Florence's Maternal family were pioneers in Oregon, settling in Ashland in the mid 1800's. The strong pioneer spirit was evident throughout her life. She loved and cared for her family with great passion, and extended herself to any person or animal that needed to be fed or loved in any way. Her daughters always felt that if women like Mother ran the world, we would all live in peace and no one would be hungry.

She loved traveling the world, gardening, reading, dancing and music, but most of all, her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister and a great grandson. Those left to savor the memories are her daughters Marcia Asher of Central Point, Karen Darling of Ashland, her sister Ruth Harrington of Central Point (with whom she shared her home) four grand children and five great grand children.

She will be missed greatly, but we know that she wanted to be released from the frustrations of Alzheimer's. If you choose to honor her name with a contribution, her favorite charities are Friends of the Animal Shelter and Dunn House. A celebration of her life will be organized later this summer.
