Bernice J. Winklebleck

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2001, in Killingsworth Little Chapel of the Chimes for Bernice J. Winklebleck, who died April 20 at age 85. Mrs. Winklebleck was born Bernice J. Britton on Oct. 7, 1915, in Bottineau, N.D. She moved to Portland in 1930, and graduated from Roosevelt High School. She was a homemaker. In 1941, she married Jack Winklebleck; he died in 1985.

Survivors include her daughters, Diana Durvin and Patti Winklebleck; son, Thomas; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Remembrances to the American Cancer Society.

George M. Wolf

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2001, in Sandy Funeral Home for George M. Wolf, who died April 19 at age 78. Mr. Wolf was born May 4, 1922, in Sandy, where he was raised. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. He returned to Sandy after the war and was a sawyer for several lumber mills until retiring in 1983. In 1947, he married Maxine I. Burdick.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Dennis and Steve; daughter, Darlene Clark; brothers, Clark and Edward Jr.; sisters, Bernice Pattee, Ada Rich and Dorothy Updegrave; and seven grandchildren.

Interment in Firhill cemetery in Sandy. Remembrances to the Oregon chapter of the American Heart Association.

Janie Gassoway Barton

A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2001, in La Grande First Baptist Church for Janie Gassoway Barton, who died April 21 at age 53. Mrs. Barton was born Janie Davis on Sept. 15, 1947, in Ontario, where she was raised. She graduated from Oregon State University and taught high school Spanish for a short time. She moved to Barton in 1968 and later to La Grande, where she was a certified insurance counselor and worked for Valley Insurance. In 1968, she married John Gassoway; he died in 1994. She married Doug Barton in 1996.

Survivors include her husband; daughters, Rachel Lindvall, Brenda Overton and Belinda Young; sons, Scott Gassoway and Brent; parents, Loren and Verna Davis; sisters, Joann Nordquist and Jean Davis; brothers, Jerry Davis, Neal Davis, Richard Davis and Mark Davis; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Interment in Island City cemetery in Island City. Remembrances to Birthright. Arrangements by Daniels Chapel of the Valley in La Grande.

Anna Margaret Behm

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001, in First Presbyterian Church in Vancouver, Wash., for Anna Margaret Behm, who died April 19 at age 85. Mrs. Behm was born Anna Green on July 20, 1915, in Endicott, Wash., and graduated from Washington State University. In 1937 she moved to Vancouver, where she was a homemaker and a 62-year member of the church. In 1937, she married John Camp Jr.; he died in 1964. In 1969, she married Richard D. Behm.

Survivors include her husband; sons, John F. Camp, David F. Camp and Lawrence H. Camp; stepsons, Kenneth R., Stephen E. and Donald; daughter, Barbara Camp Kelley; brother, Henry Green; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Her daughter Mary Ellen Camp died about 1950.

Remembrances to the John F. Camp scholarship fund at Washington State University. Arrangements by Vancouver Funeral Chapel.

James F. Campbell

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001, in Bronleewe-Bass Funeral Home for James F. Campbell, who died April 22 at age 84. Mr. Campbell was born Feb. 28, 1917, in Tulsa, Okla., and was raised in Denver. He moved to Aloha in 1945. He was a truck driver for L.H. Cobb Rock Products for 15 years, retiring in 1972. He married Virginia Sinclair in 1963.

Survivors include his wife; stepdaughters, Shirley Soper, Jane Blanton and Judy Schoen; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Interment in Valley Memorial Park.

Dorothy Charlene Enyeart

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001, in Lynchwood Church of God in Portland for Dorothy Charlene Enyeart, who died April 20 at age 79. Mrs. Enyeart was born Dorothy Scott on Dec. 15, 1921, in Yuma, Colo. She moved to Portland in 1947 and was a homemaker and owned with her husband Powell Valley Iron Works for 33 years until retiring in 1982. In 1946, she married David H. Enyeart; he died in 1982.

Survivors include her son, Stephen H.; daughter, Ramona M. MacCormack; brother, David Scott; sister, Mary Scott; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Remembrances to American Lung Association. Arrangements by Crown Cremation & Funeral Services.

