Carol Lynda Helen Wilkerson

Carol Lynda Helen Wilkerson died April 7, 2001, at age 91. Mrs. Wilkerson was born Carol Lynda Helen Hansen on Jan. 9, 1910, in Baldwin, Wis. She graduated from nursing school at Hillcrest Hospital in Minneapolis. She was a registered nurse for Los Angeles County in California until retiring in 1956. She moved to Portland in 1958. In 1940, she married James Wilkerson; he died in 1991.

Survivors include her son, John; daughter, Lynda Amaral; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

No service. Remembrances to the Wheatridge Foundation in care of St. Michael's Lutheran Church. Arrangements by Portland Memorial.

Lonetta 'Dolly' Amato

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2001, in Rose Villa in Milwaukie for Lonetta "Dolly" Amato, who died April 1 at age 90. Mrs. Amato was born Lonetta Cheeley on Nov.12, 1910, in Ramey, Minn. She graduated from the University of Minnesota Nursing School. She moved to Portland around 1938 and was a registered nurse for hospitals and nursing homes, retiring in the late 1970s. She moved into Rose Villa in 1978. In 1959, she married Arthur A. Amato; he died in 1975.

Survivors include her son, Keith Kinsman; daughter, Paige Kinsman Grove; stepson, Art Amato; stepdaughter, Charlene Nizer; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Judith Ann Baker

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Bateman-Carroll Funeral Chapel for Judith Ann "Judy" Baker, who died April 7 at age 59. Mrs. Baker was born Judith Ann Seems on April 5, 1942, in Portland and was raised in Bend. She returned to Portland in 1960 and was an admitting clerk for Good Samaritan and St. Vincent hospitals and then a receptionist for Baker & Associates Appraisal for the past 12 years. In 1961, she married George Baker.

Survivors include her husband; daughter, Lori Adkins; son, Douglas W.; brother, Larry Seems; sister, Barbara Murillo; and one grandchild.

Remembrances to the Oregon Humane Society.

Robert S. Berini

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Union Point cemetery in Banks for Robert S. "Bob" Berini, who died April 6 at age 66. Mr. Berini was born April 8, 1934, in St. Louis, Mo., and was raised in San Francisco. He served in the U.S. Army and received an engineering degree in California. In 1982, he moved from Orland, Calif., to Hillsboro and owned Berini Associates, an optical alignment company. In 1991, he married Barbara J. Lunzman Fagin.

Survivors include his wife; son, Stephen R.; daughter, Cheryl Berini Crosswhite; stepsons, Robert G. Fagin and Eric M. Fagin; brother, David; and one grandchild.

Remembrances to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Fuiten, Rose & Hoyt.

John Joseph Campbell

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in St. Henry Catholic Church in Gresham for John Joseph Campbell, who died April 8 at age 57. Mr. Campbell was born Nov. 27, 1943, in Oakland, Calif. He graduated from San Francisco State College and was a salesman for several companies, most recently for Savin NW. He moved to Portland in 1970. In 1984, he married Clara Bladow.

Survivors include his wife; son, Paul; daughter, Alysia J. Hanifin; stepsons, Michael Bladow and Marcus Bladow; sisters, Judy Meegan, Susan Roberts and Jeannie Becker; and four grandchildren.

Interment in Mt. Calvary Catholic cemetery. Arrangements by Gresham Funeral Chapel.

Lydia Clausing

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2001, in Davis Funeral Home in Riverton, Wyo. for Lydia Clausing, who died April 6 at age 93. Mrs. Clausing was born Lydia Fetzer on April 15, 1907, in Romania, and immigrated to Bismarck, N.D., as a child. She moved to Vancouver, Wash., in 1994. She was a waitress for more than 30 years, retiring in the 1970s. In 1962, she married Hugo J. Clausing; he died in 1994.

Survivors include her sons, Roger Coburn, Kenneth Coburn, Darwin Coburn and Gary Coburn; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Her daughter, Janice Coburn Wells, died in 1989.

Interment in Mountain View cemetery in Riverton. Arrangements by Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes.

