Mary E. Wiltrout
A memorial service to commemorate the life of Mary E. Wiltrout, 39, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at the Conger-Morris Funeral Chapel, 715 W. Main, Medford. Pastor Steven Jones of Calvary Baptist Church of Ashland will officiate.

Mary E. Wiltrout passed away Sat. (Sept. 27, 2003) at home in Phoenix.

Mary Pietrowski, married M. Dan Wiltrouut on Dec. 30, 1982, in Ashland. They returned to the Rogue Valley in 1990 from Belton, Texas.

She worked as a real estate agent.

Mary enjoyed flower gardens and antique hats.

Surviving is her husband, M. Dan Wiltrout, and their children, Vonnie and Dusty.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Special Olympics of Southern Oregon.

Alta L. Logan
A graveside service for Alta Lucille Logan will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Visitation from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the service.

Mrs. Logan, 85, of Medford, died Saturday (Nov. 15, 2003) at Medford Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Alta Lucille Dir on Nov. 25, 1917 to Issac Dir and Nettina Baldrey in Montrose, CO. In 1932 she married Warren Barker who preceded her in death.

Alta served in the 508th WAAC Hg Det MADR AAF in Miami FL, from Nov., 1942 until Aug. 1943, she received an honorable discharge for medical reasons. She married Obe Lee Logan who also preceded her in death in 1967 Alta worked for the Carpenter Foundation as a bookkeeper for 25 plus years until her retirement in 1990. She enjoyed bowling, reading and the many cats who adopted her in her later years.

Survivors include her one son, Ramon R. Barker of Elma, WA; 3 grandsons, Scott B. Barker of Rochester, WA, Kirby L. Barker of Medford, Corey R. Barker of Gurnee, IL; 1 granddaughter Raelynn L. Barker of Medford; a sister, Naomi Turner of Roseburg, OR; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 nephews; and a niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, a brother, and a great-grandchild Bryan Barker.

Frances G. Childers
Frances Childers, 73, of White City died Friday (Nov. 14, 2003) at Medford Rehabilitation.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Conger-Morris Central Point Chapel. Interment to be at Rock Point cemetery. A visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Conger-Morris, Central Point.

Frances was born in Springfield, OR, the daughter of Lonzo and Margaret (Santos) Lown. She married John Childers on March 9, 1948 in Medford. She had lived in the Rogue Valley area most of her life.

She worked for the Bear Creek Corp in Medford for 13 years.

Mrs. Childers attended the Seventh-day Adventist church.

She enjoyed antiques, ceramics, gardening, hunting and fishing.

She is survived by her husband John; daughter, Carmen Rogers; 2 sons, Don of Shady Cove, and Ron of White City; 4 sisters, Opal Carrigan of Central Point, Mary Cady of Gridley, CA, Lois Twedell of Eagle Point, and Margaret Raines of Medford; a brother, Lonzo "Bud" Lown of Eagle Point; 18 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Johnny in 2000.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris, Central Point Chapel.

Harland A. Schmadeke
Services for Harland A. Schmadeke will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19 at the Veterans National cemetery, Eagle Point. Mr. Schmadeke, 84, of Central Point died Friday (Nov. 14, 2003) after a long illness.

Beloved by all who knew him, he was known for his quick wit, vegetable gardens and inventive solutions. He was born June 20, 1919 in Bradish, Nebraska. Mr. Schmadeke graduated from Nehalem High School, in Nehalem, Oregon. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He last worked in property management.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Bonnie; 2 daughters and their husbands, Diana (Don) Mundy, and Linda (Lon) Sugamele both of AZ; 3 sisters, Viola Brahm, Lorraine Dickens, both of Modesto, CA, and Inez Nygaard of Eugene, 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Lawrence Presley
Lawrence Presley, of Medford, died November 13, 2003 at Hearthstone Nursing Center. He was 83.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Presley; brother, Jack; sister, Lee; and his loving family, Susan, Larry, Deborah, and Sarah.

He was a gentle soul who will be missed but is now in the arms of the Heavenly Father.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Perl Funeral Home.

Christine Carnegie
Christine Carnegie, 87, of Central Point, died Sunday (Dec. 14, 2003) at Rogue Valley Hospital. No services are planned.

Mrs. Carnegie was born on Oct. 26, 1916 in Drain, OR to Nellie and Hollis Boyd. On March 9, 1934 in Roseburg, she married Daniel Carnegie who preceded her in death in 1997. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1962.

