Brewer, Samuel D.

Samuel D. Brewer, 77, of Cape May Court House, died suddenly on November 26, 2001. Sam was born in Philadelphia and resided in Cape May Court House for the past 32 years. He was retired from the Middle Township Board of Education. During his employment at Middle Township High School, he worked tirelessly with the Marching Band and the Key Club. He was an active member of the Cape May Court House Kiwanis and a Past Distinguished President and Secretary of the Club and Past Distinguished Lt. Governor of Division 1. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 until 1949 during which time he received numerous medals including the Bronze Star (V), the Purple Heart with 2 Clusters, Good Conduct Medal, EAME Campaign Medal with 1 Silver Star and 2 Bronze Stars, World War II Victory Medal, and a Presidential Unit Citation.

Mr. Brewer is survived by his wife, Joan; his beloved daughter, Samantha and her fiancee' Joshua Bromley of Alexandria, VA; his nephews, Virgil and Kristofer Briles of Cape May Court House, Robert Lowell and his wife, Danielle of Philadelphia and their children, Nikki and Todd, Joseph Lowell and his wife Kathy of Union, SC; and his niece, Doreen Stowers and her husband, Bill of Flourtown, PA. His loving sister, Dorothea Briles, predeceased him in April.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 30, 2001 at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where friends may call one hour before the service. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 496 North Kings Highway, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 or to the WWII Memorial Building Fund in Washington, D.C.

Brewington, Gerald "Bunny"

Gerald "Bunny" Brewington, longtime and prominent resident of Wildwood, NJ, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2003 at the Court House Convalescent Center, Cape May Court House, NJ. He was born in Salisbury, MD. He spent most of his adult life in Wildwood, NJ.

He was a world class entertainer, best known for his smooth voice and his fabulous fashion shows. He was also an outstanding hair stylist serving clients of all ages throughout Cape May County.

He is survived by one brother, Dr. Warren C. Hayman and sister in law, Jacqueline C. Hayman of Baltimore, MD; a nephew, Guy D. Hayman of California; a niece, Julia Hayman-Hamilton and her husband, Darrell Hamilton of Baltimore, MD; two cousins, Leah Johnson and Perry Lewis, both of Chester, PA; and a host of great nieces, nephews, other relatives, and extended family and friends.

Funeral services for Bunny Brewington will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2003 at the Mount Olive Baptist Church, 46 East Atlantic Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ, where relatives and friends may call from noon to 1:00 p.m. Interment will be Sunday, March 2, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. in Springhill Memory Gardens, Salisbury, MD

BRICHETTO, Mary (nee DiGiambattista)

Suddenly on December 23, 2003 of Marlton. Age 85. Beloved wife of the late Joseph. Loving mother of John Brichetto and his wife Carol of Egg Harbor Twp, and the late William. Devoted grandmother of Peggy, JJ, Jimmy and Jesse. Dear sister of Lena (Peach) DiAdamo of Voorhees. Mrs. Brichetto was a member of Marlton Senior Citizens. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing 9-10am Saturday at the BRADLEY FUNERAL HOME, Rt 73 & Evesham Rd., Marlton. Funeral Service 10am Saturday at the Funeral Home. Interment Calvary Cem., Cherry Hill.

Brick, Eleanore S.

Eleanore (Spitzner) Brick, 92, of Cape May Court House, died on Thursday, June 28, 2006 at the Ocean View Center. She was born February 2, 1914 in Battle Creek, MI, married Dr. John K. Brick on December 21, 1935, and moved to Cape May Court House in 1936. She is survived by two sons, John C. and his wife, Clare of Linwood and Bruce and his wife, Joann of Winfield, WV; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Brick served as dental assistant and secretary for 25 years in her husband's dental practice until their retirement in 1983. She was active in the Women's Community Club of Cape May Court House and was Treasurer for 20 years. She participated in their annual one act plays. She also was a volunteer for 15 years at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital and a member of the Cape May Historical Society where she and her husband served as guides at the museum. Mrs. Brick was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Cape May Court House and a choir member for 25 years.

There will be a graveside service Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Baptist Cemetery, Cape May Court House.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 101 South Main Street, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.

Brick, Dr. John K.

