Pennsylvania Obituary and Marriage Records, 1947-2010

CAROL SWARTLEY  
Carol A. (Reynolds) Swartley, 66, of Colmar, died Jan. 3, 2007 in her home, surrounded by her loving family, following a brief, courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Donald D. Swartley.  Born in Lansdale, she graduated from Lansdale School of Business and during her younger years worked at the former Glasgo Knitware Mfrs. in Lansdale. She was the owner of Carol Swartley Notary, Tag & Title Service in Colmar. In addition, she was an apportion agent.  She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansdale and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Colmar Fire Company.  Surviving with her husband are three children, Donna L. Metz and her husband, George, of Conshohocken, Lynda J. Swan and her husband, Dale, of Middlebury Center and David D. Swartley and his wife, Amy, of Colmar; three granddaughters, Jessica, Rachelle and Ava; and four grandsons, Dale Jr. “DJ”, Zach, Ben and Jakob. Also surviving are two brothers, James and Harry Reynolds of South Carolina.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Albert Rue and Mary Bailley; an aunt, Mary Horning; and a brother, Wayne Reynolds.  Viewings will be held from 6 to 8:30 PM, Sunday and from 10 to 11 AM, Monday, at the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 W. Derstine Ave., Lansdale. The funeral service will take place at 11 AM, Monday, Jan. 8, in the funeral home. Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the American Cancer Society, 700 Horizon Circle, Suite 201, Chalfont, PA 18914.

BENJAMIN MOYER  
Benjamin K. Moyer, 65, of Quakertown, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hos pice in Bethlehem. He was the husband of Paulette W. (Landes) Moyer.  Born in Sellersville, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Margaret (Kriebel) Moyer.  He had been employed in the environmental services and security departments at Grand View Hospital in West Rock hill.  He enjoyed bowling with sev eral teams and enjoyed sports, politics, crossword puzzles and religion. He had volunteered at Grand View Hospital, following his employment there.  Mr. Moyer was a member of Saucon Mennonite Church of Coopersburg.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lisa Hrabina and her husband, David, of Emmaus and Melissa Moyer of Quakertown; a granddaughter, Christina Roff of Quakertown; two sisters, Lois Kerns and her hus band, Robert, of Telford and Kathryn Brunstetter and her husband, Terry, of Souderton; and two brothers, Paul Moyer and his wife, Helen, of Lansdale and Terry Moyer and his wife, Gail, of Hatfield.  A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, Jan. 9 at East Swamp Mennonite Church, 2405 E. Swamp Road, Quakertown. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 AM, Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Memorial Fund/GVH, 700 Lawn Ave., Sellersville, PA 18960 or Saucon Mennonite Church, 6639 N. Main St., Coopersburg, PA 18036. Arrangements are by Anders - Detweiler Funeral Home in Souderton.

WILLIAM WOLFF SR.  William H. Wolff, Sr., 82, died Jan. 4, 2007 in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill. He was the beloved husband of Jennie (Bartlett) Wolff and they had observed their 62nd wedding anniversary last November. The couple lived in the Juniata Park section of Philadelphia, until moving to Har leysville three years ago.  Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Ira N. and Genevieve (Joyce) Wolff. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.  Mr. Wolff was a 55 year mem ber of the Plumber’s Union, Local No. 690.  He was a former 50 year member of Juniata Park Memorial Post No. 738, American Legion and since moving to Harleysville, belonged to the American Legion Post in Hat field.  Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two children, Joanne M. Patti and her husband, John A., of Upper Gwynedd and William H. Wolff, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, of East Rock hill; six grandchildren, Brian, Shawn, Jennifer, Michelle, Kevin and Marc; and two great - grandchildren, Anna Marie and Jack. Also surviving are a brother, Ira N. Wolff, Jr. and his wife, Margaret, of Philadelphia.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass, Wed., Jan. 10 at 10 AM in Corpus Christi Church in Upper Gwynedd, where friends may greet the family after 8:30 AM. Interment will be in St. John Neumann cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Crohns & Colitis Foundation, 367 E. Street Road, Trevose, PA 19053. IRMA ANDERS  Irma (Reiff) Anders, 88, a life long resident of the Worcester area, passed away Thursday Jan. 4, 2007 at Meadowood at Worcester. She was the be loved wife of the late Ellis D. Anders who passed away in 2000.  Born Sept. 7, 1918 in Worcester, she was one of seven children born to the late Abram and Malinda (Heebner) Reiff.  Mrs. Anders was a lifelong member of Central Schwenkfelder Church where she served as a primary Sunday school teacher and a department superintendent for 27 years.  She was a graduate of Worcester School and Norristown High School.  Mrs. Anders was a wonderful homemaker who also loved working side by side with her husband to whom she was married for more than 60 years.  She is survived by her sister, Mabel H. Reiff of Claremont, CA; and 13 nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Dr. Leslie R. Anders; her sisters, Leila Anders, Florence Heebner, Irene Kriebel and Helen Brunk; and her brothers, Rolland Reiff and Elmer Reiff.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 2:30 PM at Central Schwenkfelder Church, 2111 Valley Forge Road, Worcester. Family will greet friends following the service in the adjoining fellowship hall. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Central Schwenkfelder Church Memorial Fund, P.O. VERNA RICHMAN  Verna M. (Fluck) Richman, age 79, a resident of the Pe ter Becker Community in Harleysville, died Thursday, January 4, 2007. She was the wife of the late Alfred T. Richman, who died in 1999.  Born in Sergentsville, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Elmer W. and Bertha M. (Amey) Fluck. She had resided in the North Penn area most of her life. She had been raised in the Protestant Faith.  Mrs. Richman had worked for the Harriet Carter Gifts in Montgomery Township, as well as Lerch Quality Foods.  She had been a member of both the Harleysville SAAC and Souderton SAAC, and was a former member of the Eastern Star, Lansdale. She very much enjoyed going to yard sales, and was very accomplished with crocheting.  Mrs. Richman is survived by a son, Larry D. Richman and his wife Diane of Hatfield; a daughter, Brenda S. Sowers and her husband Bruce of Harleysville; a sister, Gloria N. Blyth of Trenton, NJ; two broth ers, Walter Fluck and his wife Audrey of Doylestown, and Edgar Fluck and his wife Margaret of Perkasie; and two grandchildren, Jaclyn N. and Mark A. Richman.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger and Edward Fluck; and a sister, Grace Lear.  Private graveside services will be held at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Horsham Township.
