Deloris Fay Stover

Deloris Fay Stover died Dec. 31, 2000, at age 79. Visitations were held. Mrs. Stover was born Feb. 26, 1921, in Milbank, S.D. Her maiden name was Moser. She moved to Portland in 1949. She was a homemaker and then a cook for Portland Public Schools' central kitchens for about six years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. She married Lindy LeRoy Stover in 1951.

Survivors include her husband; son, David; daughter, Janice L. Espadal; brother, Virgil Moser; and sisters, Geraldine Kropuenske and Viona Carr.

Interment is in Willamette National cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to her church. Arrangements are by Portland Memorial Funeral Home.

Eleanore June Sturgeon

A service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, in Willamette National cemetery for Eleanore June Sturgeon, who died Jan. 5 at age 73. Mrs. Sturgeon was born Dec. 4, 1927, in Nebraska. Her maiden name was Wright. She moved to Salem as a child and then to Oregon City, where she graduated from Oregon City High School in 1945. She was a production worker for Mail-Well Envelope for 25 years, retiring in 1990. In the early 1960s, she married William Sturgeon; he died in 1968.

Survivors include her son, Wayne C. Lowther; and one grandchild.

Arrangements are by Family Memorial Mortuary.

Helen Hammond Weibel

Helen Hammond Weibel died Jan. 1, 2001, at 87. No service will be held. Mrs. Weibel was born May 12, 1913, in Yacolt, Wash. Her maiden name was Hammond. She was an office worker at Carter Rice Paper Co. until retiring and lived in Lake Oswego for 60 years.

Survivors include her sister, Phyllis Cloud, and nieces and nephews.

Interment is in Sunset Hills Memorial Park. The family suggests remembrances to Gales Creek Camp of Lake Oswego. Arrangements were by Finley's Sunset Hills Mortuary.

Marvin Wills

Marvin Wills died Jan. 4, 2001, of cancer at age 70. No service will be held. Mr. Wills was born April 14, 1930, in Loveland, Colo., where he was raised. He moved to Portland in 1935 and was a fence installer. He later owned a fence installation business and retired about 1984. He was known as "Dr. Doolittle" for his love of animals. In 1966, he married Ginny Jachetta.

Survivors include his wife; son, Floyd; daughter, Teresa; adopted daughter, Thi-Linh; and two grandchildren.

Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to Providence Portland Medical Foundation Hospice Fund. Arrangements are by Heritage Memorial.

Ailene R. LaFollette

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, in Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Burns for Ailene R. LaFollette, who died Jan. 6 of a stroke at age 65. Mrs. LaFollette was born Jan. 18, 1935, in Dayton. Her maiden name was Allison. She lived in Washington, D.C., Silver Springs, Md., and San Diego before moving to McMinnville in 1954, and later to Gresham and Hillsboro. She was a homemaker. In 1977, she moved to Burns, where she was a licensed funeral director and owned LaFollette's Chapel with her husband until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of the church. In 1954, she married James L. LaFollette; he died in 1989.

Survivors include her sons, David J., Craig J. and Brian R.; mother, LeVonne Waller; sister, Shirley Olson; and five grandchildren.

Interment is in Burns cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to the Willamette-Columbia Parkinsonian Society. Arrangements are by LaFollette's Chapel in Burns.

Cornelius Wilson Lane Jr.

Cornelius Wilson Lane Jr. died Dec. 4, 2000, of a stroke at age 55. A service was held. Mr. Lane was born Sept. 10, 1945, in Longview, Wash. He graduated from the University of Washington. He lived in Portland from 1973 to 1988 and was a civil deputy for Multnomah County for nine years. He was later a history teacher at Spraings Academy in California. In 1967, he married Barbara Skreen.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Demitri and Marcus; sister, Patricia Wells and one grandchild.

Interment was at Hubbard-Whittler cemetery in Castle Rock, Wash. Arrangements are by Hubbard Funeral Home in Castle Rock.

The Rev. M. Handel Price

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, in Portland Christian Center for the Rev. M. Handel Price, who died Jan. 6 at age 84. The Rev. Price was born Sept. 28, 1916, in Aberdare, Wales. He received a doctoral degree in mining engineering and later graduated from Hampstead Bible College in London. In 1960, he immigrated to the United States and lived in Southern California from 1965 until moving in 1999 to Tualatin. He was a minister with the Assemblies of God and wrote several books. In 1945, he married Florence Kemp.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Keith and Nigel; daughters, Joy Wilson and Moira Price; and six grandchildren.

