Paul E. Dillman

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, in Trinity Presbyterian Church for Paul E. Dillman, who died Jan. 4 at age 70. Mr. Dillman was born Nov. 22, 1930, in Milwaukee. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He moved to Portland in 1955 and to Hubbard in 1992. He was a laborer for several companies, most recently for Crosby & Overton in Portland for 10 years until his retirement. He was a longtime member and elder of the church. In 1956, he married Evelyn Harris.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Carol D. Stanfield, Paula A. Peter, Kelly S. Durkee and Laura R. Faulkner; sons, Eric M. and Paul A.; foster son, John M. Smallwood; sister, Pat Lanch; brother, Len; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. His son Keith died in infancy in 1959. His son Kurt died in 1966.

Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to his church. Arrangements are by Riverview Abbey Funeral Home.

Wayne Garrison

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, in Cornwell Colonial Chapel in Woodburn for Wayne Garrison, who died Jan. 5 at age 88. Mr. Garrison was born April 3, 1912, in Calgary, Alberta, where he was raised. He moved to Portland and was a millwright in mechanical construction for several companies until retiring. He was a member of the carpenters union. He moved to Wilsonville in 1974 and to Woodburn in 1986. In 1940, he married Susan Cummins.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Bobbie Richardson and Judy Mickelson; sister, Ethelyn Abernathy; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Private interment is in Sunset Hills Memorial Park.

Gary Lee Gray

Gary Lee Gray died Dec. 27, 2000, at age 43. A private service was held. Mr. Gray was born Nov. 13, 1957, in Portland, where he lived all his life. He graduated from Gresham High School and attended Mt. Hood Community College. He was a driver for United Parcel Service for more than 10 years. In 1986, he married Sandra Viles.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Kelci; father, Mitchell S.; mother, Patsy Graham; stepfather, LeRoy Graham; stepmother, Pat Gray; brother, Lee Graham; and sister, Michelle Baker.

Disposition is by cremation. Arrangements are by Riverview Abbey Funeral Home.

John L. Kordosky

A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, in Willamette National cemetery for John L. Kordosky, who died Jan. 1 at age 62. Mr. Kordosky was born May 16, 1938, in River Falls, Wis. He moved to Portland as a child and graduated from Benson High School and later served in the U.S. Army. In 1961, he moved to Troutdale and worked for Gil's Towing and Beaverton Glass until 1966, when he began work as a plasterer for R.C. Thompson. In 1987, he owned and operated his own woodworking shop. He later was a custodian for the Reynolds School District until retiring in 1994 due to illness. He was a member of Plasterers Union Local No. 82. In 1959, he married Nancy Cox.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Cynthia Bates and Karla Zepp; son, Timothy; brothers, LeRoy, Eugene, Gerald and Donald; sister, Marlys Thomas; and two grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances to Doernbecher Children's Hospital. Arrangements are by Bateman-Carroll Funeral Chapel.

Bertha F. Leifield

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, in St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Tigard for Bertha F. Leifield, who died Jan. 4 at age 84. Mrs. Leifield was born Nov. 11, 1916, in Jeannette, Pa. Her maiden name was Stroster. She was raised in Pennsylvania and moved to St. Louis in 1931, to Portland in 1952 and to Tigard in 1974. She was a homemaker. In 1945, she married Leonard A. "Bud" Leifield.

Survivors include her husband; brother, Phillip Stroster; and sister, Clara DeFail.

Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Catholic cemetery. Arrangements are by Young's Funeral Home.

George P. McSwain

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, in Emmanuel Temple Full Gospel Pentecostal Church for George P. McSwain, who died Jan. 3 at age 80. Mr. McSwain was born March 5, 1920, in Portland. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He lived in Washington for several years and then returned in the 1970s to Portland. He was a restaurant janitor until retiring in 1980. He was a member and deacon of the church. In 1983, he married Mary O. Williams.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Genella Ware and Genetta White; stepsons, the Rev. Michael Williams and Orlando Williams; brother, Jay; sister, Ethel Burse; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in Willamette National cemetery. Arrangements are by Caldwell's Colonial Chapel.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Prineville for Alfred William "Johnnie" Meats, who died Jan. 1 at age 69.

