Maria Anita Hamlett
Maria Anita Hamlett, 96, of Medford, died Thursday (Oct. 10, 2002) at Medford Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Medford. No service is planned. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Memorial Park, San Jose, Calif.

Mrs. Hamlett was born on Aug. 21, 1906, in Neumunster, Germany, a daughter of Ernst and Anna Rumohr. On Feb. 22, 1939, in Long Beach, Calif., she married Merton K. Hamlett, who preceded her in death. They moved to the Rogue Valley 33 years ago from Santa Clara, Calif.

She worked as a secretary for Sears Roebuck in Seattle.

Mrs. Hamlett enjoyed square dancing and traveling.

Survivors include a nephew, Richard G. Lowe of Lake Arrowhead, Calif.

Clyde Leslie Baker
Clyde Leslie Baker, 82, of Grants Pass, died Friday (Oct. 4, 2002) at Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass.

Mr. Baker was born on June 30, 1920, in Logan, Okla. On Oct. 1, 1941, he married Dorothy Cole, who survives. They moved to Grants Pass in 1972 from Sacramento, Calif.

He served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve and retired in 1980.

Mr. Baker worked as a carpenter and truck driver.

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, working on cars and gardening.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Diane Adams of Sacramento and Karen Smith of Maui, Hawaii; a sister, Margarite Martin of Ojai, Calif.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Fred Edwin Last
Fred Edwin Last, 97, of Medford died Tuesday (Oct. 8, 2002) at his home. No service is planned. Inurnment will be in the Rose Garden at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford.

Mr. Last was born on March 13, 1905, in Germantown, Wis. On April 20, 1929, in Los Angeles, he married Elsie A. Antczak who preceded him in death. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1975 from Springfield.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Ashland.

Mr. Last worked in a creamery in Wisconsin and Los Angeles from 1923 to 1944. In 1961 he worked as a truck driver for Weyerhaeuser Company in Springfield. He retired in 1974.

He enjoyed taking walks.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna Walgren of Sun Lake, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Eleanor.

Robert ‘Bob’ Larry Henson
The memorial service for Robert "Bob" Larry Henson will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Medford Friends Church, 525 DeBarr Ave., Medford. Pastor John Braud of Rogue Valley Hospice will officiate.

Mr. Henson, 66, of Central Point, died Thursday (Oct. 10, 2002) at his home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 7420 S.W. Bridgeport Road, No. 200, Tualatin, OR 97224.

He was born on July 16, 1936, a son of Clifford and Florence Henson. He moved to the Rogue Valley in November 2000 from Long Beach, Calif.

Mr. Henson attended the Baptist Church.

He worked as an electrician and maintenance mechanic in manufacturing.

Survivors include three daughters, Ramona Cline of Springfield, Sue Colobia of Eugene and Cynthia of Utah; his mother, Florence Henson of Central Point; a sister Betty Bilyeu of Central Point; and five grandchildren.

Vera May Purcell
Vera May Purcell, 72, of Ashland died Sunday (Oct. 6, 2002) at Linda Vista Care Center, Ashland. No service is planned.

Mrs. Purcell was born on May 22, 1930, in Woodburn, a daughter of Kate and Fritz Helmig. She lived in Ashland for the past 10 years.

She enjoyed being a volunteer for various U.S. veterans organizations.

Survivors include a brother; Fred Helmig of Keizer.

Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home & Crematory, Ashland.

Paul Joseph Budreau
The memorial service for Paul Joseph Budreau will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Perl Funeral Home, Medford.

Mr. Budreau, 49, of Medford, died Sunday (Oct. 6, 2002) in Medford.

Memorial contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association, 380 S.E. Spokane St., Suite No. 110, Portland, OR 97202.

He was born Feb. 6. 1953, in Medford.

Mr. Budreau attended St. Mary’s School and was a graduate of Medford High School.

He worked at Timber Products for 25 years.

Mr. Budreau enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his longtime companion, Janet Mesloh, Medford; a son Philip, Portland; his mother, Shirley, Portland; a brother, David, Medford; and two sisters, Rosalyn Arbuckle, Eugene, and Michelle Wickershiem, Portland. He was preceded in death by his father, Russell, and a sister, Linda Semm.

William Harold Dickson
The graveside service for William Harold Dickson will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Jacksonville cemetery in Jacksonville.

Mr. Dickson, 89, of Medford died Saturday (Oct. 5, 2002) at Rogue Valley Medical Center, Medford.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 3181 Sam Jackson Park Road, No. 2200, Portland, OR 97201.

He was born July 21, 1913, in Holtville, Calif. On April 26, 1935, in Yuma, Ariz., he married Lois Virginia Swinson, who preceded him in death. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1978 from Big Lagoon, Calif.

Mr. Dickson worked for Louisiana Pacific as a heavy equipment operator in the logging industry from 1940 to 1978.

Survivors include a daughter, Merise Iaeger, Jacksonville; a son, William H. Jr., Veradale, Wash.; a sister, Helen Oilerman, Des Moines, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, John E.

Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Memory Gardens, Medford.

Bonne Rae Griffith
The memorial service for Bonne Rae Griffith will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Memory Gardens Chapel, Medford. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.

Ms. Griffith, 75, of Medford, died Wednesday (Oct. 2, 2002) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 449 S. Ivy St., Medford, OR 97501, or a favorite charity.

