'Mollie' Thomas
Loretta E. "Mollie" Thomas, 75, of Central Point, died March 31, 2004 at her home.

A memorial service will be held Monday at Conger Morris Central Point at 10 a.m. with Pastor Mark Burton officiating. Inurnment to be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mollie was born June 17, 1928, in East St. Louis, IL, the daughter of Tobe and Minnie (Vickers) Holbrooks. She married Henry McGee, who died in 1994, and then Leslie Thomas, who survives.

She and her family were living in the Philippines at the start of WWII, but her step-father was able to get them out. She loved dogs, garage sales, collected glassware, and collector cars.

She is survived by her husband; one son, Daryl McGee; a granddaughter, Laura; and a great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Denna Rucker.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Central Point Chapel.

Patricia Alyene Johnson
A memorial service for Patricia Alyene Johnson will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at the Gold Hill Christian Church, 395 6th Ave., Gold Hill.

She was born on March 17, 1939 and passed away in Sacramento on March 26, 2004 after fighting a long battle with cancer.

She leaves behind her dear friend and partner, Bill Maas; her daughter, Debbie Layton; three sons, Doug Armstrong, David Armstrong, and Mike Johnson; and nine beautiful grandchildren.

She retired from the Social Security Office as a Hearing Assistant in Sacramento.

Patricia enjoyed traveling, playing the accordion and baking.

She will be missed by many family members and friends.

Wesley V. Hoxie
Wesley V. Hoxie, 93, of Ashland, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at Linda Vista Care Center, Ashland.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, April 8, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church of Ashland, 175 North Main Street, Ashland. The Rev. Michael Powell and the Rev. Nevitt B. Smith, Pastor Emeritus, of Ashland, will officiate.

Mr. Hoxie was born September 6, 1910 in Ashland as a third generation Oregonian. He attended grade and junior high schools in Ashland and graduated from Marshfield High School and Heald Engineering College in San Francisco.

On June 5, 1938 he married Mary E. Herbert in Ashland. In 1974, he retired as the Industrial Power Engineer for the San Jose Division of the Pacific Gas and Electric Company, after having worked for three other Public Utilities and the Federal Government as a Registered Electrical Engineer of the State of California.

He was active in the Boy Scout program, having started as Scout in Troop #2, Ashland, Oregon in 1924. He was awarded the Medal of Honor, Silver Explorer award ant the Silver Beaver award by the organization. He was also an honorary retired member of several engineering societies.

Since retiring to Ashland in 1974, he has retained his interest in scouting. In addition to serving on several City of Ashland committees, he was Chairman of the Citizens Advisory Committee for the formation of the Rogue Valley Transit District. Other activities include being a member and past President of the Ashland Senior Citizens Club and Ashland Chapter #3484 of the American Association of Retired Persons. He also served as a Redcoat for the Shakespeare Festival for over 15 years. His activities in the Ashland First United Methodist Church included being President of the Board of Trustees and chairman of several other church committees.

Survivors include two sons, Phillip R. Hoxie of Murphys, CA and Jack E. Hoxie of Terrebonne, OR; six grandchildren; two great grandsons. His wife, Mary, preceded him in death on August 8, 2002 in Ashland.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of the First United Methodist Church of Ashland or the City of Ashland Senior Programs.

Elizabeth G. Bradt
The funeral for Elizabeth G. Bradt will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2004 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 200 Oakwood Drive, Medford. Rev. Chris Ward of Westminster Presbyterian Church will officiate. Interment will be at Schenectady Memorial Park, Schenectady, NY.

Mrs. Bradt, 82, of Eagle Point, died Friday (March 5, 2004) at her home.

She was born on Feb. 4, 1922 in Marlbrough, MA to Everet and Marguerite Angier. On Oct. 29, 1994 in Clifton Park, NY she married Jack Pershing Bradt who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1997 from Troy, NY.

Mrs. Bradt worked as a Medical Administrator.

She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Amarnth, and the First Reform Church.

In addition to her husband survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Michael Armistead of Eagle Point; Grandsons and their wives, Michael and Sharon Deats of Central Point, Rick & Darla Deats, Central Point; step-granddaughter and her husband, Dawn & Ted Williams of Petaluma, CA; great-granddaughters, Stevie, Riki, Lexie, Alaina; great-grandsons, Caleb and Cody; neices, Vicki Pennisi of Alta Loma, CA, Beth Thomas of Sonora CA, Michelle Caferella and Pat Beculac both of Marlbrough, MA. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Francis Henness on November, 1992.

