William C. Schram
Nov. 9, 1917 — Oct. 26, 2004

William C. Schram, 86, of Albany died Tuesday morning at his home.

He was born in Yamhill, the son of Charles and Louise (Hanson) Schram.

William married Opal F. Melville on July 20, 1940, in Portland.

William lived his whole life in the Willamette Valley and lived in the same house in Albany since his marriage.

He worked as a millwright in various plywood mills.

When he was in his 50s, William went back to school and became an electrician.

He later worked for the city of Albany as an electrician until retiring in 1979.

William enjoyed hunting and fishing and in his later years he took up painting saws.

He is survived by his wife, Opal F. Schram of Albany; sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Dorothy Schram of Scio, and Bob and Carmen Schram of Crabtree; grandsons Robie Schram of Albany, Brandt Schram of Eugene and Mitchell Schram of Portland; granddaughter Amber Canada of Crabtree, and great-grandchildren Devon and Emily Schram of Albany.

William was preceded in death by brothers George, Bob and Eddie Schram, and sisters Dorothy, Tootie and Elaine.

Private family services will be held.

Memorial contributions can be made to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice in care of Huston-Jost Funeral Home.

Florence A. Weaver
June 9, 1910 — Nov. 26, 2004

Florence A. Weaver of Corvallis died Nov. 26 at her home.

She was 94.

She was born near Bismarck, N.D., to Charles L. and Susie Hollingsworth May.

Most of her childhood was spent in Alberta, Canada.

She moved to Oregon and attended Corvallis High School and later lived near Monroe.

She married Clarence Daniel Weaver in 1935.

They lived in Blodgett and Philomath before settling in Corvallis in 1958.

Besides being a homemaker, she worked for many years at Independent Laundry and at OSU Food Services.

She retired in 1975.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Clarence, in 1977, in addition to her parents, four brothers and one sister.

Survivors include her son, Marlyn D. Weaver of Corvallis; daughter, Janet Uhden of Redmond; sister, Eunice Davis of Corvallis; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Thursday.

Memorial contributions can be made to Senior Meals on Wheels in care of McHenry Funeral Home.

William Alexander Denaux
April, 23, 1930 — Dec. 4, 2004

William Alexander Denaux, 74, formerly of Lebanon, died Saturday due to complications of Alzheimer's.

He was born in Charleston, S.C.

He studied industrial arts at Southwestern College and San Diego State University.

He retired from the Navy after 27 years as a chief petty officer.

He taught metallurgy at a navel training center for four years, worked as a molder and caste machine parts for ships.

He enjoyed western and classical music.

He read western books.

He loved playing bingo and was sociable.

He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Lebanon, American Legion and Chula Vista Fleet Reserve.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie; daughter Carol Zetzsche of Port Orchard, Wash.; son Bill Denaux of Spring Valley, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Toni Denaux of Charlotte, S.C. and Candy Lemacks of Charleston, S.C.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Lebanon.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Evergreen Hospice and Alzheimer's Association.

Nicholas ‘Nick' Ray Thompson
Nov. 30, 1990 — Dec. 31, 2004

Nicholas Ray Thompson, 14, of Lebanon died Friday at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland from injuries sustained from a car accident on Thursday.

Nick was born in Salem and attended Auburn Elementary School.

He moved to Lebanon in 1998.

He attended Green Acres Elementary School and was in the eighth grade and on the honor roll at Seven Oak Middle School.

Nick had been active in sports, playing football, basketball and baseball through the Boys & Girls Club and in school programs.

He was an active member of St. Edward's Catholic Church.

He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and snow skiing.

Nick also liked listening to music, playing video games and working on the computer.

Nick was a hard worker, who loved his family, loved life and having fun with his friends.

He was liked and will be missed by many.

Nick is survived by his father and stepmother, Jeff and Becky Thompson; mother and her husband, Shawn and David Wiedeman; brothers Cameron and Samuel Thompson; sisters Kylee and Emily Wiedeman; grandparents Rose Marie Johnson; Dennis Thompson, Gerrie Smith, Ann Thompson, and Pat Graber; and numerous cousins.

His grandfather, Glenn Graber preceded him in death.

Viewing will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Huston-Jost Funeral Home.

Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Edward's Catholic Church.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Edward's Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at the Lebanon IOOF cemetery.

Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the St. Edward's Catholic Church Scholarship fund or to the Lebanon Boy & Girls Club Youth Partnership for sports sponsorships and sent in care of Huston-Jost Funeral Home, 86, W. Grant Street, Lebanon, OR 97355.

Donations to defray funeral expenses can be made to Washington Mutual Bank on Grant Street in Lebanon.

Delmer O. Falk
March 13, 1929 — May 25, 2009

Delmer O. Falk, 80, passed away May 25 at his home near Burns with loved ones at his side.

He was born to Louis R. Sr. and Anna Drone Falk at the family home near Halsey.

He attended grade school at a small country school near the family home.

After grade school he began work on the farm and at a lumber mill in the Brownsville area until he went into the U.S. Army in the late ’40s and early ’50s.

It was there that he got his high school education.

After he returned home from the Army he drove a log truck and also went to work for Fisher Implement Company in Halsey.

Finally he went to work for his brother in the Burns area for a couple of years, and then moved back to the Willamette Valley in the Junction City area to begin working in the logging industry.

He worked for Pete Austin and Walt Barrows before working for Chester Bradley.

From there, he and his wife moved to the Sisters area in 1969.

In 1971 he started working for Babler Brothers in construction out of the Redmond area.

He quit that job in 1983 and went to Alaska, where he spent nine years working on construction during the summer months.

He worked with heavy equipment building roads on the pipeline, at mining and airports as far north as Barrow, Alaska.

He retired in 1992 to his home in the Sisters area.

In 2007 he moved back to Harney County, near Burns.

His hobbies were putting together flyable airplane kits, building motorized toys for his great-granddaughter, Shannon, who he helped raise for 13 years, tinkering with building a wood splitter, his flatbed trailer, small farm equipment, camping, hunting, and fishing with his wife of over 50 years.

Delmer is survived by his wife, Audrey Hill Falk; granddaughter Shannon Quillin; stepson Harold Curtis; stepgrandchildren; sister Betty Alexander of St. David, Ariz.; sister-in-law Judy Falk of Halsey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Charlie D., Louis R. Jr. and Stanley M. Falk; and four sisters, Ava Thompson, Edna Porter, Luella Starnes and Ardella Reese.

At Delmer’s request there will be no service.

LaFollett’s Chapel handled arrangements.

Jack Richard Weiss
June 25, 1935 — June 7, 2009

Jack Richard Weiss, 73, of Cameron Park, Calif., passed away June 7.

Jack was born in Stillwater, Minn.

He lived in Albany throughout his childhood.

Jack married Marlee Ellen Bellows, who passed away Feb. 26, 2005.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Marlee Ellen Bellows; his parents; and sister Bonnie Weiss Bonner.

He is survived by two sons, Jay Weiss of Santa Clara, Calif., and Jeff Weiss and wife Sheila of Roseville, Calif.; daughter Leigh Ann Weiss of Citrus Heights, Calif.; and five granddaughters.

Memorial services were at Green Valley Mortuary in Rescue, Calif.

The family requests memorial contributions be sent to the American Heart Association.
