Rt. Rev. Charles Lee Burgreen, 81, of Medford, died January 20, 2006 at his home.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 26, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church.

Ruby Ray Winegar, 96, of Ashland, died January 22, 2006.

Melvin L. Kirkendall
The graveside service for Melvin L. Kirkendall will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2006, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2201 N. Phoenix Rd., Medford with Pastor Paul Hagedorn officiating.

Mr. Kirkendall, 81, former Medford resident, died Monday, January 23, 2006, in Milwaukie, Oregon. He was born November 16, 1924 in Lacygne, Kansas to Orin and Elsie Kirkendall. On May 5, 1946, in Ottawa, Kansas, he married the former Joan Snyder who died in 1995.

He attended Ottawa University where he was a member of the Sigma Delta Pi Fraternity. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in England during WW II flying missions over Europe. After receiving a Purple Heart he stayed and served as an instructor training new crews.

Mr. Kirkendall worked for his father in the wholesale oil business and built new houses before moving to Lake Oswego in 1953. He traveled for Berliners and Hoag Brothers Furnisher and then for Sears in Portland. After two years he was transferred to Longview, Washington and then to the Medford Sears store where he retired in 1981.

In Longview he was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and held several offices in the Cowlitz County Sheriff's Posse working his way up to Captain. He enjoyed motor home travelling and was a long time member of Family Motor Coach Assoc. and the Northwestern and British Columbia Bus Nuts.

Two sons, Joe and Gary, also preceded him in death.

Rosalie Windom
Rosalie Windom was born October 7, 1948. Her courageous fight against cancer began in May of 1998 and ended January 22, 2006.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Sheila and son-in-law Andrew; her two precious grandchildren, Dylan and McKenna. She also leaves behind three brothers: LeRoy (Julee), Marvin (Denelda) and Bill (Mary); three sisters: Diane (Herman), Leona and Beatrice (John). She was preceded in death by her husband Darell, her mother Rosalie, and her brother Joseph. She also leaves loving and caring aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She loved to play cards and spoil her grandkids. They were the love of her life.

She was born in Oakland, CA. She married Darell in February of 1969 and they moved to Paisley, OR. in 1970 then to White City in 1975. She loved all of her family and always enjoyed family get-togethers. She will be truly missed.

Services will be held at Perl Siskiyou Funeral Home at 2100 Siskiyou Blvd. Viewing will be held January 27, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Service immediately following.

Ruby Ray Perry Winegar
Ruby Ray Perry Winegar passed away January 22, 2006 in Ashland, Oregon. Ruby was born November 2, 1909 in Neapolis, Ohio. She had 6 children by her first marriage. She married Joseph Smith Winegar on August 24, 1954. This union was later solemnized in the LDS Temple in Medford, Oregon. Joseph also had 6 children and together they became a blended family. She will be lovingly missed by her children, Jeanine Christy of Delta, Ohio, AnneMarie Astle, Orem, Utah, Ramona Gudzan, Stockton, CA., William Stotts, Bella Vista, CA., Joann Winegar, Medford, Oregon, and Larene Garza, Stockton, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, and two sons, Jimmy Gene Stotts, and Gilbert Stotts. She was grandmother and great grandmother to over 200 children.

Janet Mathilda Haselden, 79, of Keaau, Hawaii passed away on Monday, January 23, 2006 at her residence. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary, Inc.

Joseph J. Kocsis, 87, of Medford, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at his home. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 27, 2006 at 8:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Ardis Lee Ehlers
Ardis Lee Ehlers age 64 of Gold Hill died Monday January 23, 2006 at Hearthstone in Medford.

Ardis was born on July 12, 1941 at Marquette, Kansas to Allen Hughes and Ruby West Hughes.

Ardis worked as a truck driver most of her life and enjoyed driving all over the United States.

She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards with her grandson and working on puzzles. She loved to go rafting on the Rogue River with her long time friend. She also liked to build and repair things around the house.

She is survived by her son Rick Ehlers and his wife Dina of Eagle Point; a grandson Boston Ehlers and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by her son Mark Ehlers and her parents.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday February 4, 2006 2:00 p.m. at Running Salmon Park; 205 Garden Row in Gold Hill.

