Cora Amy Anderson
The funeral for Cora Amy Anderson will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Conger-Morris Chapel in Medford. The Rev. John Bigham will officiate. Interment will follow in Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.

Mrs. Anderson, 81, of Eagle Point, died Wednesday (Feb. 5, 2003) at her home.

She was born May 30, 1921, in Medford, to J.W. Bill and Myra (Askew) Bigham. She attended the one-room Antelope School and later graduated from Medford High School. On Oct. 13, 1942, in Medford, she married Donald Henry Anderson, who died in 1984.

The Andersons operated a ranch and dairy farm in the Eagle Point area. During the haying season, Mrs. Anderson was famous for cooking outstanding noon meals for the family and crew. She also worked for Stan’s Market in Eagle Point for many years. After her retirement, she worked at the Eagle Point Senior Center.

Mrs. Anderson was a 4-H member and 4-H sewing leader. She was also a member of the Oregon Cattlewomen’s Association, the Antelope Ladies Social Club and the Beta Nu Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha.

She enjoyed cooking and flower gardening and was known for the apple pies which were a big hit at the Cattlemen’s Association annual picnics.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald and Richard, both Eagle Point; a daughter, Paulette Engstrand, Eagle Point; a sister, Clara Mae Schleigh, Medford; six granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may pay their respects from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Conger-Morris Chapel in Medford.

William Lee Dolmage
The funeral for William Lee Dolmage will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hull & Hull Chapel in Grants Pass. Tom Hinkle and Bonnie Sikes will officiate. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Dolmage, 62, of Merlin, died Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003) in Grants Pass.

Memorial contributions may be made to Moose Lodge No. 2454, 330 Merlin Ave., Merlin, OR 97532.

He was born July 20, 1940, in Grants Pass, to Collis and Celeste Dolmage. He played football for Grants Pass High School and graduated in 1959. On June 2, 1961, in Grants Pass, he married Geriann Virginia Sukow, who died in 1982.

Mr. Dolmage worked for the railroad before becoming self-employed in steel construction. He traveled to many states through his work and was proficient in the family trades of tile setting, house building and woodworking.

He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 2454 in Merlin.

Mr. Dolmage enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and his animals.

Survivors include two sons, Rick, Medford, and Gary, Grants Pass; two sisters, Sandy Denning, Klamath Falls, and Marie English, Hermiston; and four grandchildren.

Friends may pay their respect from noon to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors, Grants Pass.

Geneva Meyer
The graveside service for Geneva Meyer will be at 11 a.m. today at Eagle Point National cemetery.
Mrs. Meyer, 82, of Grants Pass died Sunday (Feb. 16, 2003) at Royale Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center in Grants Pass.

She was born March 28, 1920, in Antlers, Okla., to Ed and Zula Nabors. On June 12, 1937, in Oklahoma City, she married Elwin Jackson, and they moved to San Diego. In 1951, they moved to Southern Oregon and lived in Evans Valley, Rogue River and Grants Pass. Mr. Jackson died in 1965. In 1969, in Reno, Nev., she married Rollo Meyer, who survives.

Mrs. Meyer was a housekeeper for the Grants Pass Clinic for many years.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son Edward Jackson, Coos Bay; a daughter, Barbara Chadwick, Central Point; two stepsons Ken Meyer, Gresham, and George Meyer, Medford; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great- granddaughter.

Elsie Faye Arnold
The funeral for Elsie Faye Arnold will be at 1 p.m. today at Hillcrest Chapel in Medford. Pastor Jim Berglund of Valley View Seventh-day Adventist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Crestview Garden, Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford.

Mrs. Arnold, 87, of Medford, died Friday (Feb. 14, 2003) in Medford.

She was born Sept. 3, 1915, in Fullerton, Neb., to Herbert and Sadie Miller. In 1936, in Palmer, Neb., she married Reuben J. Arnold, who died in 1978. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1938 from Nebraska.

Mrs. Arnold was a homemaker. She made more than 3, 000 quilts for the ACCESS Food Share program and more than 800 lap robes for Waterford at Three Fountains Nursing Home. She had also worked as a receptionist for Pyramid Insurance Co. in Medford.

