Dolly Treadway

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora, Calif., for Dolly Treadway, who died Dec. 28, 2000, of cancer at age 92. Mrs. Treadway was born June 27, 1908, in Great Bend, Kan. Her maiden name was Bedell. She moved to Southern California as a teen-ager and was a riveter for Douglas Aircraft during World War II. She lived in Covina, Calif., from 1946 until moving to San Clemente, Calif., in 1984. She moved to Portland in July of 1999. In 1928, she married J. Wilson; he died in 1984.

Survivors include her daughters, Dolores Charron and Judy Gage; son, Dick; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances to Willamette Falls Hospice. Arrangements are by Molalla Funeral Chapel.

Ruth Covington Wonacott

A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in First Presbyterian Church in Portland for Ruth Covington Wonacott, who died Dec. 21, 2000, at age 90. Mrs. Wonacott was born Feb. 24, 1910, in Moscow, Idaho. She moved to Portland in 1920 and attended Grant High School. She graduated from the University of Oregon and was a legal secretary for the Portland law firm of Wood, Wood, Tatum, Moser and Brooke. She then received her law degree from Lewis & Clark Law School and continued working for the law firm as office manager and executive assistant, until retiring after 35 years. She then worked for an antique shop and later for an interior decorator. She was a member, deacon and elder of her church, and she sewed clothes for needy children.

Survivors include her daughter, Gaynor Wall; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Her son Charles died in 1962, and her son, Paul N. died in 1991.

Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to the Salvation Army. Arrangements are by Caldwell's Colonial Chapel.

Max LeRoy Brunton

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, in Savage Memorial Presbyterian Church for Max LeRoy Brunton, who died Nov. 7 at age 80. Mr. Brunton was born March 4, 1920, in Wenatchee, Wash. He graduated from McPherson College in Kansas and received a master's degree from Washington State University. He was a school administrator in Washington in East Wenatchee, Okanogan and Ephrata before moving to Portland in 1961. He worked for the Parkrose School District for 24 years, most of them as curriculum director, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the church and a past president of the Northeast Portland Rotary Club. In 1942, he married Marie Crist.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Wayne and Kendell; daughter, Deborah Cook; brothers, Del and Philip; and five grandchildren.

Private interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park. The family suggests remembrances to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Arrangements are by Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes.

Pearl Ellen Clark

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, in Vermont Hills Methodist Church for Pearl Ellen Clark, who died Nov. 4 at age 88. Mrs. Clark was born July 26, 1912, in Baker. Her maiden name was Cotton. In 1949, she moved to Portland and was a obstetricals aide at St. Vincent Hospital for 12 years and then a surgical aide at the Veterans Administration Medical Center for about 10 years before retiring in 1974. She was a member of the church. In 1936, she married Floyd Clark; he died in 1993.

Survivors include her daughters, Geneva Ellis and Cleora Linder; son, William; sister, Jean Foster; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Private interment will be in Skyline Memorial Gardens. The family suggests remembrances to her church. Arrangements are by Skyline Funeral Home.

Michael L. Davalos

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Milwaukie for Michael L. Davalos, who died Nov. 6 of pulmonary embolism at age 75. Mr. Davalos was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Bent, N.M. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy. He moved to Clackamas in 1969, and was a truck driver for several companies, retiring in the late 1980s.

Survivors include his sons, Michael M., Greg M. and Chance; daughters, Minerva J., Estella D. and Norma M.D. Ouellette; sisters, Margaret Paz, Anita Acuna, Helen, Rosalie Nelson and Maria; brothers, Isidro, Dave and Gilbert; former wife, Jesus M.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Disposition is by cremation. Arrangements are by Crown Cremation & Funeral Services.

Travis Denton

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, in Caldwell's Colonial Chapel for Travis Denton, who died Nov. 6 at age 78. Mr. Denton was born July 12, 1922, in Hallsville, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War II. He moved to Portland in the early 1950s. He worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 17 years, then drove school buses for Laidlaw until 1998. In 1963, he married Ester O'Neal.

Survivors include his wife; stepdaughter, Trudy O'Neal; stepsons, Billy O'Neal and Kenneth O'Neal; brother, Samuel Jr.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in Willamette National cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to cancer research.

