DIED: Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Crozer-Chester Medical Center Born in Philadelphia, PA, raised in the Meadows spending most of her life in South West Philadelphia, before moving to Brookhaven 9 years ago.

EMPLOYMENT: The Packer Building, Philadelphia where she worked serving coffee from a coffee cart at the PNC bank and other floors.

ORGANIZATIONS: A woman devoted to her family. Marge loved vacations in Wildwood, NJ and going to the casinos. She enjoyed her cigarette's and Coors light chilled in the freezer every evening.

EVANS, Jane (nee Hood) on May 17, 2008; Wife of the late Charles J. Evans; loving mother of Charles J. "Sam", Jr. (Theresa), Ginny Evans and Christine (Brian) Firlein ; devoted grandmother of Christie (David) Watlington and also 6 additiional grandchildren and the late Michael Dougherty great-grandmother of 2 great-granddaughters. Preceased by her long=time companion George Zouck.

Evans, William P.

William P. Evans, age 87 years of Parkside died suddenly on Friday August 20, 2004 at the Crozer-Chester Medical Center.

Born in Lenni, Pa, Mr. Evans had been a resident of Parkside for the past 58 years.

Mr. Evans was a graduate of Girard College Class of 1936.

He had been employed in sales for General Fire Sales and Service in Camden County for 30 years until his retirement. He wormerly worked for Bergdoll Dairies.

He was a avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed travel.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years Ruth (nee Mills) Evans. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late William M. Evans who died in 1996.

Funeral Service on Tuesday 11:00 a.m. from the Minshall-Shropshire Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte# 352) & Knowlton Roads, Middletown Twp., Media, PA, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m.

Evans, Ruth Mills

Ruth Mills Evans, 90, passed away Friday, February 13th. She was the beloved wife of William Pedlow Evans (deceased) and devoted mother of William Mills Evans (deceased).

Ruth was a life long resident of Chester and an amateur historian of the area. Her remarkable memory kept track of the many changes throughout the years, which she freely shared with friends and neighbors, especially Fred. She greatly valued her 37 years of service at John F Cullis & Sons in Chester and was a member of the Business Professional Women during that time. Ruth had a lovely collection of teacups, many of which were gifts from her son, Bill.

Bill and Ruth met while participating in young adult activities at Providence Avenue Methodist Church. They traveled extensively including many trips to Canada with friends. Drives in the country and the changing seasons were a special joy to them. Wherever they went Bill and Ruth connected with the people they met. They took great pleasure in developing warm relationships with those who worked at the places they regularly visited.

Aunt Ruth will be greatly missed by her surviving family - Nephew, James Lange of Neenah, WI and his son, Jeff (Annie); and nieces Virginia Weston of Murrells Inlet, SC, husband Ted and son Brandon, and Marjorie Mundy of Wilmington, DE her husband Michael and their children, Kira, Sabra and Joshua. As well as, her lifelong friend from her childhood, Bertha Kielman Drake and "son" Robert Dolski (Florence), and many other dear friends and neighbors.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at The Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home

DIED: Tuesday, December 23, 2008

AT: Prospect Park Health and Rehab BORN IN: Upland, PA where he had been a life long resident. He was the son of the late Walter E. and Bessie (nee Bell) Evans.

EDUCATION: Graduate Eddystone High School Class of 1941

VETERAN: US Army serving during World War II

EMPLOYMENT: Swarthmore College retiring in October 1980

PRIOR EMPLOYMENT: Sun Oil for about 10 years in construction.

OTHER: Member American Legion Post #871, Upland, PA

Past member of the Upland Fire Company.

SURVIVORS: Survived by a Great-Niece and a Great-Nephew and also several other nieces and nephews.

SERVICE INFORMATION: Graveside Service and Interment 10:00 a.m. Friday in Chester Rural Cemetery, Chester, PA.

Betty (nee Turner) Evans AGE: 94

OF: Newtown Square, PA and formerly of Ridley Park, PA DIED: Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Fair Acres where she had resided for the last year. Born in Lewistown, PA, she had been a long time resident of Ridley Park before moving with her daughter in Newtown Square, PA, twenty-five years ago.

EMPLOYMENT: Baldwin Locomotive as a Secretary for many years. PRIOR EMPLOYMENT: PMC (Now Widener University) as a Secretary.

ORGANIZATIONS: Church: Member Ridley Park Presbyterian Church Other: Mrs. Evans was devoted to her family and until two years ago she especially enjoyed working in her garden.

Wife of the late Harry L. Evans who died in 1979.

SURVIVORS: Survived by One Daughter: Nancy E. Lee and Son-in-Law Rudy who cared for her of Newtown Square, PA; One Grandson Brian E. Lee and his wife Elizabeth. Growing up Brian shared a special relationship with his Grandmother; Also survived by One Niece: Lynda Isaacs and Two Nephews: James and John Turner.

She had been a life long resident of the Media area.

EDUCATION: Graduate Media High School Class of 1928

EMPLOYMENT: Land and Title Bank and Trust Company in Philadelphia, PA In the 1950's she left the Land Title Bank and Trust Company and at that tine began working at Snowden's Department Store, Media, PA until her retirement in 1970.

ORGANIZATIONS: Church: Member for 85 years of First United Methodist Church, Media, PA. She loved to sing in the choir and also sang in quartets. She helped getting the news letter out and was a member of the committee to change the paraments on the altar.

Other: Mrs. Evans and her husband had a home in St. Petersburg, Florida. They lived there during the winter months and in Pennsylvania during the summer.

Wife of the late Joseph M. Evans who died in 1994.

SURVIVORS: Survived by several cousins and relatives related by marriage.

SERVICE INFORMATION: Funeral Service Friday 2:00 p.m. at The First United Methodist Church, 350 W. State Street, Media, PA 19063. Interment to follow in the Middletown Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Media, PA.
