Anne Boitano
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Anne Boitano at 11 a.m. on February 19, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Medford. A reception will be held in the Parish Hall following the service. Burial will take place at Portland Memorial Mausoleum on February 21, at 10 a.m.

Born Anna Paulina Figini on February 21, 1908 in Portland Oregon, Anne Married Anthony John Boitano on February 22, 1924. Anne and Tony eventually settled in Klamath Falls, Oregon, where they owned and operated City Sanitary Service. They had two children, Delores, who died at age three, and Shirley, who survives.

In 1938, Anne and Tony joined by Anne's sister Nora, and brother-in-law, Charles Bottjer, moved to Medford where they jointly owned and operated City Sanitary Service of Medford. It continues today under the ownership and management of the Boitano-Gambee family as Rogue Disposal & Recycling.

Anne's family and friends will remember her energy and enthusiasm, her sense of humor, her generosity and hospitality as well as her considerable skills in the kitchen.

For many years, Anne organized and cooked for the Annual Italian Dinner sponsored by the Elks Lodge. It was a major fundraiser for their organization. A remarkable cook, she filled orders for her ravioli for the annual Providence Guild Auction. Literally hundreds of dozens of her ravioli went to the highest bidder to help support the work of the Guild and Hospital.

Anne is survived by her daughter, Shirley Gambee; her grandsons, Mark, Peter and Stephen Gambee; six great-grandchildren; and her sister, Nora Bottjer.

The family suggests that remembrances be made to the Providence Health Foundation or Saint Anne's Alter Society.
