Otto Raymond Tresham
The funeral service for Otto Raymond "Ray" Tresham will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, in Hillcrest Memorial Chapel. Mausoleum entombment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Mausoleum.

Mr. Tresham, 89, of Sacramento, formerly of Eagle Point, died Tuesday (Jan. 27, 2004) in Sacramento.

He was born Jan. 21, 1915 in Sams Valley, the son of Otto R. Tresham and Faye E. DeFord Tresham. Tresham Lane was named for his family.

Mr. Tresham attended Sams Valley schools and continued to live there after his marriage to Charlotte "Jean" Upton on Nov. 7, 1936.

He worked in the logging industry in the Lakeview area as well as in the Rogue Valley, and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during WW II. The family lived in the Shady Cove area prior to moving to Eagle Point in 1948. He worked as a diesel mechanic for over thirty years.

Mr. Tresham was a member of the Eagle Point City Council and served as Mayor in 1955. He also served as a member of the Eagle Point School District Board for several years and presented each of his three children their high school diplomas upon their graduation from Eagle Point High School.

Mr. Tresham and his wife lived in Arcata and Eureka, California prior to returning to live in Medford. For several years he managed the Green Acres Pet cemetery. They made their home in Yuma, Arizona for eleven years, returning to Medford in 1995. They moved to Sacramento in April 2000 when his health declined.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jean Tresham of Sacramento; sons, Errol Tresham and wife Pam of Sacramento, and Duane Tresham and wife, Susan of Des Moines, WA and Palm Desert, CA; daughter, Beverly Donnelly & husband, Gary of Rancho Mirage, CA; brother, Roger Tresham of Tacoma, WA; grandchildren, Craig Nutter of Tacoma, WA; Jason Morris and Sara Morris, both of Medford; Heather Thomas of Sacramento, Kevin Tresham of Santa Cruz, CA; Misty Barger, Christy McLean and Janice Wheeler all of Sacramento, Scott Donnelly of Tacoma, WA, Robert Donnelly of Portland; and great-grandchildren, Zachary Morris, Alyssa Morris, Chelsea Nutter, Taylor Rae Thomas, Autumn Nutter, Ciera Morris and Kalan Tresham. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Milner.

Arline Ione Borhman
A memorial service for Arline Borhman will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Perl Funeral Home, Siskiyou Memorial Park.

Mrs. Borhman, 79, of Medford died Friday (Jan. 30, 2004) at Three Fountains Nursing Home.

She was born Feb. 4, 1924 in Mayfield, CA to James Elmer and Frances Ione (Tanner). She graduated from Eureka High School.

Arline worked most of her life as a secretary for GTE Lenkurt, Redwood City, CA.

She was a devoted daughter and mother.

Arline lived the last 17 years in the Rogue Valley with her best friends and companions, her cats, Julie Ann and Crysta. She enjoyed her family, nature and music.

Survivors include her sons, James Robert Borhman (Bonnie) of Medford, Richard John Borhman (Jean) Boone, NC; grandchildren, Nicole (Jason) Robustell of Medford, Colton Lenz of Minnesota, Alaina Walker of Boone, NC; great-grandchildren, Camden Riley, Bryce Tanner; cousins; nieces; nephews; and friends.

We will miss you dearly, and you will always be in our hearts.

Claudia Eliasen
Claudia Eliasen, resident of Talent, died on January 25th, 2004 in Palo Alto, CA. An announcement for her memorial service will be published at a later date.

As a child in Atlantic City, NJ, Claudia loved to spend time on the beach and at the Boardwalk. After Claudia attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison, she worked as a homemaker and loving mother. For three years, Claudia and her sons lived on a Kibbutz in Israel, after which time they moved to Ashland where she met her husband of 25 years, David Eliasen.

For 27 years, Claudia was well-respected in the community for the intensity, passion and care she put into her career as an advocate for the children of the Rogue Valley. During the first part of her career, she worked in a variety of settings for adolescents and troubled teens. Later, Claudia served as a child protective worker for the State of Oregon.

Her family and friends loved her for her warmth, compassion, selfless generosity and wonderful sense of humor.

Claudia struggled with cancer during the last year of her life. During this year, she was fortunate enough to spend a great deal of time with her family and friends, and was delighted to share her final three months with her new granddaughter.

Claudia is survived by her husband David; her children Scott, Jason an Ari Langer and their partners; her sister Joan Gross and her granddaughter Lilah Caputi.

Memorial donations may be made to Children's Advocacy Center, 816 W. 10th St., Medford, OR 97501 or the American Cancer Society.

Donna Ruth Gass
Donna Ruth Gass, 73, of Medford, died Friday, (Jan. 30, 2004) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Donna was born on Feb. 7, 1930 in Spokane, Washington, to Ruth and Andrew Rogerson.

She graduated from Seattle University School of Nursing in 1950. Also in 1950, Donna married Thomas P. Gass in Tacoma, Washington. They raised three children. They relocated to Medford in 1960.

