Albert Sharkey
The memorial service for Albert Sharkey will be held at a later date.
Mr. Sharkey, 100, of Medford, died on Monday (July 29, 2002) at Royal Oak Retirement Center.
He was born on Sept. 8, 1901, in Riga, Latvia, son of Antonus and Julia Sharkey. In June, 1929, in Chicago, he married
Josephine, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Sharkey lived in the Rogue Valley for 10 years. His family moved to the United States when he was an infant, living first in Ansonia, Conn., and then Chicago.
He went to night school and learned shorthand, which enabled him to work as a secretary. He also sold sewing machines and worked at Montgomery Ward, where he met his wife.
The Sharkeys started their own business, Service Beauty Supply Co., selling products to beauty shops from their apartment. The business grew and was very successful for 49 years.
He took up bowling in his late 30s and became a professional. In 1952, he won the American Bowling Classic national singles competition.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Wolfe, Ashland; a sister, Laura MacAllister, Van Nuys, Calif.; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Richard; and a grandson, Gregory Wolfe.

Douglas Lowell Zellers
The memorial service for Douglas Lowell Zellers will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home in Grants Pass. Pastor Wes Winn, of the First Christian Church in Grants Pass, will officiate.
Interment will be at Knollwood cemetery in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.
Mr. Zellers, 71, of Grants Pass, died Monday (July 29, 2002) at Highland House Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society for research, in care of Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, 2065 Upper River Road, Grants Pass, OR 97526.
He was born June 28, 1931, in Cleveland, Ohio.
He moved to Grants Pass in 1986 from Palos Verdes, Calif.
He graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a bachelor of science degree in business and economics. In 1963, he went to work for Hughes Aircraft Corp. in Culver City, Calif., where he was the manager for employee relations until his retirement.
Mr. Zellers served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1955.
Survivors include a brother, Gerald, Cincinnati; and a sister, Linda Hamlyn, Grants Pass.

Milton Leroy Kealiher
The memorial service for Milton Leroy Kealiher will be at 2 p.m., Saturday at Provolt Community Church in Williams.
Mr. Kealiher, 75, of Williams, died Thursday (July 25, 2002) at Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass.
He was born Dec. 24, 1926, in Anaheim, Calif., a son of Floyd and Ella Kealiher. On Nov. 15, 1959, in Las Vegas, he married
Ruth Mary Ingles, who survives.
The couple moved to the Rogue Valley in 1997 from Arizona. They owned and operated the Provolt Store in Williams.
Mr. Kealiher served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He enjoyed fishing and playing cribbage.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include five sons, Randy, Williams, Robert, Costa Mesa, Calif., Tommy, Ivans, Utah, Lloyd Carr, Medford, and Jim Carr, Williams; 11 grandchil-dren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Bill.

Bonnie May Wells
The memorial service for Bonnie May Wells will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Conger-Morris Chapel in Medford.
Mrs. Wells, 48, of Eagle Point, died Sunday (July 28, 2002).
She was born on June 23, 1954, in Phoenix, N.Y., a daughter of Donald and Katherine Trudell. On Feb. 16, 1991, in Shaniko, she married
Mark Wells, who survives.
Mrs. Wells moved to Oregon 22 years ago from upstate New York, and to Eagle Point one year ago.
She worked in hardware retail sales and enjoyed horseback riding, flower gardening, quilting and collecting antiques.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include four brothers, Henry, Vernon, and George, all of upstate New York, and Danny, Alabama; six sisters, Florence, Mary, Linda, Karen, Debbie and Tina, all of upstate New York; and her mother, Katherine Trudell, of upstate New York. She was preceded in death by her father.

William ‘Bill’ MacGregor
The memorial service for William Scott "Bill" MacGregor will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Applegate Community Church.
Mr. MacGregor, 81, of Jacksonville, died Thursday (July 25, 2002) at his home.

He was born Feb. 5, 1921 in Oakland, Calif. On Oct. 11, 1942, in Los Angeles, he married
Betty Schloesser, who survives.
Mr. MacGregor was a general contractor and worked in Southern California for 24 years. He and his wife moved to the Applegate Valley in 1969, where he built and owned the Applegate Mobile Home Park on Thompson Creek Road.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. MacGregor was a member of Applegate Community Church and, most recently, the First Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville.
He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, playing cards, and lending a helping hand to those in need.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Jacqui Coburn, Medford; a son, John, Central Point; six grandchil-dren and six great-grandchildren.

Charles ‘Charlie’ McCabe
The memorial service for Charles "Charlie" Benjamin McCabe will be at 2 p.m. Friday, at the Butte Falls Assembly of God Church. Pastor Steve Harvey will officiate. Interment will be at Butte Falls cemetery.
Mr. McCabe, 84, of Butte Falls, died Sunday (July 28, 2002) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 13, 1917, in Caldwell, Idaho, a son of Charles and Melvina (Preston) McCabe, a Rogue River farming pioneer family.
Mr. McCabe lived in the Rogue Valley all of his life. He and his brother, Floyd, cut wood and logged together, and he worked for years for Medco.
He wrote songs and poetry, and published "Songs in the Night" under the name "Rapid Pen of Charles McCabe." He graduated from Eugene Bible College and enjoyed flowers and gardening.
Mr. McCabe served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942-1944. He attended the Butte Falls Assembly of God church.
Survivors include a sister, Hazel Durbin, Beattyville, Ky. He was preceded in death by his brother Floyd, a sister Grace, and a baby brother.

