Gino Bocci

Gino Bocci died Nov. 13, 2000, at age 94. No service will be held. Mr. Bocci was born Sept. 7, 1906, in Pontecino, Italy, and immigrated to the United States in 1914, settling in Portland. He sold produce at the Yamhill market in downtown Portland from the 1930s until retiring in 1970.

Survivors include his daughters, Rita Aquilla and Kathy Elsee; sons, Ben and Jim; sister, Jean Zandbergen; 14 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. His daughter Louise Chimienti died earlier.

Disposition was by cremation. Arrangements were by Sunnyside Little Chapel of the Chimes.

Pamela M. Burleson

Pamela M. Burleson died Nov. 10 at age 55. There will be no service. Mrs. Burleson was born June 8, 1945, in Portland, where she lived all of her life. Her maiden name was Stark. She attended Franklin High School. She was a homemaker and an office manager for Delta Auto Glass. In 1984, she married Merline Burleson.

Survivors include her husband; son, Ted Graham, stepsons, Wes Bigjoe, Lee and Tracy; father, Lawrence Peterson; sisters, Donna Olson, Sharon Shepard and Lorrie Millard; brothers, Ralph Stark and Donald Summerdorf; and three grandchildren.

Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to Portland Adventist Hospice. Arrangements are by Oregon Cremation Co.

Leetta Mae Carpenter

Leetta Mae Carpenter died Nov. 13 at age 91. A graveside service was held. Mrs. Carpenter was born Feb. 15, 1909, in Lenexa, Kan. Her maiden name was Laughlin. She was raised in Kansas and moved to Southern California about 1950, and later worked in the dietary department of West Park Hospital in Canoga Park, Calif., until her retirement. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Canoga Park. She moved to Portland in 1997. In 1934, she married Myron W. Carpenter; he died in 1976.

Survivors include her son, Myron E.; daughter, Beverly Fleischer; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Interment was in Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth, Calif. The family suggests remembrances to Providence St. Vincent Hospice. Arrangements are by Young's Funeral Home.

James Hamilton Clarke Sr.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, in Trinity Episcopal Cathedral for James Hamilton Clarke Sr., who died Nov. 13 at age 75. Mr. Clarke was born March 23, 1925, in Corvallis. He was raised in the Roseburg area. He graduated from Yale University and Yale Law School. From 1948 until 1950, he studied at Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. He moved to Portland in 1951 and was an attorney for Lane Powell Spears Lubersky until his retirement in 1995. He was a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a member of the American Appellate Academy, a member of the Ninth Circuit Rules Committee, and past chair of the Oregon State Board of Bar Examiners. He was also a member of the Commission on Uniform State Laws and a member of the bar's Professional Responsibility Board. In 1958, he married Ann Brewster.

Survivors include his wife; sons, William B. and James H. Jr.; sisters, Helen J. Clarke and Sarah Clarke Dean; and two grandchildren.

Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to the Oregon chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are by Riverview Abbey Funeral Home.

Mark George Clark

Mark George Clark died Nov. 4, 2000, of diabetes and heart disease at age 48. A private service was held. Mr. Clark was born Nov. 23, 1951, in Portland. He attended Benson Polytechnic School and served in the U.S. Army. A construction worker, he lived in Vancouver, Wash., for the past 30 years. In 1972, he married Georgene Casciato.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Trinity Wilkinson; sisters, Patty Dransfeldt, Alison Stillwell and Jackie Greive; brothers, Michael and Dale; and two grandchildren.

Disposition was by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to the March of Dimes. Arrangements were by Wilhelm Funeral Home.

Edna M. Coulter

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, in Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church for Edna M. Coulter, who died Nov. 14 at age 94. Mrs. Coulter was born March 31, 1906, in Drayton, N.D. Her maiden name was Merritt. She was raised in North Dakota and later graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in education. In 1935, she taught in Bonneville during construction of the dam and then moved to Silverton in 1938, where she taught for two years. She moved to Bend in 1940 and then, during World War II, was a classification analyst for the U.S. Army in Fort Lewis, Wash. She then was a special education teacher in the Portland Public Schools until retiring in 1970. She was a member of the church. In 1942, she married Charles Coulter.

Survivors include her husband; and sisters, Edith Reho and Hazel Hungate.

Interment will be in Willamette National cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to her church. Arrangements are by Mt. Scott Funeral Home.

David Martin Crittenden Sr.