Eloise Reese Gross
Eloise Reese Gross, 83 of Phoenix, Oregon died Thursday, March 4, 2004 at Hearthstone Manor. No services will be held.

She was born on May 12, 1920 in Flatrock, IL to Elmo and Flora Norton. She moved to Southern Oregon in 1956. During that time she was the co-owner of Reese Marine Center as well as the owner of Antiques & Such where she was an antique dealer and appraiser. She also played an active role in the Phoenix City Council.

Eloise enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, painting, books, gardening, antiques, quilting, sewing and family history.

Survivors include: her brother, Mark "Red" Norton of Medford; her two sons, Mike Reese of Phoenix, and Sandor Toth of Tuscola, IL; four grandchildren, Paul Toth of IL, Mike Reese of Phoenix, Kimberly Allen of Central Point, and Mark Reese of Phoenix.

Francis Albert Krouse II
Francis Albert Krouse, II died February 20, 2004 after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

He was born Nov. 4, 1938 to Francis and Myrtle Krouse, Sr. at Sacred Heart Hospital, Medford. He attended Applegate Elementary School, graduating from the 8th grade in 1952. He was active in all aspects of 4-H for 9 years, completing projects ranging from electricity to all types of livestock. He attended Grants Pass High School where he was a FFA member for 4 years and lettered in Track. He graduated in 1956. He attended Oregon State University for one year where he was a pledge to AGR House.

His military service was 1959-61. He was a member of the 10th Field Hospital in Wurtzburg, Germany. After returning home, on June 10, 1961 he married Marlice Findley of Williams, where he lived until their marrieage ended. From that marriage he had two daughters, Marlisa and Angela.

Francis loved being behind the wheel, whether it was the school bus or for one of the many employers he drove for: Plumbly Logging, Davidson Redi-Mix, Bob Thompson Trucking, Ben Wamp Logging and Sessler Trucking.

From a young age he loved to be outdoors - horseback, hunting, fishing, camping, and in later years he enjoyed collecting antique tools. He was a well-known local Hydroplane racer in the 60's and early 70's. During this time he formed a close personal connection to the Hoopa Reservation which inspired him to study in great depth the local Indian Tribes and their cultures.

He is survived by a brother, Philip Krouse of Applegate; two daughters, Marlisa Krouse-McAlmond of Missouri, Angela Cochran of Texas; two step-daughters, Gina Mainard of Grants Pass and Tammy Olfson of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; and nine grandchildren: Kylee, Garret and Tyanna McAlmond of Missouri, Whitney and Andrea Cochran of Texas, Natalie and Lex Mainard, and Andrew and Adam Olfson, all of Grants Pass. He also leaves behind five nieces and two nephews, as well as many cousins, several close and devoted friends - John Hill, Robert Baize, Francie Decker, Barbara Niedermeyer, Tuffy Decker and Phil Sandquist.

Donations can be made in his name to either the Multiple Sclerosis Assoc. of Oregon or Applegate Valley Historical Society, P.O. Box 3122, Applegate, OR 97530.

He was laid to rest with a 21 Gun Salute at Eagle Point Veterans cemetery, Eagle Point on February 26, 2004. His daughters are planning a memorial service for summer 2004.

Marian Charlotte Repp
The funeral for Marian Charlotte Repp will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, at the Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel. Pastor Bill Gourley of the Medford Gospel Mission will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Repp, 86, of Medford died Wednesday (March 3, 2004) in Medford.

Memorial contributions may be made to, the Medford Gospel Mission, 125 W. Jackson, Medford, OR 97501.

She was born on Oct. 25, 1917 in Steele, ND to Henry and Alida Huseby. On Oct. 28, 1935 in Woodlake, MN she married Herb Repp who survives. They lived in Hood River, Or in the 1940s and 1950s, then in 1978 to present they lived in Brownsboro and Medford.

Mrs. Repp worked as a nurse at various hospitals.

She was a member of the Neighborhood Church in Medford.

Mrs. Repp's hobbies were gardening and sewing. She enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family.

