Arron Michael Krzuzanski
The memorial service for Arron Michael Krzuzanski will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Shady Cove Assembly of God.

Mr. Krzuzanski, 36, of Shady Cove, died Tuesday (July 22, 2003) in Salt Lake City.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors of Medford.

Lonny Lloyd Watembach
Lonny passed away May 26, 2003, at the age of 44, at Palermo, CA.

He is the son of former Central Point/ Medford resident, Susan L. Chase, and the late Phillip A. Chase who passed away in 1995.

Lonny was born at Leesville, LA., on Sept. 18, 1958. He moved with his family from MN. to Medford in 1974. Lonny attended Medford schools, and in 1977 married Roberta Guillinger. They later divorced.

Lonny was a proficient auto mechanic, and also worked in the construction trade in CA. He was very active within his church, and led the Jordon Crossing youth group.

Lonny is loved and mourned by his son, Jeramy, of St. Petersburg, FLA; mother, Susan, of Phoenix, AZ; maternal grandmother, Evangeline Olson, of Grantsburg, WI; two brothers, Colin, of Central Point, and Bradley, of New Bedford, MA; two sisters; Paula Alexander of Eagle Point, and Pamela Chase of Phoenix, AZ; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A service was held on June 7, 2003 at Jordon Crossing Ministries at Palermo. Entombment will be at Memory Gardens, Medford.

Gerald D. Reaves
Jerry Reaves, 71, was born May 27, 1932 to TL & Virginia Reaves, in San Antonio TX., where he met and married his wife, Viola Pearl Davis, on Dec. 24, 1950. They moved to their rural Central Point home in 1951.

Mr. Reaves worked for Boise Cascade, formerly Elk Lumber Company, from 1951 to retirement in 1992.

He enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, and being with family and friends.

Since 2002 he coordinated the Country Western Jam at the Gold Hill IOOF Hall, where he was a member. He was also a longtime member of the Eagles Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Viola; his children, Ted and George, both of Central Point; and Sandra Hulin of Dallas, TX.; two brothers, Bob Reaves of Portland, and Bill Reaves of Irrigon, OR.; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He died in his home of cancer, Aug 6, 2003.

Services will be Sat., Aug. 9, at 4 p.m., at Conger Morris Funeral Home, Medford. Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Hospice.

Ruth B. Schaefer
The Schaefer family wishes to celebrate the life of Ruth B. Schaefer who went to be with her Lord on August 5, 2003. She was born in Burlington, Iowa August 30 1916, the second of five children to Louise Selma Holze Bohlken and Fred Bohlken.

Ruth graduated from Iowa State University in 1938. In 1939 she married Orvine H. Schaefer, who preceded her death in 1971. In 1979, she retired from teaching in Arizona and moved to Medford to be near her family.

She was very active in the Westminster Presbyterian Church, belonging to several study groups, singing in the choir, and maintaining the library for many years. She was also involved with the Laubauch Literacy program and the SMART program.

She is survived by 2 sisters and one brother in Burlington. The children, Richard and Carol live in Medford, and Robert lives in Los Angeles. She has 6 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 10:30 AM, Saturday August 9, 2003.

Willie Cora Colvin
The graveside service for Willie Cora Colvin will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Medford. Pastor Ron McKay of Ruch Community Bible Church will officiate.

Mrs. Colvin, 91, of Medford, died Wednesday (July 23, 2003) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Foster Grandparent Program, 1700 E. Barnett Road, Medford, OR 97504.

She was born Willie Cora Hales on Aug. 22, 1911, in Bradley County, Ark. In October 1926, in Bradley County, Ark., she married Jesse Clarence Colvin, who died in 1957. She moved to the Rogue Valley 45 years ago from Hobbs, N.M.

Mrs. Colvin was a homemaker.

She belonged to the Foster Grandparent Program for more than 20 years, and attended Ruch Community Bible Church.

Mrs. Colvin enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include two sons, Jesse M., Jacksonville, and Sammie G., Hobbs, N.M.; two brothers, Samuel Roy Hales, Cathedral City, Calif., and James Thomas Hales, Needles, Calif.; a sister, Lurean Brown, Hermitage, Ark.; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild. She was preceded in death by two sons, Johnnie Colvin and Louis Ray Colvin; and one daughter, Mary Louise Dean.

Friends may pay their respects from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.

George ‘Red’ John Vobora
The committal service for George "Red" John Vobora will be at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 31, at Crownpoint Garden in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The memorial service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Medford. The Rev. Charles Christopher will officiate.

Mr. Vobora, 75, of Medford, died Tuesday (July 22, 2003) at Medford Rehabilitation Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association, 380 S.E. Spokane St., Suite 110, Portland, OR 97202, or Providence Community Health Foundation, Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR97504.

He was born May 6, 1928, in Granton, Wis., to Tony and Mary Anna (Marek) Vobora. On July 25, 1953, in Northwood, Iowa, he married Luana Holmberg, who survives. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1956.

Mr. Vobora was a career Marine. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1945, began flight training in 1949 and served in Korea in 1951. He was released to inactive duty in 1953, and returned to active duty in 1957. He did tours of duty in Okinawa and Vietnam, flying helicopters, and retired as a lieutenant colonel in 1969 after a tour in Iwakuni, Japan.

He owned Acme Personnel Service from 1970 to 1974, and was a Farmer’s Insurance agent for 10 years, retiring in 1987.

Mr. Vobora was active in Little League and Babe Ruth for five years.

