Benjamin Warren Eberle

March 29, 1994 - October 8, 2004

Benjamin Warren Eberle, 10 of Heist Road, Butler, died Friday, October 8, 2004 at 8:45 p.m. at his residence.

Born March 29, 1994 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of William David Eberle and Audrey Farr.

He was a fifth grade student at Clearfield Elementary School. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. He played the trumpet and belonged to the school chorus. He was a Webelo in Cub Scout Pack 29. He loved science, nature, art and building things with his hands. He wanted to be a geologist.

In addition to his parents, Benjamin is survived by two brothers, David Lyle Eberle, Charles (Charlie) William Eberle, three sisters, Kathryn (Kate) Shirleen Eberle, Audrey Margret Eberle, Hannah Elizabeth Eberle, all at home, by his maternal grandparents, E. Lyle and Shirleen T. Farr of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and by a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Richard C. Hartung officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Jane Dumbaugh Dean

October 12, 1918 - October 5, 2004

Jane Dumbaugh Dean, 85 of Iroquois Drive, Butler, died Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at 12:30 p.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born October 12, 1918 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Arthur O. Dumbaugh and Ella Stewart.

Mrs. Dean was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and was active with her church including the Ruth circle and Hearts and Hands group. She was a member of the GFWC-General Federation of Women's Club. She was formerly active with North Main Street Church of God and Christ Outreach Church.

Mrs. Dean is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Judith Ann) Cash of Memphis, Tennessee, Mrs. James (Mary Ellen) Brandt of Miami, Florida, one son, J. Richard Dean of Butler, Pennsylvania, four grand-children, one great-grandson, and two step-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her husband Chaplain (Major) James Hugh Dean, who passed away on March 23, 1991.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Thursday, October 7, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Friday, October 8, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Dennis Molnar and Revered Dr. David West officiating. Interment will follow in North Side cemetery.

David R. Emery, Sr.

August 15, 1935 - October 2, 2004

David R. Emery, Sr., 69 of West Patterson Avenue, Butler, died Saturday, October 2, 2004 at Cape Fear Valley Health System in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Born August 15, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Jack Emery and Irene Wynkoop.

Mr. Emery worked a retired painter for Pullman Standard. He was a member of Butler Wesleyan Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and the Korean conflict.

Mr. Emery is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mark (Susan) Schuler of Butler, Pennsylvania, two sons, Mr. David Emery, Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mr. Michael Emery of Butler, Pennsylvania, nine grandchildren, one brother, Harry C. Emery of New Galilee, Pennsylvania, two sisters, Mrs. Jean Brown of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Dot Porter of Greenville, Pennsylvania, and by a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Emery was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Centorcelli Emery, who passed away on December 29, 1999 and by two sisters.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Tuesday, October 5, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Butler Wesleyan Methodist Church, Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend James A. Lynn Officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Earl T. Denton

November 16, 1930 - September 22, 2004

Earl T. (Buddy) Denton, 73 of Malvern, died Wednesday, September 22, 2004 in Mainline Nursing Center.

Born November 16, 1930 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Earl T. Denton and Mabel E. Emery.

He worked as a food service manager for various companies. He was a graduate of Butler High School class of 1948.

Mr. Denton is survived by his mother, Mabel E. Denton of Philadelphia, Pa, two sisters, Mrs. William S. (Lucille Titus of Long Island, New York, Mrs. William A. (Dawn) Sanders of Rancho Cordova, California, one brother, Joseph L. Denton of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, and by a number of nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in North Washington cemetery.

Stella H. Cohen

June 30, 1910 - September 17, 2004

Stella H. Cohen, 94 of Butler, died Friday, September 17, 2004 in Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born June 30, 1910 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of William Horwitz and Dora Berman.

Mrs. Cohen was a homemaker. She was a member of Congregation B'Nai Abraham. She was active in the Jewish community and the Congregation B'Nai Abraham Synagogue where she sang in the Synagogue choir for many years. She was a member of Hadassah and the Sisterhood. She was an active supporter of the Butler Little Theatre, Butler County Symphony, Butler Area Public Library and United Jewish Appeal. She was a member of the American Association of University Women.

Mrs. Cohen is survived by one son and his wife, Steven and Marsha Cohen of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, daughter, Harriet Cohen of Larchmont, New York, four grandchildren, William Cohen, Jason Cohen, Theodore Cohen, Jennifer Cohen, one brother, Maurice Horwitz, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cohen is preceded in death by her husband Isadore Cohen, two brothers Samuel and Ellis Horwitz and one sister Frances Gordon.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Sunday, September 19, 2004 from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Sunday, September 19, 2004 at 1:30 P.M. with Cantor Adriane Caplowe officiating. Interment will follow in B'Nai Abraham cemetery.

