Carolyn Mildred Schildmeyer was born in Albany, Oregon, on June 14, 1921, the daughter of John Frederick and Kathrine Matilda (Thiessen) Grenz, Sr. She grew up in Albany and graduated from Albany High School. She then worked for L.L. Swan, an attorney in Albany.
Carolyn married Lloyd E. Schildmeyer on June 14, 1941 in Albany. They lived in Portland 1942-43 and then moved to Salem and lived in the Salem area for the rest of their lives. Lloyd preceded her in death on October 9, 1999.
She worked hard as a tax preparer for many years. She was a member of the Catholic Church and the Home Extension. She enjoyed canning, bowling and playing cards and family board games. She crocheted afghans for each of her grandchildren whom she dearly loved.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Roger Schildmeyer of Sacramento, California, David Schildmeyer of Honolulu, Hawaii, Gregory Schildmeyer of Peachtree City, Florida, Donald Schildmeyer of Salem, Anita Betz of Salem, and Brenda McFall of Kent, Washington, 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous close nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, her parents, her brothers, Francis, George and John Grenz and her sisters, Kathrine Muller and Adeline Tanson.
Memorial Services will be held at Fisher Funeral Home at 2pm, Tuesday, September 2. Private interment will be at Jefferson cemetery. Contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice, c/o Fisher Funeral Home.

Alma Pauline Smith

Alma Pauline Smith was born July 27, 1929 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Fred Fearnot and Thelma Lucille (Murphy) Sapp. She moved to Albany as a teenager.
Alma married Harrison R. Smith, Jr. on September 17, 1949 in Albany. They moved to Tillamook in 1959 and returned to Albany in 2002. He preceded her in death on January 31 of this year.
Alma worked at Veal's Chair Factory in Albany for several years. She was an excellent cook. She enjoyed sewing and doing crossword puzzles. She enjoyed gardening, especially raising roses.
She was a member of a non-denominational Christian Fellowship. She loved reading her Bible.
She is survived by her son, Dave Morris Smith of Bellingham, Washington, her daughters, Linda Louise Johnson of Albany and Elaine Marie Smith of Turner, her grandchildren, Mandy, Alisha and Eric, her 3 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Noah and Joey, and her sister, Wilma Averill of John Day. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother, Bill Sapp,
At her request, there will be no service. Private entombment will be at Willamette Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Ann Menzel-Johnson

Ann Menzel-Johnson was born May 14, 1930 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, the daughter of Alymar and Lura (Messer) Jennings. She lived in Sikeston, Missouri before moving to Richmond, California where she worked in an electronics assembly plant. She later owned and operated 5 different restaurants.
After many confusing problems with her given name ''Jimmie'', she changed it to ''Ann''.
Ann lived in Emeryville and Santa Clara, California where she worked at FMC building war tanks and headed up the design department.
Ann moved to Albany in 1989 and had lived here since.
She was involved with the local chapter of the National Federation of the Blind. She enjoyed sewing and made wedding wardrobes before she lost her sight. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, cooking and horseback riding.
Ann married Duane Johnson in 1996 in Albany. He survives, as does her son, Tom Geoffrey Lee of San Jose, California, her daughter, Regena Elizabeth Brookes of Phoenix, Arizona, 1 step-grandchild, her brothers, Alex Cantrell of Paris, Tennessee and Eric Stephen of Atlanta, Georgia, and her sisters, Faith Delano Shore of Arlinton, Tennessee, Norma June Munns of Crossville, Tennessee, and Jeannie Dolleen Woodring of Cocoa Beach, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Roberta Jewell Pitchford III.
At her request, there will be no service. Contributions may be made to the National Federal of the Blind, c/o Fisher Funeral Home.

