Mary Louise Dean
The memorial for Mary Louise Dean will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Memory Gardens Chapel, 1395 Arnold Lane, Medford. A graveside service will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. The Rev. Paul Hagedorn of Providence Hospital will officiate.

Mrs. Dean, 69, of Ashland, died Friday (March 28, 2003) in Ashland.

She was born June 1, 1933, in Patsville, Ark., a daughter of Clarence and Willie Hales Colvin.

On Dec. 18, 1949, in Warren, Ark., she married Billy Max Dean of Hyatt Lake.

The couple had lived in the Rogue Valley since 1951.

Mrs. Dean packed pears for SOS Packing and was a supervisor at Harry & David for 37 years in Medford. She and her husband operated the Campers Cove resort at Hyatt Lake from 1992 until recently. The couple’s son, Billy W. Dean, now runs the resort.

Mrs. Dean was a member of Women of the Moose, Medford Lodge. She enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Billy W. Dean, Hyatt Lake; two brothers, Jessie Colvin, Ruch and Sammy Colvin, Hobbs, N.M.; and two grandchildren.

Visitors may pay their respects from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Memory Gardens Mortuary.

Eunice Christine Henson
The funeral for Eunice Christine Henson will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Conger-Morris Chapel, 715 W. Main St., Medford. Interment will follow on Thursday at Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo, Calif.

Mrs. Henson, 82, of Medford, died Friday (March 28, 2003) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, MDA, 1140 Willagillespie No. 14, Eugene, OR 97401.

She was born on Jan. 9, 1921 in Coffeeville, Miss., a daughter of Albert Winston and Ivy Mae Perkins Carson.

On July 16, 1939, in Jonesboro, Ark., she married Jack Joe Henson, who died in 1994.

Mrs. Henson, who had worked as a waitress, lived in the Rogue Valley for four years. She loved to shop, dance and talk.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda L. Caywood and Darlene Evans, San Jose, Calif., and Donna Jean Myers of Bellingham, Wash.; a sister, Vontice B. Larson; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Beckett, and a grandson.

Visitors may pay their respects from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at Conger-Morris.

Robert W. Soderholm
The memorial service for Robert W. Soderholm will be at 2 p.m. today at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland. Pastor Dwayne Robinson of Ashland First Baptist Church will officiate. Inurnment will be at Eagle Point National cemetery.
Mr. Soderholm, 87, of Ashland, died Sunday (March 2, 2003) at an Ashland foster home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association Inc., Southern Oregon Chapter, 2860 State St., Medford, OR 97501.

He was born May 26, 1915, in Fergus Falls, Minn., to Minnie and Hjalmar Soderholm. In October 1941, in Minnesota, he married Ethel Pearl Smith, who survives.

Mr. Soderholm worked in the payroll department for Hughes Aircraft in Culver City, Calif., for many years, retiring in 1980.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Soderholm was a member of Ashland First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Soderholm, Ashland.

Fay F. Goddard
The memorial service for Fay F. Goddard will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Central Point. Pastor Damon McCoy will officiate. Private interment will be in Eagle Point National cemetery.

Mr. Goddard, 89, of Medford, died Sunday (March 2, 2003) at his home.

He was born Feb. 10, 1914, in Frontier County, Neb., to McLean and Anna Isabel (Wymore) Goddard. On Sept. 14, 1945, in St. Francis, Kan., he married Dorothy A. Suttle, who survives.

Mr. Goddard came to the Rogue Valley in 1946 from Fort Morgan, Colo., and worked as an orchard foreman for Harry and David from 1946 until his retirement in 1979.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Goddard was a member of the First Baptist Church of Central Point.

He enjoyed bowling and working in his yard.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Dean A., Hayward, Calif., and Jerry F., Garden Grove, Calif.; a daughter, Virginia Goddard, Medford; two brothers, Asa and Roy; a sister, Ina Bashford; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Edwin Norman Lippert
The funeral for Edwin Norman Lippert will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Jerome Prairie Bible Church in Grants Pass. Pastor James Downing will officiate. Mausoleum entombment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens in Grants Pass.

Mr. Lippert, 89, of Medford, formerly of Grants Pass, died Monday (March 3, 2003) at Rogue Valley Manor Health Center in Medford.

He was born April 25, 1913, in Lodi, Calif. In 1933, he started a career as a furniture salesman. On June 3, 1935, he married Bonnie Berry, who died in 1998. They lived in Sacramento, Calif., and he became a store manager for Montgomery Ward and managed stores in Santa Rosa and Watsonville, Calif.

Mr. Lippert moved to Williams in 1955, where he bought a ranch. He opened a furniture store in Medford in 1957, and one in Grants Pass in 1962. In 1972, he founded Lippert’s Carpet One in Grants Pass. In 1973, he moved to Lake Tahoe, Nev., and became a real estate broker. He moved back to Grants Pass after his retirement in 1983, and to Rogue Valley Manor in 1993.

On Sept. 4, 1998, in Medford, he married Vivian Harre, who survives.

Mr. Lippert was a former member of the Lions Club in Watsonville, Calif., and was a former Boy Scout and 4-H leader in Watsonville.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball and bowling.

Survivors include two sons, Wes, Central Point, and Norman, Sandpoint, Idaho; a sister, Bertha Lederer, Sacramento, Calif.; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Arrangements: Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, Grants Pass.

