Fred E. Eggers
Fred Edward Eggers, 90, of Lincoln City, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001.
He was born Dec. 4, 1911 in Walla Walla, Wash., and moved to the Lincoln City area in the 1960s.
Surviving are his wife, Theta Eggers of Lincoln City; two sons, Thomas Kennedy Eggers and Edward Kennedy Eggers, both of Portland, Ore. and a step-son, Dana Ross Botkin of Federal Way, Wash.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a half-brother.
Graveside services were held Thursday, Dec. 20, with interment at Mountain View cemetery in Walla Walla, Wash.
Pacific View Memorial Chapel, Lincoln City, handled the arrangements.

Alice L. Ward
Alice Louise Ward, 92, of Lincoln city, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001.
She was born July 20, 1909 in Neskowin to Del and Laura Winter, and attended Slab Creek Grade School. On Oct. 10, 1923 Alice married Guy Ward in Tillamook.
Together they owned and operated two different dairy farms at different times near Neskowin until about 1962. Mrs. Ward then raised cattle on their farm after the death of Mr. Ward. She lived in the farm house until just four years ago when she moved to Lincoln City.
Mrs. Ward is remembered for having a close loving family and being a loving wife and mother.
Surviving are her three sons, Larry Ward of Neskowin, Keith Ward of Ontario and Cal Ward of Cloverdale; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Cloverdale Presbyterian Church. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Oretown cemetery.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the charity of their choice, c/o Waud's Funeral Home, 1414 Third St., Tillamook, OR 97141.
Waud's Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Geraldine P. Brown
Geraldine Phylis Brown, 67, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001 at her Lincoln City residence.
She was born April 6, 1934 in Garrison, N.D. On June 20, 1970 she married Lyle Brown. She had worked for Best Kaiser Hospital for many years as a healthcare coordinator, and moved here from Portland in 1983.
Mrs. Brown was very active in her church and had made many friends throughout her life.
Surviving are her husband, Lyle Brown of Lincoln City; daughters Deborah R. Richards Menconi of Beaverton and Christine Jean Richard of Portland; a son, Dirk Neal Richard of Vancouver, Wash.; a brother, Ron Henne of Bakersfield, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the Congregational Church in Lincoln City, with interment at Skyline Memorial Park in Portland.
Pacific View Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements.

Michael Chapman
Michael Chapman of Milwaukie, Ore., died of liver cancer on March 25, 2012. He was 56.
He was born Jan. 11, 1956, in Torrance, Calif. to Katherine Kozile Chapman and Donald Chapman.
Michael grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army. He lived in Lincoln City, and Depoe Bay, and ultimately Milwaukie, Ore. Michael was the proud father of five children and four grandchildren. He was a talented and skilled wood craftsman, artist and fisherman. Mike had a great respect for the outdoors. He was employed as a carpenter.
He was an avid fan of the Oregon Ducks, Washington Redskins and Seattle Seahawks football teams. He liked golfing, the Raptor Research Project, Decorah Eagles, Nascar Racing, off-road riding, carpentry, old western movies, camping, hiking and biking with family and friends.
Michael is survived by his sons, Jesse Chapman and Kyle Chapman of Portland and Steven Chapman of Milwaukie, Ore.; his daughters, Nicole Chapman of Portland and Shauna Gentry (John) of Milwaukie, Ore.; his sisters, Fran Word and Bev Pettit of Lake Isabella, Calif., Lynn Witter of Sheridan, Ore., and Pam Hart of Lakewood, Calif.; and his brother, Eric Chapman of McMinnville, Ore. He is also survived by four grandchildren Kayla, Quinton, Trevor and Kaydance.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Chapman and mother Katherine Kozile; sisters Betty West and Donna Chapman; and brother Daryll Chapman.
A celebration of life and graveside services have been held.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Services entrusted into the care of Affordable Burial & Cremation Co. of Newport.

Charles Andrew Richmond
Charles Andrew (Chuck) Richmond, 75, died Dec. 17, 2001 in Lincoln City.
He was born on June 17, 1926.
A service for Richmond will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Congregational Church in Lincoln City.

Susan J. Oyle
Susan Jean Oyle, 54, of Lincoln city, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001.
She was born July 24, 1947 in Inglewood, Calif. She had been a real estate agent.
Surviving are three brothers, Carl Gordon III of Redmond, Ore., James W. Gordon of Ashville, N.C., and Robert Gordon of Gresham, Ore.
Preceding Susan in death were her parents, Carl E. Gordon, Jr. and Sue Gordon.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Windermere Properties, (new location) 820 SE Hwy. 101, in Lincoln City.
Memorial contributions are suggested to North Lincoln Home Health Hospice.
Pacific View Memorial Chapel, Lincoln City, handled the arrangements.