Deloris 'Dee' Doss

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, in Springfield Memorial Gardens in Springfield for Deloris "Dee" Doss, who died Nov. 3 of cancer at age 76. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, in Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Beaverton. Mrs. Doss was born April 21, 1924, in Ashley, N.D., and moved in the early 1930s to Springfield. Her maiden name was Klipfel. She graduated from the University of Oregon and then lived in Coos Bay, where she taught high school English as a young woman. She sold real estate after moving in 1968 to Beaverton. A member of the church, she helped establish its Kids of the Kingdom day care and preschool, and she helped refugee families settle in the Portland area. In 1947, she married Darrell Doss; he died in 1976.

Survivors include her daughters, Karen Engelhardt, Kathleen Barnes and Patricia Sheron; sons, Steven and David; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances to Kids of the Kingdom in care of her church. Arrangements are by Hennessey, Goetsch & McGee.

Eloise Laverne Householder

Eloise Laverne Householder died Oct. 30, 2000, of cancer at age 61. No service will be held. Mrs. Householder was born Nov. 3, 1938, in Portland, where she lived all her life. Her maiden name was Lowe. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School. She was an assembly worker for Purdy, where she worked for 19 years, retiring in 1999. She married Robert Householder in 1957.

Survivors include her husband; sons, Richard and David; stepson, Ralph; sisters, Buelah Earls, Beverly Miller and Vera Hone; and four grandchildren.

Interment was in Skyline Memorial Garden. Arrangements were by Skyline Funeral Home.

Alice M. Iltz

Alice M. Iltz died Oct. 30, 2000, at age 78. A private service was held. Mrs. Iltz was born March 4, 1922, in San Francisco. Her maiden name was Moore.

She moved in early 1940 to Portland. She graduated from St. Helen's Hall and attended Multnomah City College. She was a bookkeeper for Savage Sandblast until her retirement. She moved in the late 1950s to Beaverton. In 1943, she married Clarence Iltz; he died in 1985.

Survivors include her son, Steven, and daughter, Kren Jones.

Disposition was by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to the Cedar Mill Community Library. Arrangements were by American Burial & Cremation.

Cyril L. Isaacs

Cyril L. Isaacs died Oct. 28, 2000, at age 82. A private service was held. Mr. Isaacs was born April 19, 1918, in Fort Smith, Ark. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a residential house painter until retiring in 1975. He lived in Las Vegas and in Modesto, Calif., before moving to Portland in the 1980s.

Survivors include his sons, Cyril W. and Gary L.; and brothers, William and Charles.

Interment was in Willamette National cemetery. Arrangements are by Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes.

Martha Jean Kastner

Martha Jean Kastner died Oct. 31, 2000, of Alzheimer's disease at age 74. A private service was held. Miss Kastner was born Dec. 1, 1925, in Los Angeles. She moved to Portland in 1947 and was a dietary aide for Multnomah County Hospital for 30 years, retiring in the 1980s. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Gresham.

Survivors include her brother, Albert.

Disposition was by cremation. Arrangements were by Lincoln Willamette Funeral Directors.

Marvin Carl Klang

A memorial Mass will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, in St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Oregon City for Marvin Carl Klang, who died Nov. 8 at age 75. Mr. Klang was born Feb. 15, 1925, in Park Place. He was a partner in Martin and Klang Lumber in Colton in the late 1940s, then worked for Kappler Lumber, which became Publishers Paper, in Liberal. He retired as an edgerman in 1986 after 36 years. He had been chairman of the mill's safety committee and had served on the school board in Colton, where he lived from 1948 until moving in 1978 to Gladstone. He married Claramarie B. Kahut in 1948.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Clifford and Dennis; daughters, Diane Johnson, Beverly Brady, Marie Robinson and Nancy O'Brien; sisters, Marlene Clark and Audrey Schumaker; and 11 grandchildren.

Interment will be in St. John cemetery in Oregon City. The family suggests remembrances to Willamette Falls Hospice. Arrangements are by Sandy Funeral Home.

William Harold Lorenzen

William Harold Lorenzen died Oct. 28, 2000, at age 80, apparently of a stroke. A private service will be held. Mr. Lorenzen was born March 19, 1920, in Red Wing, Minn., and moved to Dundee in 1940. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army and Army Air Corps in the Pacific, receiving a Bronze Star. After the war, he was a salesman for Glidden Paint until 1982, then for Miller Paint for 10 years before retiring in 1992. He had lived in Portland since 1951. In 1947, he married Frances Smith.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Sandra Hardison; son, Scott; sister, Belva Richardson; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. His daughter Laurie Peterson died in 1998.

Interment was in Willamette National cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements were by Autumn Funerals & Cremations.
