Virginia "Ann" Wallace

Virginia "Ann" Wallace died Sept. 29, 2000, of cancer at age 68. No service was held. Mrs. Wallace was born July 16, 1932, in Eugene. Her maiden name was Wilburn. A licensed vocational nurse and psychiatric technician, she worked for nursing homes and hospitals, including OHSU Hospital and the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Portland, where she had lived off and on since the 1950s. She lived in Reno, Nev., for the past three years.

Survivors include her daughters, MaraLynn Klinger, Lorna Bean, Jodi Wilburn, Rebecca Stratz Kathleen Camarena and Susan Vance; sons, Richard, Michael and Christopher; sister, Josephine Sager; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Disposition was by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to IGT Helping Hands, 9295 Prototype Drive, Reno, NV 89511. Arrangements are by Northern Nevada Memorial & Burial Society in Reno.

Eleanor Lillian Warner

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, in Pilgrim Lutheran Church for Eleanor Lillian Warner, who died Nov. 3 of multiple sclerosis at age 65. Mrs. Warner was born May 6, 1935, in West New York, N.J. Her maiden name was Elssner. In the early 1940s, she moved to Portland and graduated from Washington High School. She was a secretary for Harold Meyer Appraisal for about 10 years until 1991. She was a member of the church. In 1957, she married LeMoyne Warner.

Survivors include her husband; daughters, Sharon Gallien and Janice Asmus; sister, Margit Kretschman; brother, Egon Elssner; and four grandchildren.

Private interment will be in Skyline Memorial Gardens. The family suggests remembrances to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of Oregon. Arrangements are by Skyline Funeral Home.

Howard L. Weyel

Howard L. Weyel died Oct. 28, 2000, of cancer at age 88. A private service was held. Mr. Weyel was born Sept. 1, 1912, in Clements, Calif. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Forces and participated in the Normandy invasion. He then lived in Roseburg, where he was a mechanic for Pacific Power & Light, retiring in 1972, and a member of the First Christian Church. He moved to Portland last year. In 1947, he married Gladys Kill.

Survivors include his wife; son, Roger; brother, Carl; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances to Hopewell House. Arrangements were by Skyline Funeral Home.

Jessie Edna White

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, in Holman-Hankins-Bowker & Waud Funeral Home for Jessie Edna White, who died Nov. 5 at age 91. Mrs. White was born April 23, 1909, in Missoula, Mont. She moved to Oregon City in 1949 and was a coordinator for the cafeteria of the State Office Building in Sandy for a few years before retiring in 1974. A member of Oregon City Christian Church, she taught in its Sunday school for 34 years. In 1933, she married Hal White; he died in 1966.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna; son, Don; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Private interment will be in Mountain View cemetery in Oregon City. The family suggests remembrances to the building fund of her church.

Leslie V. 'Bub' Adams

Leslie V. "Bub" Adams died Oct. 21, 2000, at age 85. A memorial service will be held later. Mr. Adams was born March 31, 1915, in Portland where he lived his entire life. He attended Lincoln High School. He lived in a home for people with disabilities. He was a member of the Roman Catholic church.

Survivors include his sister, Betty Ibabao; and several nieces and nephews.

Disposition was by cremation. Arrangements are by Hennessey Goetsch & McGee Funeral Directors.

James Albert Clee

A memorial service will be at noon Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, in the Oregon City Assembly of God for James Albert Clee, who died Oct. 31 at age 39. Mr. Clee was born Dec. 30, 1960, in San Francisco. He served in the U.S. Army. He moved to Portland in 1993 and was a machinist for Freightliner for the past two years. He married Sharon Montgomery in 1983.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Amber, Soozie, Kelly and Donna; sons, Joey and Donny; three sisters; and two brothers.

Disposition was by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are by Crown Cremation & Funeral Services.

Michelle Elizabeth Crossley

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in West Hills Unitarian Fellowship for Michelle Elizabeth Crossley, who died Nov. 4 in a car accident in Lebanon at age 18. Miss Crossley was born March 10, 1982, in Albany and grew up in Beaverton. She graduated from Beaverton High School in June and was a student at Central Oregon Community College in Bend.

Survivors include her parents, Cari and Mike; brother, Andrew; sister, Meagan; grandparents, Joe and Bernice Martinez, and Art and Sheila Crossley; and great-grandparents, Tony and Angie Gouveia.