In addition to her husband survivors include a son and his wife, Gary Marvin Repp Sr., and Joan Repp of Medford; a daughter and her husband, Sonja and Larry Resh of Eagle Point; a sister, Flora Ritchie, age 93, of Fort Benton, MT; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters, six brothers, and a son, Neil A. Repp.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.

Robert 'Bob' D. Dunagan A memorial service for Robert "Bob" D. Dunagan will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at Eagle Point Veterans Memorial cemetery. Rev. Michael Brown will officiate.

Mr. Dunagan, 71, of Central Point, died Tuesday (March 2, 2004) at his home.

He was born on July 2, 1932 in Gold Hill, OR to Leslie and Velma Dunagan. On Sept. 27, 1952 in Reno, NV he married Barbara J. Underwood who survives. They moved to Central Point 37 years ago. He was a native of Medford.

Mr. Dunagan was a graduate of Medford High School.

He was a Army Veteran and served in the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Dunagan worked as a truck driver until his retirement in 2001.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, music, the art of Morel Mushroom hunting, which he passed on to his family, and spending time with his large family and many friends.

In addition to his wife of 51 years, Barbara, survivors include, sons, Jeff, Duke, Tim, Kevin, Robert, Larry, Ryan and Andy Dunagan; daughters, Tisa, Teri, and Kathy; sister, Gloria Deutschman; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene and Wayne.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris, Medford.

Stanley A. Sheldon
The memorial service for Stanley A. Sheldon will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2004 at the Eagle Point National cemetery.

Mr. Sheldon, 83, of Phoenix, died Feb. 27, 2004 at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the organization of your choice.

Mr. Sheldon was born on Oct. 27, 1920 in South Dakota.

He served as a Staff Sargeant in the U.S. Army during WW II.

Mr.Sheldon worked at Medco for 21 years, retiring in 1982.

He enjoyed reading, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include; his wife, Ruby Sheldon of Phoenix; daughters, Lonna Davis of McKinleyville, CA, and Lynn Verstrate of Grants Pass; five granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren.

David 'Dave' N. Woolf
A Memorial service for David "Dave" Norman Woolf will be at 3 p.m. Friday, March 26, at the Church of Latter Day Saints located at Highway 62 and Linn Road, Eagle Point. David, 53, of Eagle Point died Friday, (March 19, 2004) of a heart attack.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Visitation will be today, March 25, 2004 from 7- 9 p.m. at Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, 550 Business Park Drive, Medford.

A viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, March 26, at the Church of the Latter Day Saints in Eagle Point.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at Lawncrest cemetery, 1522, E. Cypress Road, Redding, CA.

A full obituary ran Wednesday, March 24, 2004.

Dorothy May Buchanan
Dorothy May Buchanan, 85, of Tacoma Washington, died October 30, 2003. She lived in Ashland, several years before moving to Sumner WA, where she remained until her death.

She is survived by three sons; Wayne Farmer, Carl Farmer, Willie Buchanan, and one daughter; Sandra Buchanan. Also a sister, Bernice Flagg.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, & two sisters.

A private Memorial Service will be held on Friday March 26th, at 4pm, at City of Ashland cemetery, 440 Normal Ave. Ashland.

James 'Jim' W. Dorsey
A private family celebration for the life of James "Jim" W. Dorsey will take place at his favorite fishing hole to honor his love of family and his favorite pastime.

Mr. Dorsey, 87, died Thursday, March 16, 2004 at his home, cared for by a loving foster care staff. He was born on Oct. 22, 1916, in La Harpe, Kansas, son of Julia E. (Pittsenbarger) and Peter J. Dorsey.

He moved to Oregon as a young man where he met and married Alpha G. Brownlee on Nov. 22, 1937. Alpha preceded Jim in death. He later married Evelyn "Toby" Swift on Feb. 2, 1956, who also preceded him in death.

Mr. Dorsey worked in the bakery business for Fluhrers and Becks Bakeries for 30 years and for the Jackson County Road Department for 10 years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping trips, especially with the Good Sam RVers. He always enjoyed a good book and was a devoted father.

Survivors include one sister, Catherine Moser of Colorado Springs, CO; 5 sons, John P. of San Francisco, CA, Tom J. of Grants Pass, Larry L. of Medford, Terry L. of Grants Pass, Rodney Hanley of Summerville, OR; 2 daughters, Fredena Richardson of Salem, and Janet Kelly of Petaluma, CA; and 16 grandchildren.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.
