Terry W. Hogue
Terry W. Hogue, 57, of Medford, passed away Friday (April 29, 2005) while on a cruise to the Panama Canal.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2005 at the First Nazarene Church in Medford. Pastor David Grinder will officiate. Interment will take place at Eagle National cemetery in a private service.

Mr. Hogue was born October 25, 1947 in Burbank, California a son of Edwin and Billie (White) Hogue. He was raised in China Lake, CA and attended and graduated from Burroughs High School in Ridgecrest, CA in 1965.

Mr. Hogue served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the Marine Corp from 1965 to 1968. He achieved the rank Sgt. In 1969 in Lakewood, California, he married the former Sharon Mouw who survives. In 1977, the family moved to Medford from Cerritos, Calif.

He was currently employed with Pacific Power as a lineman and a foreman.

Mr. Hogue was an avid sports fan, a 49'er fan, and had coached girls Little League Softball. He enjoyed all women's sporting events.

He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, and IBEW NO 659 (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers).

Terry especially enjoyed spending time with his five grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Traci (Jeff) Thomas, Tamara (Erik) Ilten both of Medford; a, brother, Danny Hogue of Palm Desert, CA; his father Edwin Hogue, of Medford; and five grandchildren, Sydney, Sarah, Gabriel, Jacob and Asher, all of Medford. He was preceded in death by his mother, Billie "White" Hogue.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit of Rouge Valley Medical Center, 2825 E. Barnett Road, Medford, OR 97504 or to the First Church of the Nazarene, 1974 E. McAndrews, Medford, OR 97504.

Charles O. Swingle, 95, (June 1, 1909), died Wednesday (May 4, 2005) in Medford. Arrangments: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Steven Curtis Wright, 52, of Eagle Point, Oregon, died Monday (May 2, 2005) in Talent. Arrangements by Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.

June A. Fleischer
June A. Fleischer, age 87, died April 26, 2005, in Central Point, Oregon.

She was born on June 14, 1917 in Central Point, to John L. and Flora (Atkins) Nealon.

June graduated from Central Point High School in 1935. She married Alan S. Fleischer, her high school sweetheart, on March 16, 1941, in Medford. She lived all her life in the Table Rock area where her family settled to farm in 1883.

She enjoyed fishing, gardening, travel and family.

Survivors include her husband: Alan; children, John of Florence, OR., James of Central Point, OR; sister, Donna Dunn of Central Point, OR; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Inglis in 1983.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Saturday, May 7, 2005 at the Table Rock Bible Church. Arrangements: Perl Funeral Home and Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

Robert L. Dooms
The funeral for Robert L. Dooms will be held 1 p.m., Monday, at the Christian Church of Ashland. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7: p.m. Sunday at the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.

Mr. Dooms, 84, of Phoenix, Oregon died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at the Rogue Valley Medical Center, Medford.

He was born August 20, 1920 in Tacoma, Washington a son of Gladys and Henry Dooms. The family moved to Medford in 1925 and to Ashland in 1936.

From 1940 to 1964, Mr. Dooms served in the United States Navy as an aviation machinist. In 1964 he returned to Ashland where he worked in the custodial department of the former Southern Oregon State College, now Southern Oregon University. He retired in 1982.

On August 31, 1944 at Ashland, he married the former Olive Davis who survives. Mr. and Mrs. Dooms moved to Phoenix, Oregon in 1988.

Mr. Dooms enjoyed traveling and stamp collecting and was a member of the American Legion.

Surviving in addition to his wife are: two sons, Robert L. Dooms Jr. of Portland and William A. Dooms of Phoenix, OR; two daughters, Alice Marie Boatwright of Pottstown, PA and Donna May Carrier of Portland, OR; one sister, Ruth Susich of Ashland; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Church of Ashland, 318 B. Street, Ashland, Oregon 97520.

Shirley Jean Smith
Shirley Jean Smith, 75, of Medford, died Thursday (May 5, 2005) at Alterra Wynwood. Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, Medford.

Darlene Branham
Darlene Mae Branham, 66, of Central Point, died at home May 5, 2005.

