Aho
Armas Aho, 89, of Woodburn died Aug. 1, 2002.
Born June 20, 1913, in Crystal Falls, Mich., he participated in winter sports and school athletics. He graduated from Crystal Falls High School. He worked for WPA in the 1930s, and worked several years with the railroad. He also worked as a machinist at Crown Zellerbach in West Linn for 25 years, retiring in 1990.
His interests included his family, skiing, work, humor, outdoors, sports, politics and current events.
He married Ella Laura Gerber in 1931, in Provo, Utah.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Eva Southwell of Sherwood, Carole Allison of Woodburn; sons, Wally of Molalla and Don Aho of Portland; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 10 at 2278 Boones Ferry Road in Woodburn.
Arrangements are by Simon-Woodburn Funeral Chapel.

Sackett
Herbert Morris Sackett, 85, of Woodburn died Aug. 7, 2002, as a result of a stroke.
Born Dec. 1, 1916, in Montesano, Wash., he was a minister and pastor for the Church of God in Anderson, Ind. He lived in Woodburn for 20 years.
He married Ines R. Howard in 1939.
Survivors include his wife; son, Dale A. Sackett of Gresham; sisters, Olive Martin of Portland and Gladys Ott of Sacramento, Calif.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 10 in Lynchwood Church of God, Portland.
Arrangements are by Omega Funeral and Cremation Service.

Gordon
John Gordon, 82, of Woodburn died Aug. 9, 2002.
Born Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, he was a boiler engineer and was a member of the Local 501 Engineers Unions in Los Angeles. He farmed in 1936 and 1953.
He married Isabelle Gordon Nov. 7, 1947, in Plumas, Manitoba, Canada.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Frances Pearce of Woodburn; sister, Mary Parker of Neepawa, Manitoba; one grandchild.
Services will begin 11 a.m. Aug. 16 Simon-Woodburn Funeral Chapel.
Arrangements are by Simon-Woodburn Funeral Chapel.

Craig
Kenneth MacKenzie Craig, 75, of Woodburn died Aug. 9, 2002.
Born May 30, 1927, in Enterprise, he was a graduate of Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash., and a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He was a third generation cattle rancher in Enterprise for 30 years. He moved to Woodburn where he was a history teacher at OSCI for 21 years, retiring in 1990. He lived in Enterprise before moving to Woodburn in 1969. He was a member of the Eagles and Elks lodges.
He married Betty Jane Hermann in 1957; she died in 1990.
Survivors include his companion, Louise Zielaskowski of Woodburn; daughters, Sallie Nigg of Canby, Susan Craig of Philomath and Cheryl Craig of Houston, Texas; son, Robert Craig of Omaha, Neb.; sister, Joyce McFetridge of Joseph; and three grandchildren.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Aug. 15 in Simon-Woodburn Funeral Chapel.
Arrangements are by Simon-Woodburn Funeral Chapel.

Hall
Vivian R. Hall, 79, of Woodburn died Aug. 11, 2002.
Born June 30, 1923, in Texas, she moved to Woodburn in 1935. She was a homemaker. She was also a member of the Eagles Lodge.
Her interests included bowling.
She married Fred S. Hall Oct. 9, 1948, in Reno, Nev.
Survivors include her son, Edward Schnee of Bay Town, Texas; daughters, Barbara Thelen of Woodburn and Janet Fregonese of Portland; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will begin 2 p.m. Aug. 14 in Cornwell Colonial Chapel, Woodburn.
Arrangements are by Cornwell Colonial Chapel.

Dusenberry
Mary E. Dusenberry, 97, of Woodburn died Aug. 10, 2002.
Born April 12, 1905, in Lucerne, Mo., she worked as a seamstress at many department stores including Meier and Frank and Charles Berg. She also worked at Magnum as manager of the alterations department. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, and was a past matron of the Order of Eastern Star. She was also past president of the Daughters of the Nile.
Her interests included gardening and sewing.
She married Leo Dusenberry in 1925, in Lucerne; he died in 1978.
Survivors include her son, Larry Dusenberry of Woodburn; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Aug. 15 in Cornwell Colonial Chapel, Woodburn. Private interment will be in Finley's Sunset Hills in Portland.
Arrangements are by Cornwell Colonial Chapel.
Contributions may be made to the Woodburn United Methodist Church.