Private interment will be in Sunset Hills Memorial Park. The family suggests remembrances to a memorial fund in his name at Portland Christian Center. Arrangements are by Finley's Sunset Hills Mortuary.

Charles William Reckers

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, in St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Beaverton for Charles William Reckers, who died Jan. 7 at age 83. Recitation of the rosary will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, in Pegg, Paxson & Springer Funeral Home. Mr. Reckers was born Dec. 7, 1917, in Adrian, Minn. He graduated from St. Thomas University in St. Paul, Minn., in 1939. During World War II, he served in the U.S Army Air Corps in the Asiatic Pacific. He worked for Navistar International in Mankato, Minn.; Mason City, Iowa; and Minneapolis before transferring to Portland in 1963. He retired as an internal auditor in 1978 after 38 years with the company. He was a member of the church. In 1941, he married Marge Jones.

Survivors include his wife; son, Steven; daughter, Karen McKenna; sister, Cecilia Entwisle; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Catholic cemetery mausoleum. The family suggests remembrances to the American Heart Association.

Alice M. Richman

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, in Rose City Funeral Home for Alice M. Richman, who died Jan. 4 at age 94. Mrs. Richman was born Jan. 28, 1906, in Courtenay, N.D., and was raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. Her maiden name was Bittner. She moved in 1939 to Portland and later lived in Milton-Freewater and Troy, returning in the mid-1980s to Portland. She was a homemaker. In 1925, she married Charles Moyer; he died in 1958. She married Arlo Richman in 1964; he died in 1985.

Survivors include her daughters, Ann Spore and Charlotte Mishler; sons, Donald Moyer and Roy Moyer; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Her son Marvin Moyer died in 1990.

Interment will be in Rose City cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to the American Heart Association.

Emily P. Scofield

Emily P. Scofield died Dec. 25, 2000, of Alzheimer's disease at age 85. A private service was held. Mrs. Scofield was born Nov. 28, 1915, in Le Roy, Ill., and moved to Portland in 1928. Her maiden name was Cosby. She was a homemaker. She moved in 1971 to Sisters, where she was a member of the Church of Christ. In 1936, she married Arthur Elroy Scofield.

Survivors include her husband; son, Harold E.; daughter, Rosemary Puderbaugh; and three grandchildren.

Interment is in Camp Polk cemetery in Sisters. The family suggests remembrances to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements were by Autumn Funeral Home in Bend.

Ellen M. Struchen

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, in First Presbyterian Church for Ellen M. Struchen, who died Jan. 6 at age 68. Mrs. Struchen was born Feb. 10, 1932, in Newberg. Her maiden name was Smith. She was a homemaker and lived in Spokane for more than 35 years before moving to Vancouver, Wash., in 1989. In 1964, she married John L. Struchen.

Survivors include her husband; sons, John W., Dale R., Daryl D. and Douglas L.; and sister, Myrna F. Faris.

Interment will be in Memory Memorial Park in Vancouver. Arrangements are by Finley's Sunset Hills Mortuary.

Roy Franklin Cooper

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, in Lone Fir cemetery for Roy Franklin Cooper, who died Jan. 4 at age 82. Mr. Cooper was born June 27, 1918, in Joplin, Mo. He was raised in Albuquerque, N.M. He graduated from the University of Southern California and was a mechanical engineer for Sargent Engineering in Huntington Park, Calif., for 42 years until retiring in 1992. He moved to Portland in 1998. In 1949, he married Novella Thompson.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Pamela; brother, James L.; sister, Margaret L. McKeehan; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. His daughter, Sandra Crook, died in 1990.

Arrangements are by Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes.

Marvin L. Crenshaw

Marvin L. Crenshaw died Dec. 25, 2000, at age 80. A service will be held. Mr. Crenshaw was born March 10, 1920, in Condon and grew up near Medford. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Forces in the China-Burma-India theater. He then lived in Portland, where he worked for W.L. Ried Co. until becoming a partner in Lawrence Northwest (formerly L.J. Cappa & Assoc.), a hardware warehouse. He retired in 1982. He was a member of Montavilla United Methodist Church. In 1943, he married Ruth L. Benson.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Christalee "Chris" Stricklin, Vicky L. Oxley and Cherie L. Gress; son, Gary M.; brothers, Walter and Jackson; and four grandchildren.

Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to a memorial fund in his name at his church. Arrangements are by Gable & Parkrose Funeral Chapel.
