Spencer Edward Bilderback
Aug. 6, 1989 — June 19, 2009

Spencer E. Bilderback, 19, of Lebanon died Friday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

Spencer was born in Eugene, the son of Anthony and Ruth (Hansen) Bilderback. In 1994, he moved to Lebanon, where he lived his childhood on the family’s grass seed farm. He was currently a student at Linn-Benton Community College and had dreams of someday becoming a physical therapist. He worked as a custodian at Avamere Rehabilitation of Lebanon, where he was known as the “Floor Polish Pro.”

Spencer loved being around people, being in the outdoors and spending time with his family and his girlfriend. He enjoyed playing tennis and golf and was a master of all video games. He lived his life by E.L.E.B. (Everybody Love Everybody).

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Ruth and Tim Hayes of Lebanon; father and stepmother Anthony and Julie Bilderback of Massachusetts; brothers Tyler, Brian, Kenny, Luke and Drew; and several aunts and uncles and extended family who loved him.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Providence cemetery near Scio. A potluck picnic will follow the service at Roaring River Park.

Jose ‘Bud’ Manuel Perry
May 22, 1933 — June 21, 2009

Jose “Bud” Manuel Perry, 76, passed away Sunday.

He was born in Bellingham, Wash., to Joseph and Candia (Perze) Perry.

He came to Sweet Home as a child and attended schools there. He enjoyed football and basketball as a child and was part of the eighth-grade Champions. He enjoyed working and restoring cars.

Jose is survived by his children, Franklin Manuel Perry and Edgar DeWane Perry, both of Sweet Home, and Leta DeAnna Perry of Lebanon; sister Adeline Webb of Florence; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

No services are planned at this time.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.

David Theodore Harrison
May 17, 1927 — June 18, 2009

David Theodore Harrison, 82, of Albany died Friday at his home.

David was born in Grandville, Mich., to Earl and Rilia (Fretz) Harrison. He was raised in the Milan area of Illinois from the 1930s to 1948. He graduated from Sherrard Community High School in 1945.

He lived in Coal Valley, Ill., until 1956, and then spent 10 years in Azusa, Calif. After spending three years in El Cajon, Calif., David moved to Albany, where he spent the remainder of his years.

While living in Coal Valley, David married Shirley Jean Litchfield on Oct. 24, 1948.

David was a member of the Masonic Lodge — Valley Lodge 547 — in Coal Valley, and was a past worthy patron of Valley Chapter 274 of the Order of the Eastern Star, also in Illinois.

David enjoyed gardening and fishing. He also liked watching sports on his television, especially auto racing.

David is survived by his wife; children Mark Harrison of Lebanon, Shirley “Joann” Fisher of Hollister, Mo., and Colleen Harrison of Avignon, France; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents; brother Raymond; and sisters Ruth Anderson and Charlotte Rohr.

The family is planning services for a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association and sent in care of Fisher Funeral Home, 306 Washington St. S.W., Albany, OR 97321.

Thomas J. Hughes
Dec. 17, 1928 — Oct. 24, 2008

A memorial service and dedication is planned for 6 p.m. June 27, 2009, at Kinzua Hills Golf Course in Fossil, following a golf tournament in his honor.

Zane Culbertson
March 28, 1956 - Aug. 26, 2009

Zane Leroy Culbertson, 53, passed unexpectedly Wednesday in a tragic logging accident and will be sorely missed by all who loved him.

Zane, the eldest of seven children, was born in Henderson, Nev., to Jerry Eugene Berger and Claire 'Rosanne' Graves and was adopted by Kenneth Ray Culbertson.

He grew up in Sweet Home and lived in Salem for most of his life. Zane lived in Bend over the past two years where he was an auto technician. He also loved driving log trucks was employed with B & S logging out of Prineville where he acquired a passion again for logging, having been a log truck driver other times during his life.

Zane had a passion and zeal for life, especially cars and hot rods, and those closest to him would say Zane worked hard and played hard. He enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hiking, hunting, and snow and water skiing. He also enjoyed country dancing and barbecues with family and friends.