A funeral service will be held at the Conger-Morris Cental Point Chapel with a committal service to follow at the Eagle Point National cemetery on Tuesday, May 10, at 1 p.m. A visitation will be held at the Conger-Morris Central Point Chapel Monday, from 5-7:30 p.m.

She was born on Oct 17, 1938, in Medford, a daughter of William and Jessie Chambers Norling. She married Clifford Branham on May 12, 1985 in Reno, NV.

Mrs. Branham had worked for the 3M Corp in White City for 25 years.

She was a gardener, and loved Reno, gambling and spending time going on trips, camping with children.

She is survived by her husband Clifford; three children, Stanley K. Turk of Central Point, Leanna Hopkins of Smith River, CA, and Kimberly Omelara of Medford; brothers; Richard Norling of Sprague River, OR, and Dale Norling of Butte Falls; and three grandchildren.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Central Point Chapel.

DeLoris Pollard
DeLoris Pollard, age 89, passed from our world peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of May 5, 2005.

DeLoris greeted everyone she met with a smile and a twinkle in her eye. Her quiet joy and peace with life was contagious. In addition to her immediate family, DeLoris was looked upon as a "mother" and "grandmother" by a large extended family. Also included in this extended family was her church. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Medford. She was active in her church family as both a volunteer and parishioner.

DeLoris found joy in the simplest of what life has to give. Needlework, Christian music, cookies and ice cream were among her passions.

Deloris was born on September 27, 1915 in Minneapolis, MN, to Wesley D. and Sina (Heimdahl) Durkee. Her early years were spent as a teacher in Wolfcreek, Oregon. She worked for the ward department in Chicago. She then moved to Seattle, Washington, where she met her future husband, John A. Pollard. They moved to Michigan where they lived for 18 years, until John retired. They then moved back to the Rogue Valley. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Oregon State Extension Office, until her retirement.

Survivors include: daughters: Pamela Harding and Joyce Washbish; three grandchildren, William and Wesley Washbisb, and Tina Jones; and four great-grandchildren: Vanessa, Renee, Austin, and Marianna. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Pollard.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at 11 a.m., at the Perl Funeral Home, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd. There will be a private viewing on Tuesday. A celebration of life will be announced. Interment will be in the Siskiyou Memorial Park.

Dollye "Evelyn" Skelton
Dollye "Evelyn" Skelton, beloved mother and friend, went home to her Lord on May 5th, 2005. She was born in Greenwood, MS on May 2, 1924.

She will be laid to rest during a graveside service at 1 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2005, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford, OR. The service is open to all who wish to attend.

"Evelyn" as she preferred to be called, was baptized a Methodist at age 12 and later moved to California after turning 18. She worked as a riveter during World War II and in various medical occupations. She loved riding on the back of motorcycles to work at air bases during that time, as well as enjoying the occasional ride in an open-cockpit airplane.

She was Lead Cashier at McClellan Field and belonged to the Women's Auxiliary Army Corp.

Evelyn lived to raise her four children and see us all grow into successful adults.

She enjoyed gardening, quilting, collecting and reading in her later years. Best of all, she enjoyed helping others. Far from perfect, she always tried to do her best with what she had been given in grace, compassion, mercy, love and intelligence.

Evelyn was a former member of the Providence Guild, VFW Auxiliary, Daughters of the Confederacy, and RVMC Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughter, The Reverend Catherine Skelton Windsor, her caregiver for the past 15 years; her second son, Jonathan David of Portland, Oregon; her granddaughter, Danielle David-Spencer of Medford; her oldest son, Steven David of Phoenix, Oregon; her grandson, Jeremy David of Phoenix, Oregon; her oldest daughter, Joselyn Houk of Bend, Oregon; her oldest grandson, Justin Houk of Portland, Oregon; and her only great-granddaughter, Amelia Lauren Houk also of Portland. She was preceded in death by her four brothers and two sisters, as well as her husband and our father, Victor J. David.

We wish to give thanks to the skilled nursing and Certified Nursing Assistants at Rogue Valley Medical Center for the wonderful and exceptional care given to our mother intermittently over the first part of this year. You are all to be commended for your exceptional care and attention to what makes Asante and RVMC a good medical center. We wish to especially thank the nursing and certified nursing assistance staff of Wing 3 TCU at Hearthstone of Medford for their outstanding love, compassion and skill toward our mother during her stay there. We also wish to thank the Asante Hospice staff and nurses who tended to our mother during her last days with us, all of you made the difference.

