Bessie Lee Grim, 93, of Aurora, died Feb. 1, 2010. She was born Dec. 26, 1916 in Rickreall.
A memorial service will be held Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. at the Woodburn Seventh-day Adventist Church. There will be a private graveside ceremony at Aurora Community cemetery.

Newton
Josephine F. Newton, 90, of Woodburn, died Feb. 16, 2010. She was born June 17, 1919 in Yankton, S.D.
She was a housekeeper at the Benedictine Care Center.
She is survived by sons Joe Newton of Woodburn and Norman Newton of Tualatin; daughters Sherrie Underhill of Silverton, Sue Hudson of Woodburn and Jill Lytal of Kannapolis, N.C.; brothers Joe VonDrachek of Michigan, Vern VonDrachek of Washington and Stephen VonDrachek of Kansas; sisters Mae Amstutz of Silverton and Frances VonDrachek of Salem; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Feb. 20 at 11 a.m. at Belle Passi cemetery in Woodburn. Memorials can be made to Monitor Bible Church. Arrangements by Cornwell Colonial Chapel.

Schoor
Doris Ione Schoor, 78, of Woodburn, died Feb. 17, 2010. She was born April 17, 1931 in Venago, Neb. to William and Eva Shephard-Schmiedel.
She was a homemaker and was active with her church, the First Presbyterian Church of Woodburn and a member of the Woodburn PEO Chapter DT.
She married Edward Schoor on March 4, 1951.
She is survived by her husband Edward Schoor of Woodburn; son Wayne Schoor of Woodburn; daughter Janet Halme of Eagle Point; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Woodburn.
Memorial contributions can be made to Legacy Hospice of McMinnville, 2275 N.E. McDaniel Lane, McMinnville OR, 97128; PEO Chapter DT or First Presbyterian Church of Woodburn. Arrangements by Cornwell Colonial Chapel.

Payne
Lillian Jane Payne, 88, of Woodburn, died Feb. 19, 2010. She was born June 30, 1921 to William and Eva Hillhouse in La Grande.
She married Frank “Scott” Payne in La Grande in September of 1942. She graduated from high school and attended business school at Eastern Oregon College and then worked as a bookkeeper for over 40 years.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed volunteering at the Woodburn and Portland libraries. She also enjoyed swimming, reading books and walking.
She is survived by her husband Frank, of Woodburn; daughters Sandra Frick, of Newberg, Judith Payne, of Aloha and Gale Denis, of Portland; son John Payne, of Banks and 19 grandchildren.
Services will be private. Arrangements by Simon-Woodburn Funeral Chapel.

Foster
Freddie Ray Foster Jr., 29, of Hubbard, died April 3, 2010. He was born Jan. 28, 1981 in Portland to Freddy Sr. and Laura Foster. He grew up in the Stayton and Jefferson areas and had worked doing landscaping, construction and having worked as a dishwasher. He was currently enrolled as a college student. A graveside service will be held April 14 at 2 p.m. at Aumsville cemetery in Aumsville.

Speckels
Elsie Mae Speckels, 95, formerly of Woodburn, died April 15, 2010. She was born Jan. 3, 1915 in Pukwana, S.D. to Benjamin and Amanda McKee-Gomersall. She grew up and attended school in South Dakota, graduating from high school at the age of 15. At 19, she married Floyd Rohrer and they moved to Minnesota where they operated a farm in Shevlin.

Cruson
Frances Gertrude Cruson, 102, died March 21, 2010. She was born in Helena, Mont. and raised on an apple farm outside Victor, Mont. She was adopted by Adelia and Louis Napoleon Helm and loved music and singing. She graduated from Victor High School and was active in drama. She also played for the silent films at the Victor Opera House.

Stephenson
George Stephenson, 78, of Woodburn, died April 9, 2010. He was born Dec.

Kust
Joseph J. Kust, 91, of Woodburn, died April 2, 2010. He was born July 30, 1918 in Haugan, Wis. He moved to Woodburn in 1922 and attended St. Benedict Catholic School and Woodburn High School. He was employed by Frank Settlemier and the Woodburn canneries in the late 1930s.

Phillips
Mary Louise Phillips, 80, of Newberg, died March 31, 2010. She was born May 13, 1929 in Portland to Ray and Louise Muchen-Manegre. She grew up and attended school in St. Paul. She graduated from St. Paul High School in 1947 and also served as the St. Paul Rodeo queen that year. She married Lindy “Willis” Phillips.