Zane is survived by his loving wife of two years, RoxAnn "Roxy"; mother Rosanne; son Patrick; daughter Courtney Michelle; stepsons John, Tim and Brian; brothers Aaron Culbertson, Phillip Culbertson, Kevin Burger, Russell Burger and Brian Burger; sisters Leah Culbertson and Lisa Culbertson; and his beautiful grandchildren, Austin and Reese.

Zane was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Culbertson; and "man's best friend" and loyal companion of 10 years, Bandit.

Zane loved the Lord, his family and his friends.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the River center in Lebanon.

Eugene Thomas Luke
April 22, 1977 - Aug. 15, 2009

Eugene Thomas Luke, 32, of Albany passed away Saturday.

He was born in Lebanon to Patricia Lynn Kennelly. He grew up in Sweet Home, graduating from Sweet Home High School in 1995, where he won the state 3A 215-pound title as a senior with a 30-1 record under wrestling Coach Norm Davis. He attended the welding program at Linn-Benton Community College while he started his career in welding at Pacific Northern Industrial. For the last several years, he had worked as a general foreman for Greenberry Industrial.

He had previously been married to Jill Sparhawk-Luke before moving to Albany in 2003.

His hobbies included playing guitars, pool, riding motorcycles, and being a great friend and mentor to the people in his life.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia Kennelly of Lebanon; sisters Diane and husband Joseph Wilson of Toledo, Tamra and husband Shawn Boyes of Sweet Home, and Lisa and husband Shannon McKendree of Sweet Home; stepfather Douglas Kennelly of Scio; grandmothers Ellen Stauffer of Lebanon and Marybelle Kennelly of Sweet Home; and nephews Brandon McKendree and Jordan Boyes and niece Kaitlyn Boyes, all of Sweet Home.

Viewing will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Community Chapel in Sweet Home.

Contributions may be made in Eugene's name to the Sweet Home Mat Club at Sweet Home High School.

Ashley Johnston
Oct. 29, 1985 - Aug. 29, 2009

Ashley Johnston, 23, of Jefferson died Saturday at her home after a two-year battle with cancer.

She was born in Albany to Marc and Starla (Scofield) Johnston. She attended the Jefferson School District and graduated from high School in 2004. She received a degree from Linn-Benton Community College as a certified medical assistant in 2007.

Ashley worked during the summers for her grandfather on the family farm bailing hay. She also worked at the Salem Clinic.

All through high school and college she owned and drove a metallic blue 1967 Camero. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, cooking and camping. Her family owned a vacation home at Three Rivers on Lake Billy Chinook and she enjoyed many outings there.

She is survived by her parents, Marc and Starla Johnston; sister Kortney Johnston; grandparents Eugene and Betty Scofield of Albany, and Wayne and Catherine Johnston of Jefferson; her chocolate lab, Nakita; many aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Calvary Chapel in Corvallis, 2125 N.W. Lester Ave.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Calvary Chapel in Corvallis.

Marianne Branch
Aug. 5, 1953 - Dec. 1, 2011

Marianne Branch, 58, passed away Thursday.

She was preceded by the love of her life, Michael Branch; and three siblings, Tina Erickson, Patricia Will and Larry Meyer.

She is survived by her son, Anthony; daughter Stacy; grandchildren Devin, Chloe and Alexander; father Sylvester Pavlicek; and sister Lynda Jean Marion (Minnick).

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albany.

Jason Hoerauf

On Tuesday, September 4, 2001, Jason Alan Hoerauf, a police officer with the City of Albany, was struck by a motor vehicle on Interstate 5 in the northbound lane near milepost 243. Jason Hoerauf, while off-duty, was riding with the Oregon State Police at the time of the accident.
Jason Hoerauf was 29 years old and had been a police officer with the Albany Police Department since November 2000. He graduated from the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training in April of 2001, where he was selected as the Basic Recruit Class Team Leader. He achieved Police Officer Basic Certification through the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training in August 2001.
Prior to becoming a police officer with the Albany Police Department, he was a Reserve Police Officer for the Albany Police Department, Benton County Sheriff's Department, and Philomath Police Department. Jason grew up in Albany and graduated from Santiam Christian High School in 1990. He attended Concordia and Linn-Benton Community College. When he wasn't busy helping others, Jason enjoyed playing baseball, softball and golf. Jason was a member of the Albany First Assembly of God Church.
Jason is survived by his daughter Morgan Faith Diana Hoerauf, his parents Robert and Diana Hoerauf, his brother Scott and his nephews Jacob, Blake, Tyler and Hunter.
A trust is being set up for the benefit of Jason's daughter. Please contact the funeral home for the latest details.

