Tischer

Donald T. Tischer, 78, of Woodburn died Feb. 23.
Born April 22, 1922, in Midvale, Idaho, he lived in Bellingham, Wash., before moving to Oregon in 1985. He worked for Arco as a maintenance supervisor and trainer for 35 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Senior Estates Golf and Country Club.
His interests included basketball, baseball and golf.
He married Verlyle D. Weispfenning in 1981, in Bellingham.
Survivors include his wife; son, Michael Tischer of Prospect Park, Pa.; sisters, Ester Wood of Counsel, Idaho, Louise Preston of Boise, Idaho, and Stella Ulmer of Lebanon; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
At her request, no services will be held.
Arrangements were by Howell, Edwards, Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors.
Contributions may be made to Willamette Falls Hospice or a charity of choice.

Townsend

Luetta Lorraine Townsend, 71, of Independence, formerly of Woodburn, died Feb. 23 of heart failure.
Born March 31, 1929, in Sac County, Iowa, she moved to Woodburn and attended Woodburn High School. She then moved to Dallas and Independence. She worked as a waitress and a bartender at Hi Ho in Independence for many years. She was also a foster mother.
Her interests included flowers and baking.
She married Claude McMillan in 1946. She later married Jack Townsend Aug. 13, 1960, in Independence.
Survivors include her husband; sons, Clyde McMillan of Monmouth, Lauris McMillan, Kevin Crow and Steve Bonnet, all of Salem; daughter, Elizabeth Gillander of Independence; sister, Vivian Wolf of Woodburn; brother, Francis "Sonny" Benson of Albany; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held at Belle Passi cemetery, Woodburn.
Arrangements are by Farnstrom Mortuary.

Roetzel

Leonard J. Roetzel, 77, of Woodburn died Feb. 25.
Born March 1, 1923, in Russell, Ark., he moved to Woodburn in 1959. He worked as a supervisor at MacLaren School for Boys in Woodburn until retiring in 1985.
His interests included fishing, gardening and sports.
He married Dorothy Johnson Nov. 3, 1946.
Survivors include his wife; son, Larry Roetzel of Istanbul, Turkey; daughter, Vicky Howard of Albany; sisters, Wanda Davis of Bald Knob, Ark., and Lavon Roetzel of Springdale, Ark.; brother, Calvin Roetzel of St. Paul, Minn.; and three grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 27 in Willamette National cemetery, Portland.
Arrangements were by Cornwell Colonial Chapel, Woodburn.

Schaffer

Robert L. Schaffer, 67, of Brooks died March 22.
Born Dec. 24, 1933, in Ridgefield, Wash., he served in the U.S. Navy. He was a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Local 701 Operating Engineers, enjoyed racing jalopies at Jansen Beach and was the top 10 driver in the mid-1960s. He was also a Little League baseball coach.
His interests included camping, hunting, fishing and building dune buggies.
He married Jacqueline Wishon May 4, 1956.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Kimberly Dusschee of Silverton; stepson, Dan Deulen of Portland; stepdaugher, Vicki Fletcher of Ashland; sisters, Jennie Margheim and Kathy Parlet of Gresham and Audrey Davis of Ocean Park, Wash.; brothers, Paul Schaffer of Salem, Dean Schaffer of Aloha and Thomas Schaffer of Silverton; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
At his request, no services will be held. Interment was private.
Arrangements were by North Valley Funeral Alternatives, Wilsonville.

Gosso

Johnny Gosso, 74, of Gervais died March 23.
Born Dec. 29, 1926, in Dallas, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He lived in Molalla for 36 years before moving to Gervais. He was a retired logger, and owned J & L Logging. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He married Lucille Marshall in 1963; she died in 1995.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Gosso of Dillon, Mont.; and one grandchild.
At his request, no services will be held. Interment was private.
Arrangements were by Restlawn Funeral Home, Salem.
Contributions may be made to the American Spinal Cord Association.

