Russell Walter June

Russell Walter June died June 4, 2001, at age 69. Mr. June was born April 18, 1932, in Yakima. He moved to Portland at age 3 and graduated from Commerce High School, now Cleveland High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a truck driver for 30 years, including for Holman Transfer and the Keebler Co.

Survivors include his daughter, LeAnn Janway; son, Charles; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Interment in Willamette National cemetery. Remembrances to Lyons Eye Bank in Portland. Arrangements by Aftercare Cremation and Burial Service.

Anna Alise Lapp

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2001, in Sherwood Community Friends Church for Anna Alise Lapp, who died June 13 of undetermined causes on the day of her birth. Anna was born June 13, 2001, in Portland. Her parents are members of Countryside Community Church.

Survivors include her parents, Ben and Shawna; and grandparents, Phil and Nancy Lapp, Ron Leggett, Linda and Ian Murray, and Rose Leggett.

Ruth Palmer Munson

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2001, in Skyline Funeral Home for Ruth Palmer Munson, who died June 12 at age 95. Mrs. Munson was born Ruth Palmer on July 30, 1905, in Portland, where she lived all her life. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and received a teacher's certificate. She was a teacher for Munson School for two years and then was a homemaker. In 1924, she married Carl Munson; he died in 1967.

Survivors include her grandsons, Charlie Bird, Larry Bird and David Bird. Her son, William, died in 1995.

Interment in Skyline Memorial Gardens.

Irene M. Lienert Peitz

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2001, in St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Oregon City for Irene M. Lienert Peitz, who died June 15 at age 90. Mrs. Peitz was born Irene M. Davis on Jan. 9, 1911, in Baker City. She moved in 1940 to Portland and in 1950 to Oregon City. She was a homemaker and a 50-year member of the church. In 1938, she married Joseph T. Lienert; he died in 1984. She married Jerome F. Peitz in 1988; he died in 1991.

Survivors include her sons, the Rev. Charles and Dr. R. Eugene; daughters, Mary L. deSousa and Barbara Stalick; stepsons, James Peitz and Michael Peitz; 19 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Interment in the church cemetery. Remembrances to her church's education foundation. Arrangements by Hillside.

John Peter Seroyer Sr.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2001, in Young's Funeral Home for John Peter Seroyer Sr., who died June 3 at age 82. Mr. Seroyer was born Jan. 8, 1919, in Roanoke, Ala. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in Europe. A construction engineer, he worked for Grinnell Corp. and later for Bechtel International until retiring as a project manager in 1972. He moved from Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., to Lake Oswego in April. In 1942, he married Ellen Hill.

Survivors include his wife; sons, William and John P. Jr.; sister, Francis Buckalew; and five grandchildren.

Interment in Willamette National cemetery. Arrangements by American.

Doris May Thurnheer

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2001, in Scholls Community Church for Doris May Thurnheer, who died June 16 at age 84. Mrs. Thurnheer was born Doris May Heaton on May 6, 1917, in Scholls. A homemaker, she ran a dairy farm with her husband for 50 years and was a 50-year member of Hillsboro United Methodist Church. In 1950, she married Fred Thurnheer; he died in 2000.

Survivors include her son, Walter; daughter, Bonnie Hill; and three grandchildren.

Interment in Mountainside cemetery. Remembrances to Washington County Hospice. Arrangements by Bronleewe-Bass.

Phyllis Elaine Zinsli

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2001, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Milwaukie for Phyllis Elaine Zinsli, who died June 16 at age 81. Mrs. Zinsli was born Phyllis Elaine Szudera on Aug. 6, 1919, in Beach, N.D. She moved to Portland from Flint, Mich., in 1941, and was a homemaker and a 60-year member of the church. In 1940, she married Mathias Zinsli.

Survivors include her husband; daughters, Diane Romo and Gayle Norwood; sons, Michael, Larry, Tim, Matt, Dan, Joe and Jeff; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Interment will be Gethsemani Catholic cemetery. Remembrances to the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Arrangements by Omega.

Albert 'Eddie' Boyd

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2001, in Riverview Abbey Funeral Home for Albert "Eddie" Boyd, who died June 1 at age 81. Mr. Boyd was born Dec. 21, 1919, in Girard, Kan., and moved to Amarillo, Texas, as a child. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and survived the attack on Pearl Harbor. After the war, he moved to Portland and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring in 1984. He returned to Amarillo in 1990. He married Della Bonaduce in 1943; she died in 1985. In 1990, he married Marguerite Arnold Killian.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Linda K. Hepola and Donna R. Philbrick; stepdaughter, Beth Unruh; sister, Evelyn Frazier; brothers, RC and Frances; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Interment in Riverview Abbey Mausoleum. Remembrances to Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Ray Christman

A memorial will at noon Saturday, June 9, 2001, in Willamette Park in West Linn for Ray Christman, who died June 1, 2001, at age 70. Mr. Christman was born April 21, 1931, in Fort Wayne, Ind. He served in the U.S. Army and was a carpenter. He married Alyce "DaVee" Serface in 1955.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Bill, Dana and Jeff; daughter, Debbie Persons; brother, Arthur Whitish, stepsister, Gloria Strobel; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Remembrances to the American Heart Association. Arrangements by Young's.

Delphine Levenson

A cryptside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2001, in Beth Israel Mausoleum for Delphine Levenson, who died June 4 at age 93. Mrs. Levenson was born Delphine Rubenstein on Sept. 8, 1907, in Portland, where she lived all her life. She graduated from Lincoln High School. She was a homemaker. In about 1937, she married Julius Levenson; he died in 1958.

Survivors include her niece, Bernadine Brenner.

Remembrances to a favorite charity. Arrangements by Holman's.

Billy Joe Osterkamp

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2001, in Greater Gresham Baptist Church for Billy Joe Osterkamp, who died June 1 of leukemia at age 32. Mr. Osterkamp was born Oct. 22, 1968, in Billings, Mont., and lived in the Portland area since 1984. He was a trailer mechanic. In 1990, he married Lynn Glied.

Survivors include his wife; son, Toby Ziler; daughter, Aleshia; brothers, Larri Schroeder, Randy Schroeder and Robert DeSpain; and sisters, Pamela Koepnick, Mary Ann Osterkamp, Judy Marrow and June Spang.

Interment in Lincoln Memorial Park. Arrangements by Portland Funeral Alternatives.

Charles David Saso

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at Holy Family Catholic Church for Charles David Saso, who died June 2 at 84. Mr. Saso was born Nov. 26, 1916, in Portland. He graduated from Clinton Kelly High School of Commerce, now Cleveland High School, in 1936. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. He worked for the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development and was the personnel director for the Veterans Administration office in Portland. In 1953, he married Joan Smith.

Survivors include his wife, daughters, Jean, Nancy and Kathleen Markes; son, David; and two grandchildren.

A rosary at 9:45 a.m. precedes the service. Interment at Portland Memorial Mausoleum. Remembrances to the Oregon Kidney Center. Arrangements by Wilhelm Funeral Home.

Laurel Jeanne Senteney

An open house will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2001, at 1315 S.E. Roberts Drive, Gresham, for Laurel Jeanne Senteney, who died June 1 at age 77. Mrs. Senteney was born Laurel Jeanne Sekor on March 30, 1924, in Tacoma. She moved to Portland in 1948 and was a homemaker. She married Robert W. Senteney in 1946; he died in 1987.

Survivors include her daughters, Christine Jeanne Marr, Kathleen Senteney Copeland and Kaye Baldwin; and six grandchildren.

Remembrances to Powell Valley Covenant Church in Gresham. Arrangements by Oregon Cremation.