Lucy Ann McCracken

Lucy Ann McCracken was born November 13, 1938 in Long Beach, California, the daughter of Hugo and Doris (Van Amberg) Woth. She graduated from high school in 1956 at Redland, California. She attended San Bernardino Valley College.
Lucy married Pastor David B. McCracken on September 22, 1962 in Yucaipa, California. They lived in Yucaipa until moving to Albany, Oregon in 1969. They moved to Andrew, Iowa in 1972, then returned to Oregon in 1977 and lived in Corvallis until moving to Brownsville in 1985.
Lucy was a minister's wife, piano teacher and choir director for over 40 years. She was the accompanist for the Central Linn High School Choir and the Brownsville Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was an organist for the Calvin Presbyterian Church in Corvallis.
Lucy was a member of the Presbyterian Church; Presbyterian Marriage Encounter - National Clergy Couple; Women's Aglow Fellowship; Brownsville Study Club; Pollyanna Club; Yucaipa, California Presbyterian Church and the Brownsville Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Pastor David McCracken of Brownsville, her son, Roger David McCracken of Brownsville, her daughter, Nancy Diane Kropf of Grants Pass, 2 grandchildren, and her sister, Barbara Callaway of Medford. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Richard Allen McCracken, her parents, and her brother, Stephen Woth.
Memorial Services will be held at the Albany First Assembly of God Church at 1:00pm, Saturday, March 13, 2004. Private inurnment will be at Willamette Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the Brownsville Presbyterian Church or the charity of one's choice, c/o Fisher Funeral Home.

Zelma Mae Summers

Zelma Mae Summers was born April 29, 1925 in Jerusalem, Arkansas, the daughter of Ira and Sarah Elizabeth (Kincannon) Cato.
Selma married Ray Summers on November 20, 1943 in Conway, Arkansas. They moved to Oregon in 1950 and lived in Florence until moving to Dallas in 1976. He preceded her in death on September 27, 1986. She moved to Albany in 2002.
She worked in the laundry department in hospitals in Florence and Dallas. After retiring, she volunteered at the Dallas Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the Dallas Church of Christ. She loved having roses.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Johnson of Lebanon and Brenda Summers of Albany, 2 grandchildren, Trina Zimbelman of Eugene and Kim Welsh of Albany, 4 great-grandchildren,her brother, Bill Cato of Jerusalem, Arkansas and her sister, Jean Blalock of Dardanelle, Arkansas.
Graveside services will be held at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene at 10:00am, Wednesday, August 11. Arrangements are by Fisher Funeral Home.

Dick Seavy

Dick Seavy died in Alaska July 1, 2004. He was born May 30, 1913 in Billings, Montana, the son of Rufus and Blanche (Jennison) Seavy.
Dick was a longtime resident of Albany and had moved to Sun City, Arizona in March 2003.
Dick married Garnet C. Gerber on October 12, 1934 in Albany. She preceded him in death on October 26, 2001.
He had worked for the Albany Ice Plant. He was a Foreman of Diamond K. Ranch. He was a plumber for 39 years and had worked for Kampher Plumbing & Appliance and then for Beaver Plumbing of Corvallis.
Dick was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, a life member of Albany Elks Lodge and Albany Eagles Lodge, and was a Diamond Amway Distributor. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, clamming and golfing.
He is survived by his daughter, Myrna Schwab of Sun City, Arizona, 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his daughter, Sharon Marie Lee in 1994 and his son, Ernest ''Ray'' Hood on October 25, 2002.
Memorial Services will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church at 10:00am, Thursday, August 12, 2004. Contributions may be made to American Heart Association, c/o Fisher Funeral Home.

Herbert R. Julsrud

Herbert R. Julsrud was born October 12, 1914 in Barnesville, Minnesota, the son of Ole and Bertine (Holt) Julsrud. He was raised in Minnesota, where he was a farmer, later worked for a Sand & Gravel Company, the Railroad, a Potato Plant and a Turkey Plant.
Herbert married Lenora Fredrickson on March 9, 1940 in Rothsay, Minnesota. They moved to Albany in 1963 and have lived here since.
He worked for Morse Brothers for 16 years, retiring in 1981 as the Asphalt Plant Operator.
Herbert was a member of the North Immanuel Church of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota and the Faith Lutheran Church of Albany.
His hobby was woodworking and he made many lovely pieces of furniture for his home, children, and grandchildren. He was a quiet man with deep feelings for his family and church. He was always so proud of his family. He enjoyed music until his hearing became bad. Due to a fall, he became a wheel chair patient 2 1/2 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Lenora Julsrud of Albany, his children, Wesley & Marsha Julsrud of Lebanon and Joanne & Nick Treinen of Nampa, Idaho, grandchildren, Herb & Kelli, Rhonda & Gregg, Gloria, Eric & Jennifer, Tim & Jenny and Jeff & Tami, great-grandchildren, Tucker, Hannah, Trista, Cameron, Jesse, Ben, Melinda, Ray, Tyler, Alix, Sydney, Reilly, Jackie, Blake, Zach and Hayden, and his sister, Ruth Bakke of Barnesville, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Judith Smith Milton, his parents, his brothers, Oliver, Orville & Joseph, and his sisters, Mabel Haugtvedt, Bernice Haugtvedt, Bertha Haugrud and Ruby Bolstad.
Visitation will be at Fisher Funeral Home from 5-8pm, Wednesday, August 11. Services will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church at 10:00am, Friday, August 13, with Committal Services at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Daniela died at her home in Albany. She was born in Vienna, Austria, the daughter of Karl & Renate Sonnderfer. She lived most of her life in Torrence, California. She lived in Paris, California, Klamath Falls, Oregon and Longview, Washington before moving to Albany, Oregon in 1997.
Daniela married Arthur Mora on June 16, 1984 in Long Beach, California.
She had worked at Linn Benton Community College in Albany. She attended Oak Creek Christian Center. She enjoyed cooking and helping others. She loved her husband, children and granddaughter.
Daniela is survived by her husband, Arthur of Albany, children, Krystle, Laura-Ashley and Michael and granddaughter, Ariana, all of Albany, mother, Renate and half-sister, Caroline, both of Bakersfield, CA and half-brother, Michael of Arizona.

