Bruno Reicherb
Bruno Reicherb, 96, died Sunday (Sept. 21, 2003).
He was born in Dresden Germany and came to the USA in 1927. He landed in Chicago, worked for Douglas. He received recognition for inventing an instrument during the war.
He build and lived in Hemet and Elsinore and San Juan Capistrano and the past 6 years in Medford.
He leaves his daughter and 3 grandchildren and many great and great-great-granchildren.
His favorite pastime was dancing.
He was a man with big heart.
Cynthia Gail Cochran
Cynthia Gail Cochran, 47, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, (Sept. 23, 2003) at her home.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at Hull & Hull Chapel. Pastor Don Blackburn will officiate.
She was born on May 24, 1956 in Klamath Falls, OR. She lived in Klamath Falls for 42 years.
She was a teacher's aid for Shasta Elementary School, in Klamath Falls, for 4 years. She also worked for Hallmark for 6 years and Broderick for 1 year. While living in Klamath Falls, she was also involved in the tour of homes at Christmas time. She moved to Grants Pass five years ago where she worked as a teacher's aide for Mazanita School for three years.
She was an active member of the Empress and Dynasty Pearls. She was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Grants Pass 4th Ward, and was baptized by her son Jamie Cochran on Aug. 30, 2003.
Cynthia enjoyed crafts, especially scrapbooking.
Survivors include two sons, Damon Cochran of Grants Pass, and Jamie Cochran of Lehi, Utah; two brothers, Ronald Baker of Phoenix, AZ, and Dale Baker of Eugene, OR; a sister, Jennifer Dutton of Vancouver, WA; her mother, Beverly Baker of Klamath Falls; two granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews. Her father, James Baker, preceded her in death in 1988.
Elna May Russell
Elna May Russell, 86, of Ashland, died Monday (Sept. 22, 2003) at Linda Vista Care Center. A private family service will be held.
Mrs. Russell was born on Feb. 18, 1917, at Ashland, to Frank Fitch and Affie May Plaisted (Fitch). She married
her first husband Ernest on July 28, 1934, He preceded her in death in 1980. On Nov. 11, 1984, in Ashland, she married
Ed Russell. He preceded her in death.
She was a active member of Rebekka Lodge in Ashland, an advisor for Theta Rho, and a campfire leader.
Mrs. Russell was owner and operator of restaurants.
She enjoyed the outdoors and astrology.
Survivors include: her children, Mary Gale Cook of Medford, Vieva Gene Swearingen of Cottonwood, CA, Pat Rabjohn of Phoenix, OR, and James Gibson of Ashland, 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 2 husbands, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Kathleene 'Kay' J. Miller
Graveside services for Kathleene "Kay" J. Miller will be at 1 PM Saturday, September 27, 2003 at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Kathleene died September 20, 2003 at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
She was born to Charles and Katie Fox on January 21, 1920 in Butler, OK. Kathleene moved to the Van Nuys, CA in 1925 where she met and married
Herbert R. Miller in June of 1940. In June of 1952 the family moved to Medford where she and her husband started the Miller Egg Ranch. Herb preceded Kathleene in July of 1975 at which time she and their oldest son, Ron Miller, continued to run the egg ranch until 1986. Kathleene then worked with her younger son, John Miller, until she retired in 1989. Kathleene enjoyed bowling, flower gardening, bingo, and helping others. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was deeply loved.
She is survived by her brother, Jack Fox, of San Diego, CA; sister, Louise Jones, of Simi Valley, CA; sons Ron & John Miller of Medford; daughter, Donna Miller-McLain of Redding, CA; six grandchildren; and nine great-grand children.

Marc S. Chaput
Marc S. Chaput, age 57, surrounded by family and friends, died at home of leukemia, Sept. 16, 2003 in Southern Oregon.
A gifted musician, magician, scholar, firefighter and friend.
He attended San Mateo High School, the University of Oregon for his B.S. and M.S. degrees and the University of Washington for his Ph.D.. work, where he was dedicated to the teaching of disabled children.
He ran a family business, (E. Chaput, Inc.) established by his grandfather in 1906. He was a long time member of the Olympic Club.
He could and did build anything and everything. But next to his family and friends, his great love was as a volunteer firefighter for Applegate Fire District. Most recently, he also shared duties as an employee of the Medford Police Dept.
He had great wit, a great sense of integrity, he was great fun, and simply a great guy. It is a great loss! He is loved, respected by all, his wife, Carey; his sons, Chris and Paul; and daughter Nicole; mother Lucille of Menlo Park; bother Gene and his family of Portola Valley, and all who knew him. Private services are being planned.