Mrs. Arnold was a member of Valley View Seventh-day Adventist Church in Medford.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruby Cunningham, Medford; two sisters, Leola Burkhardt, Palmer, Neb., and Mary Parsons, Newman Grove, Neb.; a brother, Delbert Miller, Central City, Neb.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, Medford.

Alex Russell Smith
The graveside service for Alex Russell Smith will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Eagle Point National cemetery. Pastor Ron McKay of Ruch Community Bible Church will officiate.

Mr. Smith, 75, of Jacksonville, died Saturday (Feb. 15, 2003) at Rogue Valley Medical Center, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 31 W. Sixth St., Medford, OR 97501.

He was born Jan. 20, 1928, in St. Louis, to Alex B. and Freida (Blase) Smith. In 1950, he married Rita Boudreau. They later divorced. In 1969, at the San Diego Navy Chapel, he married Lydia Grace Williams, who survives. They left San Diego in 1990 and built a home on Jacksonville Hill.

Mr. Smith joined the U.S. Navy at age 17 and spent 30 years as a chief boilermaker, retiring at the San Diego Naval Station in 1975. His was the first "Sundown Retirement Ceremony" — when the flag was brought down, it was the end of the day and the end of his Naval career. He was saluted by all the ships in port.

He retired a second time after 12 years as a boilermaker inspector in civil service.

Mr. Smith was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, serving as secretary for two years.

He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Mark Williams, San Diego; five daughters, Donna Clough and Lynn O’Leary, both Malden, Mass., Karen Mallardo, Dracut, Mass., Debra Hussey, Hudson, N.H., and Janice Crowley, San Diego; a sister, Alberta Coleman, St. Louis; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends may pay their respects from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Joyclin Marie Rusho
The funeral for Joyclin Marie Rusho will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Chapel, Medford.

Mrs. Rusho, 80, of Medford, died Sunday (Feb. 16, 2003) at Hearthstone.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Southern Oregon Chapter, 6915 S.W. Macadam, Suite 130, Portland, OR 97219.

She was born May 17, 1922, in Ashland, to Charles and Anna (Louis) Hall. In 1938, she married Albert Wall, who died in 1940. In 1947, she married Charles Lynn Rusho, who died in 1962.

Mrs. Rusho was a millworker in sawmills. She was a lifelong Rogue Valley resident.

She enjoyed going on rides and gambling.

Survivors include two sons, Leroy, Medford, and Larry, Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Jean Rushing, Phoenix, Beverly Henson, Talent, and Lois F. Corliss, Medford; a brother, Clarence Hall, Medford; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister.

N. Dale Morgan
The memorial service for N. Dale Morgan will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Eagle Point National cemetery. Pastor Cliff Custer will officiate. Inurnment will be in Eagle Point National cemetery.

Mr. Morgan, 66, of Phoenix, died Saturday (Feb. 15, 2003) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 9, 1936, in Ragland, St. Claire, Ala., to Thomas and Margaret Morgan. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Fresno State University in 1966. He also attended Humphreys Law School in Fresno, Calif., and the Police Academy at Fresno City College. In 1976, in Fresno, Calif., he married Judy M. Ellison, who survives. They moved to Grants Pass in 1989, from Fresno, Calif., and recently moved to Phoenix.

Mr. Morgan was a retired Fresno County deputy sheriff and criminologist, retiring in 1982.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1959 during the Lebanon Crisis.

Mr. Morgan was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, Grants Pass Genealogy Society, the Masons, Southern Oregon Paf Users Group (a genealogy computer organization), and the Unity Fellowship of Grants Pass. He was a registrar for Oregon State Sons of the American Revolution (ORSSAR) and a volunteer librarian at the Family History Library in Grants Pass. He was also a member of the Rogue Valley Genealogical Society.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening and travel.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Jennifer Morgan, Phoenix, and Heidi Stevens, Eugene; and a brother, Jerry, Northglenn, Colo.

Jeff Madsen Linde
The memorial service for Jeff Madsen Linde will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Eagle Point National cemetery Interment Shelter. The Rev. Ray Barnwell will officiate. Inurnment will be at Eagle Point National cemetery.

