.

Eva Lynn Smith
A private graveside service for Eva Lynn Smith will be held Saturday at Rock Point cemetery in Gold Hill. Pastor Mark Burton of Medford Friends Church will officiate.

Mrs. Smith, 96, of Central Point, died Saturday (Oct. 26, 2002) at Hearthstone in Medford.

She was born Eva Dusenberry on Nov. 26, 1905, in Gold Hill. On Nov. 27, 1922, in Jacksonville, she married George L. Smith, who died in 1997.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church of Medford and a lifelong Rogue Valley resident.

She enjoyed hunting, traveling, gardening and people.

Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Evans, Central Point, and Geneva Cobel, Covington, Wash.; a brother, Don Dusenberry, Wenatchee, Wash.; two sisters, Nora Bailey and Mabel Smith, both Gold Hill; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.

Patricia Joy Bearg
The memorial service for Patricia Joy Bearg will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ashland Christian Fellowship.

Ms. Bearg, 67, of Medford, died Oct. 23, 2002, at her daughter’s home in Medford.

She was born Patricia Joy Bearg on Jan. 27, 1935, in Abie, Neb.

Ms. Bearg was a missionary in Honduras for many years. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1980 from California.

She was a member of Ashland Christian Fellowship.

Ms. Bearg was an artist and enjoyed missionary work.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Oppelt, Medford; a sister, Camilla Staco, in Arizona; a brother, Bruce Bearg, Talent; and three grandchildren.

Clifford S. Fairfield
Clifford S. Fairfield, 66, of Central Point, died Sunday (Oct. 27, 2002) at Providence Medford Medical Center. No service is planned.

He was born Dec. 15, 1935, in Roseburg, to Delbert and Carrie Fairfield. On Nov. 30, 1970, in Reno, Nev., he married Ruby Dobbs, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Fairfield was a mill worker. He lived in the Rogue Valley for many years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957.

Mr. Fairfield enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include two brothers, Donald, Eugene, and Henry, Sutter Creek, Calif.; and a sister, Sybil Gordon, Salem. He was preceded in death by a brother, James; and a sister, Edna Coon.

Lula Gaster Hickenbottom
Lula Gaster Hickenbottom, 92, of Medford, died Tuesday (Oct. 29, 2002) at an adult foster care home. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Community Health Foundation, Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.

She was born Lula Bommel on July 1, 1910, in LaVerne, Iowa. In 1927, in Blue Earth, Minn., she married Everett Gaster, who preceded her in death. In 1968, in Reno, Nev., she married Joseph Hickenbottom, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hickenbottom was a longtime Rogue Valley resident. She worked for Rogue River Packing Co., and as a homemaker.

She was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Medford.

Mrs. Hickenbottom enjoyed bingo, traveling and spending time with her friends at Forest Glen Senior Residence in Canyonville.

Survivors include a daughter, Marian McBeath, Medford; a son, Richard Gaster, Ten Mile; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jean Gaster.

Allen Pool
Allen Pool, 81, of Medford, died Oct. 13, 2002, in the woodshop at his home. No service is planned.

He was born Sept. 4, 1921, in Dallas, Texas. On July 21, 1962, he married Bula Gwen Haines, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1971.

Mr. Pool was a nursing technician at Rogue Valley Medical Center. He also worked in maintenance for Oregon Fish and Wildlife. He retired in 1997.

He served in the U.S. Navy in 1944. Mr. Pool enjoyed woodworking, fishing and playing with his grandchildren.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Jeffery, Medford, Allen "Rocky" Jr., Spokane, Wash., and Wilbur Charles; a daughter, Sharon Pool, Tillamook; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Lolita R. Knight
Lolita R. Knight, 89, of Ashland, died Tuesday (Oct. 29, 2002) at Providence Medford Medical Center. Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Ashland.

Raymond Lester Borgman Raymond Lester Borgman, 76, of Medford, died Tuesday (Oct. 29, 2002) at the Veteran’s Hospital in Portland. Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Sophia H. Robbins
Sophia H. Robbins, 86, of Medford, died Tuesday (Oct. 29, 2002) at Hearthstone in Medford. Arrangements will be announced by Perl Funeral Home, Medford.

Mary A. Rothman
Mary a. Rothman, 81, of Medford, died Wednesday (Oct. 30, 2002) at a Phoenix foster care home. Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives and Crematory.

Keith D. Kelly
Keith D. Kelly, 45, of Medford, died Wednesday (Oct. 30, 2002) at his home. Arrangements will be announced by Abbey Funeral, Medford.

Marjorie Bell Templeton
Marjorie Bell Templeton, 82, of Medford, died Oct. 20, 2002, at Three Fountains Nursing Center in Medford. No service is planned.

Among her survivors is a sister, Dorothy Cowdrey, Central Point.

Albert E. Godwin
Albert E. Godwin, 87, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday (Oct. 29, 2002) at his home. Arrangements will be announced by Grants Pass Funeral Alternatives and Crematory.

Pastor John Gomez
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Conger Morris Funeral Directors, Medford. The celebration of life for Pastor John Gomez will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Joy Christian Fellowship in Medford.

Pastor Gomez, 48, of Medford, died Oct. 24, 2002, in Glide.

Clarice H. Woolsey
Clarice H. Woolsey, 77, of Central Point, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2005. No services are planned. Arrangements: Abbey Funeral, Medford.

Robert W. Hutto
A Rosary for Robert W. Hutto will be at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, March 10, at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church, Ashland. A Funeral Mass will be held at noon Friday, March 11, at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church with a reception following. Interment will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Eagle Point National cemetery.

Robert Walden Hutto died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at home in Ashland, Oregon.

Bob was born Aug. 4, 1925 in Hollywood, California, to Dale Hutto and Irene Walden Hutto, both from Manhattan, Kansas. He had one brother, Jack, who preceded him in death in 2000.

After graduating from Hollywood High School in 1943, he joined the Army and served in England, France & Germany.

He started his forty-year career in the food industry with Morton Salt Co. in Los Angeles. He then worked for the Pacific Cracker Co., Mother's Cookie Co., and was sales manager for All American Nut Co., before joining Crown Brokerage as an account executive, where he retired in 1990. He served as president of the Food Industry Sales Managers Club of Los Angeles in 1975.

Bob married his wife, Margaret (Peggy) Burghardt in 1964. They retired to Ashland in 1996.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; his stepchildren, Michael McNeil and Kathleen Highley; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church, 987 Hillview Dr. Ashland, OR 97520, or to an Alzheimer or Diabetes Association.

Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.