Dr. John K. Brick, D.D.S., 96, of Cape May Court House, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 10, 2009. Dr. Brick and his wife, Eleanor moved to Cape May Court House in 1935, beginning his practice of dentistry which lasted over 48 years.

Dr. Brick helped organize the first Chamber of Commerce in Cape May Court House and became its President. It was in this group that the idea for a county hospital originated and became the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Dr. Brick was appointed to the active medical staff serving for 25 years. It was at this same time there was a need for support of boy's activities and a union was made and the Boy Scout Council was formed. Dr. Brick served in many positions through the years including over 50 years as a member of the Executive Board of what is now known as the Southern New Jersey Council of Boy Scouts of America. Dr. Brick was awarded the Silver Beaver for his work on behalf of the boys. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Mechanics and Laborers Building & Loan Association and served as president for ten years until it was acquired by Cape Savings Bank. He was the last living charter member of the Cape May Court House Kiwanis Club and was a life member of Kiwanis International. He also served as the club treasurer for 25 years. Dr. Brick was a member of the County, State and National Dental Associations.

His personal relationship with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, was always evident. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cape May Court House. He served for many years as a member of the Board of Deacons and as Chairman for many years and sang in the Church choir.

After retirement from his dental practice, he served as a guide at the Cape May County Museum for 16 years.

Dr. Brick was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor. He is survived by his sons, John C. (Clare) of Linwood and Bruce W. (Joanne) of Winfield, WV; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to The First Baptist Church, 101 South Main Street, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210 or Ocean View Care Center Chapel Account, 2721 Route 9, Ocean View, NJ 08230. Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Baptist Cemetery, Cape May Court House.

Brick, Samuel A.

BRICK, Samuel A. on March 8, 2007, lifelong of Marlton. Age 83. Beloved husband of Alice (nee Whiteway) Brick. Loving father of Samuel A. Brick, Jr. and his wife, Patricia of Romney WV and James W. Brick and his wife, Audrey of Medford NJ. Dear grandfather of 4 wonderful grandchildren, Billy, Ian, Emily and Brian and dear brother of Harriet McKelway of Winchester VA and Mary Logan of Ewing NJ. Mr. Brick was the last of the Brick family to be born and raised in Marlton since 1748. A three year US ARMY veteran of WWII, Mr. Brick served in the European Theatre of operations, and he was a patriot all of his life. He was a retired sales representative for Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 25 years serving the South Jersey area. An active member and former past president of the Evesham Historical Society, Mr. Brick assisted in the restoration of the Society's Innskeep House. He was also a Republican County Committeeman for 12 years. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Saturday from 10-11am at the Bradley Funeral Home Rt. 73 and Evesham Road, Marlton, where a Celebration of his Life will be held at 11am. Interment will be private at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown NJ. BRIDGEMAN, on March 3, 2002, Mark J., Jr. of Mt. Laurel, NJ, age 40 yrs. Formerly of Cherry Hill, NJ. Son of Katherine 'Sis' Bridgeman (nee Wicker) and the late Mark J., Sr. Brother of Paul T. Bridgeman of Mt. Laurel and Karen M. Sheerin and her husband Michael of Marlton. Also survived by his grandmother, Alma I. Wicker of Sicklerville, NJ and his 'Loving Friend' Lois Nicoletti of Mt. Bridgeman, Gale

Gale Bridgeman, 54, of Rio Grande, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at her home. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late John Patrick and Elizabeth (Sommerville) Bridgeman, she moved to Rio Grande seven years ago from North Wildwood. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Robert L. Moody, III and his wife, Ami of Rio Grande, and Damian Moody of Rio Grande; her sisters, Betty Taylor of Cape May, and Sue McTamney of Philadelphia, PA; her brother, Patrick J. Bridgeman of Stone Harbor; and three grandchildren, Emma, Amanda, and Andrew.

Funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Lung Association, 1600 Route 22 East, Union, NJ 07083.

Bridges Jr., Gerald H.