Leland William Morton, Sr.

Leland William Morton, Sr. was born in the small community of Canary, Oregon, one of five children born to William Guy and Eva Belle (Carle) Morton.
He served the U.S. Navy with the Seabees during World War II.
Leland married Mary Ellen Flescher on June 27, 1948 at her family's homestead in Yachats, Oregon.
Over the years he had many jobs. He hauled railroad ties, worked at a Waldport Cheese Factory and drove a log truck. His last job was as a heavy equipment diesel mechanic. He officially retired in the mid 1980's, but he continued to work privately as a diesel mechanic until he suffered a heart attack in October 2001. He was a well-respected mechanic and he received several job requests after moving to a nursing facility.
Mr. Morton was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed fishing, clam digging, and growing his own blueberries. He loved the Oregon Coast and spent many hours watching the Pacific Ocean from his Yachat's home. He was an avid Ham Radio Operator and enjoyed contacting other radio operators. He is much loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
He was a long time resident of Yachats and had moved to Albany a year ago.
Leland is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen, of Yachats, his sons, Leland Morton, Jr. of Eugene and Lloyd Morton of Yachats, his daughters, LaRita & Dan Lundy of Siletz, Loraine & Terry Parker of Lebanon, and Lynda & Alberto Lopez of Jefferson, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, his brothers, Verle ''Whitey'' Morton of Gold Hill, and Lowell Morton of Albany, and his sister-in-law, Barbara Morton of Dallas. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Max Morton, and his sister, Zelda Morton.
Memorial services will be held at the Yachats Presbyterian Church in Yachats at 11:00am, Saturday, September 6. Private interment will be at the Yachats cemetery.

George B. Davis

George B. Davis was born October 5, 1912 in Greenville, South Carolina, the son of G. Boyd and Merzie E. (Ward) Davis. He graduated from high school in South Carolina and lived there until moving to California in 1944. He moved to Arizona in 1981 and to Oregon in 1984.
He had served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He had worked as a Memorial Counselor in California. He was a member of the Baptist Church and the Church of the Nazarene.
George married Florence B. Beardsley on March 14, 1954 at Hayward, California. She preceded him in death on July 5, 1989.
Mr. Davis is survived by his children, Elizabeth A. Davis of Greenville, South Carolina,
George B. Davis, Jr. of Reedsport, Oregon, and Leola F. Dove of Lebanon, Oregon, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, his parents, his brothers, Harold Davis, Virgil Davis and Rev. Proctor L. Davis and his sisters, Evelyn Davis, Vivian Davis and Mildred Parker.
At his request, no services will be held.

Gladys Elaine Graham

Gladys Elaine Graham was born August 21, 1921 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, the daughter of Lawrence and Cathrine (Wright) Trammel. She moved to Arizona at a young age and then moved to California before she started high school, near Venice.
Gladys married Ira Graham on December 4, 1937 in Bloomington, California. They lived in Bloomington until moving to Oregon in 1989 where they lived in Junction City. They moved to Albany in 1992.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She had worked as a school librarian, retiring in 1974 or 75. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She is remembered for her apple dumplings and as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Ira, of Albany, her daughter, Joanne Wheeler of Albany, her son, David Graham of Las Vegas, Nevada, 6 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, her brothers, Larry Trammel of Dallas, Texas, Pat Trammel of Midland, Texas, Bob Trammel of Camp Verde, Arizona and Jerry Trammel of Melbourne, Australia, and her sisters, Sue Wingfield of Casper, Wyoming and Gloria McKeever of Wickenburg, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, June Newberry.
Visitation will be at Fisher Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00pm, Wednesday. Graveside Services will be held at Willamette Memorial Park at 10:00am, Thursday, October 23. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, October 23. Contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene Memorial Fund, in lieu of flowers, c/o Fisher Funeral Home.
