E. Floyd Pierce, Jr. AGE: 81

OF: Riddle Village, Middletown Twp and formerly of High Meadows, Middletown Twp., PA Died on Friday, December 22, 2006 At Riddle Village Born in Chester, PA. Had been a long time resident of High Meadows, Middletown Twp before moving to Riddle Village, Middletown Twp 10 years ago.

VETERAN: U S Army during World War II. Recipient of Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal.

EMPLOYED: Philadelphia Navy Yard in Philadelphia and when the Navy Yard closed in Philadelphia and moved to Trenton he worked

for the Navy Yard in the Naval Air Propulsion Test Center as a Chemist and was the head of Fuels and Lubrication Department. He had 35 years of service before retiring in 1982.

ORGANIZATIONS: Church: Member First Baptist Church of Chester now known as Middletown Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.

Other: A man devoted to his family and home. Past member and held office of the following: the Union where he was employed, Middletown Twp Parks and Recreaton Committee, AARP and Sr. Citizens of Middletown Twp and High Meadows Civic Association.

He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia "Ginny" (nee Laerence-Boyer) Pierce.

SURVIVORS: He was the loving father of A Son: Byron C. Pierce of Kosse, Texas and Two Daughters: Gale P. Robins of Quarryville, PA and Carol J. Kintzler of Stevens, PA; A Sister: Marcia P. Boyle of Hulmeville, PA; Also survived by Seven Grandchildren.

SERVICE INFORMATION: Funeral Service and Interment in Cumberland Cemetery will be private. Arrangements by The Minshall-Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown Twp., Media, PA.

MEMORIAL GIFTS: Contributions in memory of Floyd Pierce may be given to Riddle Village Endowment Fund, 1048 W. Baltimore Pike, Media, PA 19063.

Pierce, Virginia

Virginia "Ginny" (nee Boyer) Pierce age 76 years of Middletown Twp. died on Saturday July 17, 2004 at Taylor Hospital, Ridley Park, PA.

BORN IN LOWER CHICHESTER, Pa, Mrs. Pierce had been a resident of Middletown Twp forthe past 50 years.

A graduate of Chester High School Mrs. Pierce earlier in life had worked in the accounting department of both Crown Non-Ferrous Foundry and Reheem Manufacturing.

A member of the Middletown Baptist Church she had served as financial secretary of the church. She also was a member and treasurer of both the Middletown Senior citizens and the Media AARP. She was also on the board of the Middletown Senior Citizens.

Mrs. Pierce served for 25 years as the Majority Inspector of the Board of Elections for Middletown Twp in 1-1. She was also involved earlier as a Girl Scout Leader.

She enjoyed dancing.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years Floyd Pierce; 1 Son Bryon Pierce of Kosse, Texas; 2 Daughters: Gale Robins of Quarryville, PA and Carol Kintzler of Ephrata, Pa; 1 Sister: Dorothy Philips of Landenberg, Pa; also survived by 7 grandchildren.

Funeral Services followed by interment will be private.

Memorial contribuions to Middletown Baptist Church, 28 S. Middletown Road, Media, PA 19063 or Riddle Village Endowment Fund, 1048 W. Baltimore Pike, Media, PA 19063 would be appreciated.

Pietryka, Stanley "Chuck"

Stanley "Chuck" Pietryka AGE: 81

OF: Aston, PA and formerly of Chester, Pa

DIED: Wednesday, August 15, 2007 AT Riddle Memorial Hospital Born: Chester, PA HAD BEEN A RESIDENT OF Chester, PA, BEFORE MOVING TO Aston, PA 12 years ago.

EDUCATION: Graduate Chester High School

VETERAN: US Army serving during World War II in the Europe Theater. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

EMPLOYMENT: Congoleum Corporation, Trainer, PA as a Pipe fitter until his retirement in 1987.

ORGANIZATIONS: A man devoted to his home and family. He was a member of the P.N.A. (Polish National Alliance). He was an avid baseball fan and played during his younger years; he especially enjoyed the Phillies.

He was the father of the late Matthew J. Pietryka who died in 2004.

SURVIVORS: Survived by his wife of 56 years, Ethel "Sis" (nee Passwater) Pietryka; A Daughter: Linda Mattero of Brookhaven, PA; Three Sons: Stanley Pietryka and Bill Pietryka both of Aston, PA and Thomas Pietryka of Brookhaven; A Brother: Walter Pietryka of Coatesville, PA; A Sister: Helen Bloom of North East Maryland; Also survived by six Grandchildren and six Great-Grandchildren.