Donna worked at Providence Hospital for 23 years as a registered nurse, the last 10 as a nurse manager of the orthopedics floor. She retired in 1989. She was devoted to her family, and was the perfect party planner and hostess. She enjoyed many traveling adventures with her family, especially after retiring.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas; daughter, Sally Seibert of Medford; sons, Tom Gass of Medford and William Gass of Rocky Point, OR; and seven grandchildren.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at the chapel of Perl Funeral Home at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at Sacred Heart Church in Medford.

Fred Jurado
A graveside service for Fred Jurado will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at Eagle Point Veterans National Cemetary. His brother, Tony Jurado, of Butte Creek Bible Church, Eagle Point, will officiate.

Fred Jurado, 53, of Medford, died Saturday (Jan. 31, 2004) at Providence Medical Center of liver complications.

He was born on Oct. 23, 1950 in Orange, Calif., to Tony Jurado (deceased) and Mary Rose Malgra.

Mr. Jurado attended Western High School, Community College in Washington state, and Rogue Community College. He moved to the from Redmond, OR, in 1988.

He served in the U.S. Army for six years with the rank of E-5.

Mr. Jurado was a Disabled Veteran, prior to that he was employed with the State of Oregon.

He was a Trail Boss for the Trail Dust organization and a dance instructor.

Mr. Jurado enjoyed coin collecting, and playing the guitar, and was a avid horse rider.

Survivors include: his life partner, Carolyne Hammer; his parents, Ray and Mary Malgra; his children, Kenneth, Fred, Tony, Brian and Gary; sisters, Julia Fernald, Kathy Jurado, Diane Perez, Lisa Jones, and Monical Wilkes; brothers, Donnie Jones and Tony Jurado; nieces and nephews; and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Tony Jurado, and a sister Lisa Jones.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Perl Funeral Home, Medford.

Grace Kluber
Grace Kluber, 73, of Medford, died Sunday (Feb. 1, 2004) at her home. No service is planned.

She was born on July 5, 1930 in Suffolk County, N.Y. to Joseph and Grace Mooney. On July 9, 1950 in East Moriches, New York, she married Edward Kluber who preceded her in death. They moved to Medford in 1978.

Mrs. Kluber enjoyed reading and cooking.

Survivors include sons, Edward and Brian Kluber; a daughter Randi Kluber; and six grandchildren.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris, Medford.

Alison Porter
Anderson Ricks Alison Porter Anderson Ricks of Grand Junction, CO, was born May 19, 1949, and died Jan. 28, 2004 of cancer. She was at home surrounded by her family. Her humor and spirit will be deeply missed.

Alison was born to Arthur and Beth Porter in Rexburg, Idaho. She attended schools in Rexburg and graduated from Ricks College in 1969.

She married Ross L. Anderson, of Medford, in 1972, and they have seven children. They were divorced in 1996, and she married Bruce Ricks of Grand Junction, in 1997.

In 2001, she graduated with honors from Mesa State College with a degree in biology and a teaching certificate.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce, of Grand Junction; her mother and four brothers; her seven children, Emily Anderson (Martin Roth) of Galesburg, IL, Teddy Anderson of Grand Junction, Brigham Anderson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jacob Anderson (Jessica and Trista Smith) of Medford, Roman Anderson of Eugene, OR, Lincoln Anderson of Salt Lake City, and Hailey Anderson of Grand Junction; and her grandson, Chase Porter Anderson of Medford.

Services were held at the LDS church in Grand Junction on Jan. 31, and burial took place in Rexburg on Feb. 2. A memorial gift may be made in Alison's name to the Humane Society at www.kspirits.org or to the Rainforest Action Network at www.ran.org.

Betty Biggers Vaughn
Betty Biggers Vaughn ( Mrs. Richard E.) died January 29, 2004 at Skylark Assisted Living Center in Ashland.

Betty was born on April 2, 1916 to Doris Curtis and William Edward Biggers in Detroit, Michigan. She was married in Detroit on January 6, 1936 to Richard E. Vaughn. They moved to Ashland in 1995 and were residents of the Mountain Meadows community.

Mrs. Vaughn is survived by two children, Susan Randall Vaughn of Ashland and Richard E. Vaughn Jr. of Greensboro, N.C.; five grandchildren, Drew Baily of Ashland, Reeve Baily of Seattle, Lance Baily of Longmont, CO., Tiffin Griffin of Fort Collins, CO., Amy Norman of Charlotte, NC; two step-grandchildren; Caroline and Worth Holleman of Greensboro and one great grandaughter, Lauryn Randall Baily of Ashland.

Betty loved to paint and to sew; she enjoyed yoga and spiritual studies. She spent much of her life appreciating the beauty around her, especially in nature. Her artist's eye for color and compostion was reflected in her paintings, her love of flowers and gardening and the interiors of the many homes she lovingly decorated for her family. Betty's recognition of color and beauty inspired her family and friends and they are grateful for her unique legacy.

