Robert M. Evans
The memorial service for Robert M. Evans will be on Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Jacksonville Presbyterian Church with Pastor Larry Jung officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Medford, OR.

Mr. Evans, 75, of Central Point, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005. He was born July 14, 1929 in Mountain Top, PA. He married Helen S. Scherff on Oct. 10, 1953 in Mamaroneck, NY, who survives.

He lived in the Rogue Valley for the past 4½ years, moving here from Peoria, IL where he lived for 40 years. He worked for Proctor and Gamble from 1954 to 1969 and was president of Graham Robert Associates from 1969 until he retired.

He had been active in the Mossville Methodist Church in Peoria and worked with the Prison Ministry, Marriage Encounter and Cursillo. He was a member of the Republican Party (Central Committeeman). He enjoyed sailing, singing and hiking.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Helen S.; a daughter, Lynn Reordan of Jacksonville; a son, Bruce Evans of San Diego, CA; a sister, Marilyn Carroll of Ewing, NJ and three grandchildren, Bret, Breanna and Trevor.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jacksonville Presbyterian Church, c/o Building Fund, PO Box 297, Jacksonville, OR 97530.

Walt Krupp, Jr.
Walt Krupp, Jr. 67, of Wimer, died Thursday (Feb. 17, 2005) at his home. Arrangements: Grants Pass Funeral Alternatives, Grants Pass.

Adeline Lewandowski
Adeline Lewandowski passed away on March 18, 2006 at her home in Medford, Oregon. There will be a viewing on Sunday, March 26, 2006 from 3pm-6pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park - 773-6162. Then on Monday, March 27, 2006 a Catholic Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father Andrew Thomas will be officiating.

Adeline Majcherek was born on December 4, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois. She married Chester Lewandowski on July 10, 1943. She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Her hobbies include biking, writing poetry, playing piano, and corresponding with many friends from Chicago and Poland.

Survivors include sisters Emily Karp, Jean Gadomski, and Wanda Majcherek, all from Chicago, Illinois; children, Alan Lewandowski of Medford, Oregon, Christine Lewandowski (Karsten Rasmussen) of Eugene, Oregon and Andrea Walker (Jack) of Phoenix, Oregon; grandchildren, Ethan Rasmussen, Robert Dickson, Carolee Scott (Justin), , Michael Walker (Deborah) and Joseph Walker (Christina); great grandchildren, Christian and Ava Walker of Portland, Oregon. Preceding her in death were her husband Chester on October 12, 2001; brother, Frank; and sister, Theresa.

Bertha Fay Robinson
Bertha Fay Robinson, 97, of Central Point died March 20, 2006 in Medford.

Bertha was born February 27, 1909 in Orchards, Wash. to Martin L. and Bertha (Mobley) Kays. She moved to Southern Oregon in 1952. On August 27, 1935 in Reno, Nev. she married John J. Robinson who passed away in 1995.

Bertha was a homemaker and she loved to cook and crochet.

She is survived by her sons, David, Larry and Gary of Central Point; daughters, Barbara Morton of Medford and Judy Starbuck of Central Point; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Donald Robinson and one brother, Milo Kays.

Dolores Hilda Mefford
Dolores Hilda Mefford, 78, of Medford died March 20, 2006.

Dolores was born September 30, 1927 in Grand Junction, Colo., a daughter of John and Chrissie Osborne. She married Oscar Hayes Mefford on October 22, 1950 in White Fish, Mont. She enjoyed sewing and loved to read.

Survivors include her son, Randall L. Mefford and his wife, Candace; brother, Marvin Osborne of Bird City, Kans.; sister, Dixie Marchaudo of Sandpoint, Idaho; grandchildren, Thomas, Owen, Alexandria, Cynthia and Cheyenne Mefford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar.

Arrangements are with Perl Funeral Home and Siskiyou Memorial Park.

Jeanne M. Kowalski
Jeanne M. Kowalski, 86, died March 16, 2006, in Ashland, Oregon. She was born May 12, 1919 in West Lafayette, Indiana to Alpha and Elsie (Marshall) Morehouse. In 1938 she married Robert Scifres. Together they had six children. The family moved frequently, living in Indiana, Arkansas, Texas, Alabama, Massachusetts, New York, Michigan, and Kansas. In 1969 she married Stanley Kowalski, who predeceased her in 1994. She lived in the Buffalo, New York area from 1969 until 2003, when she moved to Ashland to be near family.

