Betty Baker
Betty Baker, 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2005 after a two year battle with cancer with her children, Beth and Jeff and family friend, Nedra by her side.

She was born on September 25, 1935 in St. Louis, Mo.

Betty was employed by the American Cancer Society in Medford. She loved all aspects of her job but, by far, her favorite part was the contact with other cancer survivors. She was easily brought to tears as she "held the hands" of many women battling cancer.

Those who knew and loved Betty were often the recipients of her infamous one-liners or found themselves "patiently" sitting through one of her seemingly endless and painfully detailed stories. Her grace and humor easily carried her from the country club to a dimly lit jazz club where you could find her dancing the night away.

Her husband of 43 years, Charles Baker, her brother, William; her mother, Frances and father, William, preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Beth of Central Point; her sons, Brian of Wamego, KS, and Jeff of Modesto, CA; grandchildren, Travis, Laci and Charlie; and a sister, Mary Ann of Chicago.

Mom, you were too young and way too much fun to be taken away so soon. It is an honor to be your child and you will be eternally loved and missed.

A life celebration will be held in the near future.