Mr. Vobora enjoyed the outdoors, bowling, reading and crossword puzzles.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Andy, Eugene; a daughter, Julie Vobora, Dayton; five sisters, Marie Gross, Angela Garbisch, Josephine Bartlett, and Libbie Cockeram, all in Wisconsin, and Agnes Gross, in Minnesota; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael; and four brothers, Anton, Frank, James and Stanley.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, Medford.

Bob L. ‘Robert’ Jones
Bob L. "Robert" Jones, 74, of Ashland, died Wednesday (July 23, 2003) at his home. Services will be announced at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to East Children’s Alliance, 905 Parker Street, Berkeley, Calif. 974710.

Mr. Jones was born on Feb. 17, 1929, in Little Rock, Ark., a son of Charles Leroy Jones and Annie Laura Gilmer.

On June 17, 1955, in Ontario, Calif., he married Mary Ann Harris, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1990 from San Francisco.

Mr. Jones served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1948.

He received a B.A. from Dakota Wesleyan University in 1952, an M.A. from Boston University in 1957 and an M.S. from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1967.

Mr. Jones worked as a college professor.

He was a member of numerous humanitarian and environmental organizations.

Mr. Jones enjoyed bicycling, singing, tennis and writing.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Bradford L., Ashland; two daughters, Laura E, McCreery, Berkeley, Calif., and Brenda J. Jones, Portland; a sister, Sue Forbes, Morris, Ill.; a brother, John W. Marlette, Watertown, S.D.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles J. and Royce G.

Marialena ’Bunny’ J. Viramontes
A memorial service for Marialena "Bunny" J. Viramontes will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, at Hillcrest Chapel. Pastor Mike Brown of Table Rock Fellowship will officiate.

Mrs. Viramontes, 53, of Medford, died Thursday, (July 24, 2003) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Table Rock Fellowship, P.O. Box 5600, Central Point, OR 97502.

She was born on June 29, 1950, in Westwood, Calif., a daughter of John Adolph Schwartz and Leoma Grace (Duff) Sanchez.

On Feb. 26, 1972, in Medford she married Evello M. Viramontes, who survives. She moved to Medford and Klamath Falls 35 years ago from California.

Mrs. Viramontes was a member of the Table Rock Fellowship.

She worked for 25 years as an account executive, handling preferred customers accounts at Bear Creek Corp.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Moira Lee Viramontes, Medford; her mother, Lleoma Sanchez, New Ulm, Minn.; a sister, Gayla Robles, San Diego, Calif.; and six brothers, Alberto, Elma, Wash; Kim, Lakeside, Calif., Rodney, New Ulm, Minn., Tracy Sanchez, Layfayette, Minn., and Gary and Terry, both Florida.

Friends and relatives may pay their respects from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.

Naomi Ruth Blacketor
Naomi Ruth Blacketor, 85, of Medford, died Thursday (July 24, 2003) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. The Revs. Bob Murphy and Ralph Bunting will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1297, Medford, OR 97501, or to the Southern Oregon Humane Society, 2910 Table Rock Road, Medford, OR 97501.

Mrs. Blacketor was born on Aug. 3, 1917, in Columbus, Ohio, a daughter of Charles Albert and Edith (Every) Edmonston.

On June 4, 1939, in Santa Monica, Calif., she married Hugh Robert Blacketor, who died in 1998. They moved to Grants Pass in 1948 and to Medford in 1960.

Mrs. Blacketor was a homemaker.

She attended Rogue Valley Fellowship in Medford.

Mrs. Blacketor enjoyed reading the Bible, holding prayer groups at her home, golfing, sewing and her pet dog, Tibby.

Survivors include a son, Robert, Central Point; a daughter, Penny Ann Whitney, Eagle Point; a brother, Art Edmonston, Sun City, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary.

Marjorie O. Kinney
A memorial service for Marjorie O. Kinney will be at noon Tuesday at Eagle Point Community Bible Church. Pastor Robert Longan of Victory Christian Fellowship will officiate.

Mrs. Kinney, 80, of Gold Hill, died Thursday (July 24, 2003) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Medford Gospel Mission, P.O. Box 1172, Medford, OR 97501.

She was born on Jan. 11, 1923, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, a daughter of Cornelius and Della Mae Ellis Simpkins.

On June 7, 1943, in Ogden, Utah, she married Raymond C. Kinney, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1943 from Prosser, Wash.

Mrs. Kinney helped run and organize the Gold Hill Youth Club for several years. She also was a volunteer at the Medford Gospel Mission and gathered items from the community for Christmas baskets.

She was an avid gardener and seamstress and enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Raymond Jr., Gold Hill, and Hiram, Medford; seven daughters, Suzanne Rae Bohannan and Carol L. Eslin, both Medford, Judith Faye Mellow, Central Point, Katherine Rose Roberts, Gold Hill, Maurie Lee Phipps, Portland, and Patricia Lois Piper and Marjorie Lynn Rainey, both Redding, Calif.; 28 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Diane Fenning.

Howard H. Rose
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Howard H. Rose will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the parlor of Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Orange Park, Fla.

Mr. Rose, a Medford resident, died July 20, 2003, in Orange Park, Fla.

Mr. Rose was born in Akron, Ohio.

He enjoyed music, children, animals and nature.

Survivors include his father, Jack; his mother, Jacci Lane; and a sister, Robyn Rogillio.

Floyd B. Whillock
Floyd Bateman Whillock, 76, of Medford, died Friday (July 25, 2003), at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, Medford.

Barbara Ferns
Barbara Ferns, 72, of Medford, died Friday (July 25, 2003) at Hearthstone Manor in Medford.

George ‘Red’ John Vobora

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael; an infant daughter, Cynthia Gail; and four brothers, Anton, Frank, James and Stanley.