Michael Loudon Ford
Michael Loudon Ford, 50, of Grants Pass, died Friday, (Sept. 19, 2003) at his home.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, at 4th and D Streets, with The Rev. James T. Boston officiating. A public reception will follow at the Pepsi Pavilion at the fairgrounds. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

He was born on May 29, 1953 in Grants Pass, to James and Shirley Ford. He grew up there and graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1971. He married
Patti Ainsworth and they had one daughter, Jennifer Naomi in 1971. They later divorced.
He worked for Ford Brothers Logging Company, his father's company, during summers when he was in school. When his father changed businesses he worked with Erosion Control. He moved to Ashland for two years then returned to Grants Pass. He married
Pamela Frost in 1975. In 1980 their first son, Christopher Michael was born. In 1981, he and his family moved to Petersburg, Alaska where their second son Matthew Loudon was born in 1982. He worked in Petersburg and Wrangle, Alaska, doing logging. He also worked for the state of Alaska doing road and airport construction. He and his family moved back to Grants Pass in 1987, where he started his own trucking company, "Mike Ford Logging and Trucking." He ran the business for several years until his divorce in 1996. After his divorce he bought a log home and had many projects on his property, including cement retaining walls, walkways, etc. He loved all phases of landscaping and cement work. He sold his equipment and for a brief time drove for the U.S. Postal Service. He was currently working for Ben Wamp Trucking Company.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed remodeling his homes. He always enjoyed having many projects. He loved his Harley and taking many road trips. He was a very hardworking and friendly person and enjoyed being with his friends and family.
Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Titus of Medford; his two sons, Christopher Ford and Matthew Ford both of Grants Pass; his parents, James and Shirley Ford of Grants Pass; two brothers, James P. Ford of Anchorage, Alaska, and Dennis William Ford of Wilsonville, and three grandsons, D.J., Curtis, and Jacob.
Wyoma Jean H. Vitale
Wyoma Jean Haynes Vitale, 74, died Sunday, (Sept. 21, 2003). A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2003 at 10:00 am, at Rock Point cemetery in Gold Hill.

Justine E. Bartosh
A memorial service for Justine E. Bartosh, who died on Sun., (Sept. 21, 2003), will be held on Sat., Sept. 27, 2003, at 1 p.m., at Larson Creek Retirement Center, 1025 Ellendale in Medford.

Clarence Sinclair
Clarence Sinclair, 82, died Sat.(Sept 20, 2003) and went to his heavenly home.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thurs., Sept. 25, at the Assembly of God Church in Shady Cove. Rev. Jim Sinclair, will officiate.
Clarence was born on Sept. 3, 1921, in Ontario, Canada.
He served in the Army during WW II. He was married
to Ruth for 44 years. She preceded him in death.
He worked as a fork lift driver for Medco, until his retirement.
In Central Point, he married
, Aurora, his wife of 17 years.
Survivors also include; a daughter, Delena Miller; a son, Jim Sinclair, both of Plains, MT. Clarence was blessed with seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; and 3 sisters. He was preceded in death by a son Larry, a daughter, Carolyn, and 2 brothers, Ray and Boyd Sinclair.
Mildred Overmyer
Mildred Overmyer, 86, of Central Point, died Sunday (Sept. 21, 2003) at Providence Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003 at Gospel Tabernacle, 2460 Roberts Road, Medford. Rev. John Mack will officiate.

Mrs. Overmyer was born on June 27, 1917 in Hornbeck, LA, a daughter of Edgar Self and Elsie Green. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1996 to be close to her beloved family. Prior to her move, Mildred devoted 20 years of her life to sick children, at Standford University, in the children's cancer center.
Survivors include; 2 daughters, Rita Sollie of Medford, and Barbara Parsley of White City; a son, Don Smith of Orange County, CA; 2 brothers, Pete and Jack Self both of Texas; 1 sister, Eva Davis of Hornbrook, LA; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Victor C. Overmyer.