Lucille Helen Ervin

A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001, in St. Matthew Catholic Church in Hillsboro for Lucille Helen Ervin, who died April 12 at age 85. Mrs. Ervin was born Lucille Peters on Jan. 21, 1916, in Cloquet, Minn. She was a homemaker. She moved in 1989 to Beaverton. In 1935, she married Edgar P. Ervin; he died in 1996.

Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Milani and Maureen Jones; sister, Alice Morgette; and two grandchildren.

Shannon Lee French

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2001, in Bronleewe-Bass Funeral Chapel in Hillsboro for Shannon Lee French, who died April 21, 2001, at age 38. Mrs. French was born Shannon Lee Lorraine Metteer on Sept. 12, 1962, in Hermiston. She graduated from Newport High School and moved in 1993 to Portland. She was an administrative assistant for DAT Services and Buffalo Employment Screening. In 1982, she married Martin French.

Survivors include her husband; and brothers, Steven Metteer and Seth Metteer.

Lee A. Johnston

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001, in Willamette National cemetery for Lee A. Johnston, who died April 20 at age 76. Another service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, May 4, in First Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Mr. Johnston was born July 2, 1924, in Fort Laramie, Wyo., and moved to Hillsboro as a child. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe. Afterward, he was a truck driver for about 40 years, retiring in 1988. In 1947, he married Irene Keightley.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Merle E., Gary S. and Ronald L.; daughters, Nancy Evers and Joan Johnston; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Remembrances to American Heart Association. Arrangements by Donelson, Sewell & Mathews.

Joanne Lilleoren

A celebration Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001, in Holy Family Parish in Portland for Joanne Lilleoren, who died April 17 at age 66. Mrs. Lilleoren was born Joanne Koski on Sept. 18, 1934, in Ilwaco, Wash., and moved to Astoria as a child. She graduated from Astoria High School and Northwestern Business College in Portland. She owned the Old Homestead Market & Gallery in Portland and co-owned with her husband 11 Kentucky Fried Chicken franchises in Oregon and Washington, retiring in 1996. In 1954, she married Ole Lilleoren.

Survivors include her husband; daughters, Sherri Woods and Vicki Zahler; and five grandchildren.

Interment in Mt. Calvary cemetery. Remembrances to Alsac St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements by Mt. Scott.

Kenneth D. Lucas

A service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001, in Willamette National cemetery for Kenneth D. Lucas, who died April 21 at age 81. Mr. Lucas was born June 10, 1919, in Turlock, Calif. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II in Europe, and was a prisoner-of-war in Stalag Luft 3 in Germany. Afterward, he lived in California and moved to Milwaukie about 1964. He owned Northwest Butcher Supplies for more than 20 years, retiring for health reasons in the mid-1980s. He married Louise A. Taylor in 1944.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Gerald, Thomas, Keith and Marc; daughter, Kimberly Hughes; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Albert Francis Rathgeber

A recitation of the rosary will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2001, in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Portland, followed by a Mass at 11:30 for Albert Francis Rathgeber, who died April 22 at age 80. Mr. Rathgeber was born Sept. 28, 1920, in Spokane. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and earned the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He moved to Portland in 1945 and was an office supervisor for Pacific Northwest Bell, retiring in the late 1970s. He was a member of the church. He married Marguerite Venini in 1947.

Survivors include his wife; sons, James, Robert and Tom; daughters, Mary Ann Mitchael, Teresa Ellis, Patricia Ryan, and Sally Scott; sister, Kathy Williamson; and 14 grandchildren.

Interment in Gethsemani Catholic cemetery. Remembrances to St. Vincent de Paul. Arrangements by Stehn's Foster Road Funeral Home.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001, in Portland Memorial Funeral Home for Ota Tarence "Garnett" Ronning, who died April 21 at age 82.

Mrs. Ronning was born Ota Tarence Adams on June 15, 1918, in Pound, Va. She moved in 1950 to Portland. She was a seamstress for her own dry-cleaning business in West Linn and for others, retiring in the 1970s. In 1954, she married Elmer Olie Ronning; he died in 1991.

Survivors include her brother, Richard Adams; and sisters, Garnet George, Fannie Salyer and Reba Kincer.

Interment in Portland Memorial Funeral Home. Remembrances to Providence St. Vincent Hospice.