Myhra
Harold Ray Myhra, 84, died March 24, 2010. He was born Jan. 4, 1926 in Kenmare, N.D. He lived in the Willamette Valley area for over 70 years, where he ran a pre-hung door shop and worked for the Parr Lumber Co. in Oak Grove. He served in the merchant marines in World War II and in the army during the Korean War.

Bacon
Jimmie D. Bacon, 64, of Woodburn, died March 22, 2010. He was born May 21, 1945 to Arvest and Bessie (Jones) Bacon in Caraway, Ark. He married Connie Jo Lyons. He enjoyed fishing every summer with the boys at Snake River, gardening and spending time with the grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Connie of Woodburn; sons Martin of Woodburn and Richard of Tigard; daughter DeeDee Bacon of Woodburn; brother, Dan Bacon of Wilsonville; and five grandchildren.

Baker
Brittie Bell Baker, 96, died March 11, 2010. She was born Sept. 25, 1913 in Jester, Okla. to Charlie and Diza Rogers. In December of 1913 her family traveled by wagon from Oklahoma to Colorado Springs, Colo. arriving in August of 1916. From there they went by train to Portland. In 1919, the family moved to the Hood River Valley and bought some land on Dee Flat where they planted a small orchard.

Stuart
David William Stuart, 75, of Woodburn, died March 12, 2010. He was born Jan. 24, 1935 in Stafford, Kan.He was a computer operator for Parr Lumber.He is survived by his wife, Juanita M. Stuart; daughter Dawn Emily Stuart McCarty; son Steven Nabil Stuart and sister Mary Ruth Derby.A celebration of life will be held at Cornwell Colonial Chapel on March 21 at 11 a.m.

Valdivia
Francisco Valdivia, 71, of Woodburn, died March 10, 2010. He was born Sept. 12, 1938 in Santa Maria del Oro, Mexico. He was a production laborer with a frozen food company. He is survived by his wife, Lydia Valdivia; sons, Temoto Valdivia, Margarito Lopez and Ray Lopez; daughters, Diana Dominguez and Nancy Guerrero; brothers Feliciano Valdivia, Santos Valdivia, Algandro Valdivia and Chencho Valdivia; sisters, Micaela Valdivia and Roserio Valdivia; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Glatt
Saralee (Ferguson) Glatt, 85, of Woodburn, died Nov. 5, 2010.She attended Gervais High School and Willamette University where she was president of Lausanne Hall.She taught school in Woodburn. She is survived by her partner, Bill Beringer; daughter, Marla Elizabeth; sister, Mar C. Barrett; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Hammer
Rosemarie Hammer, 85, of Woodburn, died Nov. 4, 2010. She was born Jan. 3, 1925 to Edward and Mary Hammer. She was the oldest of seven children and attended St. Mary’s Grade School, Mt. Angel Academy High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Mt. Angel Women’s College.

Wysock
John Wysock, 63, of Woodburn, died Nov. 1, 2010. He was born May 13, 1947 in Evanston, Ill.He worked as the executive director of planned giving for the American Cancer Society, retiring in 2005. He was president of the Wilsonville Rotary and a past member of the Knights of Columbus.

Johnston
Charles R. Johnston, 88, of Woodburn, died Oct. 25, 2010. He was born Dec. 21, 1921 in Woodburn to Charles P. and Margaret Johnson-Johnston. He attended school in Woodburn and enlisted in the Army during World War II. He married Ellen McCormick in Woodburn on Nov. 9, 1946. The owned a farm for several years before he became a sales representative for FMC Corporation, working in sales of farm chemicals and supplies.

Hoefling
Arlie Marcel Hoefling, 46, of Aurora, died Oct. 10, 2010. He was born May 1, 1964 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Ray Hoefling and Mayonne Hoefling-Thompson. He grew up in Salem and graduated from Salem Academy Christian. He got his degree from ITT Tech in Portland and was self employed as an electronic engineer.

Lemen
Naomi Lee Lemen, 85, of Woodburn, died Oct. 15, 2010. She was born June 17, 1925 in Clayton, Kan. to Clarence and Mina Sturm. She graduated from Woodburn High School in 1943. She married Donald Lemen in 1943 and she was a homemaker. She enjoyed RV trips to Arizona and Mexico with friends, fishing in Garibaldi, gardening and family gatherings.

