Larry G. Hunt
Larry G. Hunt, 61, died at his home March 8, 2005 with his loving family and friends by his side.

He was born on October 3, 1943 in Columbus, GA. He moved to Oregon after retiring from the US Army. He leaves behind his wife, Sue, of 31 years; five surviving children, Steven, Mark, Sierra Puryear, Heather Roberts, Tamara Thomas; and his fourteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his eldest son Gene Hunt. He worked at the Medford branch of the United States Postal Service from 1988 until his retirement in 1998.

CSM (Ret) Larry G. Hunt 22 years of honorable service from October 16, 1961 - December 30, 1983. He Served two combat tours in Vietnam January - December 1968 with the 1st Inf. Uiv. 1-21st Sig. Bn. Detached to a G-2 intel ops team with a 26 man, Vietnamese RF Force, from March - December 1968.

He will be greatly missed.

Often thought of.

Forever loved.

A celebration of Larry's life will be held at his home, 1234 Dixie Lane, Medford, Oregon, at 5 p.m. today, Saturday, March 12, 2005.

Charles Wayne Chriss
The memorial service for Charles Wayne Chriss will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, at the Hillcrest Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Chriss, 80, of Medford died March 18 at his home in Medford.

He was born in Moneta, CA. on July 9, 1924 to Connie Christina and Louis Martene Chriss. On January 4, 1984 he married Therese Delehanty in Carrollton, Mississippi.

Wayne (as he was known) served in the U. S. Navy in the Medical Corp. His young years were spent between Aurora, IL and Long Beach, CA. Deciding California was the place for him, Wayne worked at various jobs but settled in with Rheem Manufacturing which later became part of Aerojet Ordnance. Here he spent many years as a mechanic in the Research & Development Group. He retired in 1987 and moved with his wife to Medford.

In his younger days he enjoyed hunting and fishing but in retirement settled for raising beautiful, bounteous gardens.

Wayne was a member of the Advent Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Therese; and a brother, Bob of Live Oak, Fl. He was preceeded in death by his parents, a brother John, and a son Bobby.

Dorothy L. Waltz
Dorothy L. Waltz died March 13, 2005.

Dorothy was born Sept. 19, 1922 in Bismarck N.D. She married her husband Joe in 1942 and they moved from Los Angeles to the Rogue River Valley where they resided for over 50 years. They raised their children in Shady Cove and then moved to Eagle Point and on to Medford.

She worked at Providence Hospital for 20 years as a central supply technician. Joe and Dorothy celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 1992. Dorothy moved to Idaho to be close to her son Ron in 1999. In 2000 Dorothy moved to Tucson Az. to live with her daughter Judy until her death.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Lotz and grandchildren Shawn Lotz and Angela Horoncich; daughter, Janice Thomas her husband Michael and grandchildren, Quentin Thomas; Carla Tagvaei and Brook Thomas; her son Ron Waltz, his wife Sue and grandchildren Ian Waltz, Jessica Christianen and Micah Waltz.

A memorial service will be held Friday, March 25, at 11 a.m. at Siskiyou Memorial Park, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd. Medford, Oregon.

Glenn Williams
Glenn Williams, 77, of Medford, passed away at his home Thursday (March 17th, 2005).

A graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2005, at the Siskiyou Memorial Park, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lila Williams; and his brother Keith Williams. Four other siblings preceded him in death: Helen Anderson, Dick Williams, Charles Williams, and Lee Williams.

He was a dedicated father to eight children: Forrest Williams, Ronald Williams, Dr. Barnett, Judy Pulido, Janet McCraken and Rene Williams. Two children preceded him in death: Rhonda Williams and James Elliott. He had 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one cousin, Gene Williams.

Mr. Williams was born on August 19, 1927, in San Mateo, California to Jay and Nettie Williams.

He enlisted in the Navy on May 12, 1945 and received three medals for his service in WWII.

Mr. Williams graduated from Central Oregon Community College, with an associates of fine arts.

He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

Mr. Williams worked many years in farming & ranching. He was a business owner for many years here in the Rogue Valley. In his twenties he was a professional guitar player and singer. And in his retirement, he performed in the area's group, "Old Time Fiddlers." He enjoyed the love and respect of a large family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association.

James Woodrow W. Irby
James Woodrow Wilson Irby died Thursday evening, March 17, 2005, at his Albany home. He was 91.

James was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, one of eight children of James Jesse and Martha Derinda (Waltrip) Irby. During the Great Depression, the family lived in Nebraska, Texas, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Idaho before James graduated from high school in Payette, then worked as a deliveryman for a grocery store in Boise.