SERVICE INFORMATION: Funeral Service Monday 11:00 a.m. from The Minshall-Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte#352) & Knowlton Roads, Middletown Twp., Media, PA where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.

Matthew J. Pietryka AGE: 39

OF: Aston, PA AND FORMERLY OF Chester, PA

DIED: Monday, February 9, 2004 Born & RESIDED IN Chester, PA BEFORE MOVING TO Aston, PA, 7 YEARS AGO.

EDUCATION: Attended Chester High School

EMPLOYMENT: Wawa, Brookhaven, PA

ORGANIZATIONS: A sports fan, he played little league baseball. He enjoyed reading, walking and going on day trips with his family.

SURVIVORS: Survived by his parents Stanley T. & Ethel (nee Passwater) Pietryka of Aston, PA; A Sister: Linda Mattero of Brookhaven, PA; Three Brothers: Stanley Pietryka of Aston, PA, William Pietryka of Aston, PA and Thomas Pietryka of Brookhaven, PA; Also survived by Nieces and Nephews.

Marion F. Pilling, Jr. AGE: 76

OF: Boothwyn, Upper Chichester Twp., PA DIED: Thursday, January 8, 2009 at home. He had been a resident of Boothwyn, Upper Chichester, PA since 1955.

EMPLOYMENT: Mr. Pilling was employed for 35 years with the Sun Oil Company. He worked in the Package Department until his retirement in 1998.

ORGANIZATIONS: Marion liked working with his hand especially doing woodworking and leather working. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed bowling, hunting, boating and fishing.

Son of the late Marion F., Sr and Mary F. (nee Anderson) Pilling. Brother of the late Margaret A. Mery.

SURVIVORS: He is survived by his Nieces and Nephews who were his caregivers Margaret A. and Paul Dougherty of Newark, Delaware, Andrew J. Davis of Bear, Delaware, Adam Davis of Philadelphia, PA and also a great-nephew who cared for him Paul M. Doughtery, Jr. of Newark, Delaware.

SERVICE INFORMATION: Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday from Gracelawn Memorial Park's Cemetery Chapel, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment in Gracelawn Memorial Park.

Pine, Samuel D.

PINE, SAMUEL D., 92, of Pleasantville, passed away on July 21, at the Shore Memorial Hospital, Somers Point. He was born in Pennsylvania and was an area resident for all of his life.

He was a Gold Trimmer for Lenox China in Pomona, He had previously worked for the Atlantic City Race Track in Hamilton Township. He was a former member of the Northfield United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Helen (nee Dutton) of Pleasantville; his daughter, Catherine Gillingham and her companion James Conover of Northfield; four grandchildren: Kim Gillingham, T. Beth and Richard DiCioccio, R. Diane and Dennis Perna and Stacy D. and Dennis Meighan and six great grandchildren: Dennis III, Darlene, Dawnette, Richard III, Rhoda, and Nicholas, and nieces Betty Griesel and Alma Breeke of Hackettstown, NJ.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25 at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield. Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Laurel Memorial Park, Pomona, NJ.

Pollock, George Everett

George Everett Pollock AGE: 88

OF: Riddle Village, Middletown Twp., Media, PA and formerly of Wallingford, PA and Queenstown, Maryland DIED: Tuesday, November 21, 2006

AT: Riddle Village BORN IN: Downingtown, PA. Had been a resident of Queenstown, Maryland before moving to Wallingford, PA where he resided for 5 years before moving to Middletown Twp., Media, PA 5 years ago.

EMPLOYED: ICI Corporation formerly known as Atlas Chemical Company. A chemical company that dealt with explosives as an Engineer

VETERAN: US Navy serving in World War II

ORGANIZATIONS: He enjoyed boating off of Kent Island and belonged to the Kent Narrows Yacht Club. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening.

Husband of the late Catherine Jones Pollock and his daughter Catherine P. Ailes.

SURVIVORS: Survived by his loving wife Virginia (nee Lougnot) Pollock; Loving Father of Two Sons: G. Everett Pollock, Jr. and his wife Mary of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland and Geoffrey Pollock of Joplin, Missouri and A Daughter: Nancy Maushak and her husband Bill of Lubbock, Texas; A Son-in-Law: Walter Ailes of Bethesda, Maryland; A Brother: Fred M. Pollock and his wife Julia of Downingtown, PA; Also survived by Seven Grandchildren.

SERVICE INFORMATION: Relatives and Friends may attend the graveside services for Mr. Pollock Tuesday 1:00 p.m. in Northwood Cemetery, Downingtown, PA. Arrangements by the Minshall-Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown Twp., Media, PA.