Ms. Griffith was born July 29, 1927, in Redding, Calif. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1984 from Reno, Nev.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Medford.

Ms. Griffith worked as a maid for the Senator Hotel in Reno, and a laundry clerk at the Medford Clinic.

Survivors include two brothers, her twin Bobbe L., Medford and Willis L., Bacliff, Texas; and a sister, Violet J. Bankston, of Chula Vista, Calif.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens, Medford.

Robert Edward Stout
Robert Edward Stout, 40, of Central Point, died Saturday (Oct. 5, 2002) at his home. No service is planned.

Mr. Stout was born April 21, 1961, in Hot Springs, Mont., a son of Richard and Alice J. (Osborne) Stout. He lived in the Rogue Valley for 10 years.

He worked in construction, building roads.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Richard and Dovie Stout, DeBeque, Colo.; a brother, James, Parachute, Colo.; and a sister, Dolores Williams, Modesto, Calif. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Clementine Ann Tanner
A celebration of the life of Clementine Ann Tanner will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Foursquare Church in the Fellowship Hall, 450 J. St., Grants Pass.

Ms. Tanner, 57, of Grants Pass, died Oct. 1, 2002, at her home from cardiovascular disease and complications of diabetes.

She was born Oct. 26, 1944, in Los Angeles.

Ms. Tanner was a graduate of Gardena High School and attended El Camino Junior College for two years.

She was a member of the Redwood Grange, the Hugo Women’s Club, two quilt Clubs in Medford and a crafting group in Grants Pass. She was a certified ceramics teacher.

Ms. Tanner worked for the Broadway Co., and Northrop Aircraft in Hawthorne Calif., as an office manager. She retired from Northrop in 1983 and moved to Grants Pass. In 1988 she received her degree in nursing from Rogue Community College. She worked at Royal Gardens as a charge nurse of the Critical Care Unit for 13 years. She retired on disability in 2001.

She enjoyed traveling, cruises, crafts and artistic endeavors.

Survivors include her companion, Vivian Van Allen, of Grants Pass; a sister, Ruthe Gunn, Grants Pass; and a brother, Robert Hartman, Virginia Beach, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clemens and Ruth Hartman of Grants Pass.

Arrangements: Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, Grants Pass.

Dolores June Blanchard
The graveside service for Dolores June Saling Blanchard will be at 11 a.m. today at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Blanchard, 69, of Medford, died Saturday (Oct. 5, 2002) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born June 23, 1933, in Waynesville, Mo., a daughter of Charles and Jennie (Baker) Saling. On Sept. 24, 1948, in Bandon she married Eldon Leroy Blanchard, who died in 1994. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1969 from Missouri.

Mrs. Blanchard was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Charlie, Rogue River; four daughters, Linda June James, Lebanon, Mo., Sissy Dismang, Salem, Tammy Hamrick, Springfield, Mo., and Diana Seyb, Lebanon Mo.; a brother, James Saling, of Central Point; 13 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Friends may pay their respects from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Hillcrest Mortuary.

Monte Alan Landon
The memorial service for Monte Alan Landon will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church, Central Point. The Rev. Jim Clifford of Shepherd of the Valley will officiate.

Mr. Landon, 38, of Medford, died Sunday (Sept. 29, 2002) in an airplane accident on Mount McLoughlin.

Memorial contributions may be made to Jackson County Search & Rescue, 620 Antelope Road, White City, OR 97503 or to Klamath County Search & Rescue, 3300 Vandenberg Road, Klamath Falls, OR 97603.

He was born Nov. 1, 1963, in Redmond, a son of Earl and Barbara Landon. On Nov. 13, 1988, in Portland he married Sandra D. LaHaie, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley nine years ago from Coos Bay and Portland.

Mr. Landon was self-employed in the construction business and was the owner of Landon Construction.

He enjoyed flying, golf, water sports, cooking and spending time with friends.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Derek D., Medford; his parents, Earl and Barbara Landon, Coos Bay; a brother, Marlon, Central Point; two sisters, Monica Somonson, Coos Bay, and Michele Burke, Florence. He was preceded in death by a brother, Mark.

Henry ‘Butch’ LaRance Jr.
The funeral for Henry "Butch" "Chief" LaRance Jr., will be at 11 a.m. at the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God.

Mr. LaRance, 47, of Medford died Monday (Oct. 7, 2002) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born March 7, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio, a son of Henry and Elizabeth LaRance. On Aug. 1, 1987 in Medford he married Nadine Rae Mitchell, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1972 from California.

Mr. LaRance served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.

He worked as an automobile detailer and insulation installer.

Mr. LaRance was a member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God.

He enjoyed fishing, computers, hunting and watching TV.

In addition to his wife, survivors include four sons, Shane and Keith, both in Florida, Andrew and Henry, both Medford; three daughters, Amy, Ashley, and Victoria LaRance, all Medford; his mother, Betty, in Minnesota; two sisters, Karen Holtz, in Washington state, and Penny Roehler, Iowa; six brothers, Richard, Medford, Jim, Eagle Point, John Missouri, Henry Vader, Washington D.C., Eddy Holtz, New York, and Wayne Holtz, California; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Swede Vader and Bobbie Holtz.

Friends may pay their respects at the church at the time of the service.