Georgie K. Ralph
The graveside service for Georgie K. Ralph will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, at I.O.O.F. cemetery, in Central Point. Inurnment will be handled by Klamath Cremation Service.
Mrs. Ralph, 68, of Bonanza, died Tuesday (July 30, 2002).
She was born March 24, 1934, in Gold Hill, daughter of Fred H. Baker and Opal A. Hayes. In 1959, she married
Jack Dunlap, who preceded her in death. In 1994, she married
Harry Ralph, who also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Ralph attended Education High School in Gold Hill and Southern Oregon College, and was a homemaker to her six children.
She taught school in Montana, and then returned to Medford to work as a packing boss at Pinnacle Orchards. She moved to Klamath Falls and was a caregiver in 1995. She did in-home care until recently.
Mrs. Ralph was a member of Christian Scientist Church, and was a sponsor for Alcoholics Anonymous for 18 years.
She also enjoyed the wilderness.
Survivors include a son, Carl Dunlap, Bonanza; four daughters, Catherine Hein and Corrine Marshal, both Sams Valley, Carolyn Cordero, Eagle Point, and Marylin Driver, Bonanza; two brothers, Pastor Ed Baker, Hermiston, and Fred Baker, Portland; 16 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.

Catherine Ann Johnson
A gathering of friends and family in memory of Catherine Ann Johnson will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at the Medford home of Mrs. Johnson, 1801 Poplar Drive, in the clubhouse.
Mrs. Johnson, 86, died Tuesday (July 30, 2002) at her home.
She was born Nov. 2, 1915, in Chicago. She lived in the valley since 1997, after moving from Chicago.
Mrs. Johnson enjoyed visiting the Lions Center and Medford Senior Center, and she enjoyed Medford.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, Donald J. Dougherty, of Medford.

Raymundo P. Bracamonte
The memorial service for Raymundo P. Bracamonte will be held in Arizona. Interment will be in the National cemetery of Arizona.
Mr. Bracamonte, 65, of Medford, died Monday (July 29, 2002) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born on Sept. 9, 1936, in Phoenix, Ariz. He lived in the Rogue Valley on and off for 10 years, moving here from Arizona.
He was a seasonal worker at Bear Creek Corp., and enjoyed gardening and traveling to see his children.
Mr. Bracamonte served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a paratrooper.
Survivors include four sons, Johnny Cassidy, Medford, Ray, Las Vegas, Jerry, Claremont, Calif., Jaime, Tempe, Ariz.; two daughters, April Bracamonte, Gilbert, Ariz., and Roxanne Bracamonte, Mesa, Ariz.; one brother, Roy Nunez, Phoenix, Ariz.; four sisters, Jenny Bracamonte, Esther Cruz, Elsie Orta and Rosie Hightower, all of Phoenix, Ariz.; 15 grandchil-dren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Chris.

Marian Winnifred Gregg
The memorial service for Marian Winnifred Gregg will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Memory Gardens Mortuary in Medford. Rev. Gary Saunders of Rogue River Baptist Church and Pastor Douglas McMann, of Bible Baptist Church in Gold Hill, will officiate.
A graveside service will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mrs. Gregg, 90, formerly of Gold Hill, died Sunday (July 28, 2002) at her residence.

She was born Marian Winnifred Anderson on March 8, 1912, in Warwick, N.D. On Jan. 22, 1941, in Panama City, Panama, she married
Jesse F. Gregg Jr., who preceded her in death.
She lived in the Rogue Valley from 1961 to 1991, moving here from Hollywood, Calif.
Mrs. Gregg was a registered nurse for 20 years in Portland and Panama City. She moved to Hollywood with her husband, and owned and operated Old Fashioned Foster Freeze Store for 25 years.
When she moved to Gold Hill, she was an active member of the Bible Baptist Church, Roxy Ann Gem and Mineral Society, and the Foots Creek Birthday Club. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara J. Burner, Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Marjorie J. Wells, Newbury Park, Calif.; two brothers, Edwin Anderson, Pittsboro, N.C., and Lee Anderson, Warwick, N.D.; and two sisters, Nellie Lingenfelder, Gold Hill, and Marjorie Lingenfelder, Windsor, Calif.

Floyd ‘Mac’ Oval McClanahan
The memorial service for Floyd "Mac" Oval McClanahan will be at 1 p.m. today at Butte Falls Community Bible Church in Butte Falls. Pastor John Adams will officiate. Private inurnment will be in Butte Falls cemetery.
Mr. McClanahan, 77, of Butte Falls, died Saturday (June 29, 2002) at Three Fountains Nursing Center.

He was born Nov. 8, 1924, in Medford, to Oval and Yada McClanahan. On April 26, 1957, in Gold Hill, he married
Lila Mae Ellis, who survives.
Mr. McClanahan was a heavy equipment operator at Bear Creek Valley Sanitary Authority and for various Medford construction companies. He retired in 1979. He lived in the Rogue Valley all his life.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. McClanahan was a member of the Hoisting and Portable Engineers Union 701 and the Butte Falls Lions Club.
He attended Butte Falls Community Bible Church.
Mr. McClanahan enjoyed hunting, fishing and stock car racing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Debbie Brink, White City; two sons, David, Butte Falls, and Kevin, Salem; two brothers, Richard, Phoenix, and Stanley "Dale, " Medford; three sisters, Kay Mulhollen, Medford, Sandra Workman, Phoenix, and Ann Haggard, Gresham; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy; a brother, Lloyd; and two sisters, Nadine and Nelda.
