Robert L. Miller
A celebration of life service will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, in Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes for Robert L. Miller, who died Sept. 30 at age 73. Mr. Miller was born Dec. 10, 1927, in Portland, and was raised in Omaha, Neb. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army. In 1947, he returned to Portland, where he co-owned Miller & Miller Mobil Gas Station for 12 years, managed Mayfair Lanes bowling alley for 10 years, and then was an equipment maintenance worker for Crown Zellerbach for 20 years, retiring in 1989. In 1949, he married
Bonnie Randall; she died in 1979. He married
Darlene Randall in 1980.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Cyndi Segrin; stepsons, Randy Randall and Robert Randall; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Addie 'Marie' Smith
A funeral will be at noon Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, in Donelson Sewell & Mathews Mortuary for Addie "Marie" Smith, who died Sept. 30 at age 76. Mrs. Smith was born Addie Marie Murrah on April 2, 1925, in Bluffs, Ill. A homemaker, she moved to Portland in 1956. She was a member of Parkrose Community Church and taught in its Sunday school. In 1956, she married
Calvin Smith; he died in 1998.
Survivors include her daughters, Tricia Lotton and Ellen Bailey; brothers, Wynn Murrah, John Murrah and Merrill Murrah; sister, Martha Rosser; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Dr. Gordon James Stratford
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints West Hills Ward in Beaverton for Gordon James Stratford, who died Sept. 30 at age 77. Dr. Stratford was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Baker, and was raised there and in Portland. He graduated from Franklin High School and from the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center Dental School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and later in the U.S. Air Force. In 1953, he moved to Beaverton, where he ran a dental practice until retiring in the early 1980s. In 1947, he married
Colleen Smith.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Terry Lyn Kelly, Laurie Ann Crittenden and Christy Sue Stratford-Lewis; sisters, Marjorie Lewis and Betty Barney; and 14 grandchildren.

Truman E. Teeter
A graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, in Forest View cemetery for Truman E. Teeter, who died Sept. 29 at age 82. Mr. Teeter was born Oct. 13, 1918, in North Hollywood, Calif. He graduated from Oregon State College and received his master's degree and doctorate from the University of Oregon. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific. He taught one year at Lewis and Clark College. In 1965, he moved to Forest Grove. He was a chemistry professor at Pacific University from 1964 until retiring about 1983. In 1949, he married
Wilberta Winniford.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Martha E. McGuirk; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Frederick Harold Vail
A gathering will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, in the Eagle Creek home of Fred and Meg Quayle for Frederick Harold "Mr. Fred" Vail, who died Sept. 24 at age 86. Mr. Vail was born Sept. 4, 1915, in Westchester County, N.Y. A nurseryman and farmer, he moved in the late 1970s to Boring, where he worked for Iseli Nursery until retiring in 1985. In 1970, he married
June Correll; she died in 1980.
Survivors include his daughters, Amy V. Robillard and Kathie M. Erickson; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. His daughter Lilliane died in 1966.

Robert Ray Ball
Robert Ray Ball, died Sept. 22, 2001, at age 60. Mr. Ball was born Sept. 24, 1940, in Salem. He graduated from South Salem High School and served in the Army. He worked in shipping and receiving for Garden Distributors N.W. for 10 years. He moved to Portland in 1968.
Survivors include his mother, Georgia Whipple; brothers, Jerry Ambrose, David Ambrose, Richard Ball and William Ball; sister, Sandra Emerson; and companion, Donald McCracken.

Delores Lavern Beall
Delores Lavern Beall died Sept. 21, 2001, at age 82. Mrs. Beall was born Delores Lavern Dick on Dec. 7, 1918, in Portland. She moved in the mid-1970s to Junction City. She worked for Montgomery Ward and for Aliss-Chalmers. In 1941, she married
Carl McInnis; he died in 1966. In 1968, she married
Frank Beall; he died in 1981.
Survivors include her companion, John M. Reed Sr.

Mary Helen Bell
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, in Dundee Pioneer cemetery for Mary Helen Bell, who died Sept. 28 at age 90. Mrs. Bell was born Mary Helen Groth on Aug. 26, 1911, in Dundee, and was raised in St. Paul and Dundee. A homemaker, she lived in Portland before moving to Keizer.
Survivors include her son, Dennis L.; sisters, May Holzmeier and Janet Prater; brother, John Groth; and grandchildren.

Ralph C. Bonadurer
Ralph C. Bonadurer died Sept. 24, 2001, at age 78. Mr. Bonadurer was born July 8, 1923, in Portland. He graduated from Washington High School and the University of Oregon and was a self-employed architect in Portland before retiring in 1997. In 1947, he married
Adelee Bostick.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Cynthia Fitzwater; son, Jeffrey; sisters, Helen Mader and Ruth Morton; and three grandchildren.

John Bruse Cundiff
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, in Salmon Creek Methodist Church in Salmon Creek, Wash., for John Bruse Cundiff, who died Sept. 27 at age 46. Mr. Cundiff was born Aug. 7, 1955, in Portland. He graduated from Madison High School and served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years until retiring in 1993. He was a security manager for Pinkerton and then a volunteer for the American Diabetes Association, the Portland Park Bureau and Esther's Pantry.
Survivors include his mother, Jeannine A. Marks; father, John A.; and sisters, Linda L. Edwards, Julie A. Lloyd and Sheri Fordice.

John B. Davenport
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Prineville for John B. Davenport, who died Aug. 29 at age 88. Mr. Davenport was born June 26, 1913, in Mount Carmel, Ill., and moved to Portland as a teen-ager. He graduated from Washington High School and served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. In 1953, he moved to Prineville, where he was a manager for Healy's Furniture Store until his retirement in 1979. He returned to Portland in 1997. In 1938, he married
Marjorie Helen McCulloch.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Sandra Ream, Linda Rogers and Bonnie Olson; sons, David and Richard; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Michael A. DePaola
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Portland for Michael A. DePaola, who died Sept. 29 at age 103. Mr. DePaola was born Dec. 10, 1897, in Vinchiaturo, Italy. He immigrated in 1914 to Hibbing, Minn., moved in 1918 to Tigard, and later lived in Yamhill, where he was a millworker and farmer. In 1941, he moved to Portland, where he was a welder for Portland Railroad Terminal for 22 years, retiring in 1963. He was a member of the church for more than 50 years. In 1923, he married
Consetta Paola; she died in 1995.
Survivors include his son, Peter W.; daughter, Carmella Stanley; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Tom C. Dreibelbeis
A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, in Holman-Hankins-Bowker & Waud Funeral Home for Tom C. Dreibelbeis, who died Sept. 28 at age 50. Mr. Dreibelbeis was born Aug. 11, 1951, in Clinton, Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa. He lived in Torrance, Calif., before moving to West Linn in 1996. He worked for elevator companies for 26 years and was a vice president of Centric Elevator for the past five years. In 1979, he married
Linda Price.