Mr. Meats was born Aug. 25, 1931, in Tigard. He graduated from Beaverton High School in 1949. He was a farmer and also worked for several sawmills before serving in the U.S. Navy. He returned to farming in the Portland area, then worked for Sawyer's Viewmaster for several years. He moved to Prineville in 1973 and owned his own farm, which he operated until retiring in 1993. In 1968, he married Virginia Sherrill; she died in October.

Survivors include his daughters, Anna M. Hubbell and Sherrill J. Hill; son, Joseph S.; and four grandchildren.

Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are by Whispering Pines Funeral Home in Prineville.

Arthur Woodward Mueller

Arthur Woodward Mueller died Jan. 1, 2001, at age 90. No service will be held. Mr. Mueller was born Oct. 11, 1910, in Portland. He graduated from Jefferson High School. He moved to Lake Oswego in 1950. He was a commercial artist and owned his own business until becoming a drafting instructor at Portland Community College for 10 years, retiring in 1975. He married Hazel O'Hara in the early 1930s; she died in 1989.

Survivors include his son, Patrick.

Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Arrangements are by Portland Memorial Funeral Home.

Alvin Leon Schleichardt

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, in Bateman-Carroll Funeral Chapel for Alvin Leon Schleichardt, who died Jan. 4 of pneumonia at age 63. Mr. Schleichardt was born April 22, 1937, in Grand Island, Neb. He moved to Gresham as a child and attended Gresham High School. He served in the U.S. Army. He returned to Gresham and was a carpenter in the construction business, mainly doing new commercial construction, until retiring due to a disability. In 1965, he married Judith Ann Fitch; she died in the early 1990s.

Survivors include his son, Jason; daughter, Brenda Chasteen; sister, Shirley High; and two grandchildren.

Interment will be in Willamette National cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to the activity department of Regency at Gresham care center.

Samuel Schneider

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, in Robison Jewish Health Center for Samuel Schneider, who died Dec. 29, 2000, at age 82. Mr. Schneider was born Sept. 6, 1918, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific theater. He graduated from Syracuse University and was a civil engineer for several companies in New York City until retiring in 1988, when he moved to Portland. In 1948, he married Naomi Raven.

Survivors include his wife; son, Merrill; daughter, Amy Wilson; and three grandchildren.

Interment is in Mt. Hebron cemetery in Queens, N.Y. The family suggests remembrances to the Robison Jewish Health Center. Arrangements are by Gutterman's Inc. in Rockville Centre, N.Y.

Edith Euronway Stuller

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, in Trinity Baptist Church for Edith Euronway Stuller, who died Jan. 2 of complications from a stroke at age 87. Mrs. Stuller was born Oct. 29, 1913, in Ystumtuen, Wales. Her maiden name was Jones. She immigrated in 1929 to the United States, and lived in Seattle and Everett, Wash., before moving to Astoria, where she was a librarian for the public library for more than 15 years. She moved to Portland in 1963 and was a bookkeeping clerk for J.K. Gill Co. She was a member of the church. In 1945, she married Gilbert R. Stuller.

Survivors include her husband; daughter, Starla Flores; sons, Bill and Sid; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in Willamette National cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to the day care or nursery at her church. Arrangements are by Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.

Gary Dean Wick

Gary Dean Wick died Dec. 20, 2000, of a heart attack at age 47. No service will be held. Mr. Wick was born March 15, 1953, in San Diego. He was a welder for various companies in northern California and Oregon. He moved in 1983 to Tigard.

Survivors include his parents, Mary and Murray; and brother, Dan.

Disposition is by cremation. Arrangements are by American Burial & Cremation.

Frances Willman

Frances Willman died Dec. 29, 2000, at age 91. No service will be held. Mrs. Willman was born Jan. 12, 1909, in Monroe, La. Her maiden name was Botsford. She graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway, Ark., in 1930. She then taught school for a year before moving to Florida, New York and California, where she was a banquet waitress for various hotels. She was also a part-time product surveyor for testing new products for various companies. In 1964, she moved to Portland. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her half brothers, Paul E. Botsford and George R. Botsford.

Interment is in Rose Memorial Gardens of Beverly Hall in Quakertown, Penn. Arrangements are by Portland Memorial Funeral Home.
