Katherine Lue ' Kathie' Winters

Katherine Lue 'Kathie' Winters, 69, died at the Lake District Hospital from natural causes on Friday, Sept. 19, 2008.
Katherine was born to Lester and Mae (Eason) Icenhower in DeQueen, Ark. on April 3, 1939. She grew up in Lakeview where she received her education.
She married Orvil Winters on Aug. 10, 1955 in Reno, Nev. and they lived in San Francisco, Calif. until 1959, when they moved back to Lakeview to raise their family.
She was a stay at home Mom until she felt her children were old enough for her to pursue a career which started at the Thrift Store and then to Mode-O-Day and finally at Fetsch's Mens Wear as a sales clerk and alterations expert. She retired when she could no longer work due to health problems.
Katherine was always very involved with her family. Her grand and great-grandchildren were the absolute light of her life.
Her favorite past times were fishing with Orvil, crocheting afghans for her grand babies and cooking for her family.
She was a long time member of the Lakeview First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Orvil; father Lester Icenhower; sisters Mary Jo and Clara; son Wade; grandson Scott and son-in-law Pat Sundet.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Brad and Tanya Winters of Lakeview; daughters and sons-in-law Sandy and Gene Gabriel of Lakeview and Kelly and Wayne Ropp of Redmond; mother, Mae Katherine Beach of Redmond; sister and brother-in-law Carol Sue and A.J. Smith of Redmond; 10 grandchildren; 21 great- grandchildren and numerous other extended family members.
Her funeral service was held on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008 at the Lakeview First Baptist Church. Interment was in the Sunset Park Cemetery.
Contributions in the memory of Mrs. Winters may be sent to the Lakeview Disaster Unit, P.O. Box 1007, Lakeview 97630 or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Vida Alice Barry

Vida Alice Barry, 70, died at the Lake District Long-Term Care Facility on Sunday, Oct.7, 2007 from natural causes.
Vida was born to Michael and Annie (Lewis) Barry in Paisley on June 20, 1937.
She grew up in Paisley where she graduated from high school. She lived in Reno, Nev. and worked at Stead Air Force Base for a number of years before moving to the Los Angeles, Calif. area where she waited tables and attended college. She then went to San Francisco, Calif. and continued her college education. She had a real love for the city life and had lived in New York City, NY, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Wash. and Portland, but Lakeview was where she liked to 'come home' to.
She enjoyed expanding her knowledge through formal education and reading. She thoroughly enjoyed her chosen way of life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John L. Murphy and Bernard E. Murphy; sisters, Annabelle Stewart, Elizabeth Webster and Mary Ellen Barry.
Vida is survived by: sisters, Eileen Malone of Portland and Micheala Wishart of Lakeview; sister-in-law, Jacquelyn Murphy of Lakeview and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Desert Rose Funeral Chapel.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m. at the Lakeview I.O.O.F. Cemetery with the Rev. Anthony officiating.
Contributions in Vida's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Lorene Evelyn Whitmire Brock

Lorene Evelyn Whitmire Brock, 81, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007 at Lakeview Long Term Care.
Lorene was born on March 24, 1926 in Nashoba, Okla. She married Wesley Whitmire in Oklahoma and they later moved to Oregon where he preceded her in death. She later married Arlie Brock who also preceded her in death. She was a mother and homemaker who loved her family. She enjoyed making quilts for her family and friends. She also liked to fish and camp.
She is survived by her four sons Butch Whitmire of Lakeview, Bill Whitmire of Albany, Tom Whitmire of Mesa Ariz. and Shannon Brock of Lakeview ; an adopted daughter, Betty Edmondson of Central Point; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held Friday, Nov. 2 at Ousley Osterman Huffstutter Funeral Chapel. Private interment was held at Sunset Cemetery.