Elva Berline

October 1, 1910 - September 9, 2004

Elva Berline age 93 passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2004 in the home of her daughter and son-in-law.

Born in Butler County on October 1, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Sheldon S. Young and Anna M. McAnallen Young.

Mrs. Berline was a homemaker; she was a member of the North Main St. Church of God and the Keenagers class of her church .She had been a lifelong member of the Women of the Church of God (formerly the Women's Missionary Society), having held several offices including president. She also held an office in the State Women of the Church of God. In addition she had been the historian of her church.

She is survived by three sons, Clyde (Monty) Berline and his wife Barbara of Seattle, Washington, Ronald C. Berline and his wife Ruth of Pendleton, Indiana and Rodney Dean Berline and his wife Jan of Newburgh, Oregon, one daughter; Mrs. Ronald (Elva Lea) Andres of Butler, Pennsylvania, two sisters, Mrs. Sheldine Link and Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Lepley both of Butler, Pennsylvania and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Berline was married to Clyde A. Berline he preceded her in death on May 10,1974. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

Friends and family of Elva Berline will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001 on Sunday and Monday, September 12 and 13, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 and 9 p.m.

Funeral Services will be from The North Main Street Church of God on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverends David Brown and Kenneth Hall of the North Main Street Church of God officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut, Pennsylvania.

Mildred R. Fudoli

May 3, 1917 - September 2, 2004

Mildred R. Fudoli, 87 of Village Green Boulevard, Mars, formerly of Wallula Avenue and McKean Street died Thursday, September 2, 2004 at 9:02 p.m. at her residence.

Born May 3, 1917 in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Edgar L. McDonald and Amelia Moffit.

She worked as a bookkeeper for Kerven Subaru in Butler. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Fudoli was a reading tutor (Loblaw System) through Butler County Community College.

Mrs. Fudoli is survived by her daughter, Judith D. Madden of Mars, Pennsylvania, four grandchildren, Michael Fudoli of Butler, Pennsylvania, Laura Simpson of Arnold, Pennsylvania, Patrick Madden, Jr. of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Pamela Quiggle of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, by five great-grandchildren, Matthew Fudoli, Sheree Simpson, Tanner, Connor and Ryder Quiggle and by a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Fudoli was preceded in death by her husband Joseph L. Fudoli, who passed away on October 30, 1995, by one son, Robert J. Fudoli, two sisters and two brothers.

Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Monday, September 6, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend J. David Panther officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum of Butler County Memorial Park.

Bessie Buchanan

December 4, 1907 - August 19, 2004

Bessie Buchanan, age 96 went home to be with the Lord at 7:50 P.M. August 19, 2004. She formerly resided at Arden Lane in Butler where she made her home with her grandson David and his family. She had been a resident of Sunnyview Home since October 2003.

Born in Mercer, Pennsylvania on the 4th Day of December 1907, she was the daughter of the late Harry Lambert Kuhn and Laura Hilty Kuhn. Bessie loved and honored her parents. Mrs. Buchanan was one of the original charter members of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Butler, and was the oldest member of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church in Butler. She had a servant's heart and was a member of the Women's Alliance and a former Sunday school teacher affectionately known as " Aunt Bessie".

Mrs. Buchanan enjoyed fishing with her husband Ellsworth Harrison Buchanan whom she married February 27,1927, he preceded her in death on April 2, 1976.
She is survived by her loving family, two sons Ellsworth Buchanan and his wife Dolores of Chicora, Pennsylvania and George Buchanan and his wife Betty of Butler, Pennsylvania, two daughters, Hazel Robson of Karns City, Pennsylvania and Dorothy Mincer of East Butler, Pennsylvania, six grandchildren and seven great -grandchildren, Thomas Robson and his wife Myrna and their children Mandy and Angie of Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania, Deborah Robson of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, David Wood and his wife Sherri and their children Jenna and Abbey of Butler, Pennsylvania, Shawn Mincer of Michigan, Colleen Muto and her husband Roger and their daughter Sarah of Fenelton, Pennsylvania, and Joyce Buchanan and her sons Colt and Kerry also one brother William Kuhn of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two Brothers, one of which was her twin, two sisters and two son-in-laws Charlie Robson and Howard Mincer.

Friends and family of Bessie Buchanan will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001 on Saturday, August 21, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Funeral Services will be from Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faithway-Fared Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001 on Sunday, August 22, 2004 at 1:30 P.M. with the Reverend Richard Jenks officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut, Pennsylvania.