In accordance with Betty's wishes, a simple family service will be held at a later date.

Her family expresses their appreciation for the loving attention given by Rogue Valley Hospice, Betty's private caregivers, the staff and caregivers at Skylark.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Jackson County Animal Shelter in honor of "Wags, " the terrier who brought both Betty and Dick so much joy.

Joe Gordon Denison
Joe Gordon Denison, 76, of Canyonville, died Tuesday (February 4, 2004) at Hearthstone Manor, Medford. No services are scheduled at this time.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to: Alzheimer's Association, 2860 State Street, Medford, OR 97504.

Joe was born on May 9, 1927 in Payden, OK to John Wesla and Mary Etta (Craig) Denison. On June 2, 1973, he married Donna Lee Hill, who survives.

Before retiring in 1985, he worked for 40 years for McDonald-Douglas in Huntington Beach, CA.

He enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Denison of Canyonville; four children, Joe Denison and his wife Rose, Debra Maciel, Sheila and her husband, Angelo Mangino, and Chris Hill; a sister, Mary Butterfield; mother-in-law, Faye Enderud; 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren, Arrangements; Perl Funeral Home, Medford.

John Elgian Noble
The graveside service for John Elgian Noble will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland. Interment will be at Mountain View I.O.O.F. cemetery, Ashland.

Mr. Noble, 90, of Eagle Point, Oregon died Thursday, February 5, 2004 at home while working on his ranch. A reception will follow at Ed's Oasis in Eagle Point.

He was born April 5, 1913 in Lakeview, Oregon to pioneers Julia and John Noble, whose family came west from Kansas in 1891. Mr. Noble attended schools in Langell Valley, Oregon and later moved to Lakeview where he finished his schooling. The family moved to Ashland in 1927.

On September 7, 1937 in Salt Lake City, he married Velma May Matthews, who preceded him in death in 2002. Mr. And Mrs. Noble have ranched in the Eagle Point area since that time.

Mr. Noble was employed as a cowboy on the Brophy Ranch during the 30's. He also worked for the Rogue River Creamery in Central Point, for Medply Inc. and later Boise Cascade.

He enjoyed rodeo, breaking horses, working cattle, marking and branding cattle, and riding range.. He loved to spend time with family, neighborhood kids, and visiting with friends and neighbors.

He was a lifetime member of the Eagle Point Grange and the Oregon State Grange for over 50 years. He was a member of the Summit Prairie Cattlemans Association and the Jackson County Cattlemens Association Survivors include: 2 daughters, Norma Ellen Kuyper and Laura May Assali, both of Eagle Point; 3 sisters, Julia Ann Byrd and Edna Hartwell, both of Medford, and Gertrude Richardson of Lakeview; 4 grandchildren, Russell and Cherayne Kuyper, both of Eagle Point, and Noramay and Desraye Assali, both of Eagle Point; 3 great-grandchildren, Matthew and Elle May Rohde-Kuyper of Eagle Point, and Rylee Mae Kuyper of Texas.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.

Stewart B. Milne
Stewart B. Milne, 91, of Lake Oswego, OR, died on Nov. 30, 2003.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 14 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Medford.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 3101 SW Sam Jackson Park Rd., Portland, OR 97239, or Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2000 Oakwood Dr., Medford, OR 97504.

Mr. Milne was born August 2, 1912 in Courtenay, ND. He lived in Medford from 1951 to 2001. His wife since 1940, Evelyn Shannon Milne, preceded him in death in 2000.

He was a manager at Haupert Tractor Co., Medford, from 1951 until retiring in 1977.

Survivors include: sons, Gary Milne of Lake Oswego and Mark Milne of Wausau, WI; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, Medford.

Thomas A. Tibbets
Thomas A. Tibbets died Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at his Eagle Point residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 10. The services will be at Perl Funeral Home with burial at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Pastor Arlen Ragsdale officiating.

Tom was born February 3, 1918, on the family farm in Blue Eye Missouri, the son of Dillard A. and Susan McCollough Tibbets.

He served in the United States Army during World War II. After discharge he moved to Oregon in 1941 to work with his brother, Estes Tibbets in the timber industry. He settled on a homestead in the Lakecreek area where he was later joined by another brother, Earl Tibbets and his family for a brief time while they logged the homestead.

Tom married his beloved Willie "Cricket" Crockett in 1952 in Medford. They shared life together until she passed away April 22, 2000. He was a rancher and could be seen at the Rogue Valley Auction every week. He was a fifty year member of the Central Point A.F. & A.M.

He is survived by sisters, Bobbie J. Lillegard of Monet, MO, and Lois J. Morris-Lee of Visalia, CA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins including: Wayne Marshall, Richard Tibbets of Medford; Jim Tibbets of Wasila, AK; Peggy Fine of Roseburg; Estelene Brown of Cottage Grove; Dean Tibbets of Talent; Carolyn Tamblyn of Portland; Kathryn Schmerber of White Salmon, WA; and Janet Adkins of Salem. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