Donna Lynne Crawford

Donna Lynne Crawford, 43, died on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007 at the Lake District Long Term Care from natural causes.
Donna was born to Albert and Lani (Ray) Crawford in Prineville on Nov. 27, 1964. She grew up in Prineville where she received her education. She had lived in various locations in Oregon before settling in Lakeview about 15 years ago.
Most of her working years were spent tending bar and working for Woodgrain Millwork in Lakeview. She enjoyed most outdoor activities, especially camping and hiking. She especially enjoyed and loved her cats.
She is survived by: her mother, Lani Menges of Lakeview; sons, Shawn Donaldson of Klamath Falls and Justin Donaldson of Portland; brothers, Johnny Mullen of Lakeview and Kevin Mullen of Bend; sister, Carrie Nelson of Brookings; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and special friend and companion, Gordon Grisel of Lakeview.
A memorial service was held at the Eagle's Nest Lounge in Lakeview on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
Donations in Donna's memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Ida Alberta Dunn

Ida Alberta Dunn, 99, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 in Redding, Calif. after a long illness. The day of her passing was her 99th birthday.
Alberta was born Oct. 31, 1908 in Boulder, Colo. to Mervin Carl and Charlotte (Virden) Van Dyke. In 1928 she married Arthur F. Moore of Harney County in Morro Bay, Calif. After his death in 1945, she moved to Redding, Calif. In 1958 she married Arthur J. Dunn of Paisley. She lived in Paisley for 40 years. Arthur Dunn passed away in 1998 after they moved to live with her daughter and son-in-law in Cottonwood, Calif.
Alberta enjoyed many hobbies including wood carving, cloth doll making and sewing. She made each of her four grandchildren a hand carved coffee table.
She is survived by: daughter, Mildred Ross of Jamestown, Calif.; step-daughter, Evelyn Carey of Paisley; sister, Betty Galbraith of Yuma, Ariz.; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at the Paisley Cemetery on Friday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. with her grandson, the Rev. William A. Ross of Barstow, Calif. officiating. Following the service a pot luck dinner will be served in the Paisley Community Center. Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Desert Rose Funeral Chapel.

Ronald L. Foster

Ronald L. Foster, 37, beloved husband and father passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2007 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Nampa, Idaho on Oct. 10, 1970 and raised in Lakeview where he graduated from Lakeview High School in 1989. He lived life to the fullest and his list of accomplishments is extensive. He went to U of O on a track and field scholarship in1989 and then transferred to Mt.Hood Community College to play basketball. After college, he trained professionally as a decathlete and made it to the Olympic trials. His athletics led to modeling and even a small part in the movie 'Without Limits.'
In 1994, he met his future wife, Keri McCartney who he married in 1999. In 1998 he started his own roofing company, Foster Roofing and Sheet Metal, Inc.
Their daughter Karli Ann was born Sept. 29, 2007 - just three weeks before his death.
He is survived by: his wife Keri; daughter, Karli Ann; father, Martin Foster of Molalla; mother, Penny Merrill of Eugene ; brothers, Brandon Foster of Molalla; Favorite aunt Vivian Lees of Lakeview; cousins, Marty Lees and Shawn Lees.
Services were held Saturday, Oct. 27 in Clackamas.
Donations may be made to Lakeview High School, c/o Bob Nash, 906 S. 3rd St., Lakeview 97630 for new trophy cases.

Jacob 'Jake' Jamieson

Jacob 'Jake' Jamieson, 33, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2007 in Portland.
Jake was born April 17, 1974 in Portland where he graduated from Milwaukie High School. He received his plumber journeyman's license in Portland and moved to Lakeview where he created his Plush Plumbing business.
Jake's hobbies included dirt biking, making copper art, camping and entertaining his friends by cooking for and eating with them. He loved music and was a member of the Phantom Strikers Bowling Team. He took great pride in remodeling and building his own home in Lakeview.
He is survived by: his fiancé, Hollye Rosser; mother, Linda Anderson; father, Eric Jamieson; brother and sister-in-law, Eli and Nicole Jamieson and family; sister, Rebecca (Becky) Anderson; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Keith; paternal grandmother, Charlebelle Gettel; step-mother, Nancy Jamieson Kelly; step-brother, Justin; aunts, DeEtta Vincent and Joan Erickson; cousins, Cameron Vincent and Max Erickson; Lakeview relatives, Russ and Frances Scholer; special friends, Annie and Casey Thornton, Joe Cornwall, Susan Rose and Marv and Lauri Crocker. He also leaves behind loyal friends and pets, Zac, Brock and Blackie.
A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. in the Church Of The Open Bible, 264 N. P St., Lakeview, followed by a luncheon reception in the Open Bible Fellowship Hall.

