Tyrrell "Ty" Wise

1932-2004

Tyrrell "Ty" Raphael Wise, 72, of Yoncalla, died Oct. 14, 2004, of cancer.

He was born to Raphael and Dorothy (Walker) Wise on July 9, 1932, on his grandparents' ranch in Scotts Valley, Yoncalla.

He married Ladena Watkins on Dec. 24, 1974, in Drain.

He graduated from Yoncalla High School in 1950 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a radar technician.

He was a log truck driver.

He enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his wife: Ladena Watkins Cole Wise; two daughters and sons-in-law: Vickie (Cole) and Orval Clark of Riddle and Debra (Cole) and Duke Rodgers of Oakland; a foster daughter: Bonnie (and Mike) Baldwin; a brother and sister-in-law: Aethel and Ofclia Wise of Eugene; a niece: Andrea Wise of Chicago, Ill.; an aunt: Joyce Walker Bates of Springfield; as well as six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter: Charlotte Marie Wise; a son: Randy Cole: and his grandparents: Lloyd and Della (Hannon) Wise.

A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. on Nov. 6 at the Drain Assembly of God Church with interment at Roseburg Memorial Gardens in Roseburg.

Contributions can be made to the Charlotte Wise Memorial Scholarship Fund, Yoncalla High School, through the Drain Bank.

Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Gloria Anne Discerni

1986-2004

Gloria Anne Discerni, 18, of Cottage Grove, died on Oct. 15 at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

She had been in a coma three days.

She was born to Linda and Frank Discerni Jr. on Feb. 24, 1986, in Boise, Idaho.

She attended Cottage Grove High School through her junior year and graduated from Timber Ridge Prep School in Clark Fork, Idaho, earlier this year.

She was a freshman at North Idaho College in Coeur d'Alene.

She loved soccer, snowboarding and bringing happiness to the lives of people she touched.

She had a contagious smile and radiated joy and love.

She is survived by her parents; her brother: Tony, of Cottage Grove; and her grandparents: Virginia and Hap Rantala of Spokane, Wash., and Michelina DeDonato of Niles, Ohio.

She is preceded in death by grandparents Gloria and Frank Discerni Sr. of Warren, Ohio, and Robert Smith of Spokane, Wash.

A celebration of life will be held at Cottage Grove High School at 11 a.m. Saturday.

She will be cremated and her ashes spread in Beauty Bay on Coeur d'Alene Lake in Idaho.

Donations can be made to South Lane School District School Nurses' Fund for adolescent drug and alcohol counseling.

George P. Bouche

1942-2004

George P. Bouche, a 45-year resident of Cottage Grove, died Oct. 22 at the age of 62 from cardiac related causes.

He was born to Paris and Thelma Bouche on April 7, 1942, in Salem.

He grew up and attended school in Canyonville.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a log truck driver for Weyerhaeuser for more than 40 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in Alaska.

He is survived by his parents: Paris and Thelma Bouche of Bend; his sons and daughters-in-law: Perry Bouche of Cottage Grove, Paul and Megan Bouche of Richland, Wash., Patrick and Tammie Bouche of Cottage Grove; daughter: Joelene Bouche of Springfield; brothers: Joel Bouche and Walter Bouche, both of Bend; and five grandchildren.

A private cremation was held and a memorial service was Tuesday at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel.

Charles D. "Chuck" Cook, Jr.

1974-2004

Charles D. "Chuck" Cook, Jr., a lifelong resident of Cottage Grove, died Oct. 21 at the age of 30 as a result of an auto accident.

He was born to Charles D. Cook, Sr., on Sept. 25, 1974, in Cottage Grove.

He attended school in Cottage Grove.

He was employed at Fircrest Farms in Creswell for a number of years.

He liked to be outdoors and hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his father: Charles D. Cook, Sr. of Creswell; his stepmother: Bonnie Cook of Cottage Grove; sister: Trisha Cook of Cottage Grove; stepbrother: Jason Presley of Cottage Grove; daughter: Brittney Cook of Cottage Grove and his son: Anthony Cook of Cottage Grove.

No service was planned.

A visitation was held Tuesday at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel.

Interment was at Fir Grove Cemetery.