Gerald H. Bridges Jr. 'Jerry' Medford, NJ, died suddenly on Monday, on September 24, 2001, in the Virtua Hospital in Marlton, NJ. He was 53 yrs of age. Born in Cumberland, MD, he has resided in Medford, NJ for the past 8 years moving there from Sicklerville, NJ. A Civil Engineer he worked for the NJ Dept. of Transporation in Trenton, NJ for the past 32 yrs. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh in 1970 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy M. (Nee Ruel) of Medford, NJ, his loving daughter Nicole M. Bridges at home, his mother Bette (Nee Johnson) Bridges of Whiting, NJ and his three sisters Sherri Coletti of Atlanta, GA, Diane Supuran of Cocoa Beach, FL and Karen Monagan of Salem Co., NJ. William Charles Brien, Jr., Worked for Cadillac for 53 years AGE: 78

OF: Upper Providence, Media, PA DIED: Suddenly on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at his weekend home in Chesapeake City, Maryland BORN IN: Coal Twp., PA

VETERAN: US Army during the Korean Conflict

EMPLOYMENT: Ruggeri's General Sales Cadillac/Oldsmobile/Saab in West Chester, PA, as Service Director. At the time of his death, he was still employed at Ruggeri's General Sales Cadillac.

Prior Employment: After his High School graduation he relocated to Chester where he worked at General Chevrolet before serving in the Army. After he was discharged from the Service he was employed as Service Director for Cornwall Cadillac in Chester, PA, and set up a diagnostic center for G.M. in Springfield, PA.

ORGNIZATIONS: Church: Member First United Methodist Church, Media, PA, where after serving two terms on the Board of Trustees, he was appointed to a life-time term.

Other: Member of the Masonic Order, Chester Lodge #236 F.& A. M. where he served as Worshipful Master and belonged to the Methodist Men's Organization. Mr. Brien was involved with a variety of community activities including the Upper Providence Sewer Authority, serving as Treasurer. Presently he was a member of the Board of Directors of Port Herman Beach Condominium, his weekend home.

SURVIVORS: Survived by his wife of 22 years, Marilyn (nee Johnston) Brien; One Daughter: Susan (Steven) Daugherty of West Grove, PA; Three Grandchildren: Brianna Zietz, Jeremy Zietz and Caitlin Daugherty; One Sister: Harriet Sclarr of Middle River, Maryland; Two Half-Brothers: Edward Lakjer in California and Paul Lakjer of Breinigsville, PA.

Mr. Brien loved his family and was passionate about is work in serving others.

Age 53. Survived by his children Annemarie Britt of Somerdale, NJ; Patti Anne Kusch (and her husband Paul) of Somerdale and Eric M. Britt of Camden, and his grandson Joseph. Brother of William Britt (and his wife Dottie)of Stratford, Christine Mohan (and her husband Michael) of Marlton, NJ, Joseph Britt (and his wife Donna) of Lindenwold, and Robert Britt (and his wife Donna) of Delaware. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and his special loved ones: Mary Kay Boyle, Phyllis Blankenship, and Shirley Volpe 'Jack' was a 1968 Graduate of Sterling High School and a Veteran of the Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was also a member of the Burlington VFW.

Gregory David Brittingham AGE: 43

OF: Wilmington, Delaware and formerly of Middletown Township, PA DIED: Monday, January 8, 2007 BORN IN: Ridley Township, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas and Anne (nee Dowrick) Brittingham. Had been a resident of Middletown Twp., before moving to Wilmington, Delaware 4 years ago.

BRITTINGHAM, Charles E. (Ed)

Age 60. Of Mount Laurel, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, following a long illness with lung cancer. Comforted by his loving companion and wife Gloria C. (nee Kaminski). He is survived by four children and five grandchildren. Survived by his son Steve, wife Jenn and their child Steven; his son Charles E. Brittingham, II; his daughter Beverly Amerman, husband Todd and their sons Cory and Cole; and son James Vernot, wife Julie and their children Alec and Lauren. Also survived by Gloria's three children Jonathan and Courtney Kaminski, Jessica Lentsch and her husband Geoff. Throughout his life, Ed was an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed watching the Phillies. Ed spent 20 proud years serving our country in the United States Army prior to retiring in 1986. He was an active member of New Jersey Fraternal Order of Police, serving on the South Tactic Committee for five years. He served his Local Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 107 for 12 years as Secretary- Treasurer. At the time of his death, he was employed by the Department of Homeland Security (TSA) in Egg Harbor Twp. Ed would like everyone to "Remember to keep smiling! Honor and glory always."
