Joe E. Englehart
The funeral service for Joe Edward Englehart will be today, Tuesday, at 11:30 a.m. in the Memory Gardens Mortuary Chapel. The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. today in the Eagle Point National Cemetey.

Mr. Englehart, 78, of Medford, died Friday, April 1, 2005.

He was born Jan. 29, 1927 in Pennsboro, WV. On Aug. 8, 1959 in Compton, CA he married Nellie F. Buchanan, who preceded him in death in 2003.

Mr. Englehart had lived in the Rogue Valley since 1972, moving here from San Jose, CA., where he was a technician in the aerospace industry.

He was a founding member of the "Rogue River Ratchet Jaws" and enjoyed building model trains. He was a member of Faith Bible Center.

Mr. Englehart had served in the US Army during WWII.

Survivors include: two daughters, Donna M. Ford of Central Point and Diane Tombyll of Riverside, CA; five sons, Tom J. of Medford, David M. of Grants Pass, Tim A. of Phoenix, OR, Charles J. of White City and Joseph of Riverside, CA; one brother, Cas Englehart of Downey, CA; 26 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 380 SE Spokane #110, Portland, OR 97202.

Phyllis Williams
Phyllis Williams, born 1926, a daughter of the late Thomas and Eleanor Williams of Phoenix, OR, died March 21, 2005 in Portland.

She attended Phoenix and Medford schools and was a graduate of the University of Oregon.

She is survivied by sisters, Rhoda Williams of Ashland, Charity Small of Seattle, and brother Christopher of Portland; five nephews, one niece, one grand-niece and one grand-nephew.

Allen J. Cam, 86, of White City, died Sunday (April 3, 2005) at his home. Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, Medford.

Antoinette McCurdy, 91, of Medford, died Sunday (April 3, 2005) at Providence Medford Medical Center. Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.

Virginal Louise McClearen
Virginia Louise McClearen, 77, of Shady Cove, died Sunday (April 3, 2005) at Providence Medford Medical Center. Arrangements: Perl Funeral Home, Medford.

Virginia I. Cox
The visitation for Virginia Isabella Cox will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today in the Memory Gardens Mortuary, Bellinger and Arnold Lane, Medford.

Allenby John Cam
Born January 28, 1919, in Creston, British Columbia, Canada to parents George and Elizabeth Cam, "Allen, " the youngest of seven brothers and sisters, grew up in Canada. In 1942, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force where he was a tail gunner in a Lancaster Bomber. He completed 18 missions over Germany during the Battle of Britain. During that stay in England, in 1945 he met and married Rita Durham.

After the war, Allen and Rita moved to Princeton, British Columbia, and were involved in the logging industry until 1951. In 1952, they moved to Los Angeles California, then to Canyonville, Oregon. They moved to the Medford area in 1962 then to White City where they had made their home for the last 42 years. Prior to his retirement in 1984, Allen drove log truck for RB Browns Trucking for 20 years.

Allen is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rita; eldest son, Brian and his wife, Myra of Brownsboro; son, Phillip of Medford; granddaughter, Erhan; grandsons, Blake, Jordan, and Tyler; and great-granddaughter Ashia.

A memorial to celebrate the life of Allen Cam will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, at Trail Christian Fellowship, Main Sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local hospice.

Doris E. Phipps Edell
A graveside service for Doris Ellen Phipps Edell will be at 3 p.m. today, Friday, April 8, at the VA National cemetery, Eagle Point.

Mrs. Edell passed away Saturday (April 2, 2005) in Mesa, AZ. She was 85 years two months old.

Survivors include a younger sister, Violet NcNutt of Washington; five children, James O. Hansen of Washington, Marvin A. Hansen of Washington, Carol J. Hansen Petersen of AZ, Daniel C. Hansen of Idaho and John H. Hansen of Oregon; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three children, and three husbands.

Jill Vernal Layton
A memorial service for Jill Vernal Layton, 43, who passed away Friday, March 25, will be at 1 p.m. today, Friday, April 8, 2005 at the Applegate Christian Fellowship.

Lauren D. Hardy
Aug. 26, 1937 - March 29, 2005

Lauren was a beloved husband to Sue; a father to Dawnie and Carri; a brother to Dagmar and B.W.; a grandfather to Missy, Sarah, Lauren, Max and Nick; a great-grandfather to D3; and an uncle to Tom & Matt.

He leaves behind his beloved dogs/ companions, Goldie and Nugget, but, will be forever with his other faithful pets, Leggs, Sassy, Sparkle, Wiggles, Jewels, and The Beauty.

Lauren loved gardening, "Running the show, " and knowing it all! We feel very lucky to have known and been loved by him. We all will miss his wicked sense of humor and his practical jokes.

We are all grateful that he taught us "Life is meant be lived." To all who loved him, please join us in a toast to celebrate his life this summer, (date to be announced). He would have liked that.

Lottie Lines Martin
A memorial service for Lottie Martin will be held at Evans Valley Bible Church on Sat., April 9, 2005, at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Martin was born September 30, 1915, in Redlands, California. She passed away at her home on March 6, 2005, at the age of 89.

Mary Louise Pride
Mary Louise Pride died at her home in the Rogue Valley Manor on April 1, 2005.

She was born in Springfield, Illinois on January 1, 1909 to Harry T. Pride and Lillian H. Pride. Mary Louise graduated from Springfield High School, and served 3½ years in the United States Naval Reserve during World War II. She was a secretary for the Northern Trust Company of Chicago, Illinois until she retired in 1974.

Mary Louise moved to Medford and the Rogue Valley Manor in 1992 and was active in the First Presbyterian Church, until illness precluded her ability to participate in church activities. She sang in church choirs, including the First Presbyterian Choir, for practically her entire active life.