Jeanne was a wonderful cook who enjoyed making holiday meals for her family and creating parties for special occasions. She passed along a lifelong love of gardening to her children. She enjoyed square dancing, golf, and bowling. More recently, she spent her time reading, doing crosswords and looking after Peaches, the cat.

She is survived by her children, Linda O'Donnell of Matamoras, Pa., Caryl Osgood of Medford, Cynthia McKee of Ashland, Dianne Dunfield of Corvallis, Robert Scifres of Little Elm, Tex., Michael Scifres of Rhome, Tex., 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; her sister Peggy Klaverenga of Lafayette, Ind., and brother Alpha Morehouse of Muscatine, Iowa, and Alan Morehouse of West Lafayette, Ind.

A family memorial service will be held on March 25, 2006 in Ashland.

Memorial contributions may be made to Committee Alliance to Strays (CATS) in Medford or the charity of your choice.

LeRoy L. Regester
The memorial service for LeRoy L. Regester will be Sunday, March 26, 2006 at 2 p.m.

Mr. Regester, 86, of Pinole, formerly of Central Point, died March 20, 2006 at his home in Pinole, Calif.

He was born March 16, 1920 in Milford, Nebr., adopted by Harry and Mildred Regester. Mr. Regester attended schools in Rooks County, Kans. and continued to live there after his marriage to Neva M. Manaugh in 1939. After the war years they moved to Oregon to help his parents.

Mr. Regester was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years in 2005. LeRoy Regester is survived by his son, Larry Regester and wife, Lynda of Medford; daughter, Patricia Skillman and husband, Steve of El Sobrante, CA; daughter, Nannette Eggleston and husband, Fred of Maui, Hawaii; grandchildren, Gary Regester, Gerri & Scott Davis, Heather Tresham, Kevin & Megan Tresham, Lori Skillman, Stephanie & John Jones, Allissa & William Edwards and Tony Beebe; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Davis, Taylor Thomas, Kalen and Mason Tresham, Richie Skillman, Vincent Edwards, and Aubrey and Ashley Beebe.

Mr. Regester was a World War II veteran with the 869th Field Artillery Battalion. He saw duty in Rhineland, Germany and Central Europe during his WWII tour of service.

Arrangements through: Wilson & Kratzer, Civic Center Chapel, Richmond, California. Internment will be at Eagle Point National cemetery, Eagle Point, Oregon.

Susan Carol Coomler
Susan Carol Coomler peacefully passed away at Providence Hospital in Medford, Oregon on Thursday, March 23, 2006.

“Susie, ” to those who knew and loved her, passionately loved people, animals, music, dancing, singing and laughter.

Susie was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Schneck and her father, Dick Lundquist.

She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Michael Coomler; her sisters, Denise McDonald and Judy McClaren; her beloved children, Jason Harrison, Jennifer Harrison and William Mitchell; and her dearly loved stepmother, Betty Lundquist. Susie also leaves behind her much adored grandchildren, Stephanie Stewart, Andrea Stewart, Melody Dependahl, Chandler, Conner and Claire Lynn Harrison, Gracie and Gage Mitchell, Travis Coomler, Josh and Justina Coomler and Tiana Coomler.

A celebration of Susie's life will be at the Elks Lodge at 202 North Central Ave., Medford, Oregon on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Elks Lodge Charity fund to be distributed per Susan's wishes.

Timothy William Grant
Timothy William Grant, age 46, was born at George Air Force Base, California, on April 16, 1959. He died in Portland, Oregon, on March 20, 2006, while visiting family and friends.

He moved to Medford with his family in March of 1960. He attended Sacred Heart grade school, Hedrick Junior high school and graduated from Medford Senior high school in 1977. He attended the University of Oregon and Southern Oregon State College. He loved anything connected with the outdoors, but his real passions were skiing and bicycling. He had lived in Portland for the last 15 years working in the bicycling business and also commercial real estate.

In addition to his parents, Robert and Joy Grant, he is survived by five siblings, Maureen (Ives) of Salem, New Jersey, Donald Grant of Sacramento, California, Ann (Johnson) of Portland, Oregon, Sarah (Price) of Portland, Oregon, Kerry (Avalon) of Medford; and his best friend and companion of 20 years, Leslie Ross of Portland, Oregon.

A memorial service is being held on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