Homer ''Archie'' Dowell

Archie was born in San Bernardino, California, the son of William Alvie and Alice Mary (West) Dowell. His father died while Archie was a small child and he returned with his mother to the family farm on Jefferson-Marion Road in Jefferson.
He attended public school in Jefferson, graduating from Jefferson High School in 1934. In 1937 he completed a course on Diesel Engines, earning a ''Certificate of Achievement'' in Adult Education from the Oregon Department of Education.
Archie spent his growing up years on the family farm which was settled in 1876 by his maternal grandfather, Ashby West. It was officially recognized as a Century Farm in 1976.
He helped his uncles work the farm and continued to run the farm after their deaths while also working for the Marion-Linn Farmers Union Co-op. He spent time in Seattle during World War II as an employee of Boeing Aircraft. He also worked as a custodian at Jefferson Elementary School and as a seed sample collector for the State of Oregon. He enjoyed farm life and life in Jefferson.
Archie was a member of the Jefferson Evangelical Church, a Life Member of the Jefferson Lodge Number 33 of the Masons and a Life Member of the Euclid Chapter 70 of the Order of Eastern Star.
Archie married Hazel Yutzie on Octber 14, 1972. She preceded him in death in 1988. He is survived by eight of her children and by several second-cousins.
Viewing will be at Fisher Funeral Home from 5-8pm, Thursday, March 10. A public graveside service will be at Jefferson cemetery at 10am, Friday, March 11. Contributions may be made to the Jefferson Evangelical Church, c/o Fisher Funeral Home.

J. Ruby Fulkerson

Ruby Fulkerson died at home February 12, 2005 in Albany, Oregon of natural causes.
She was born September 3, 1918 in Barnard, Kansas to John and Myrtle Cook. She lived there only until the spring of 1920 when her family moved to a homestead near Gillette, Wyoming. She completed her normal training and graduated from high school in Gillette and taught country school for 3 or 4 years.
Ruby married Bill Fulkerson on June 2, 1940 in Gillette. They lived in Gillette most of their married life, exxcept while Bill served in the Air Force in the early 1940's. Ruby was active in several community organizations including Community Concerts and Friends of the Library. Following Bill's death, Ruby moved to Albany, Oregon in January of 1999. Ruby loved playing bridge, reading and being outdoors.
She is survived by daughters, Julie Dockter of Aurora, Colo. and Pam Fulkerson (Gustafson) of Albany, grandson Kane Dockter of Denver, granddaughters Sage & Tarah Gustafson of Albany, sisters, Avis Harrod, Opal Butcher, Doris Wagensen and Bernice Hampton, all of Gillette, Pauline Haas of Saratoga, Wyoming and Donna Jean Phenix of Madison, Wisconsin, brother Cecle Cook of Gillette and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Irene Persson and brother Allan Dean Cook.
Memorials can be sent to Library Foundation, c/o Campbell Couny Public Library System, 2101 South 4J Road, Gillette, WY 82718 or Audubon Wyoming, 400 E. 1st Street, Ste 308, Casper, WY 92601. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, March 19, at the Episcopal Church in Gillette, Wyoming.