Goldade

Amanda (Gilles) Goldade, 87, of Woodburn, died March 28 in Portland.
She was born May 17, 1913. She worked at Birdseye Foods and was a homemaker. She also worked as a sack sewer for Oregon Bag Company in Aurora.
She was a member of the Catholic church and a member of St. Agnes Altar Society. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening.
She married Eugene Goldade Nov. 15, 1928 in Woodburn. He preceded her in death in 1988.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Payne of Milwaukie, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral mass was held Sunday at St. Luke's Catholic Church. Vault interment will be at St. Luke's Catholic cemetery, Woodburn.
Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Pederson

Joanne M. Pederson, 56, of Woodburn, died March 25 in Woodburn.
She was born June 6, 1944 in Portland.
She worked in the retail clothing store, Jones of New York, as well as a caregiver.
She enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by her mother, Betty Pederson of Woodburn; brother, Errol Pederson of Salem; niece, Michelle Pederson of Salem.
Services will be private.

Mosley

Wade H. Mosley, 85, of Woodburn, died March 31 in Woodburn.
Born Jan. 18, 1916 in Hickory, Okla., he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He owned a barber shop in Hood River from 1948 until retiring in 1975, when he moved to Woodburn.
He was a member of the Woodburn Senior Estates Golf and Country Club. He enjoyed golf and had recorded six holes-in-one during his life. He also enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the VFW and sang in the Senior Estates men's chorus.
He married Dorothea Hagen Dec. 28, 1946 in Denver, Colo. She preceded him in death in May of 2000.
He is survived by his daughter, Lynne Basler of Indialantic, Fla.; son, Robert "Bob" Mosley of Newport Beach, Calif.; brother, James Mosley of Medford; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A son, Charles, preceded him in death.
Visitation was held Monday at Simon-Woodburn Funeral Chapel. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Hope Lutheran Church, Woodburn. Burial was held Tuesday with military honors at Willamette National cemetery, Portland.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or LVNA Health Dynamics Hospice, 416 E 6th Street, McMinnville, OR 97128.
Arrangements by Simon-Woodburn Funeral Chapel, Woodburn.

Heimeyer

Ezra "Ed" Heimeyer, 86, of Woodburn died Oct. 22.
Born April 23, 1915, in Walls, Mo., he worked as a salesman at Woodburn Floors before working at Carpet Warehouse for 15 years. He moved to Woodburn in 1938. He was a member of the Woodburn Eagles Lodge.
His interests included dancing.
He married Mattie Hamm Sept. 30, 1982, in Vancouver, Wash.
Survivors include his wife; stepsons, Tom Cox of Spokane, Wash. and Mike Ernst of Salem; stepdaughters, Gail Borczynski of El Paso, Texas and Diane Boone of Salem; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were held Oct. 25 in Cornwell Colonial Chapel, Woodburn. Interment was in Belle Passi Memorial Mausoleum, Woodburn.
Arrangements were by Cornwell Colonial Chapel.
Contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, Woodburn.

Hall

Aurora Belmonte Cooper Hall, 93, of Woodburn died Oct. 10.
Born Jan. 14, 1908, in New York City, N.Y., she graduated from the University of Nevada and later attended a Catholic University in Washington, D.C. She was owner and operator of a group care home. She co-administered Marion Manor Residential Care Facility. She lived in Reno before moving to Woodburn in 1973. She was a member of Woodburn Worship Center.
Her interests included painting, visiting the ocean and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She married Larry Hall Dec. 10, 1971; he died in 1998.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna Alger and Barbara Roszco, both of Woodburn, and Ronald Cooper of Valejo, Calif.; son, Ronald Cooper of Lockwood, Nev.; sister, Adeline Obester of Reno, Nev.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 26 in Woodburn Worship Center.
Arrangements were by Simon-Woodburn Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Willamette Valley Hospice or Woodburn Worship Center Building Fund.