Myers
Paul Edward Myers, 86, died Oct. 11, 2010. He was born Oct. 17, 1923 in Brighton, Iowa. He worked as a security guard and farmer. He owned a cattle farm and row crops in Iowa in his earlier years. He was a member of the Methodist church and belonged to the Masonic Order. He is survived by his wife, Diane Myers; sons, Mike Myers, of Iowa, Richard Myers, of Iowa, Martin Adams, of Salem, Mark Adams of Portland, Michael Adams, of Salem, Mitchell Adams, of Portland; daughters, Karen Richardson, of Portland and Maria Snell, of Hubbard; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Rodriguez
Charlotte Edna Panko Doney Rodriguez, 59, died Sept. 6, 2010. She was born Feb. 2, 1951, in Portland to Tony and Edna Panko. She graduated from Centennial High School in 1969 and moved to Canby in 1978.In April 2003, she married Billy L. Rodriguez in Umatilla. She was an Avon sales representative for more than 35 years and worked as a clerk for K&M Auction for more than 20 years.

Cox
Betty Jane Cox, 82, of Woodburn, died Dec. 17, 2010. She was born June 1, 1928 in Yuba City, Calif. She was a member of the Woodburn United Methodist Church. She volunteered at Washington Park Zoo from 1982-88, belonged to the Woodburn Art Association and worked at the Woodburn Public Library.

Stampley
Cecilia Mae Stampley, 75, of Woodburn, died Nov. 30, 2010. She was born May 20, 1935 in Joes, Colo. She lived in Woodburn before moving to California. She moved back to Woodburn in 1998. She was a member of the Foursquare Church of Canby and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

Allen
Edna Allen, 89, of Woodburn, died Dec. 3, 2010. She was born Nov. 16, 1921 in Clinton, Okla. She was a homemaker, having lived on the family farm since 1952, and worked at Birdseye Cannery, until retiring in 1981. She enjoyed baking and traveling and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Woodburn.

McPherson
Debra Jill McPherson, 58, of Woodburn, died Nov. 29, 2010. She was born Aug. 20, 1952 in Roseburg.
She graduated from Woodburn High School and married Denis McPherson in 1974. She collected dolls, pandas and was a member of the Eagles. She enjoyed doing crafts of all kinds.
She is survived by her husband, Denis, of Woodburn; children, Melissa McPherson and Denis McPherson Jr.; father, Joel Mattson, of Sutherlin; brothers, Dennis Castor, of Keizer, Mark Castor, of Prineville and Perri Castor, of Woodburn; and sister, Patti Allen, of Madras.
There will be a funeral service Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at Cornwell Colonial Chapel of Woodburn and interment will be at Belle Passi cemetery in Woodburn.

Kraft
Darin C. Kraft, 50, of Hawaii, died Nov. 27, 2010. He was born Jan. 6, 1960 to Joyce and Clarence Kraft.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Kraft, of Woodburn; father, Clarence Kraft, of North Pole, Alaska; sons, Adam Kraft, of Seattle, and Anthony Kraft, of Arizona; daughter, Jamie Kraft, of Fairbanks, Alaska; sisters, Karmen Flowers, of Salem, and Karla Burke, of North Carolina; brother, Brent Kraft, of Tigard; and one grandson.
No local services are planned.

Kamara
Annette Bozarth Kamara, 89, of Gresham, died Nov. 29, 2010. She was born June 6, 1921 in Portland to George and Louise (Owens-Schiller) Bozarth. She attended Lewis and Clark Junior High School in Astoria and later Jefferson High School in Portland. She worked as a caretaker for different Portland families and, during World War II, she worked in the shipyards in downtown Portland.

Kouva
Everett Kouva, 85, of Woodburn, died Nov. 27, 2010. He was born July 4, 1925 in Nehalem to John and Ina Kouva. He attended school in Nehalem and eventually moved to the Portland area where he drove truck. He moved to Woodburn 11 years ago. He loved to square dance. He is survived by his companion, Sharon Pederson, of Woodburn; brother, Jack Kouva, of Woodburn and sister, Evelyn Urban, of San Antonio.