Woodrow Houston Howell
The memorial service for Woodrow Houston Howell will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Talent. James Nathan will officiate.

Mr. Howell, 76, of Medford, died Saturday (March 1, 2003) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 1776 S.W. Madison St., Suite 200, Portland, OR 97205.

He was born May 25, 1926, in Millington, to Lyle and Noma Howell. On Dec. 20, 1947, in Grants Pass, he married Neva Hultman, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Howell had worked as a lineman and a foreman for Pacific Power and Light for 37 years. He lived in the Rogue Valley for more than 50 years.

During World War II, he served as a ship’s serviceman L second class in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Howell had been a professional bass fiddler in a band. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include four sons, Steve, Medford, Rick, Coos Bay, Gary, Roseburg, and Tom, Brookings; two daughters, Cheryl Lemke and Cindy Lee, both Medford; a sister, Geri Storts, Astoria; his companion, Joann Bergren, Medford; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Anne Emily Kay
The memorial service for Anne Emily Kay will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Medford.

Mr. Kay, 74, of Medford, died Sunday (March 2, 2003) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to any church.

She was born May 29, 1928, in Chicago, to Oscar and Emily (Silbberberger) Conzelmann. On May 29, 1945, in Chicago, she married Walter Fred Kay Jr., who died in 1991. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1969 from Pomona, Calif.

Mrs. Kay was a private duty aide in the medical field. Locally, she worked at Rogue Valley Manor.

She enjoyed her children and her family.

Survivors include three daughters, Karla Angell, White City, Emmy Cude, Medford, and Frances Nettles, in Arizona; two sons, Leonard, Eagle Point, and Frederick, Canyonville; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Naught.

Audrey Irene Stout
The memorial service for Audrey Irene Stout will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Assembly of God in Medford. The Rev. Lance Lovlin will officiate. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford.

Mrs. Stout, 94, of Medford, died Sunday (March 2, 2003) at Farmington Square in Medford.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Assembly of God, 1108 W. Main St., Medford, OR 97501.

She was born Audrey Wright on July 28, 1908, in Washington County, Ark. On Oct. 27, 1932, in Fayetteville, Ark., she married Haskell J. Stout, who died in 1986. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1946 from California.

Mrs. Stout was a founding member of the Rogue Valley Orchid Society and the Sis-Q Chapter of the North American Rock Garden Society (N.A.R.G.S.).

She was a homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God in Medford.

Survivors include a son, H. Dean, Medford; and a brother, Willis Wright, Sacramento, Calif. She was preceded in death by a sister, Hetty Thompson; and a brother, Lester Wright.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.

Pearl Jacobson
The memorial service for Pearl Jacobson will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Tabernacle in Ashland.

Mrs. Jacobson, 83, of Ashland, died Monday (March 3, 2003) at Scenic Hills Foster Home in Ashland.

She was born May 20, 1919, to Henry and Olie (Sorli) Weber. She graduated from high school in Alamo, N.D., in 1937. She married Alfred K. Jacobson, who died in 1994.

Mrs. Jacobson was a homemaker, author, songwriter and fashion designer. She had lived in Ashland since 1966.

She was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church.

Mrs. Jacobson enjoyed sewing, knitting and reading.

Survivors include two daughters, April Wine, Ashland, and Jan Jacobson, Fremont, Calif.; five sons, Tim, Medford, Luke, Ashland, Keith, Rochester, Minn., Larry, Las Vegas, and Tom, Williston, N.D.; 21 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Oscar Weber; and a sister, Martha Jacobson.

Margaret Jo Hutchinson
The funeral for Margaret Jo Hutchinson will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Conger-Morris Medford Chapel. The Rev. Darrell Hooten will officiate. The committal service will follow at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.

Ms. Hutchinson, 45, of White City, died Sunday (March 2, 2003) in Medford.

She was born Sept. 17, 1957, in Grants Pass, to Jess "Bud" and Ethel Louise (Sullivant) Hamrick.

Ms. Hutchinson was a foster mother to many children and was a lifelong Rogue Valley resident.

She enjoyed animals, fishing, camping and making jewelry.

Survivors include her fiance', Ramon Partida, White City; two sons, Daniel Lee Hutchinson Jr., and Matthew Jo Hutchinson, both White City; a daughter, Sarah Louise Hutchinson, White City; a stepson, Nathan Lee Glover, White City; her parents, Ethel and Bud Hamrick, White City; and two granddaughters.

Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Conger-Morris Funeral Home in Medford.

Angela Dawn Fiene
The memorial service for Angela Dawn Fiene will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at 5540 Rogue River Drive, Eagle Point. A potluck is also planned.

Mrs. Fiene, 36, of Eagle Point, died Sunday (March 2, 2003) in Prospect.

She was born Dec. 8, 1966, in Santa Rosa, Calif. She lived in the Rogue Valley all her life, moving from Santa Rosa, Calif. On March 13, 1993, in Newport, Wash., she married Phillip Fiene, who survives.

The Fienes owned and operated Big Blues Hauling and More for eight years. Mrs. Fiene also worked as a self-employed accountant.

She was an auto mechanic and enjoyed computers, woodworking and animals.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Amanda Shelton, Phoenix; two sons, Craig Shelton and Rusty Fiene, both Eagle Point; two sisters, Heidi Rains, Prospect, and Tracy Davis, in Idaho. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sheila Winters.