Mrs. Carnegie worked as a cook, and as a welder during WWII.

She enjoyed knitting, she would knit hats and afghans for everyone. She also enjoyed sewing and watching television. She was a beautiful giving woman and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include; a son Bill; a daughter Diane; sisters Lucille, Naomi and Marilyn; 3 grandchildren, Lynn, Beth and J.W. She was preceded in death by a son, Jack.

Edith Mae Sohnrey
A memorial service for Edith Mae Sohnrey will be at noon Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003 at Edith's home, 2540 Tennessee Dr., Medford.

Edith died on Saturday evening (Dec. 13, 2003) at her home with family by her side. She was 71.

She was born on Aug. 27, 1932 in Eagle Point to Rev. Glenn and Opal Yorton. When Edith was young her family moved to Prospect, OR, which is where she spent most of her adolescence.

Edith was always known for being a great wife, listener, friend, grandma, and most of all, a wonderful loving mother. She spent a great deal of her life raising her large family.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Richard Sohnrey; her remaining 10 children; and 4 step-children, Ron, Pam Janie, Belia, Raymond, Glenn, Shorty, Sharlet, Edie, Charlie, David, Margie, Greg, and Rick. She was also blessed to have numerous grandchildren and a handful of great-grandchildren.

Edith has always put her family and friends first. This is why she was such am amazing kindhearted, loving person, who will be missed and loved by all who had the honor of knowing this beautiful woman.

Frances C. 'Fran' Ferrari Frances C. 'Fran' Ferrari, 76, of Rogue River, died Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at the home of her daughter in Medford.

No services will be held. Southern Oregon Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to Asante Hospice, 2825 E. Barnett Rd., Medford, OR 97504.

She was born July 8, 1927 in Victor, Montana. For over 50 years she lived off and on in the Rogue Valley. During that time she also lived in Juneau, Alaska for 20 years where she enjoyed living and working as a commercial fisherman. In 2002 she moved to Rogue River from Medford.

She volunteered with the Foster Grandparent Program for seven years and the Home Program, both in Medford. She was known as 'Grandma Fran.' Her life revolved around her children and being a foster grandparent. She enjoyed helping people both young and old. She is survived by three daughters, Sherain L. Scott of Rogue River; Deloris VanPelt of Medford; and Barbara Bisson of Ellensburg, Washington; a son, Robert Corbitt of Medford; a sister, Louise Pereira of San Leandro, California; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Doris Corbitt Kudell in 1982; two grandsons, John Cleaver in 1983 and Travis VanPelt in 1989; and a granddaughter, Corrie Marie Corbitt in 1997.

Patrick Keeler Donohoe
Beloved and loving husband, father and son Patrick Keeler Donohoe died Friday, December 12 at his residence in Applegate.

Patrick was born in 1955 in Anchorage, Alaska. At the age of 9 his family moved to North Hollywood in Southern California where he attended Grant High School. He graduated from the University of California-Davis and the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, OR.

In 1982 he met his wife Carol while attending the Naturopathic College. Theirs was a sensitive and committed life relationship full of enduring love. Out of this relationship came their two daughters Cassandra (9) and Julianna (5). Patrick's foremost dedication and focus in life was his family and he demonstrated his large heart and vision in his single-minded care and attention to the needs and importance of those he loved.

In 1986 Patrick and his wife Carol Petherbridge founded the Bear Creek Naturopathic Clinic in Medford, Oregon. As a Naturopathic physician for 16 years Patrick taught, counseled and helped patients create and sustain holistic approaches to health. He is well-known for his compassion and concern for each patient as a unique individual.

Patrick enjoyed various activiities with his family, including teaching his children to ski, golf and string Christmas lights. He was an avid golfer with a tireless enthusiasm for the game. With Patrick's passing the financial futures of his golfing buddies will likely improve.

Patrick impacted our community as a whole, and touched us each individually. His generous spirit and caring nature will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife Carol Petherbridge, daughters Cassandra and Julianna, his mother Elizabeth Donohoe, and his brother Thomas C. Donohoe.

The memorial service to celebrate the life of Patrick Keeler Donohoe will be on Thursday December 18, 2003 at 5 p.m. in the Chapel at the Conger-Morris funeral home in Medford. A Patrick Keeler Donohoe memorial trust fund is being created at Washington Mutual Bank to accept donations in lieu of flowers. For additional information direct questions to Washington Mutual.