Clemia 'Mae' Coday

A graveside service will be held Friday, April 13, 2001, in Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif., for Clemia "Mae" Coday, who died April 8 at age 78. Mrs. Coday was born Clemia Boydston on July 10, 1922, in Deming, N.M. A homemaker, she moved to Portland in 1988. She married Martin Junior Coday in about 1942; he died in 1985.

Survivors include her sons, Martin L. and Ronald L.; daughter, Kathleen Scharton; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements by Omega in Portland and Rose Hills Mortuary.

Warren H. Cook

A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Skyline Funeral Home for Warren H. Cook, who died April 5 at age 79. Mr. Cook was born Sept. 10, 1921, in Swain, N.C. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe. He was a welder for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers until his retirement for health reasons in 1974. He then worked for Northwest Marine Ironworks, retiring in 1982. In 1964, he married Ruth Van Riper.

Survivors include his wife; son, John G.; daughters, Jo Ann Rickman and Mary Singer; stepsons, Mark A. Van Riper and David L. Van Riper; stepdaughter, Jo Anne Pemberton; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Interment in Willamette National cemetery.

Richard Rodney Dennett II

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2001, in St. Aidan's Episcopal Church in Gresham for Richard Rodney Dennett II, who died April 7 at age 69. Mr. Dennett was born Sept. 15, 1931, in Lakewood, N.J. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He moved to Gresham in 1966 and was an air freight agent for United Airlines for 33 years, retiring in the early 1990s. He served on the vestry of his church and was a lay reader. He was a Boy Scout leader and a volunteer in the thrift store at Mt. Hood Community College. In 1951, he married Charlotte Plummer.

Survivors include his wife; son, Rodney; daughters, Terri Dennett and Amy Ciccone; sisters, Margaret A. Manes and Mary J. Simpson; and four grandchildren.

Interment in the church cemetery. Remembrances to his church. Arrangements by Autumn Funerals.

Margaret Louise Freytag

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2001, in St. John's Episcopal Church in Milwaukie for Margaret Louise Freytag, who died April 8 at age 89. Mrs. Freytag was born Margaret Louise Meiling on March 17, 1912, in Mount Pleasant, Utah, and was raised in Medford. She lived in Salem before moving to Gladstone in 1940. She was a homemaker and a sales clerk for several stores, most recently for Gladstone Pharmacy for 17 years before retiring in about 1977. In 1936, she married Ernst Freytag; he died in 1985.

Survivors include her sons, Robert, Douglas and Richard; daughter, Beth Oetken; brother, Richard Meiling; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Interment in Portland Memorial Mausoleum. Remembrances to her church. Arrangements by Portland Memorial.

Elsie Irene Gregory

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Old Scotch Church cemetery in Hillsboro for Elsie Irene Gregory, who died April 5 at age 92. Mrs. Gregory was born Elsie Irene Ross on June 3, 1908, in Albany, Mo., and was raised in Pasco, Wash. She moved to Portland as a young woman and graduated from Portland Licensed Practical Nurse Association training. She was a foster mother for children with special needs and a private duty nurse. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. In 1945, she married Everett M. Gregory; he died in 1992.

Survivors include her daughters, Rosalyn M. Brown and Maxine Hayzlett; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Janet J. Johnson

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2001, in Lone Fir Pioneer cemetery for Janet J. Johnson, who died April 9 at age 76. Mrs. Johnson was born Janet J. Rogers on May 14, 1924, in Minneapolis. She moved to Portland in 1950 and was a secretary for several doctors' offices, retiring in the late 1980s.

Survivors include her daughter, Phila J.; and sister, Evelyn Hansen.

Remembrances to a favorite charity. Arrangements by Holman's.

John S. Juring

A memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (St. Mary's Cathedral) for John S. Juring, who died April 7 at age 54. Mr. Juring was born Sept. 16, 1946, in St. Paul, Minn., and was raised in several areas of Montana. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War. He moved to Portland in 1970 and was a custodian for Good Samaritan Hospital for about 12 years until a disability forced him to retire about 1991. He was a member of the cathedral.

Survivors include his sister, Linda Petek; and brothers, Christopher and Thomas.

Interment in Willamette National cemetery. Remembrances to the cathedral. Arrangements by Autumn Funerals.
