Randel, Dorothy Joan
Dororthy Joan (nee Nast) Randel age 74 years of Concord Twp., formerly of Yardley, PA, died on Wednesday August 22, 2007 at home.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Mrs. Randel had lived in Yardley for 44 years before moving to Concord Twp. three years ago.
Mrs. Randel was a woman devoted to her home and family. She was an active volunteer at St. Mary's Hospital in Newtown, Bucks County, PA where she had been recognized for the number of hours that she had volunteered to the hospital. She was also a member of the First German Sports Club Phoenix and a member of the Sea Isle City Yacht Club where she was president of the Ladies Auxiliary. Earlier in her life she was a Troop Leader for both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and a first generation Soccer Mom.
She is survived by her husband Edward W. Randel; 1 son, Dr. Edward W. Randal, Jr., DDS of Glen Mills, PA, 1 daughter; Carolyn L. Slack of Summerfield, NC. Also survived by 5 grandchildren.
Funeral Service on Monday at 11:00 AM from St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Lamppost Lane and Pennell Rd., Aston, PA. Interment private. AT Home BORN IN: September 26, 1904 in Concord, Delaware (suburb of Seaford, Delaware) to the late Nathanial Burton and Maggie Joseph Brown. HAD BEEN A RESIDENT OF Marcus Hook, PA FOR 44 years, BEFORE MOVING TO Middletown Twp., PA, 23 years ago.
EMPLOYMENT: American Viscose Company for 40 years. Retired in 1958. Worked part time for Marcus Hook Florist and Salisbury General Hospital.

Other: Mrs. Rees was an expert seamstress. She sewed mostly for her family. At 80 years old she made her granddaughter's wedding gown as well as the bridesmaids' gowns. She continued to sew well into her 90s. She loved flowers and took courses to learn arrangement and to make corsages. Her greatest joy was her family.
Wife of the late Victor John Rees who died in 1963. Sister of the late Walter and Lynden Brown.