We extend a special wish of gratitude to Dr. Stephen L. Nelson, MD and his staff for the care, kindness, love and humor they always showed our mother.

In lieu of flowers please send generous contributions in her name to the American Heart Association, Asante Hospice, Asante Pastoral Care, or Trinity Episcopal Church of Ashland.

Louise "Fay" McGonagle
A memorial service for Louise "Fay" McGonagle will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at the Assembly of God Church in Shady Cove.

Mrs. McGonagle, 77, of Plains, Montana, (formerly of the Rogue Valley), passed away April 27, 2005.

She was born August 1, 1927, in El Paso, TX. On Nov. 23, 1957 in Santa Ana, CA she married David McGonagle who survives. In 1962 they moved to Oregon.

Fay worked at Miller's Egg Ranch for 27 years. In 1993 they retired and moved to Montana. They were married for 47 years.

She loved to bowl, crochet and was also a devoted Catholic.

In addition to her husband, David, survivors include four sons, Gary and Fr. James Neiblas, Mike and David McGonagle; four daughters, Toni Dyer, Darnell Young, Jacqueline Peyton and Patti Richards; 27 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

Fay will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

William Bruce "Bill" Byran
October 30, 1946 - April 15, 2005

William "Bill" Bryan was born in Manhattan, Kansas to William J. and Edith Elnor Bryan, the eldest of five siblings. He grew up in Topeka, Kansas, southern Utah and Cave Junction, Oregon, where he attended high school.

Bill served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1970, where he proudly served in the U.S. and in Germany. After the service, Bill moved back to Topeka, Kansas where he met and married his current wife Abbie Gail Powell on Oct. 4, 1986, who survives. They honeymooned across country to make their home in Medford.

For 15 years, Bill enjoyed working for the Rogue Valley Manor as a building maintenance engineer.

Out of his love for the Nevada desert, he founded the Desert Rats camping expeditions.

Bill had the awesome ability to capture the glory of God in his beautiful scenic photography. He was a former member of the Southern Oregon Photographic Association, where he won numerous ribbons and awards for his "Creation Splendor" photography.

For fifteen years Bill and Abbie were former members at Reese Creek Christian Center, where Bill served as a Deacon. Bill's most current church home was New Song Church, Holly Street chapel in Medford, where his wife is still attending. He and Abbie were involved with the Rogue Valley Intercessory Prayer group and the Medford Healing Room Ministries of Medford. In 2001, God moved all Heaven and earth to reunite Bill with his twin sons, William Bruce, Jr. and Jon Paul Bryan. In January 2002 a blood disorder called TTP totally destroyed his kidneys; in August 2004, Bill was diagnosed with Cancer of the bone marrow and lymphatic system. At age 58, on April 15, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. he ascended his earthly body to be with Jesus.

In addition to his wife, Abbie, survivors include twin sons, William Bruce, Jr., and Jon Paul; two grandchildren, Brittany Nichole and Sebastian Bradley Bryan, all of Florida; his mother, Edith Elnor Higgins; his father, William Jennings Bryan, both of Kansas; one brother, Randall "Randy" Bryan of Central Point; and three sisters, Rita Fincher of Medford, Lois Kershaw of Snowqualmie, WA, and Beth Dickson of Topeka, KS.

A Memorial service will held Sunday, May 15, 2005 at 3 p.m. at New Song Church, 520 N. Holly St., Medford. Potluck to follow.

At families request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for help with expenses may be made to New Song Church, Bill Bryan Memorial Fund, 520 N. Holly, Medford, OR 97501 or to Abbie Bryan, P.O. Box 544, Medford, OR 97501.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Dean Raniele and Dr. Susan Kohler for their excellent compassionate professional care and to all those who loved, transported, cared for and visited. We would like to thank all the folks at the Rogue Valley Dialysis Center for their helpful kind loving care. We would also like to thank the Healing Room Ministries, New Song Church, and all those who faithfully prayed for our precious Bill. We will be forever grateful.

To our beloved, peaceful warrior, we must say good-bye for now. You will be missed!