She left no living relatives.

A memorial service will be held at the Rogue Valley Manor on April 8, 2005 at 2 p.m.

Miss Pride requested that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 85 S. Holly Street, Medford, OR 97501.

Richard 'Rick' Gresham Eastin
Richard "Rick" Gresham Eastin, 86, formerly of Medford, passed away on April 5, 2005 at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Lewiston, Idaho. Rick will be remembered for his warm friendly smile, and sense of humor as well as his hard work and dedication to his family.

He was born Sept. 5, 1918 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Paul Franklin and Minnie Fay (Elzea) Eastin. The family moved to San Pedro, California when he was a young boy.

Rick grew up in southern California and graduated from San Pedro High School. He attended Compton Junior College and received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Woodbury College in Los Angeles in 1941. Rick earned his way through school by various odd jobs -- as a service station attendant, an auto supply company clerk, and, he carried holiday mail. He had majored in advertising in college, and previous to WWII, was employed on the national advertising staff of the Los Angeles Examiner and the Long Beach Press Telegram. Rick served in WWII in the United States Coast Guard as a first class Boatswain Mate. After his discharge in 1945, he sold advertising for the San Pedro News Pilot until January 1948. He moved to southern Oregon in 1948 and owned and operated a tourist/fishing resort on the Rogue River until selling that business in 1968. He also owned and operated a wholesale business selling work gloves and hats to retail outlets in southern Oregon and northern California beginning in 1952, until he sold that business and retired in 1980.

Rick married Elizabeth Aileen Miller in 1944, and they raised two children in Oregon. Elizabeth (Aileen) passed away in 1970. In 1972, he married Jessie Ruthe McKissock Brown, and she passed away in 1997. A granddaughter, Catharine Bottger, preceded him in death in 1992. His parents and a brother, Bert Eastin, and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Eastin, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Judy Eastin of Memphis, TN and a daughter and her husband, Susan and Darrel Daniel of Moscow, Idaho, three grandchildren, Matthew Bottger and Candy Ward of Pullman, Washington, and Sarah Eastin of Memphis, TN, and two great grandsons, Adam and Tristan Ward of Pullman, WA.

A graveside service at Memory Gardens in Medford, Oregon is tentatively scheduled for 9 a.m., on Saturday, April 9, 2005. Conger-Morris in Medford is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be made in Rick's memory to the Tri-State Hospital Hospice Program, 1100 Highland Ave., Clarkston, WA 99403.

Alfred Patek, 77, of Ashland, died Monday (April 4, 2005) at a Phoenix Foster Home. Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.

Arthur M. Maggenti
A funeral service for Arthur Mario Maggenti will be at 1 p.m. today, April 8, at Memory Gardens Mortuary. Mr. Maggenti, 88, of Medford, died peacefully Tuesday, April 5, surrounded by his loving family. A full obituary appeared in Thurs., April 7.

Frances Marie Brooks, 84, of Medford, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005 in Denver, CO. Arrangements: Memory Gardens, Mortuary, Medford.

Sunshine Leavitt, 47, of White City, died Monday (April 4, 2005) at her home. Arrangements: Abbey Funeral, Medford.

Valerie Dorothy Grantham
Valerie Dorothy Grantham, 83, of Ashland, died Wednesday (April 6, 2005) at an Ashland Foster Home. Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.

Allen Arvil Holden
A funeral for Allen Arvil Holden will be at 3 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2005 at Conger-Morris Medford Chapel. Pastor J.C. Holden of Murphy Chapel will officiate. Interment will follow in Logtown cemetery, Jacksonville.

Mr. Holden, 55, of Medford died Monday (April 4, 2005) in Medford.

He was born on Jan. 14, 1950 in Dorris, CA to Crafton and Pauline Holden. He lived in Medford, Jacksonville and Talent for the last 45 years. He attended Medford schools.

Mr. Holden worked in construction and sales.

He enjoyed poetry.

Survivors include a son, Julian of Marysville, CA; daughters, Rebecca of Yuba City, CA, Leah of N. Carolina and Chani of Marysville, CA; his mother Pauline; sisters, Novella Lumpkin, Marcella Rice, Linda Straub and Hazel Lee; brothers J.C., Richard, John, Kelley and Halden; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, one sister, Mebaline, and three brothers, Clifford, Steve and Rodney.

Arthur Mario Maggenti
The funeral service for Arthur Mario Maggenti will be at 1 p.m. on Friday in Memory Gardens Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Tim Olson of Bethel Church officiating. Cryptside services will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Medford.

Mr. Maggenti, 88, of Medford, died peacefully Tuesday, April 5, 2005, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Dec. 2, 1916 in Los Angeles, CA. His parents immigrated from Italy and he was very proud of his heritage. On Mar. 29, 1946 in Reno, NV he married Twyla Wilson, whom he had met at an Army dance at Merricks Ballroom in Medford. She preceded him in death in 1993. He had lived in the Rogue Valley since 1942, moving here from Hollywood, CA.

He served in the US Army during WWII and was a Military Policeman at Camp White. Mr. Maggenti traveled to his homeland in Italy in 1990 with his wife and grandchildren, Angela and Kyle Pace.

Mr. Maggenti enjoyed his grandchildren and family life and loved to go bowling.

Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Johnson and Patricia Clark; sister-in-law, Goldie Hubbard and his dear friend, Betty Jo Krug; five grandchildren, Diane Ghiz, Jack Moad, Daryn Clark, Angela Pace, Kandyce Urban; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also preceded in death by a brother, William Maggenti.

Visitation will be today from 3 to 7 p.m. in Memory Gardens Mortuary, Bellinger and Arnold Lane.