On January 22, 1939 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, James married Lauralee Graham. They owned and operated the Irby Evergreen Nursery in Boise before moving to Medford in 1957, where James was head landscaper for the Medford School District.

James was a lifelong member of the Assembly of God Church. After retiring, he and Lauralee enjoyed an extended trip to and up the East Coast, returning by way of Canada. They liked traveling, particularly to the Oregon coast; birdwatching; and really enjoyed the Azalea Festival in Lafayette, Louisiana. The couple moved to Albany's Mennonite Village in March of 2000, where Lauralee died that May.

Survivors include his sister, Viola Beats of Kamloops, British Columbia; younger brothers, John Irby of Payette, ID and Royce Irby of LaGrande, OR; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife of 61 years, Lauralee, James was preceded in death by sisters, Willamina Irby, Jesse Miller, Mary Wolf, and Cynthia Irby.

Viewing will be held in Albany at AAsum Funeral Home from noon to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22 and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday March 23, when funeral services will begin. A concluding graveside service will follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Casey Eye Institute and the Assembly of God Foreign Ministries, either directly or in care of the AAsum Funeral Home, 805 Ellsworth St. SW, Albany, OR 97321.

Kenneth L. Kirkham
A private family graveside service for Kenneth L. Kirkham will be held at Memory Gardens Memorial Park.

Mr. Kirkham, 86, of Orange County, CA, formerly of the Rogue Valley, died Thursday, March 17, 2005.

He was born Feb. 17, 1919 in Wichita, KS. On Dec. 22, 1947 in Grants Pass, he married Mary E. Wilson, who preceded him in death in 1990. Mr. Kirkham served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was a general contractor and had developed homes on Old Stage Rd. in Medford and also raised pears in the Rogue Valley.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include, four sons, Roger C., Gerald C., Robert G. and Kenneth S. Kirkham; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and several brothers and sisters.

Arrangements by: Memory Gardens Mortuary.

Vanetta "Teen" Taylor
A funeral mass for Vanetta "Teen" Taylor will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will be at Jacksonville cemetery. Father Henry Rufo of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will officiate.

Mrs. Taylor, 90, of Medford, died Friday (March 18, 2005).

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association, or to the American Heart Association.

She was born on Sept. 19, 1914 in Dodge City, KS to Oscar Edwin Hitch and Mary Elizabeth (Indiek) Hitch. On Oct. 5, 1948 in Medford she married Henry H. Taylor who preceded her in death Jan. 30, 1989. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1966 from Hawaii.

Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker.

She loved reading, and jewelry making.

Survivors include her sons, Howard Bossingham, Gary Bossingham, and Larry Taylor all of Medford; her daughters, Linda Beard of Medford; and Jois Wisk of Los Angeles, CA; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Delbert Anderson, Jr.
Delbert Anderson Jr., 45 of Medford, died Friday (March 18, 2005) at Providence Medford Medical Center. Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, Medford.

1917- 2005 Ellen Allen passed away in her sleep March 17, 2005. A memorial service is tentatively set for April 9, 2005. A formal obituary will follow at a later date.

Bonnie Inez Arenas
Bonnie Inez Arenas, 61, of Medford, died Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at her home. Private services will be held.

Bonnie was born March 17, 1943. She enjoyed cooking for her family.

Survivors include her children: Nellie Roybal of Medford, Kim Arenas of Tacoma, WA; Gloria Arenas of Medford, and Mario Arenas of Medford; and two grandchildren Andrew Turnbull of Ft. Lewis, WA and Lorenzo Arenas of Medford.

Bret Alan Cunningham
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Bret Alan Cunningham will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 28, at the Eagle Point National cemetery with a reception to follow at the Grange Hall in Eagle Point. A viewing will be from 9 a.m to noon, at Conger Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Bret, 39, of Portland, formerly of White City, died March 12, 2005 in Portland.

He was born on June 24, 1965 in Medford to Jim Seth Cunningham and Jeanette W. (Pennie) Cunningham. He lived in White City all his life. On October 26, 1996 in Central Point, he married Angela R. Edwards who survives.

Bret attended Eagle Point schools.

He served in the U.S. Army in the 3670th Maintenance Co. as a crane operator.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and trips to the coast every year on his birthday.

In addition to his wife, Angie, survivors include his two sons, Cody Alan Cunningham and Calvin Seth Cunningham; his daughter, Kahlia Ann Cunningham; sisters, Tammy, Kim, Debbie, Vera, and Stella; his brothers, Jim, Greg, and Steven; and numerous others that Bret considered family.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.
