Myrtle Violet Cork

A service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2001, in Willamette National cemetery for Myrtle Violet Cork, who died March 30 at age 79.

Mrs. Cork was born Myrtle Carr on April 11, 1921, in Central Oregon and grew up in Hood River. She moved to Portland in 1940 and was a homemaker. In 1941, she married Glenn Cork; he died in 1995.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Cork Sanders; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Arrangements by Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes.

Marie Cox

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2001, in Mountain View cemetery in Oregon City for Marie Cox, who died April 4 at age 87.

Mrs. Cox was born Marie Schultze on May 31, 1913, in Gladstone. She was a secretary for the Moreland Church of the Nazarene for 33 years. In 1933, she married Elvin Cox; he died in 1991.

Survivors include her sons, David and Steven; daughter, Deanna Bell; brothers, William Schultze and David Schultze; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Remembrances to Moreland Church of the Nazarene. Arrangements by Weeks Whitmore in Buckley, Wash.

Virginia Jewell Deitrich

A memorial service for Virginia Jewell Deitrich will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2001, in the home of Craig Horvath. She died March 22 at age 80.

Mrs. Deitrich was born Virginia Baxter on March 6, 1921, in Wisconsin and was raised in Portland. She graduated from Girls Polytechnic High School. She was a homemaker and a 30-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In 1942, she married George Deitrich; he died in 1999.

Survivors include her brother, Byron Baxter; sister, Barbara Horvath; and nieces and nephews.

Remembrances to Oregon Humane Society. Arrangements by Portland Funeral Alternatives.

Rowena I. Delucchi

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2001, in Mt. Scott Funeral Home for Rowena I. Nichols Delucchi, who died March 30 at age 88.

Mrs. Delucchi was born Rowena Buckner on May 24, 1912, in Tarpley, Texas. She was a professional bowler and won a Women's International Bowling Congress tournament championship. She taught bowling in the San Francisco area and was a bookkeeper for several companies. She moved to Milwaukie nine years ago. In 1930, she married Tom Nichols; they later divorced. In the early 1970s, she married Roy Delucchi; he died.

Survivors include her son, Gerald G. Nichols; daughter, Gwynne I. Warner; sister, Selma Morrison; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Remembrances to the Alzheimer's Association.

Clare Marie Finn

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2001, in St. Rose Catholic Church in Longview, Wash., for Clare Marie Finn, who died April 2 at age 86.

Mrs. Finn was born Clare Marie Humpert on Oct. 23, 1914, in Mount Angel. She was a homemaker and lived in Portland until moving to Longview. She volunteered at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Portland and at the Elsie Stuhr Center in Beaverton. In 1983, she married John Finn.

Survivors include her husband; sons, Al Runnells and Don Runnells; stepsons, Daniel Finn and James Finn; daughter, Patricia Tundidor; brothers, Aloysius Humpert and Ambrose Humpert; sisters, Rose Briggs, Rita Finn and Jeanette Kosher; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Her daughter Sharon M. Bateman died in 1978.

Interment in Longview Memorial Park in Longview, Wash. Remembrances to Community Health & Hospice in Longview. Arrangements by Steele Chapel in Longview.

Karen Anne Haas

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2001, in Good Shepherd Community Church in Boring for Karen Anne Haas, who died April 2 at age 51.

Mrs. Haas was born Karen Anne Banerian on Sept. 28, 1949, in Milwaukee. She lived in Sweet Home and Lebanon before moving to Gresham last year and was a certified nursing assistant in nursing homes.

Survivors include her daughter, Angel Pyles; mother, Anne Banerian; brother, Dave Banerian; sister, Laurie Johns; and one grandchild.

Leigh A. Hartley

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2001, in Washington Masonic Lodge 46 in Portland for Leigh A. Hartley, who died March 18 at age 74.

Mr. Hartley was born May 19, 1926, in Wichita, Kan., and moved to Seattle in 1942. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines. He was a manager for J.C. Penney, including at the Union Avenue store in Portland in the 1960s and early 1970s, and retired from the Grants Pass store in 1986. He returned to Portland in 2000. In 1949, he married Audrey Hammond.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Pamela J. and Jill A.; sisters, Patricia Harvey and Dolores Scott; and two grandchildren.

Interment in Willamette National cemetery. Remembrances to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Arrangements by Peake.

Pamela F. Hilbert

A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2001, in Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home for Pamela F. Hilbert, who died April 4 at age 48.

Ms. Hilbert was born July 9, 1952, in Rochester, N.Y. She moved in 1965 to Portland. She was a waitress, most recently for the Black Angus restaurant in Milwaukie for the past 10 years.

Survivors include her son, Jesse J. Crowell; daughter, Chantel M. Grieve; mother, Arline H.; brothers, Jerry L. Jr., Ron E., Bill K., Clyde C., John A. and Mark A.; sister, Christina M.; and one grandchild.

Interment in Lincoln Memorial Park. Remembrances to a favorite charity. Arrangements by Little Chapel of the Chimes.

The Rev. David S. Hultsch

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2001, in Montavilla United Methodist Church in Portland for the Rev. David S. Hultsch, who died April 5 at age 84.

The Rev. Hultsch was born May 17, 1916, in Catasauqua, Pa. He served in the U.S. Navy as a chaplain during World War II in the Pacific. He was a minister in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church for 41 years until his retirement in 1980. He moved to West Linn in 1996. In 1941, he married Lucille Fries.

Survivors include his wife; son, David F.; daughter, Dr. Sara E. Hultsch Smith; sister, Mary Howell; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Interment in Willamette National cemetery. Arrangements by Wilhelm.

Frederick Henry Ihlenburg Jr.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2001, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lake Oswego for Frederick Henry Ihlenburg Jr., who died April 4 at age 81.

Mr. Ihlenburg was born July 7, 1919, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was raised in New York and was a bomber pilot in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II in the European theater. He moved in 1953 to Portland and worked for Draper Brothers Inc., retiring as general manager in 1976. He was also a private pilot. In 1940, he married Jeanne Grabenhorst.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Lois Herbst; son, John C.; brother, Harry; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. His son Frederick died in 2000.

Rick P. Jennings

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2001, in Pegg, Paxson & Springer for Rick P. Jennings, who died April 3 of a heart attack at age 47.

Mr. Jennings was born April 26, 1953, in Detroit, Mich., and was raised in Michigan and Illinois. He moved in 1993 from Newark, Calif., to Beaverton, where he was an engineer for Freightliner until last year.

Survivors include his parents, Warner and Stella; brothers, Curt and Randy; and sisters, Nancy, Terry, Judy Swinnerton and Karla Wiesenfeld.