Wilma Gertrude McLean
Wilma Gertrude McLean passed away peacefully at her home in Central Point on Friday, January 27, 2006 at the age of 99. Wilma was born March 28, 1906 in Clarks, Nebraska to her parents Lee and Jessie Mustard. She grew up in the Midwest and then they moved to Phoenix, Arizona. She worked as office manager for the Stapley Company and on July 5, 1928 she married George Washington McLean who died in 1963.

In May of 1937, Wilma and her family moved to Grants Pass, Oregon. While living in Grants Pass she was an active member of the First Baptist Church. She was a member of the church choir for many years. After moving to Medford in 1984, Wilma became a member of the Eastwood Baptist Church.

Wilma is survived by three sons, Keith of Medford, Kerwin of Phoenix and Duane of Medford; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a sister, Elma Mitchell and a son, Douglas McLean.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 1st at Perl/Siskiyou Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be held at the Eastwood Baptist Church, 675 N. Keenway Dr. rather than at Myra Lynne Mobile Home Park as previously stated.

Eva Madaline Garnier
Eva Madaline Garnier, 80, was born on June 4, 1925 in Medford, Oregon, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 28, 2006. She lived all her life in Medford. She worked at the Oregon Bank as a teller until her retirement. On November 22, 1974, she married her husband, Ray, who preceded her in death.

Remaining family includes: Max (Arlene), Rex (Hazel) of Central Point and Ruth (Tom) Hardic of Grants Pass.

Family member who preceded Eva were her parents, Ernest and Grace Goble; brothers, Victor, Oris, and Wendell Goble; sisters, Lola Beaman and Vivian Starky.

Eva loved her Lord and was a joyful testimony of His love.

A memorial service will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene, Thursday at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made out to the Building Fund at the First Church of the Nazarene.

Sherman Monroe Spears
Sherman Spears, 81, passed away on January 25, 2006 in Medford. There will be a memorial service held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2006 at Perl Funeral Home and Siskiyou Memorial Park.

Sherman was born on May 1, 1924 in Crowder, Oklahoma and moved to Oregon in 1947. He then came to Medford and founded Sherm's Screen Printing in 1958. It is known today as Spearco Graphics and is owned and operated by his grandson, Jerry Spears.

Sherman was an avid archerer and founded "The Northwest Archery Magazine" in 1954-1960. Sherman was an excellent artist and had his own comic strip called "Nob Knee" for the Tulsa World Newspaper. Sherman enjoyed photography, fishing, camping and hunting.

Survivors include his loving wife, Shirley; sister, Martha; sons, Morrie and Gary Spears; grandchildren, Jerry, Jacqueline, Robbie, Jesse and Gary; and eight great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his sister, Hester and his brother, James.

The family would like to give deep appreciation to Providence Hospice and to Morieta Miller from the Adult Foster Home for the compassionate care they gave our beloved husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa.

William Earl Thomas
A memorial service was held for William (Bill) Earl Thomas of Ashland at 2:00 on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at Trinity Church, 44 No. 2nd Street, Ashland. Bill died on January 27th at a local foster care home.

Bill was born in Phoenix, AZ, on May 1, 1921, the oldest of 3 children.

At the beginning of WWII, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and trained as a navigator/bombadier. The day after his graduation from flight school, he married Lois Manley. He was stationed in Bury St. Edmonds, England, with the 94th Bomb Group. At the end of the war he was discharged and graduated from UC Berkeley. He was recalled during the Korean War and remained in the Air Force for a total of 24 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He moved to Ashland in 1992 and was active as an OSF volunteer, in the Early Bird Lions Club and as a Meals on Wheels deliverer.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Lois, and by his children Diana Quirk of Ashland, Francie Thomas of Tacoma, WA, Rich Thomas of Port Townsend, WA, and Patty Tindall of Jonesboro, AR. He has four grandchildren, David Quirk, Elena Oberg, Lyndsey Tindall and Matthew Tindall and one great grandson, Rilo Oberg, born on Bill's 84 birthday, last year. He is also survived by his sisters Fern Ross and Zona Doran.

The family requests that memorials be made to Trinity Respite Center, 905 Skylark Place, Ashland, OR, 97520.