Disposition was by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to the Boys & Girls Aid Society of Oregon for its work with homeless youths. Arrangements are by Fisher Funeral Home in Albany.

LeRoy Hart

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vancouver, Wash., for LeRoy Hart, who died Nov. 3 at age 69. Mr. Hart was born Oct. 11, 1931, in Madison, S.D. He moved to Vancouver at age 10 and graduated from Vancouver High School. He was a self-employed real estate developer before retiring. He was a member of the church. In 1964, he married Nancy Orthmann.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Ronald and Joseph; daughters, Debra Hart, Patricia Reeves, Amy Speyer and Kathleen Rukliss; brothers, Frank and Larry; sisters, Donna Fossen and Dianna Dyer; and 10 grandchildren.

Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to Amyloid Treatment & Research Program, 715 Albany St., F-229, Boston, MA 02118. Arrangements are by Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home in Vancouver.

David L. Lohr

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in Canby Christian Church for David L. Lohr, who died Oct. 31 of cancer at age 73. Mr. Lohr was born Aug. 7, 1927, in Twin Falls, Idaho, and was raised there and in Portland. He graduated from Benson High School. During World War II, he served in the merchant marine. He was a troubleshooter for Tektronix for 30 years, retiring in 1985.

Survivors include his daughters, Judy M. Lee, Susan L. Lohr, Teresa L. Bergerson, Francessa V. Smith and Avila F. Lohr; son, David M.; sisters, Vera Dodge, Verna Edwards, Mary Phillips, Doris Fulton, Delores Leece and Donna Dempsey; brother, Mark Jr.; one grandchild; and four great-grandchildren.

Private interment will be in Sunset Hills Memorial Park. The family suggests remembrances to Providence Hospice. Arrangements are by Portland Funeral Alternatives.

Charles L. Meade

Charles L. Meade died Oct. 7, 2000, of heart disease at age 74. A private service will be held. Mr. Meade was born Sept. 4, 1926, in Bluefield, W.Va. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard and during the Korean War in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a bus mechanic for Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority in San Jose until a disability forced his retirement in the early 1960s. He wrote several novels and published one. He moved to Portland in 1975.

Survivors include his sons, Dan and Michael; daughter, Laura Gibson; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in Willamette National cemetery. Arrangements were by Family Memorial Mortuary.

Julie Ann North

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in Victorious Faith Family Church in Oregon City for Julie Ann North, who died Nov. 3 of cancer at age 38. Mrs. North was born April 16, 1962, in Portland. Her maiden name was Jackson. She had worked as a beautician as a young woman, and she was a homemaker and a member of the church. In 1990, she married Daryl North.

Survivors include her husband; daughters, Bonnie and Veronica; parents, Allen and Irene Gadberry; brothers, Warren Gadberry and Carey Gadberry; and sisters, Kathleen LeGarra and Ronda Gattuccio.

Interment will be in Mountain View cemetery in Oregon City. Arrangements are by Crown Cremation & Funeral Services.

Inez Leona Paola

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in St. James Catholic Church in McMinnville for Inez Leona Paola, who died Nov. 4 at age 85. Mrs. Paola was born March 6, 1915, in Tillamook and grew up in the Monmouth area. Her maiden name was Webb. She graduated from Independence High School in 1933. A homemaker, she lived in Portland, then on a farm in Cornelius, then moved to Hillsboro in 1977. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. In 1935, she married Frank Paola; he died in 1991.

Survivors include her son Ronald; daughters Danette Koehnke and Deanna Smidt; brother, Vick Webb; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Her son Richard L. died earlier.

Interment will be in St. James Catholic cemetery in McMinnville. The family suggests remembrances to Maryville Nursing Home. Arrangements are by Macy & Son Funeral Directors in McMinnville.

Ira G. Richardson

Ira G. Richardson died Oct. 27, 2000, of a heart attack at age 74. No service will be held. Mr. Richardson was born Nov. 11, 1925, in Waterloo, then next to Canby, and was raised there and in Eugene. During World War II, he served in the merchant marine. He was a millwright for Champion International for 30 years, primarily in Roseburg, before retiring in the early 1980s. He moved in 1997 to Vancouver, Wash.

Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Miller; brothers, Guy, Gus and Roy; and sisters, Effie Hahn and Beth Krieger.

Disposition was by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to the Southwest Washington Humane Society, 2121 St. Francis Lane, Vancouver, WA 98660. Arrangements were by Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home in Vancouver.