A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, in St. John Fisher Catholic Church for David Martin Crittenden Sr., who died Oct. 15 at age 81. Mr. Crittenden was born Aug. 31, 1919, in Mill City. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces with the Flying Tigers in Asia during World War II. He moved to Portland after the war and was a clerk with the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 1984. In the 1980s, he moved to Hubbard, where he lived for ten years before returning to Portland. He was a member of the church. In 1949, he married Patricia Armstrong.

Survivors include his wife; sons, David M. Jr. and Brian L.; daughters, Celia M. Crittenden, Elise Freimark and Mary F. Collins; sisters, Felicia Vitus and Charmaine Loney; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Private interment will be in St. Luke cemetery in Woodburn. The family suggests remembrances to Providence Hospice. Arrangements are by Riverview Abbey Funeral Home.

Jesse 'Jerry' DeWeese Jr.

Jesse "Jerry" DeWeese Jr. died Nov. 7, 2000, at age 78. A service will be held later. Mr. DeWeese was born Jan. 29, 1922, in DeNova, Colo. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific. He then lived in Portland and was a welder for General Metal Craft until retiring in the early 1980s. He married Thelma Dodson; she died in 1988.

Survivors include his sisters, Nadine Asbury and Virginia Rudge; and companion, Eileen M. Wilson.

Interment will be in Cowlitz View Memorial Gardens in Kelso, Wash. The family suggests remembrances to the Salvation Army. Arrangements are by Portland Memorial Funeral Home.

Mildred J. Dierdorff

Mildred J. Dierdorff died Nov. 9, 2000, at age 89. A private service will be held. Mrs. Dierdorff was born April 15, 1911, in David City, Neb. Her maiden name was Rominger. A homemaker, she lived in Trenton, Mich., for about 40 years before moving to Wilsonville in 1990. In 1934, she married Dr. Verne H. Dierdorff.

Survivors include her husband; daughter, Margaret D. Danford; son, Dr. J.T. Dierdorff; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Disposition is by cremation. Arrangements are by Cornwell Colonial Chapel.

Mary C. Findley

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, in Bethany Baptist Church near Cedar Mill for Mary C. Findley, who died Nov. 15 at age 88. Mrs. Findley was born July 17, 1912, in Cedar Mill. Her maiden name was Handel. She attended Beaverton High School. She was a homemaker who also worked on the family farm, serving as field boss during the harvest. She also worked in the snack bar at Sunset High School for several years. She was a member of the church for almost 70 years. In 1933, she married George W. Findley; he died in 1993.

Survivors include her daughter, Lois E. Taylor; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Private interment will be in Union cemetery in Cedar Mill. The family suggests remembrances to her church. Arrangements are by Fuiten, Rose & Hoyt Funeral Home.

Bruce L. Fish

A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, in St. Henry Catholic Church in Gresham for Bruce L. Fish, who died Nov. 16 of cancer at age 48. Mr. Fish was born May 3, 1952, in Gregory, S.D. He moved to Southern California as a child and attended high school in Los Angeles. He moved to Gresham in 1972 and was the owner of Bruce's Transmissions in Portland until 1983. He then was an adult foster care provider for about 10 years. He was a member of the church. In 1971, he married Cathy Hodge.

Survivors include his wife; son, Jacob; father, Dean; brother, Rod; sister, Joyce Matola; and one grandchild.

Interment will be in Rose Hills cemetery in Whittier, Calif. Arrangements are by Bateman Carroll Funeral Chapel.

Aimo Herman 'Fred' Green

Aimo Herman "Fred" Green died Nov. 7, 2000, at age 84. No service will be held. Mr. Green was born June 1, 1916, in Raymond, Wash. During World War II, he served in the U. S. Army in Italy. He moved to Portland in 1945 and was a self-employed real estate agent and broker until retiring in 1998. He married Evelyn Edris in 1996.

Survivors include his wife; and son, Larry; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Disposition was by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to Providence Portland Hospice. Arrangements are by Wilhelm Funeral Home.

Ethelwyn C.S. Janac

Ethelwyn C.S. Janac died Nov. 6, 2000, at age 67. A private service was held. Mrs. Janac was born March 13, 1933, in Honolulu, and moved to Portland in 1966. Her maiden name was Choi. She was a secretary-bookkeeper for Allen H. Adams & Co. for the past several years and she was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. In 1957, she married Wes Janac.

Survivors include her husband; sons, Merrill, John, Tom and James; daughters, Marjie Hickman and Jackie Downer; and 19 grandchildren.

Interment was be in Willamette National cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to the Arthritis Foundation. Arrangements are by Zeller Chapel of the Roses.