William (Billy) Allan Morgan

William (Billy) Allan Morgan, 44, passed away on Moncay, Oct. 29, 2007 in Conroe, Texas.
He was born on Oct. 31,1962 in Baytone, Texas and reborn, (baptized) Aug. 12, 2007 at North Side Baptist Church in Conroe by the Rev. Wes Pratt.
He grew up in Rockport, Texas and lived many years in Lakeview where he made many friends and never met a stranger. He was talented in many areas and always ready to give a helping hand. He was best know for being a caring and giving person and will be missed dearly by many.
He is preceded in death by: wife, Sherry Lynn Morgan; brother, Wayne Ray Morgan; grandparents, Hazel and Thomas Williams and Glaydies and Ray Morgan.
He is survived by: parents, Ray Wayne Morgan of Rockport, Texas and Barbara Williams of Conroe; daughter and son-in-law, Rachelle Morgan and Steven Linder; granddaughter, Patience Lee Linder, and another grandchild on the way; first wife, Sheri Lee Morgan and her parents, Jim and Dorothy Lowrance of Lakeview and sister -in-law, Tisha Wolfe-Bartholomew of Lakeview; siblings, David Morgan, Rory Morgan, Lana Morgan-Adler, Wallace Argabright all of Texas, many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Oakwood Cemetery in Refugio, Texas and performed by his pastor, brother Wes Pratt and Uncle Dr. Bill Anderson.

Margy Lee Nelson

Margy Lee Nelson, 78, died at her Lakeview home Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007 following a brief illness.
Margy was born Feb. 9, 1929 in Sublette, Kansas to Basil and Evelyn (Levacy) Yount. Margy was raised and educated in Sublette.
She married James D. Morgan in 1945 in Sublette. Margy married Bob Nelson Jan. 26, 1968 in Las Vegas, Nev..
She was also preceded in death by five brothers.
Survivors include her daughters, Shree` Morgan and Chevonne Swift both of Lakeview; brother Doyle Yount of Olathe, Kan.. three grandchildren, one great- grandchild At the request of Mrs. Nelson public services will not be held.
Ousley Osterman Huffstutter Funeral Chapel had charge of the arrangements.

Violet Robbins Van Buskirk

Violet Robbins Van Buskirk, 84, died at her Paisley Home Wednesday, Dec. 5. 2007 following a lengthy illness.
Violet was born the seventh of 12 children Sept. 1, 1923 in Springdale, Ark. to William H. and Bertha L. (Gobble) Robbins. Violet was raised and educated in Springdale.
She was married to Roscoe Van Buskirk Oct. 13, 1941 in Yuma, Ariz. The couple lived in southern California until moving to Paisley in l974.
Violet became very active in the Paisley Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and cake decorating.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include: her husband, Roscoe of 66 years; daughters and sons-in-law, Rosvi and Gary Casteel and Roxan and John Garbellini; brothers, Bill Robbins and Grover Robbins; sisters, Emily Meek and Nellie Richardson;10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include: Paul Barers, Lance Richardson, Randy Hodel, Al Bailie, John McKinnon, Roy Thoma and Daniel Bes.
Celebration of Life Services were held at the Paisley Community Center Monday, Dec. 10, with the Rev. Vi Goodman officiating. The interment followed at the Paisley Cemetery.