Mr. Linde, 47, of Medford, died Saturday (Feb. 15, 2003) at his home.

He was born Dec. 29, 1955, in Port Angeles, Wash., to George and Marian Linde. In Sacramento, Calif., he attended Jesuit High School and graduated from Rio Americano High School in 1974. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1992 from Sacramento, Calif.

Locally, Mr. Linde worked as a welder and fabricator for several contractors.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a hull technician and firefighter on the USS Mauna Kia during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Linde enjoyed blues music, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, golf and working with metal sculptures.

Survivors include his mother, Marian S. Linde, Medford; and a brother, Scott Daniel, Vancouver, Wash. He was preceded in death by his father, George William Linde.

Wanda Elinora Wade
The funeral for Wanda Elinora Wade will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Gable Funeral Chapel, 225 N.E. 80th Ave., Portland.

Mrs. Wade, 74, of Oregon City, formerly of Medford, died Sunday (Feb. 16, 2003) in Oregon City.

She was born July 16, 1928, in Big Piney, Mo., to Joseph and Maggie Graves. She attended high school in Waynesville, Mo. On Aug. 1, 1944, in Waynesville, Mo., she married James Everett Wade, who survives. They lived in Medford from 1968 to 1974.

Mrs. Wade was a manager at J.J. Newberry’s from 1960 to 1974.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Ronald E. and DeWayne E., both Lincoln City; three daughters, Joyce K. Edgar, Wilsonville, Ruth E. Wade, Anchorage, Alaska, and Ora E. McDaniel, Spokane, Wash.; a sister, Sylvia Taylor, Hermitage, Md.; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Jo Wade.

Donald Bennett Whalin
The memorial service for Donald Bennett Whalin will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Medford. The Revs. Rebecca Hazen and Don Hildebrand will officiate.

Mr. Whalin, 85, of Medford, died Feb. 12, 2003, at Rogue Valley Manor Healthcare Center, Medford.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation, Hospice, 2600 Siskiyou Blvd., Suite 100, Medford, OR 97504 or the American Cancer Society, 31 W. Sixth St., Medford, OR 97501.

He was born Nov. 8, 1917, in Concord, N.H., to John Chester and Bertha Maude (Bennett) Whalin. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy, then attended and graduated from Amherst College in 1939. He had lived in the Rogue Valley since 1943. His first wife, Lois Herman, preceded him in death. On Nov. 29, 1980, in Medford, he married Barbara McWain, who survives.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was based at Camp White for a time prior to being shipped overseas.

Prior to his military service, Mr. Whalin worked for Aetna Insurance Co. After his military service, he returned to the Rogue Valley in 1945 and worked as a timber manager for Timber Products. He later became a real estate broker and was a founder of Realestators, Inc. He was named Realtor of the Year in 1972.

Mr. Whalin was a member of the Board of Realtors, where he served as president. He was a founding member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four daughters: Barbara Whalin Olsen, Portland, Charlotte Whalin Marsh, Salem, Judy McWain Armstrong, Alturas, Calif., and Marlee McWain Dutli, Prineville; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Alma Edna Anhorn
The funeral for Alma Edna Anhorn will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Conger-Morris Chapel in Medford. Pastor Tim Olson of Bethel Assembly of God in Medford will officiate. Private interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Medford.

Mrs. Anhorn, 93, of Central Point, died Monday (Feb. 17, 2003) at her home at Alderwood Assisted Living Facility in Central Point.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Crater Foundation-Anhorn Fund, c/o Crater High School, 4410 Rogue Valley Highway, Central Point, OR 97502.

She was born April 6, 1909, in Carlock, S.D., to John and Louisa (Horst) Trautman. On June 4, 1928, in Lake Andes, S.D., she married John Anhorn, who died in 1994. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1936.

Mrs. Anhorn worked at Fabers Meat Market.

She was a member of 4-H and the Home Extension Club.

Mrs. Anhorn enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include two sons, John, Medford, and Myrle, Beaverton; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Melvin; six brothers; and four sisters.

Friends may pay their respects from 1 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Conger-Morris Funeral Home in Medford.
