Julia Mae Holmason
Julia Mae Holmason died April 7, 2001, at age 86. Miss Holmason was born Feb. 19, 1915, in Orenco. She was a ranch cook, and later a beautician, in Pendleton until moving in about 1960 to Portland, where she was a beautician for Lipman Wolfe & Co. until her retirement.
Survivors include her sisters, Inez Ahlf and Edna Wodzewoda; one niece; and one nephew.

Edward Albert Joste
Edward Albert Joste died April 6, 2001, at age 56. Mr. Joste was born Jan. 13, 1945, in Oakland, Calif. He served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. He was a mechanical engineer for Tektronix.
Survivors include his mother, Marjorie; and brother, Donald.

Dominic James Miller
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2001, in Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Vancouver, Wash., for Dominic James Miller, who died April 10 of sudden infant death syndrome at age 4 months. Dominic was born Nov. 23, 2000, in Vancouver.
Survivors include his father, Jason; mother, Lacey Sanchez; grandparents, Joe and Marilea Miller and Jorge and Kathy Sanchez; and great-grandparents, Roger and Rose Warren, Leopoldo and Juana Sanchez, and Dennis and Beverly Davis.
Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the SIDS Foundation.
Robert A. Millington
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2001, in Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home in Vancouver, Wash., for Robert A. Millington, who died April 8 at age 75. Mr. Millington was born April 9, 1925, in La Crosse, Wis. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a draftsman for the Port of Long Beach, Calif., until his retirement. He also was a Scoutmaster for 32 years in Long Beach. He moved to Vancouver seven months ago. In the mid-1970s, he married
Jane Mary Grayling.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Nancy Chapman; son, Robert Jr.; stepsons, Bob Gallagher, David Gallagher, Gary Gallagher and Rusty Gallagher; brothers, Art and Dave; and seven grandchildren.
Interment in Willamette National cemetery. Remembrances to Boy Scouts of America.
Stelvia Laghi Mueller
Stelvia Laghi Mueller died April 5, 2001, at age 68. Mrs. Mueller was born Stelvia Laghi on June 26, 1932, in Trieste, Italy. She immigrated to Baltimore in 1952, and lived in Sunnyvale and Los Gatos, Calif., for 45 years before moving to Portland in 1998. She was a laboratory technician for Eastman Kodak for 27 years, retiring in the late 1980s. In 1952, she married
Andrew Mueller; he died in 1997.
Survivors include her son, Timothy; daughters, Desiree Mueller and Elizabeth M. Wear; brother, Bishop Claude Laghi; sister, Grace Harris; and four grandchildren.

Margaret Negravel
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2001, in Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Portland for Margaret Negravel, who died April 10 at age 80. Miss Negravel was born June 1, 1920, in New York City. She moved in 1945 from New York to Portland and was a private nanny and housekeeper, worked in a bakery for 17 years and was a housekeeper for Providence Medical Center. She was a member of the church for more than 50 years.
Survivors include her brothers, Ed and Garard; and three nieces.
Interment in Gethsemani Catholic cemetery. Arrangements by Mt. Scott Funeral Home.
Iril Clayton Olsen
Iril Clayton Olsen died April 7, 2001, at age 89. Mr. Olsen was born Aug. 14, 1911, in Grace, Idaho. He worked on the Hoover Dam in the mid-1930s and was a tool-and-die maker in the aircraft industry in California during World War II. After the war, he was a dairy farmer near Coos Bay until his retirement in 1978. He moved to Lake Oswego in 1989. In 1931, he married
Margaret Roderick; she died in 1993.
Survivors include his son, Jay; daughters, Linda Meyer and Marcia Dancey; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Walter Ray Pederson
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2001, in Bethel Community Church in Washougal, Wash., for Walter Ray Pederson, who died April 10 at age 73. Mr. Pederson was born Aug. 13, 1927, in Camas, Wash. He was in the merchant marine. He was a welder for Crown Zellerbach in Camas until his retirement in 1983. He lived in Washougal for most of his life. In 1949, he married
Carolyn Rodgers.
Survivors include his wife; son, Richard; daughters, Tami Palmer and Leisha Copsey; sister, Delores Engler; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Bette Mae Phillips
Bette Mae Phillips died April 6, 2001, at age 81. Mrs. Phillips was born Bette Mae Hanson on April 2, 1920, in Glendale, Calif. She owned Bette's Hair Styles in Los Angeles until retiring in the 1960s. She moved in 1986 from Glendale to Brookings and in 1992 to King City. In 1941, she married
Lloyd McKee West; they divorced. In the early 1960s, she married
William George Phillips; he died in 1979.
Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia L. Yager; son, Mark West; brother, Paul Gullihur; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Irene M. Pingo
A memorial Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2001, in St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Oregon City for Irene M. Pingo, who died March 28 at age 80. Mrs. Pingo was born Irene M. Carter on Feb. 4, 1921, in Portland. She attended St. Stephen's High School in Portland and was a claims analyst for PACC Health Plans until retiring in 1984.
Survivors include her daughter, Irene Davis; sons, John, Greg and Frank; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Ruby Jean Rudie
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2001, in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Portland for Ruby Jean Rudie, who died April 10 at age 70. Mrs. Rudie was born Ruby Jean Johnson on Nov. 21, 1930, on a farm in Chaves County, N.M. She moved to Portland in 1957 and was a homemaker. In 1949, she married
Harold Rudie; he died in 1981.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary M. Matlock; sons, Joseph, Robert and Gary W.; brother, James Connell, George Johnson and Allen Johnson; sister, Lynn Welch; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Patricia Kay Salyers
Patricia Kay Salyers died April 6, 2001, at age 62. Mrs. Salyers was born Patricia Kay Woody on Aug. 22, 1938, in Los Angeles. She moved in 1967 to Portland and worked in the restaurant industry, including as a bartender, until retiring in about 1998. In 1956, she married
Jack Salyers; he died in 1997.
Survivors include her daughters, Terry K. Calcagno and Jackie L. Saniti; brother, Delbert Woody; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

John E. Schrader
A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2001, in Zion Memorial Park in Canby for John E. Schrader, who died April 11 at age 92. Mr. Schrader was born April 23, 1908, in Fleming, Colo. He moved to McMinnville in the late 1930s, and was a millworker in the groundwood mill for Crown Zellerbach for 21 years, retiring in 1973. He lived in Clarkes for 35 years, and in Molalla for the past 25 years. In 1933, he married
Dora B. Elliott; she died in 1993.
Survivors include his sons, William and Dickey C.; daughters, Mary B. Ritchie and Peggy Parkhurst; sisters, Hazel Volberding and Augusta Hagen; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