Russel John Morris
Russel Morris 55, of Central Point, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003 at Providence Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Eagle Point National cemetery. A visitation will be Monday, 3-7:30 p.m.

Mr. Morris was born Feb. 20, 1948 in Renton, WA, the son of Robert and Bessie (Joyce) Morris of Central Point. Russel moved here from Kent, WA in 1950. He graduated from Crater High in 1966.

He served in the US Army from 1967-1971 and had worked in road construction. He was a member of the Medford Eagles Lodge.

He is survived by his brothers, Robert A. of Ashland, and Jerry of Chiloquin, OR; and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Central Point Chapel.

Suzanne Langley
Suzanne Langley, beloved mother and grandmother, died Thursday, December 11, 2003 at her residence in Ashland, surrounded by loved ones. She was 74 years old.

Born Suzanne Isabelle Healy on July 3, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York to George Healy and Isabelle Calhoun Healy, Sue received her undergraduate degree at Trinity College and her masters degree in education at Columbia University. While attending Trinity, she was introduced to her future husband, George Langley, by her soon to be sister-in-law, Mary Jane. They were married in 1954, and raised their family together in Syracuse, New York and Santa Clara County, California.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother, Robert Healy; she is survived by her sister, Joan Healy Calame, and her four daughters: Deborah Langley and Carol Langley of Medford; Joan Langley and her family, Peter, Michael, Jack and Christopher Buckley of Ashland; and Janet Langley of San Diego.

A funeral mass will take place at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 16 at 2 p.m., and a graveside service will be offered at the Oak Hill cemetery in San Jose, California on Thursday, December 18 at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Sue's name to ARC of Jackson County.

Alma Ilene Solenberger
A memorial service for Alma Ilene Solenberger will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2003 at the family home. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.

Mrs. Solenberger, 76, of Eagle Point died Tuesday (Dec. 16, 2003) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Relief International, Attention: Robin and Brian Perry, P.O. Box 260103, Highlands Ranch, CO 80163.

She was born Alma Ilene Gentry on Dec. 23, 1926 in Smackover, AR. On March 11, 1946 in Oakdale, CA she married Clarence Junior Solenberger, who preceded her in death in Sept. 2003.

Mrs. Solenberger worked as a day care provider for over 20 years.

She was a member of the West Main Church of Christ.

Mrs. Solenberger was a seamstress, artist, and singer. She enjoyed canning.

Survivors include; a son, Dale Solenberger of Sams Valley; three daughters, Cindy Bowles of Eagle Point, Christine Lockeby, and Brenda Walls both of Iowa; a brother, Jerry Bob Gentry of CA; two sisters, Norma Jean Buttram of Medford and Ona Lee Brown of CA; and six grandchildren.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.

'Chet' Willson
Chester A. Willson, 92, of Eagle Point, died Wednesday (Dec. 10, 2003). A memorial service will be held Sat. at the Conger-Morris Central Point Chapel. Bill Hare of the Ashland Masonic Lodge will officiate.

Chet was born Feb. 17, 1911 in Delta, Colorado. He moved to Oregon at the age of 14 and graduated from Myrtle Point High School in 1929. He and Constance Louise Felsher were married in Jan. 1933 in Myrtle Point, OR.

He was a farmer, rancher, logger and carpenter retiring in 1976. For years he supported youth baseball in the Upper Rogue area. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his brother, Ralph Willson; a sister, Wanda Webb; grandchildren, Jay and Ray Greb, and Angie Bradley; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Connie in 1996, and a daughter Chloe in 1995.

Funeral Arrangements: Conger-Morris Central Point Chapel.

Daniel Kenneth Ohrt
12/8/17 - 12/9/03 Dan Ohrt, a resident of Des Moines, Washington, passed away in Seattle on December 9, one day after his 86th birthday.

In his youth he lived in Jackson County, attending Laurelhurst Elementary School, Prospect High School and Medford High, where he graduated in 1937. While a student at Medford High, he delivered the Oregonian before school and worked at Hubbard Bros. Hardware after school. He married Jean Culy of Medford in 1938. Two years later they moved to Bremerton, Washington, where their three children were born.

Mr. Ohrt founded Scotsman Cascade Refrigeration Sales & Service in Seattle and operated it until 1972, when he retired to a lakeshore home on Lake Chelan, Washington.

Survivors include; his wife; three grown children; two brothers, Wallace and Robert Ohrt; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held Friday, December 12, at 11 a.m., at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in SeaTac, Washington.