Wyoma L. Haynes Vitale
Oct. 7, 1928 - Sept. 21, 2003 Wyoma L. Haynes Vitale died Sunday (Sept. 21, 2003) at Hearthstone in Medford. She was 74.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, at Rock Point cemetery in Gold Hill. Pastor Tommy Carr will officiate. Interment will follow there.
Mrs. Vitale was born on Oct. 7, 1928 in Herrick, S.D. to Christian and Meta (Buntjer) Bieler. She married
Emsley Haynes in Grants Pass OR, on Jan. 14, 1945. He preceded her in death in 1974. She later married
Joseph Vitale in Brookings, OR on June 9, 1983. He also preceded her in death. Mrs. Vitale was a devoted wife to both of her husbands. She loved the outdoors, camping and adventure, especially salmon fishing on the Rogue and elk hunting.
Survivors include her daughters; Lorinda Lee Zabuska of Medford, and Meta McDonald of Puerto Rico; five grandchildren (the oldest of which started college at U of O this fall as the first woman of the family to attend college); and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her two husbands, Mrs Vitale was preceded in death by two brothers.

Charlotte Stone
A memorial potluck for Charlotte Stone will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Talent Friends Church, 50 Talent Ave., Talent. Joe Kelly will officiate.
Mrs. Stone, 62, of Ashland, died Saturday (Sept. 20, 2003) at Plum Ridge, in Klamath Falls.
She was born on May 24, 1941 in Napa, Calif.
Mrs. Stone was a house wife.
Survivors include her husband, Julius J. Stone; a son Jeff Stone; daughter Tasha Stone; a step-daughter Tanya Stone; a brother, Steve Crist; a sister, Nancy Piersell; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a step daughter, Judy Cunningham, a brother, Daniel Crist, and her parents.
Leola M. Bowman
Leola M. Bowman, 81, died Wednesday (Aug. 20, 2003) at a convalescent hospital, in St. Helena, CA.
She was born on June 22, 1922 to the late William and Grace Rollins, in Imbler, OR.
She married
Nolan A. Bowman, who preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1991. She was a homemaker, and raised her two children. In 1991 she moved to St. Helena to be nearer her daughter.
She loved music and will be missed for her subtle wit.
Survivors include a daughter, Chyrl Hillis of Angels Camp, CA; a son, Garvan Bowman of St. David, AZ.; plus four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two nieces; and three nephews.

At her request no service will be held in St. Helena. A graveside service will be held later at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.

Stanley A. Brown, M.D.
In Remembrance of Stanley A. Brown, M.D.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Mass will be held Sept. 27, at 11 a. m. at St. Alice Parish, Springfield, Oregon, for Dr. Stanley Brown who died Aug.12. He was 81. Dr. Brown was born April 17, 1922 in Pomona, Califomia to Stanley and Mary Merkel Brown. He married
Charlotte Moreland in Portland, OR. on Nov. 26, 1955.
He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II.
He graduated from Willamette University and University of Oregon Medical School. Dr. Brown worked as a physician in a private practice in Gold Hill, Central Point from 1955 to 1968 and at the University Of Oregon Student Health Services until retirement in 1984.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Stephen of Eugene, David of Chandler, AZ, and Eric of Bend; a daughter, Paula Kitchen of Sandy; and six grandchildren.
Lorraine Mahler
Lorraine Mahler, 83, of Medford, died Tuesday, (Sept. 16, 2003) at Hearthstone. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003 at 11 a.m., at Eastwood Baptist Church, 675 N. Keeneway Drive, Medford. Rev. Roger Compton will officiate. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park in Enumclaw, Wash.

She was born on Oct. 1, 1919, in Enumclaw, Wash., to Nels and Thilda Berg. On May 18, 1973 in Medford, she married
Charles Mahler, who survives. She's lived in the Rogue Valley since 1973 moving from Washington.
Mrs. Mahler was a member of the Eastwood Baptist Church, she was active in the church choir and various organizations within the church. She was also a member of the Emblem Club and the Air Force Sergeant's Association. Mrs Mahler was a volunteer in the gift shop at Rogue Valley Medical Center for 20 years. She enjoyed flower arranging.
In addition to her husband survivors include: her son, Roger Oleson of Roseburg; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Norman Oleson, and brother, Nolan Berg.
