Other: A woman devoted to her home and family she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She found pleasure in doing crafts and making Afghans. She was fond of travelling to Lancaster, PA and Wildwood, NJ. Before her illness Dorothy enjoyed the senior citizen clubs in Upland, Parkside and Brookhaven.

Mother of the late Barbara Diane Baylor and Sister of the late Norma Bennet.

SURVIVORS: Wife of the late Clarence Jack Carmichael who died in 1998; She is survived by A Son and Daughter-in-Law who cared for her: Jack N. and Elizabeth Carmichael of Brookhaven, PA; One Sister: Elaine Dust of Buffalo, New York; Also survived by Four Grandchildren: Jack N. Carmichael, Jr., Christina M. Carmichael, Kimberly A. Heidlauf and Debra L. Lambertino and Five Great-Grandchildren.

SERVICE INFORMATION: Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Saturday at The Minshall-Shropshire Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte#352) & Knowlton Roads, Middletown Twp., Media, PA where friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Interment Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.

VETERAN: US Army serving during the Korean War

EMPLOYMENT: Mr. Carpenter worked for Pennsylvania Railroad and LATER Conrail for 40 years

ORGANIZATIONS: Church: Member of The Church of St. Francis DeSales where he was very active.

Other: Mr. Carpenter was a men devoted to his home and family. Mr. Carpenter served as a Councilman in East Lansdowne, PA. Harry was active with Middletown Twp serving on various boards and committees including the Parks and Recreation Committee.

SURVIVORS: Survived by his wife of 53 years Muriel (nee McKinley) Carpenter; Two Daughters: Kim Richards of Washington DC and Jennifer Carpenter of Aston, PA; One Son: Stephen Carpenter of Lake Zurich, Illinois; One Sister: Shirley Banse of Myerstown, PA; Also survived by Four Grandchildren.

SERVICE INFORMATION: Funeral Mass 12:00 Noon Friday from The Church of St Joseph, 3255 Concord Road, Aston, PA where friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Interment Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, PA.

BORN IN: Brookhaven, PA on June 29, 1917, he was the son of the late William and Emma Heacock Carpenter.

EDUCATION: Graduate Media High School

VETERAN: US Navy served in the Pacific on Destroyer 535 USS Miller during World War II

EMPLOYMENT: E. I. DuPont at the Newport Site in Newport, DE, as a Maintenance Mechanic until retiring in 1979

ORGANIZATIONS: Church: Fifty year member Trinity United Methodist Church, Chester, PA

Other: A member of Chester Masonic Lodge #236 F&AM for over fifty years and also a member of the American Legion Post #28 of Millsboro, DE and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5447. He was a former member Aston Lions Club and the Wilmington Chapter of Parents without Partners.

Mr. Carpenter enjoyed traveling and had visited most of the United States.

Husband of the late Olive Scott Carpenter who died in 1968. Brother of the late Louis R. Carpenter and Dorothy Carpenter.

SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife, Beverly White Wooters Carpenter; Children: Wm Scott Carpenter of Elkton, Maryland, Louisa Carpenter (Joel) Romaine of Aston, PA, Pat Wooters and Sandra Wooters of Oxford, PA, Donna Ferrerra of Millsboro, DE and Gary Wooters of Limerick, PA; Also survived by three grandchildren, Sixteen Step-Grandchildren and Thirteen Step-Great-Grandchildren.

SERVICE INFORMATION: Funeral Service Tuesday 11:00 a.m. from The Minshall-Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte#352) & Knowlton Roads, Middletown Twp., Media, PA. EMPLOYMENT: Owner of Carr Electric in Ridley Twp. PA and was a Lineman for Septa, retiring in 1980.

VETERAN: U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, participating in the Occupation of Japan.

ORGANIZATIONS: Member of Our Lady of Charity Church. Was a saw sharpener and avid gardener.

SURVIVORS: Survived by his wife of 51 years, Maria C. (nee Antipas); two daughters, Marianne McMonigle of Concord Twp. and Cathy Denton of Aston. Also survived by 8 grandchildren.

Other: Roberta was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and especially enjoyed camping with her family. She was a member of V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary Post #6613, Lenni, PA and served as a Judge of Election in Aston for 10 years. She also loved doing volunteer work with State Farm Insurnace Company and the United Way Blood Drive.