Batzlaff
Chuck Batzlaff, 78, of Woodburn died Sept. 24, 2002.
Born May 14, 1924, in South Dakota, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Bellarmine Prep School in Tacoma, Wash. He worked as a postal letter carrier for the Tacoma Post Office for 36 years, retiring in 1979. He lived in Tacoma, Wash., before moving to Woodburn in 1990. He was a member of the Woodburn Senior Estates Golf and Country Club.
His interests included golfing, shuffleboard, traveling and sports.
Survivors include his niece, Loretta Batzlaff of Woodburn; nephews, Dan Batzlaff of Woodburn, Tom Batzlaff of Clackamas, and Ron Batzlaff of Vancouver, Wash. A brother, Ronald, died in 1989.
Graveside services were held Sept. 30 in Willamette National cemetery, Portland.
Arrangements were by Cornwell Colonial Chapel, Woodburn.
Contributions may be made to the American Heart or the American Lung Association.

Kahle
Evelyn R. Kahle, 86, of Aurora, died Sept. 25, 2002.
Born April 15, 1916, in Aurora, she was a graduate of Canby High School. She was a homemaker and cook for North Marion Schools for 30 years.
She married Fred Kahle; he died in 1999.
Survivors include her son, Rick Kahle of Aurora; daughters, Marlita Stauffer of Hubbard and Heidi Schoonover of Lafayette; and five grandchildren.
At her request, no services will be held.
Arrangements were by Cornwell Colonial Chapel, Woodburn.

Williamson
Carl Erwin Williams, 78, of Woodburn died Sept. 25, 2002.
Born July 29, 1924, in Burlington, Iowa, he was a veteran service officer for the American Legion. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Idaho, Scottish Rite in Portland, Al Kader Temple in Wilsonville, Eastern Star in Tigard, American Legion, Main Street Cowboys of Pendleton Rodeo Association, lifetime member of the VFW and member of the First Christian Church. He lived in Pendleton and Tigard before moving to Woodburn in 1997.
He married Anna Dale Coleman May 5, 1984, in Medford.
Survivors include his sons, C. Edward Williamson of Pendleton and Tom Williamson of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter, Nancy Sanders of Anchorage, Alaska; stepson, Dale Bahannan of Medford; stepdaughter, Judy Fitzgerald of Bradenton, Fla., stepbrother, Glen Burgin of Portland; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.
Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 3 in Simon-Woodburn Funeral Chapel.
Arrangements are by Simon-Woodburn Funeral Chapel.
Contributions may be made to the Transportation Fund: Al Kader Shrine Center, 1860 S.W. Salish Lane, Wilsonville, Ore. 97070.

Gillespie
Delores Gillespie, 68, of Woodburn died Sept. 26, 2002.
Born April 27, 1934, in Wenatchee, Wash., she worked at the fish counter for the Army Corps of Engineers. She served as a Navy corpsman. She was a member of the Alliance Church in Woodburn, American Legion, Elks, NARFE and Home Extension. She lived in Woodburn for 18 years.
She married Edmon Gillespie April 18, 1958, in Mount Vernon, Wash.
Survivors include her husband; daughter, Laura Schofield of Pendleton and Ardicta "Dee" Conlan of Wilsonville; mother, Dorothy Lewis; brothers, Ivan Kimball Jr. and Ron Lewis; sisters, Darlene Sheets, Naomi Griggs and Carol Woodbury; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 1 in Simon-Woodburn Funeral Chapel.
Arrangements were by Simon-Woodburn Funeral Chapel.
Contributions may be made to Alzheimer Association.