Elizabeth L. Schermerhorn
Elizabeth L. Schermerhorn, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002 in Hillsboro, Ore. at the age of 76.
Mrs. Schermerhorn was born June 21, 1925 in Newark, N.J. After graduating from Tobe-Coburn School for Fashion Careers, New York, N.Y., she married and held various positions in the fashion retailing business. After her husband Bill's death in 1979 she moved to Beaverton to be near her two sons, finally moving to Lincoln City in 1984. She was employed at John's Department Store and Folkestad Pharmacy in Lincoln City and served in several volunteer capacities including RSVP where she organized their annual charity golf tournament. Liz loved the ocean, lighthouses, writing and drawing.
She is survived by her two sons, Rick and Bill Schermerhorn, both residing in Beaverton, as well as four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
There was a private family service. Remembrances are suggested to Tuality Health Care, Cancer Center, Hillsboro, Ore.

Joanne Goodman
Joanne Goodman, 71, of Lincoln City, died Thursday, January 31, 2002. She was born May 24, 1930 in Spokane, Washington.
Mrs. Goodman was a homemaker who moved to the Oregon coast in 1987 from Spokane. She moved here "just because she loved the ocean."
Surviving are two daughters, Holly Millar of Spokane, Wash. and Heather Osborne of San Francisco, Calif., and a brother John Paulson of Kelona, British Columbia.
No services are planned at this time.

Patricia R. Stewart
Patricia Rae Stewart, of Lincoln City, died June 15, 2010. She was 81.
Stewart was born November 2, 1928, at #1 Ranger Station located in the Idaho Forest, near the Middle Fork of the Clearwater River, about 25 miles upstream from Kooskia, Idaho
In 1934 she moved to Kalispell Bay in Priest Lake, Idaho where she began her early schooling in a one-room school house which was located about 30 miles from home.
She spent a few months in Lewiston, Idaho but then relocated to Kalispell, Montana in 1935.
When she was 12 years old and in the seventh grade, her parents took her out of school as they relocated to Powell District, where her father accepted a ranger's position.
As the daughter of a Forest Ranger, she shared many adventures in nature with her family.
Patricia attended high school in Missoula but in her freshman year, 1944, her family relocated to Portland.
Her family later moved to Parkrose where she graduated from Parkrose High School. In 1947, as a senior in high school, she began work at J.K. Gill in downtown Portland.
It was there where she fell in love with a co-worker, Richard Stewart.
She continued her schooling at Oregon Business College; however, she and Richard "Dick" were married on May 29, 1948, ending her educational pursuit but beginning a rich and loving marriage that lasted for 62 years until her death.
Silver Lake in Fremont National Forest became their first home.
In 1949, they relocated to Portland where she gave birth to her first child. In 1958, they moved to southeast Portland, where they remained for 19 years.
In 1976, Patricia moved to Otis, then two years later relocated in Lincoln City. Patricia worked as an aide for Oceanlake Grade School, Folkstads Drugstore, and at the Liquor Store in Lincoln City.
Patricia loved to collect Indian and Native American artifacts.
She loved sewing, particularly comforters, embroidery, and making special wall hangings. She loved the outdoors and hosted forest survivor camps.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Franklin Stewart; daughters Rae Ferguson Tilton and Stephanie Kathleen Tilton; sons Richard Franklin Stewart, Jr. and Clyde Eugene "Gene" Stewart; brothers Clyde Alexander Ferguson and Ray Stephens Ferguson; 13 grandchildren Angela, Melisa, Jennifer, Hillary, Aimee, Brady, Nathan, Stacy, Lee, Chase, Chris, Doug and Eric; six great-grandchildren Chad, Mya, Kaleb, Jayden, Haley, and Gage.
She was predeceased by her son, James Frederick Stewart, and sisters Jacqueline Edna Ballas and Phyllis Irene Greenlaw.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, at the Episcopal Parish of St. James, 2490 N.E. Highway 101, Lincoln City.
There will be a lunch reception at the church following the service.
Her final resting place will be at the church gardens.
Her final arrangements are entrusted to Pacific View Memorial Chapel, Lincoln City.
